Huckabee Oked by Evangelicals, Nix Mormon Romney and More - J. Grant Swank Jr. - Nov 30, 07: “‘The god of Mormonism was once a man who was born to human parents on another planet, grew to manhood, lived out his life being obedient to the laws and ordinances of the gospel presented by the god of that world. “Upon his death and resurrection, he was judged (by his god) as being worthy for godhood” per “Mormonism: Christian or Cult” by Ed Decker. “The Mormon god was raised to his godhood and sent with many goddess wives to a planet near the great star, Kolob, somewhere in our present galaxy. There, this god and his wives began ‘ëprocreating’ or physically begetting ‘spirit’ children. “We here on this planet are each the offspring of this god and one of his goddesses in this pre-existent Mormon world.””

Romney is a counterfeit Christian and probably a counterfeit conservative as well. No Christian should be voting for a Bishop of a demonic cult to lead this nation.

If the list of candidates to choose from was a line of port-o-potties outside a concert, Huckabee would be the one overflowing with diarrhea.
If you want a real candidate with real values, then you want Hillary Clinton. Just trust me.

    Vote For Hillary Online

Hillary would be the one that would flip flop and cover you with crap.

If I wanted a real candidate with real values I would pick Ron Paul. If I wanted one with brains I would look outside of the crap house.

The Church of Jesus Christ (LDS) is often accused by Evangelical pastors of not believing in Christ and, therefore, not being a Christian religion This article helps to clarify such misconceptions by examining early Christianity’s theology relating to baptism, the Godhead, the deity of Jesus Christ and His Atonement.

    • Baptism: .

Early Christian churches, practiced baptism of youth (not infants) by immersion by the father of the family. The local congregation had a lay ministry. An early Christian Church has been re-constructed at the Israel Museum, and the above can be verified. http://www.imj.org.il/eng/exhibitions/2000/christianity/ancientchurch/structure/index.html
The Church of Jesus Christ (LDS) continues baptism and a lay ministry as taught by Jesus’ Apostles. Early Christians were persecuted for keeping their practices sacred, and prohibiting non-Christians from witnessing them.

    • The Trinity: .

A literal reading of the New Testament points to God and Jesus Christ , His Son , being separate , divine beings , united in purpose. . To whom was Jesus praying in Gethsemane, and Who was speaking to Him and his apostles on the Mount of Transfiguration?

The Nicene Creed”s definition of the Trinity was influenced by scribes translating the Greek manuscripts into Latin. The scribes embellished on a passage explaining the Trinity , which is the Catholic and Protestant belief that God is Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The oldest versions of the epistle of 1 John, read: “There are three that bear witness: the Spirit, the water and the blood and these three are one.”

Scribes later added “the Father, the Word and the Spirit,” and it remained in the epistle when it was translated into English for the King James Version, according to Dr. Bart Ehrman, Chairman of the Religion Department at UNC- Chapel Hill. He no longer believes in the Nicene Trinity. .

Scholars agree that Early Christians believed in an embodied God; it was neo-Platonist influences that later turned Him into a disembodied Spirit. Harper’s Bible Dictionary entry on the Trinity says “the formal doctrine of the Trinity as it was defined by the great church councils of the fourth and fifth centuries is not to be found in the New Testament.”

Divinization, narrowing the space between God and humans, was also part of Early Christian belief. St. Athanasius of Alexandria (Eastern Orthodox) wrote, regarding theosis, “The Son of God became man, that we might become God.” . The Church of Jesus Christ (LDS) views the Trinity as three separate divine beings , in accord with the earliest Greek New Testament manuscripts.

    • The Deity of Jesus Christ

Mormons hold firmly to the deity of Christ. For members of the Church of Jesus Christ (LDS), Jesus is not only the Son of God but also God the Son. Evangelical pollster George Barna found in 2001 that while only 33 percent of American Catholics, Lutherans, and Methodists (28 percent of Episcopalians) agreed that Jesus was “without sin”, 70 percent of Mormons believe Jesus was sinless. http://www.adherents.com/misc/BarnaPoll.html

    • The Cross and Christ’s Atonement: .

The Cross became popular as a Christian symbol in the Fifth Century A.D. . Members of the Church of Jesus Christ (LDS) believe the proper Christian symbol is Christ’s resurrection , not his crucifixion on the Cross. Many Mormon chapels feature paintings of the resurrected Christ or His Second Coming. Furthermore, members of the church believe the major part of Christ’s atonement occurred in the Garden of Gethsemane as Christ took upon him the sins of all mankind.

