The Church In Apostasy

Chuck Baldwin — The Church In Apostasy“Obviously, George W. Bush is a universalist. His confession is not that of a Christian, but that of a universalist. Any true Christian knows that there is but one mediator between God and man: Christ Jesus. Any true Christian knows that Jesus is the incarnate God–the Creator-God become flesh. Any true Christian knows that Jesus and the Father are one. Any true Christian knows that there is salvation in no other name, no other god. Any true Christian knows that no one has access to God except through Jesus Christ. Any true Christian knows that there is no God other than Jesus: that Jesus is the fullness of the Godhead bodily. That is Christianity 101. With the above understanding and because President Bush claims to be a Christian, his statements should be regarded by Christians everywhere as an admission of apostasy and an attack upon the fundamental doctrine of Christ. Yet, there has been no reaction. No admonishments. No calls for repentance. No warnings to Christians to reject such heresy. No protestations whatsoever. Why? There is only one answer: the church itself is in a state of apostasy! “

Baldwin is correct. With a few exceptions nobody is saying anything about what George Bush has clearly said. What he said is not what true Christians believe. Therefore, unless he repents of his universalist views that Baldwin documented in this article he cannot be considered a true Christian. He is not a true Christian according to any orthodox understanding of the Christian faith. His foreign policy also displays that with Bush opposing Israel to remain in their God given land to appease a cult called Islam overun with terrorists.

Yes, many of the churches are now in apostasy. I do not think it is quite as bad as Chuck Baldwin paints, yet it is bad and it is getting worse all the time. Bible prophecy predicts it would happen. Christian pastors and leaders should be speaking up on this issue since our belief in Jesus as the only way to God is critical to our faith and it is critical to preach the good news of salvation through Jesus to the world. What we see happening with some of the leadership is not exactly apostasy since most know and believe that Jesus is the only way to God. They Just will not preach the gospel of salvation.

The problem really is that they are cowards and they do not want to do battle againt forces of evil. They think by not taking a stand that they won’t cause waves. Meanwhile, like in the ancient city of Laodicea the enemy is climbing the cliff behind the city while the Laodicean leaders idle away their time in leisure and preach the gospel of good times that the Laodicean Christians want to hear.

The true biblical Christianity of the saints that laid the foundation is on the brink of being destroyed on many fronts because most Christians leaders are mainly concerned with their own garden on their own Laodicean hill. The members of their churches seem most concerned about their positions on their pews. They know little about what is going on in the Church and in the world and they care to know even less.
