This person has it mostly wrong. The fair tax will be a disaster and he proves my point.

If people made the choice to buy used items or not buy at all their would be a massive depression in the US. Many people who choose to buy will buy from a black or gray market and the government would get nothing.

23 percent is really 30 percent if you do the math correctly and that will not even cover it. Now put state and local sales taxes on top of that 30 percent and you are talking about a 40 percent tax on everything you purchase. Like I said the Fair Tax is a recipe for a depression. Imagine buying a house, car, pill, groceries or anything else that suddenly costs 40 percent more.

I agree that housing prices have a long way to fall. How far depends upon where you live. If housing went up 100 percent in the last five year in your area it can fall by the same amount in the next couple of years. If we get into a severe recession house prices can fall more than that.

We can produce enough fuel for our nuclear reactors from the nuclear waste we have on hand to fuel our reactors for decades. It would also greatly limit the amount of material that will have to be shipped to Yucca mountain for storage. I think it is time that we caught up with the French on this technology.

It looks like the US has make plans to have forces in Pakistan by early next year to continue to fight World War III against the radical Islamic groups. With the Bhutto assignation that even looks more likely.

Ethanol is certainly not the solution for our energy needs. It don’t make much sense to take our food and turn it into a low grade fuel. Yeah, they do intend to make some of it out of non food plants but they don’t know if they can even do that for any price that you would pump into your tank.

The whole Ethanol project wont amount to a hill of beans in our future energy needs. We probably would like to have some of those cheap beans to eat but food prices will skyrocket. Meanwhile, we could do much more to develop our coal and oil deposits and ten to twenty years down the line solar will certainly be able to provide serious low cost energy alternatives but your Congress and President do the usual knee-jerk thing that government does so well. Legislating stupidly!

So here’s their answer to our energy problem from the powers on high in a nutshell:

You continue paying $5 a gallon for gasohol that gets twenty percent less gas millage but will have to run thirty percent further on this gasohol concoction. That means a fifty percent increase in energy efficient will be needed. The only way car makes can accomplished that is through expensive hybrid engines and by reducing the weight of all vehicles.

Thus:
1. Very light small vehicles will be developed that are less safe and there will be more injuries and fatalities.
2. Gasohol will cost $5 or more per gallon and your duel engine vehicle will cost $5000 more to buy and you will have much higher maintenance costs.
3. Food grains will be converted into Ethanol and the cost of most food products you buy will soar. As will transportaion costs on any product shipped.
4. Ethanol will pollute ground water.
5. Realistic energy development such as coal electric plants, coal slurry plants and oil and gas drilling will be hindered, driving up the cost of home heating and electric by 50 percent.

The new regulations will mean that you will be spending several thousands of dollars more each year for what you have now.

The killing of opposition leader and former Prime Minister Bhutto is going to make an unstable situation in Pakistan much worse. Things can out of control there rather quickly. I would think that Pervez Musharraf will declare emergency powers and the situation will get even worse than it was several weeks ago.

Much might depend upon who gets the blame for this assassination. If it is linked with Musharraf there will be a uprising against him. If Musharraf can convincing link this with Islamic terrorism Musharraf might soon have to take major military action against their strongholds in the western territories. Keep in mind that the Pakistan government and military is infiltrated with radical Islamics making widespread military operations difficult. Also keep in mind that Pakistan possesses a nuclear arsenal that the Islamics want control of. If the nukes seem to be in danger of falling into the hands of radicals NATO will take them out.

That means in one or two years these houses could be selling for half the price many paid for them in 2005- 2006. In Arizona I remember bare lots more than doubling in price from 2005 to 2006. Soon the lots will be selling for what they were ten years ago. It only costs $60 to $80 a sqft to build a house. The rest is the cost of the lot.

After reading this all should understand that there is no consensus among scientists. All the consensus you hear about is from those who have their own greedy reasons for wanting you to believe that there is a consensus.