    • Definition of “Christian”: .

But Mormons don’t term Catholics and Protestants “non-Christian”. They believe Christ’s atonement applies to all mankind. The dictionary definition of a Christian is “of, pertaining to, believing in, or belonging to a religion based on the teachings of Jesus Christ”: All of the above denominations are followers of Christ, and consider him divine, and the Messiah foretold in the Old Testament. They all worship the one and only true God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and address Him in prayer as prescribed in The Lord’s Prayer.

It’s important to understand the difference between Reformation and Restoration when we consider who might be authentic Christians. . Early Christians had certain rituals which defined a Christian http://sacred-texts.com/chr/ecf/207/2070037.htm , which members of the Church of Jesus Christ (LDS) continue today. . If members of the Church of Jesus Christ (LDS) embrace early Christian theology, they are likely more “Christian” than their detractors.

    • The Need for a Restoration of the Christian Church:

The founder of the Baptist Church in America, Roger Williams, just prior to leaving the church he established, said this:

“There is no regularly constituted church of Christ on earth, nor any person qualified to administer any church ordinances; nor can there be until new apostles are sent by the Great Head of the Church for whose coming I am seeking.” (Picturesque America, p. 502.)

Martin Luther had similar thoughts: “Nor can a Christian believer be forced beyond sacred Scriptures,…unless some new and proved revelation should be added; for we are forbidden by divine law to believe except what is proved either through the divine Scriptures or through Manifest revelation.”

He also wrote: “I have sought nothing beyond reforming the Church in conformity with the Holy Scriptures. The spiritual powers have been not only corrupted by sin, but absolutely destroyed; so that there is now nothing in them but a depraved reason and a will that is the enemy and opponent of God. I simply say that Christianity has ceased to exist among
those who should have preserved it.”

The Lutheran, Baptist and Church of Jesus Christ (LDS) churches recognize an apostasy from early Christianity. The Lutheran and Baptist churches have attempted reform, but Mormonism (and Roger Williams, and perhaps Martin Luther) require inspired restoration, so as to re-establish an unbroken line of authority and apostolic succession.

And if you believe any of that crap. The following is what the Mormons really believe.

The Mormon Church goes to great effort to portray itself as an orthodox Christian denomination. The truth is that the doctrines of the Latter Day Saints are in direct opposition to the Christian faith. Many Christians have believed this masquerade and think that Mormons are saved. In much of what they teach, they use Christian terminology but let us examine what their founders really taught:

(most of the following bullet statements were extracted from the Kingdom of the Cults, by Dr. Walter Martin)

The Mormons believe in many gods - these gods procreate spirit children
Latter day Saints believe that God the Father was and is a man of flesh and bone who once lived on another planet and who progressed to become the God of this world

Mormons say Jesus was not begotten by the Holy Spirit, they say that Father God had physical sex with Mary to produce Jesus (early teaching)

The Mormon god is eternally progressing and learning new things

The Mormon Jesus is progressing and may become god of another planet
Brigham Young (who cannot error according to their doctrine) said that, “Adam is our father and God. Adam is the Ancient of Days and also Michael the Archangel” (Later other prophets of the Mormon Church claimed that this inerrant doctrine of Brigham Young is false)

The Latter Day Saints doctrine of the trinity is perverted and is nothing like the trinity of orthodox Christianity. They teach that they are three Gods (or four - some say the Holy Ghost is different from the Holy Spirit)

Mormons believe that we were preexistent souls before we were born in the flesh

The Latter Day Saints have corrected obvious errors in books that they say are inspired inerrant holy books. There have been 4000 documented word changes in the book of Mormon alone since 1830.

