One European industry after another tells these bureaucrats that carbon legislation will drive them out of business but the bureaucrats think that the world will follow suit and just drive up the cost of everything significantly. This statement by the Iran Foreign Minister is dumb and delusional. Why in the world would Israel use nukes against a rag tag army that was not a strategic  threat to Israel? If Israel takes out Iran’s nuclear facilities and Iran and Syria take military action against Israel it is a whole different ball game.

One has to wonder why Iran is again spouting this rhetoric each day. They either must believe what they say - that would make them delusional, or else they think they can scare Israel off by their belligerent words. But all their words against Israel’s right to exist just makes an attack on their nuclear facilities more likely.

The home life of every child in the country is to be recorded on a national database in the ultimate intrusion of the nanny state, it has emerged.

Computer records holding details of school performance, diet and even whether their parents provide a ‘positive role model’ for 12 million children will be held by the Government.

Police, social workers, teachers and doctors will have access to the database and have powers to flag up ‘concerns’ where children are not meeting criteria laid down by the state.

The ‘children’s index’, which will cost the taxpayer £224 million, will even monitor whether youngsters are eating five portions of fruit and vegetables a day, whether they go to church or are struggling to get good marks at school.

One assessment records whether a pre-school child is in day care - suggesting that those who are looked after by their mothers at home are not conforming to the state ideal.

Critics said the plan would sideline on an unprecedented scale the rights of parents to bring up their children in the way they see fit and amount to a ‘bar-coding’ of youngsters.

They questioned how the Government knew better than parents on the correct way to bring up a child, and warned that it would deter decent families from seeking help for fear of being branded at risk.

It could take just two warning flags on a child’s file to trigger an investigation.

The Council of the Guardians of the Constitution, a 12-man committee of mullahs and their legal advisers, this week rejected applications from nearly 4,000 men and women to run in the March 14 general election. Nearly all the denied applicants belong to the 21 groups designated by Western observers as “reformist” opponents of the ultra-radical President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Although this economic assessment of the US comes from the Left and the solutions it offers comes from those on the Left. The facts and figures presented are true.Obviously the US has spent itself into economic disaster. Where I would differ is that higher taxes and pulling out of the world is not going to solve the problem. We are way past the point of no return. The future obligations of the US can only be paid in dollars that are worth far less than they are today.

That means the next few decades will see a period of hyper inflation in the US where wages and investments will not keep up with the cost of living. It will not be called a depression because prices will rise. Yet, it will have the same impact as a major depression on everyone. Prices for everything will rise much faster than income. Paper money not backed by something tangible will rapidly lose value worldwide.

The US will not pull out of all the areas of the world to save money. It will pull out of the world because it will not have the money to maintain a profession military anywhere in the world. Even military order at home will be done via conscripts.

There is no easy answer for this debt problem. Smaller government obviously would help if there were even a ray of hope of turning this thing around without the collapse of the dollar but there is no such hope.

The reality is that a collapse of the world economic system is only a matter of time. The only hope will be to start all over again with a new currency and new system. Of course doing that would wipe out most assets as well as most debts. Think about what that will mean to you.

Perhaps under the next economic system we will live within our means but I figure the next system will be globally and dictatorially controlled.

To the extent that higher coal costs drove power plants to switch from coal to natural gas, the additional demand for gas would force those prices higher as well. By the way, electricity produced from natural gas already costs about four times as much as from coal.

However, the Christian thing to do is to expose the control freak demonic cult named Islam for what it is before more people get sucked into it. Pretending that Islam is a religion of peace that leads people to God is a lie and a mockery of the truth.

I think when these things air we can expect the usual reaction from those brainwashed by this cult. Their irrational actions will only prove the point.
