"Junk Christianity" and "junk Bible"

I notice that “junk Christianity is now chock full of “junk Bible”. People just take passages out of the Bible and apply them any way that suits them. I think many now learn “junk Bible” in Sunday school because everything is now taught as an application for living rather than considering context, who the passage was spoken to, and why.

In the seeker churches they love to use “junk Bible” to support the self help psychology programs that have come in. In the healing and prosperity churches they are very adept at using “junk Bible” for their demented, delusional and lustful ends. The legalistic churches use “junk Bible” to keep people bound in doctrines of men. The main line churches use “junk Bible” to support their secular humanism. The Catholics use “junk Bible” to support “junk Christian” dogma.

“Junk Christianity” is just gorging itself at a smörgåsbord of “junk Bible”.
