Which politician running for Vice President really represents mainstream America?

What the Left in this country does not get is that most of America does not think like big city liberals who parade around like elite know-it-all’s throwing out candy to the welfare beggars that they robbed from the productive mainstream.

Most of the Left either live by controlling other people or by taking government handouts. Most Americans are not like the Left they are much more like Vice President choice Sarah Palin. They want government off their back and they want God and patriotism back in our nation.

They think there is no shame for people to be living in trailer homes since they know that these are generally hard working people and that is all they can afford right now. On the other hand, the Left live in their exclusive mansions with tax write offs or else they live in government subsidized housing. But they love to look down their nose and call mainstream hardworking Americans, rednecks, white trash, trailer trash or country bumpkins.

I believe America wants one of their own in office not another professional politician who will represent only special interest groups. Our founding fathers did not set up a Republic to employ politicians for life. The Representatives are supposed to represent the people and Sarah Palin does. That is why she has an 80 percent approval ratings in Alaska and why she will connect with all but the Liberal brainwashes and their brainwashed subjects.

On election day let it be said that there were more people like Sarah Palin in America then there are Coastal and Big City welfare liberals and their controllers. Because if the Far Left takes control of America we will have traded the free independent Republic of the United States of America for just a handful of Obama’s loose change.

American Thinker: Sarah Palin and the Two Americas

Liberals have long lamented the existence of two nations in America. They are right to do so today, but in a way they never meant. It is not the divide between rich and poor which soon will be causing serious pain on the left. Sarah Palin’s pending nomination for Vice President is exposing the depth of the cultural divide between Middle America and the leftists who have taken over the education, media, and cultural establishment of our country.

The announcement of Palin’s selection by Senator McCain last Saturday reportedly triggered outright laughter in newsrooms across the land, a nearly unanimous opinion that she would be a disaster for McCain. To the sort of people who believe themselves sophisPalin “scandal” magazine coverticated citizens of the world and feel a sense of pride at saving the planet by purchasing carbon offsets, a woman who has borne five children is incomprehensible. Add in moose-hunting, a champion snowmobiler husband and a pregnant 17 year old daughter, and the phrases “white trash” and “trailer trash” are deployed.

A desperate race is underway, with the liberal media scampering to define Sarah Palin to the public as a dangerous religious fanatic and naïve hick, some kind of back woods primitive incapable of effectively discharging the awesome job of president, soon to be thrust upon her as John McCain expires right after his inauguration. Tonight, Governor Palin will have her opportunity to speak directly to the American people, and thanks to the blizzard of critical coverage, she will be no doubt attract an enormous audience.

She has the rarest of qualities: authenticity. Media and Beltway types can’t fathom what that is. It goes right over their heads. Not even on the radar screen. Her multiple facets — beauty queen, moose hunter, mother, member of an Assembly of God Church, and ferocious reformer of corrupt politics may baffle sophisticates, but ordinary Americans see all the pieces fitting together, and they recognize a type of person they know and love.

Republicans are thrilled by what they see in Sarah Palin. Reform Republicanism with a younger generation in charge could knock the left out of power for a generation. The genius Sarah PalinBobby Jindal, out to reform Louisiana as Palin reformed Alaska, awaits the 2012 VP nomination with Sarah at the top of the ticket, if McCain wins this election. Suddenly the Republicans have a claim on being the vote for change.

Despite having been written off as a hopeless cause by political insiders and media know-it-alls, the Grand Old Party is about to renew itself amidst catcalls from the opposition. The same sort of swells who laugh at Sarah Palin as trailer trash categorized Ronald Reagan as an amiable dunce when in a charitable mood, spelled his name Ray-Gun, and felt ashamed to have a graduate of Eureka College, not some Ivy League campus, representing America on the world stage.

Ronald Reagan never let the contempt of the cultural, literary and journalistic elites bother him. He simply spoke over their heads directly to the American people. And changed the world. In Sarah Palin, we may well have a figure able to do the same. All eyes will be on her tonight.

New Sarah Palin For President 2012 Website

Forget John McCain: We Want Sarah Palin For President in 2012

Getting ready to work for Sarah Palin, starting today at http://www.palin4pres2012.com

Yeah, but we may get her in office even before 2012 if she becomes VP in 2008. If Obama gets elected, 2012 might be a couple a years too late to late for this nation. In that case we may need to elect Chuck Norris.

It’s comical to see the hysterics on the left over Ms. Palin. :-)

They are SO full of themselves!

They are feeling so much heat from Palin that they need to call in Al Gore who will blame her for melting the Arctic and endangering his pet polar bears.

I’m not as enthusiastic as my brethren over Sarah Palin. She called homosexuality “diversity” that she is not “judgemental” about in the Charlie Gibson interview. She has already fllip-flopped to belief in global warming since joining the McCain campaign. She told Sean Hannity in her interview with him that evolution should be taught in schools. I was talking to a Christian friend about all this, and she told me that Sarah “has to say those things to get elected”. If you even raise the slightest question about her qualifications, fellow Christians will jump all over you. It’s starting to remind me of the way Obama’s fans behave . What is wrong with doing a careful evaluation of these people running for these important offices? People are making the exact same claims about her that they made about George Bush, and look how that turned out.