The Latter Day Saints rewrote their history to be more credible

Mormons believe that Jesus and Lucifer are spirit brothers

The Latter Day Saints teach the doctrine of universal salvation and that there is no eternal hell except for those who will not progress. Hell only applies to those who leave Mormonism or will not become Mormon in the next life

Mormons have conflicting theology about the Holy Spirit in their own writings and some refer to the Holy Spirit as an “It”

Much of the original book of Mormon that they say was given to their founder by an angel - letter by letter - was plagiarized from the King James Bible errors and all. Since much of the book of Mormon is quoted from the King James Bible, the book of Mormon itself can be used to refute most of the practices and beliefs of Mormonism today

The Latter Day Saints say that their church prophets are on the same level as the old testament prophets and that their doctrine cannot be in error

The Latter Day Saints believe that each head of the Mormon Church wears the mantle of a prophet and that their church doctrine cannot be in error

The Latter Day Saints doctrine of salvation is not by faith in Jesus alone. To be saved one must have faith, be baptized by immersion, keep the teachings of the Mormon Church, do good works and keep the commandments.

The Latter Day Saints have said that God was predestined to sin which they equate with the fall into mortality. The fall happened so that more potential gods could come into being and reach god hood

Mormons have said that Jesus married both Mary and Martha and had children

LDS teaches a limited atonement; Brigham Young said “the blood of Jesus was ineffective for the cleansing of some sins. Those that believe it will lose their salvation”

The Latter Day Saints idea of needing God’s grace is that grace is needed so we may have power to progress and become like God. All Mormons must strive for perfection, sanctification and god hood

Mormons believe that the family unit will endure unto eternity and some go through baptism rituals in the temple to save unbaptised dead.

They say when Jesus returns that the Mormons will be gathered together in new Jerusalem in Missouri before the judgment

The Latter Day Saints have three heavens - one for the heathen, one for the Christians and one for good Mormons. When Mormons progress enough to be gods they will get a planet of their own to rule

The Mormons have added to the word of God by adding to the canon their Doctrine and Covenants, the Pearl of Great Price and the Book of Mormon. The books have contradictions with each other and with the Bible

There is no archeological evidence to support the claims of the book of Mormon and there is much to refute it

The book of Mormon shows lack of knowledge about world history

The book of Mormon contains words that were not in existence at the time it was said to have been written (500 - 600 BC) - words such as Church, Christ, BIBLE etc.

Some of the book of Mormon may have come from a work of fiction on the American Indians by Solomon Spaulding but the theology seems to be that of Sidney Rigdon

The book of Mormon contains a quote from Shakespeare - 1 Nephi 1:14b

The Latter Day Saints teach as man is, God once was; as God is, man may become

The prophet Joseph Smith of Mormonism has documented false prophecies

The Latter Day Saints say that all Christian sects are wrong and that all their creeds are an abomination

LDS claims to be the priesthood of Aaron and Melchizedek

The Latter Day Saints have had a history of white supremacy and until recently did not let blacks into the priesthood

The Mormons teach that the American Indian is a decedent of Israel and Semitic, yet scientific genetics teaches that the American Indian is of the Mongoloid race and from Asia

Mormons are told to wear holy underwear with mystical Masonic markings to protect them from harm

The Mormons have a different Jesus
The Church of the Latter Day Saints has a different Jesus than the Jesus of scripture. They use Christian terms like born again, saved, trinity, Father God, etc., however, the meanings they put on these Christian terms are entirely different. The Mormon message supposedly was given to them by the angel Moroni. The apostle Paul warned about angels with false doctrine in Galatians 1:8, 9, “If an angel from heaven proclaims any other gospel than the one you received let him be cursed by God”.

The real Jesus wants for Mormons to find out the truth.

If you are considering joining the Latter Day Saints, realize that their Jesus does not exist and never saved anyone. Why join with a counterfeit Jesus when the real Jesus is waiting for you? He said, all those that come to me I will in no way cast out. If you think you can progress to become a God as Mormons believe, then you have much in common with paganism, and eastern religions but this is not Christianity.

If the Latter Day Saints wish to know the real Jesus of Scripture He can be known by accepting Him and His finished work on the cross by faith in Him alone. No ordinances of the Church or good works have any part in salvation.

Many say Mormons are saved because they confess Jesus but the Jesus they confess they also deny with their doctrine. So unless they have a genuine regeneration in the spirit and accept the sacrifice that Jesus did to pay for all their sins they are not really later day saints.

When commenting, please address these questions:

    1. Is the Israel Museum wrong that First Century Christians practiced baptism by immersion by the father of the family?

    2. Is the Israel Museum wrong that local church leaders were a lay ministry?

    3. Is Clement of Jerusalem wrong that Jewish temple ordinances were practiced by Christians until 350 A.D.?

    4. Is Dr. Bart Ehrman wrong that the Nicene Creed was based on faulty translations from the earliest Greek New Testament writings?

