Bush opposes bill to sue OPEC for their illegal price fixing

The white house opposes the bill to make OPEC play by free market rules? They say OPEC members own some of our refineries and if we sue them for their illegal activity they might produce less. Oh really? Maybe that is why our refineries are now only running at 85 percent capacity when they should be running at 95 percent.
If they want to play that game we can nationalize their holdings. If OPEC members want to continue the extortion by limiting oil to this country we can accommodate those war games. After all, we control the high seas and we can divert their tankers. In addition, no weapons should be sent to any OPEC nation until they disband this illegal price fixing cartel. Enough of this kowtowing to international criminals!
Pass the bill! If you people do not take real action to do something about the rising price of gas rural poor people are not going to be able to drive to work. You think you have problems now wait until they all march on Washington.

The White House opposes the bill, saying that targeting OPEC investment in the United States as a source for damage awards “would likely spur retaliatory action against American interests in those countries and lead to a reduction in oil available to U.S. refiners.”

The administration said less oil going to refineries would limit available gasoline supplies and raise fuel prices.

Foreign investment in U.S. oil infrastructure has declined in the last decade. But the state-owned oil companies of several OPEC nations are owners of U.S. refineries, and those investments could be affected if the legislation becomes law, said Arlington, Virginia-based FBR Capital Markets Corp