I keep wondering when the world leaders are going to get the message that real science is not buying into their global warming nonsense? How long will they go on with this junk science facade? The Church of Huck is something to think about if you are really thinking about voting for Mike Huckabee. The author makes a good case that Huckabee will try to establish government social programs like you might expect under those that believe in earthly Dominion Theology. You will not only get more big government social programs you will get them with zeal because this is his belief system. Part of the gospel of Mike Huckabee is fixing everything wrong in the world system by human works because he believes when we make people healthy and wealthy that they will naturally become peace loving law abiding citizens and choose Jesus. Sure you have to throw out sound biblical theology to believe that but sound theology never makes the transition from Christian to leader of the world.

The important thing to remember is that Mike Huckabee is going to be a social liberal on religious steroids and his foreign policy wont be to speak softly and carry a big stick. It will be to speak in self deprecating humor while giving away Uncle Sam’s shorts.

In Canada they are now actively imposing penalties on those who speak out against homosexuality. If this is not reversed Christians will not be able to talk about sin and how those living in it are alienated from God and need His Savior. If the law cannot be taught. How then will the law lead anyone to the Savior?

Only because if we allow the kneejerkers to rule on this issue they will waste trillions of dollars trying to fix a problem that is not broken. It will help bring energy shortages, wreck the economy of a world that is already on the ropes, and be a major step to bring global governance over every aspect of our lives.

Trying to keep three Blogs and a website going at the same time has been taking more hours a day then I have available. Typically I go through about 25 news and information websites taking about 8 hours each day to read, post and comment on material that I found. All the blogging only brings about 10 percent of the new visits to my website. I could accomplish the same increase to my website by writing 5 well thought out articles. So this much blogging is not the most productive use of my time.

So, as of today I will not be posting any more articles on Koenig’s Interesting Articles Blog and I will be deleting that Blog in a few months.

I will still post on this Blog and my Bible prophecy Blog but I will not be posting as many posts per day on this Blog. What I do post will be more selective.

What many Catholic do not understand is that it is not bigotry to question the history and the beliefs of the Roman Catholic Church any more than it is bigotry to question Mormons or any religion about their own Christian claims. One problem with the Catholics is that think their church is uniquely above criticism among religions. For Catholics to call Evangelicals bigots is worse than the pot calling the kettle black. Protestants only separated from the Roman Catholic Church because the Roman church would not change their views after they departed from scripture in many ways. How do Evangelicals express how the Catholics are off the mark without offending the religiosity of some in it?

For the record, most Evangelicals believe that the Roman Catholic Church’s doctrine is a gospel of salvation by works theology and that their convoluted doctrine of salvation makes it difficult for people to find salvation. Most also acknowledge that within the Catholic Church there are some who have found salvation. We might say the same thing about other Protestant denominations that have a gospel of salvation through good works or through obedience to their church. Evangelicals know that church denominations and doctrines save no one.

One is only saved by trusting in the mercy of the righteous Savior to save them from their sins. If you are trusting in your own good works and your own righteousness to go to heaven you are not saved regardless of your denomination. Therefore, it is not bigotry to present these issues. Love requires that we tell people the truth. Some just want everyone to stay out of their own religious business and let them go to hell without any outside interference but that is not what the Bible teaches Christians to do.

Thus the money you think you raise in taxes by passing this law will not bring in the revenue that you expect, and it will often impact the innocent.

Most light bulbs are used more in the cool months because of the longer nights. So the 90 percent heat produced by the traditional light bulbs is not waste heat it is cutting down on your heating bills. That kicks up the energy efficiency of the bulbs over most of the year. In addition, CFL’s take more energy to produce ship and dispose of.

Couple that with the fact that CFL’s will not be switched on and off as often and you will find out that the light bulbs will not save energy. Then consider the environmental damage the Mercury will cause and the health effects of cold light on people and you have to come to the conclusion that traditional light bulbs are more environmental friendly than CFL’s for most home uses.