    5. Was St. Athanasius of Alexandria (Eastern Orthodox) wrong, regarding theosis, when he wrote, “The Son of God became man, that we might become God. ”

    6. Did Early Christians believe in an embodied God; was it neo-Platonist influences that later turned Him into a disembodied Spirit?

    7. Do you have proof that the Cross was used as a common Christian symbol prior to the Fifth Century?

How could Joseph Smith, an ill-educated farm boy, know these elements of the First Century Christian Church?

    Turning to modern-day Mormons,

    1. Was George Barna’s poll wrong when he found that twice as many Mormons as mainstream Catholics and Protestants believe that Jesus Christ is divine?

    2. Have you found a dictionary with the primary definition of a Christian other than “of, pertaining to, believing in, or belonging to a religion based on the teachings of Jesus Christ”?

    3. Have you found a poll that found that Evangelical children display Christian characteristics more frequently then Mormon children?

And do you dispute that Roger Williams and Martin Luther both wrote that Christ’s true church wouldn’t be found by Reformation, but rather by Restoration by revelation?

I look forward to your comments.

Mike Huckabee was regarded by fellow Republican governors as a compulsive tax increaser and spender. He increased the Arkansas tax burden by 47 percent, boosting the levies on gasoline and cigarettes. The Arkansas Leader.com editorialized that Mike Huckabee raised more taxes in 10 years in office than Bill Clinton did in his 12 years.

The Arkansas Ethics Commission held proceedings 20 times on the former governor. During his tenure, Huckabee accepted 314 gifts valued overall at more than $150,000, according to documents filed with the Arkansas secretary of state’s office. (He accepted 187 gifts in his first three years as governor but was not required to report their value.)

Two months after taking office, Huckabee stunned the state by saying he questioned rapist Wayne DuMond’s guilt and that it was his intention to free the rapist, DuMond murdered a women in Illinois after Huckabee set him free

Huckabee battled conservatives within his own party who were pushing for stricter state-level immigration measures, such as:.
    - proof of legal status when applying for state services that aren’t federally mandated
    - proof of citizenship when registering to vote
    - Huckabee failed in his effort to make children of illegal immigrants eligible for state-funded scholarships and in-state tuition to Arkansas colleges.

Mike fails on so many levels as a true conservative.

You did not answer my points so why should I answer yours? Your question have little to do with the main issue anyway and answering them are a waste of my time. They just seem to be taken out of a Mormon training text book.

The bottom line is that Mormons have a different Savior and a different way to salvation than what Christians believe. Even that is in your own doctrine. All Christians are apostate according to your doctrine so just admit that Mormons and Christians have little belief in common.

Since you have a different path to salvation no astute Christians will ever accept Mormons as Christians. You can be wanna-be Christians all you want and you can even claim to be Christians but astute Christians know you do not have the only gospel of salvation.

Therefore, either you are not Christians or we are not Christians. Now I know what I am, so I also know what you are not. You might disagree with me but that is why there is no compromise between Christians and Mormons.

You cannot be accepted by the Christian faith because you claim salvation through your own good works and we proclaim that salvation was all the doing of the Savior. We have no limited atonement!

You might disagree but it does not matter. It is what Christians believe so you cannot believe something else and then claim to be one of us.

You can claim to be the only true Christians as you do and call us all apostate but you are still not one of us so quit pretending that you are.

We claim Jesus is the image of God co-equal with the Father from eternity. You claim He is a lessor god in training to become the God of this planet (as you also can become according to your Mormon doctrine). This is not Christian teaching in the eyes of Christians this is paganism. You can claim that your paganism is Christianity but it does not make you any less pagan in our eyes.

Therefore, you become god’s through your own efforts. You have bought the lie in the garden from the beginning that you can become like God.

You do not even believe we become sons of God through the work that the Savior did “once and for all” at Calvary. You become Gods by becoming a Savior yourself. That is a different gospel!

No matter how you cut it Mormons teach a completely different Jesus and a different gospel than Christian believe.

Like Paul said, if an angel from heaven preaches any other gospel let him be accursed. He even said it twice so you will not miss the point.

You can debate who has the true gospel but that is not the issue. Obviously Mormons think they have the truth or they would not be in their religion.

