New law means anti-gay comments could lead to seven years in jail the Daily Mail
Stirring up hatred against homosexuals is to become a serious crime punishable with a seven-year jail sentence under a law announced last night.
The legislation - similar to laws already in force outlawing persecution on religious or racial grounds - will make criminals of those who express their views in ways that could lead to the bullying or harassment of gays.
The maximum sentence is longer than the average of around five years handed to rapists.

Notice that the police will determine who has crossed the line. If the cop or his supervisors happens to be homosexual you will probably get arrested for preaching the Bible, saying they are perverts or even calling them some name they don’t like, like Homo’s.

Jack Straw is a fag. Now, sue me!

Sorry for getting so sarcastic here but I think laws like these are just absurd. I’ve had numerous discussions on homosexuality and gay marriage with homosexual people and pro gay rights people but no matter how considerate and respectful you are of gays as individuals (while not condoning homosexuality and gay marriage), you are still called an intolerant homophobe, xenophobe or Christian fundamentalist, fascist whatever by 99% of them.

I think it’s in Germany that a pastor was sentenced to prison for denouncing homosexuality. And in Sweden you can hardly preach against homosexuality. Even in France, where same-sex unions are possible but not gay marriage, Christian Vanneste, a UMP senator (the center-right party of Sarkozy and Chirac) was fined for his ‘homophobic’ remarks. So no, true Christians in Britain certainly have no reason to be afraid of this new law!

Anti-hate speech laws go against freedom of speech, thought and religion. Anyone who still cares about his freedom should oppose such laws.

Yeah, but it will be a criminal offense in Britain not a civil one so they don’t have to sue you.

Why do you say no Christian in Britain should be afraid of this law, unless you are saying no true Christian would break this law? If thats what you mean that may not be true.

Suppose some Christian preaches that the Bible says that the penally for the sin of Homosexual behavior is death. Or says that homosexuals are perverts.

I can see Christians being prosecuted by this law for telling the truth.

I was being sarcastic when I made that remark. I actually agree that Christians in Britain really do have reason to be afraid of this new law because of what similar laws have already lead to in other European countries. As I said, I’ve discussed the homosexuality topic numerous times and each time I was considered a homophobe in the end, no matter how politely I was discussing the issue with them.

Sorry, I should of caught the sarcasm especially with the exclamation point. I am just staying up to late.
