Chuck Baldwin — Can A Christian Pray To Allah?: “Every true Christian knows that the Lord Jesus Christ is the only way to God the Father. Jesus is not ‘a’ way of salvation. He is the only way of salvation, and His is the only name whereby we are saved. No man comes unto the Father except through Christ (John 14:6; Acts 4:12). This is Christianity 101. We have pre-kindergarten children in our Sunday School that apparently understand more about Bible truth than our supposed ‘Christian’ President. “

Apparently George Bush skipped Christianity 101 and elected to go to the graduate school of Robert Schuller.

Don’t forget that Arab Christians do generally also refer to ‘God’ as ‘Allah’. It’s something that’s grown through the ages I suppose and ‘Allah’ simply is (or has become, not sure on the etymological origins) the Arabic word to refer to the concept of ‘god’ or ‘deity’ and it’s been like that for hundreds and hundreds of years. We must be careful about this issue. After all, does Chuck Baldwin think that a Christian Arab can’t be a true Bible-believing born-again Christian for referring to ‘God’ as ‘Allah’? If that same Christian person had a Hindu background and refered to Jehovah as ‘Vishnu’ or ‘Shiva’, I’d agree that’s entirely inappropriate. But in the case of Arabic, it’s a different.

I still wouldn’t agree to start referring to God as ‘allah’ in the Islamic sense of the word though. But if I’d be speaking in Arabic to someone - whether that person is a Muslim or not - and discuss things like faith, what word does Baldwin suggest me to use? Obviously the problem is not so much in the word Allah but simply who/Who people think this allah/Allah is. The use of the word depends on who you’re writing to and from what point of view. But again, I agree that Christians should beware of using the words Allah and God interchangeably. Muslims do aim at the God we worship, but Allah is not Jehovah in reality. Muslims themselves obviously don’t see it that way. Christians should use a ‘neutral’ term like ‘God’ whenever possible, but in some cases it’s unavoidable. Besides, it would be utterly stupid to try persuading a Arabic-speaking Muslim that Allah really is not ‘God’. There’s no point in that. You’d have no chance left to bring up what’s more important, and that’s the message of Jesus Christ. Only then there’s a chance this person is going to see that the ‘allah’ of the Q’uran is not the true ‘Allah’ of the Bible.

By the way, not all Muslims refer to Allah by that Arabic word. For instance, in Iran, and Pakistan (in the Urdu language), the word commonly used for allah or God is ‘Khoda’ which is a word of Persian origin. In Turkish, a common word for God is ‘tanr?’. This word derives from the name of the ancient sky god of Central Asian tribes. Now what are Turkish Christians going to have to call ‘God’?

I am not a Chuck Baldwin fan. I criticism him a lot. But I am not sure Baldwin realizes that Arab Christians also call God Allah. Even if he knew he would probably condemn them for using that name since he believes it is the name of a demon.

That is a valid argument but like you said the name is in common usage for the one God today no matter where the name might have originated from.

The real point is that no one who believes what Islam says about God can know the only real God since they reject the only Son who reveals Him and provides access to Him.

So those in satanic religion can pray to God but God has done all He is going to do for them in the natural order of things since they are not His. At least not yet. I do not know what Satan might or might not do with their requests since he is the god of these religions.

The other issue is why is a Evangelical Christian President promoting universalism?