Christians also claim to have the truth. There cannot be two truths so someone is wrong. Therefore Christians will never accept the Mormon doctrine and therefore true Christians will never call Mormons Christens.

The religions are completely incompatible. It is very much like trying to mix science fiction with Christianity

So in the area of politics Christians would not be wise to vote for someone who we know is deceived by demonic religion any more than Christians should vote for Tom Cruise.

If we were only voting on human values Mormons would do just fine but so are people in many pagan beliefs. We do not want a leader who we believe does not have a relationship with the God of heaven to lead us. Therefore no true Christian should ever vote for a pagan or a Mormon over a orthodox believing Christian.

Why in the world would Christians want someone we know is deceived by Satan to rule over us? We might as well vote for a democrat.

And that’s just the way it is.

The dictionary definition of a Christian is “of, pertaining to, believing in, or belonging to a religion based on the teachings of Jesus Christ”: Your church and my charch are composed of followers of Christ, and consider him divine, and the Messiah foretold in the Old Testament. We all worship the one and only true God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and address Him in prayer as prescribed in The Lord’s Prayer

  9. Don Koenig said »

Yeah but your church does not follow Jesus Christ. Your church follows mystical teachings of your founders and prophets who talk of a different Jesus Christ. They obvious did not know the identity of the real Jesus Christ because your Jesus is not the Creator he is created.

The Bible defines who Jesus Christ is not your church. What you claim about Jesus is not true, therefore you do not know Him and are not a follower of Him. You have another Christ a counterfeit Christ.

People can say they follow George Bush but when they tell us about him if they describe the attributes of Ron Hubbard they obviously never knew George Bush.

We do not all worship the one and only true God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and address Him in prayer as prescribed in The Lord’s Prayer. You cannot know the Father apart from Jesus Christ and we have already established that your Jesus is a counterfeit.

The children of Abraham Issac and Jacob were justified by faith in God’s righteousness while Mormons are justified through church ordnances and their own good works.

Yours is not the gospel of salvation to all who believe in His righteousness. It is a gospel of becoming self righteous enough to become like God.

The two gospels are in direct opposition to each other. Only one is true and only one can call themselves followers of Jesus Christ. Therefore, astue Christian will never call Mormons Christians.

  10. Bot said »

How can a denomination which believes every word of the original Greek New Testament is the Word of God NOT be a Christian denomination? By what authority do you determine who is an is not a Christian?

The dictionary definition of a Christian is “of, pertaining to, believing in, or belonging to a religion based on the teachings of Jesus Christ”. Therefore, your church and mine are both Christian churchs.

Anything revealed by Mormon prophets are simply re-inforcing our Christianity.

  11. Don Koenig said »

I do not care what the dictionary calls a Christian. Christians are in the unique position to define Christianity. We are the body of Christ.

How can a cult that believes every word of the NT not be a Christian denomination?

It is not believing that the words were inspired that counts. It is the meaning that you put on those words.

For example, the Jews believed every word of the Law and the Prophets but most of them still rejected and missed their Messiah because they did not understand that the Law was given to lead them to the Messiah who fulfilled it for them.

Instead they still want to try to keep the law themselves to please God and the work of Jesus became a stumbling block for them rather than Jehovah’s salvation.

Mormons do very much the same thing as the Jews. They believe the scriptures but they miss that salvation is fully fulfilled in the Messiah. Instead they believe they can work their way up to godhood by their own merits. To them Jesus showed the way to the Father He was not the only way to the Father.

The Authority that anyone can determine who a Christian is, is by who they say Jesus Christ is?

If they make Him to be anything less then the Creator who once and for all paid for the sins of all Mankind and now saves all who trust in His righteousness, then they are not Christians.

Anyone who believes differently have never found God’s only way to salvation and they are not members of the Body of Christ. “Christians”.

Could someone explain how you justify your position in light of the First Amendment? Why does it matter whether Romney is a Christian or not? I agree that Mormons are outside the pail of orthodox Christianity, but that is irrelevant. I don’t care what religion a candidate belongs to–I care about their stance on the issues, their competence, and their general moral character. I favor Huckabee over Romney because I think he’s more trustworthy and I think his positions are more informed by moral principle. The fact that I consider Huckabee my brother in Christ and can’t see Romney the same way has nothing to do with it.
