Class, your required reading is illegal porn

Here is a perfect example of demented people running a school. They required children to read a book that obviously violates state obscenity laws. But then the state says they cannot prosecute because state and federal obscenity laws exempt school officials from being prosecuted?

I suspect the officials picked the book because they wanted to be politically correct so they stupidly added a homosexual book without knowing much about it. Not that any homosexual book is not perverted, but that is how far we have come in our schools.

Parents might have a look at those bazaar laws and the bazaar people who run their schools. Parents can and should sue and heads should roll. Parents also need to get the homosexual brainwashing agenda out of our schools.

High School Officials Assign Racist “Gay” Porn - CWN

State officials say it violates obscenity law but they can’t prosecute school officialsWashington, D.C. — Deerfield High School in Deerfield, Illinois, had assigned the pornographic book “Angels in America: A Gay Fantasia on National Themes” to students as required reading. When a group of outraged parents found out, they filed a formal complaint.

Now the book has been changed to an “optional title,” meaning kids may still select the book for peer study under the direction of a teacher.

The book is replete with profanity, overt racism through multiple uses of the N-word, an explicit description of a sex act involving Mother Theresa and some of the most graphic, vile and vivid depictions of homosexual anal sodomy every put in print.

This is just sick. As you know I live in one of the world’s most liberal countries and even here I’ve never heard of such plain obscenity being “taught” to students. In fact, I don’t think this would go unheard and many people wouldn’t take this. That such things are allowed to happen at schools in America really blows my mind. Why is nobody standing up against this depravity?! I thought in a country like the U.S. there would be a public outcry against this but apparently nobody cares. Oh well, perhaps it’s no surprise considering who the next president may be.

I think there will be repercussions here but in how many other towns are similar stupidities taking place without the parents knowledge? When they made the Homo lifestyle something that kids have to be taught they stunk up all the school yards. Parents that have lost control of their school boards have no excuse for allowing their children to attend public schools. Having said that, in California, homeschooling is just one court decision from becoming illegal.

Unfortunately I think I know what will happen in America and I am now writing an article on the growing polarization between Liberals and Conservatives and where this will take the U.S.

I think there needs to be some clarification.

Angels in America is not required reading. It is offered in an ap english class taught to seniors. Parents had to “opt-in” their children to the reading assignment. Angels in America is a recommended choice, but students are not required to read it.

secondly, the claim about the book violating obscenity laws may not be true - The state’s attorney said that the claim was not true.

    Thanks for your view.

I quoted what the news article said. The article specifically said it was required reading and after the parents found out it was changed to optional.

    The article also quotes:
“NSSA complained to the State Attorney’s office of Lake County, Illinois, and they agreed that the book violated Illinois’ obscenity statute prohibiting adults from “distributing harmful materials to minors.”

If you have reason to believe the article was in error you might take it up with the author.

Well the article does come from a biased source, i.e. the group fighting against the book. Another article, from an area newspaper, said the following:

“(Lora Sue Hauser) NSSA also talked to the Lake County state’s attorney’s office and claimed that office concurred that the play violated the state’s obscenity statute prohibiting adults from “distributing harmful material to minors.

State’s Attorney Michael Waller disputed that claim, saying it did not violate any criminal statute.”
