Catholic voters warned they risk losing their eternal salvation if they vote pro choice

Catholic voters warned on abortion - - The Washington Times, America’s Newspaper: “BALTIMORE (AP) — Roman Catholic voters and lawmakers must heed church teaching on abortion or risk losing their eternal salvation, U.S. bishops said yesterday.”

Most Catholics I know vote Liberal and the people they vote for are pro choice. So the Catholic Church is saying if you don’t repent you will all be going to hell.

I on the other hand, would say that the reason you vote Liberal on these sin issues is that you most likely have never been saved to start with. If you were born of God you would know that abortion and sex perversions are abominations and you would not be supporting those who force this on the nations.

I also know that most Catholics will not care what the church says on this because they only believe the parts of Catholicism that they want to believe. Mainly the religious ritualism and the practices that gives them absolution from their guilt.

The church now tells them they risk losing their eternal salvation but this church never guarantees them eternal salvation anyway unless they continue to follow the path to salvation that this church defines. Since most know that they do not do that, losing what they already suspect they do not have is not a big issue with most Catholics. Therefore, telling them they will go to hell will not influence their voting at all.
