Trucks Power China’s Economy, at a Suffocating Cost
Trucks Power China’s Economy, at a Suffocating Cost - New York Times: “GUANGZHOU, China — Every night, columns of hulking blue and red freight trucks invade China’s major cities with a reverberating roar of engines and dark clouds of diesel exhaust so thick it dims headlights.”
China’s big cities are deadly and they are getting worse. One of the reason China’s products are so cheap is that they spend nothing to reduce pollutants. The leaders of the nation and the rich industrialists are more concerned with industrial growth then they are about the quality of life of their subjects. When you buy Chinese you are not only helping some young Chinese to live in the cities you are also contributing to early death of city dwellers from lung disease and cancer.