My other concern about her is her dominionist views. I’m sure she is a believer, but Elijah’s List is touting her regarding God’s Government that they say will take over in 2012. Lee Grady of Charisma says she has the “spirit of Deborah” on her. I know shw can’t help what these people are “claiming” for her, but as Christian citizens shouldn’t we take a breath and find out more before we give our alllegiance to her. Independent Conservative has a video at his site where she has had hands laid on her for “holy laughter” by Rodney Howard Browne. He says most of the videos showing her involvement with these fringe groups have been removed from you-tube. Maybe it’s all much ado about nothing, but I knew almost nothing about Palin before she was selected by McCain, and i want to know what’s true and what isn’t.

I don’t mean to be contrary, and I will probably still vote for McCain because I would never vote for Obama.

I totally agree with you Lauren. Palin is proving to be the typical politician and if she ever gets to be President it might be be the same old song and dance. She separates her personal beliefs from her political position. I do not know how Christians do that. She obviously has bought into post modern thinking to some degree.

I do not know if her views are dominionist because what the fringe loonies say about her means little. It is what she says and does that is important. If she is buying into Word Faith Rodney Howard Browne types I would question her Christian discernment. Having said all that, I think Christians are making too much of her “said” Christian beliefs. She was the most conservative candidate possible for McCain to pick and we should be thankful that he did not pick a Liberal and turn off Conservative Evangelicals to vote for McCain because if Obama wins we will see certain socialism, hate speech laws, and more moral decline.

Palin still reflects the beliefs in the American heartlands while Obama reflects the beliefs in the Liberal coast lands and the big cities. No one who has the extreme beliefs of Latter Rain dominionism could get elected in this country. We need to worry about this election not the one Sarah Palin may or may not be nominated for in 2012.

I’m going to agree with Lauren about not being enthusiastic about Sarah Palin. But my reasons are different. She’s a woman. I don’t believe a woman should be leading men. Period. Call me outdated and old fashioned. I’d prefer to call myself feminine and not a feminist. Thanks to God and His grace and provision in my life, I am a stay at home mom who loves being the primary influence over her children. To teach my children who Jesus is and why we need Him is my primary goal in this stage of my life– not to further a career, get more money, more power, etc. I’m not saying that Sarah Palin nor any other woman who has young children and a job are wrong– not at all. I am not a legalist and the ONLY true liberty we have in this world comes from being a disciple of Christ. I am saying that I love the Titus 2 model that God has given me for my duties as a wife, mother, and sister in Christ. And I agree with God when He says that the head of woman is man (1 Cor. 11:3), therefore, I cannot vote for this ticket. Can God work through anyone– male or female?? You bet. Is this an issue of conscious for me (Romans 14:23)? Probably. I just wanted to throw my two cents in.

    Thanks for reading!

Thanks for your two cents Angela, I agree with your biblical position on the role of women. But, we do live in a secular world that has women in high office so I am not sure that Christian citizens should just let elections go to a known greater evil because one secular political party chooses to have a Christian woman on the ticket that has moral values.

Also if society wants women to work outside the home it seems only right that society would also allow women to rise to the top in their chosen professions. Your saying Christian women should not even be in the position to rise to the top over men but in our society they obviously are and do. So do we now rectify one evil with two other evils? Those evils being not allowing working Christian women to succeed in their chosen profession and allowing a known greater evil to gain political power over our own society.

I’m not voting for Obama/Biden, either.

In my mind, this is how it plays out. If this nation turns socialist or totalitarian as it seems to be doing regardless of who gets elected (the economic “bailout” will be passed and Paulson will have unbridled power; money = power). Eventually, I will not have a choice to stay at home with my children– I will be forced to work and my children will be forcefully indoctrinated with garbage. All the more reason for me to lay a Biblical foundation for them now.

My ultimate point is that there are 3rd party tickets out there. It’s unfortunate that people really do feel that they have to vote for “the lesser of two evils.” I cannot count how many times I have heard that over the past two months, it really does sadden me. By the way: I’m a Libertarian: Power to the individual states (you have a choice which state you live in, no?); our military is to defend America from within her borders, not to police the world (my husband is in the military, and I’ve always felt this way– 3 deployments have just reinforced this); total overhaul of the tax system; cut the government spending and foreign aid; the list goes on and on.

I know that many big ticket supporters get agitated at the likes of my 3rd party voting. But, as your sister in Christ, please know that I am praying about my vote, and I am using the brain that God gave me to research about the candidates and their platforms (or lack thereof). Eventually, when the time comes, God will give me the wisdom to cast the vote that He wants me to cast. I am sure you feel the same exact way, it just might be for a different candidate (again, liberty in Christ is awesome!! and the fact that we may have nothing in common but faith in Jesus, the Gospel, and validity of Scripture and still be united is awesome!!).

Of course, I am very much aware that being a true disciple of Jesus means persecution, and that many tragic, unsettling things must happen in this world before Jesus comes to claim His Church and all that is rightfully His to begin with. That’s just one of God’s truths that keeps me from panic. I thank Him everyday that He left us not with doom, but with undeniable hope.

    God Bless!!

I continue to be concerned about Palin’s connections to Third Wave/NAR beliefs. Below is a link to a video (and some commentary) of Palin having hands laid on her by witch hunting pastor Thomas Muthees. If someones spiritual discernment is so poor, will they have good discernment on other matters? What a horrible choice we have! We can pick socialist Obama, or liberal McCain and Third Wave running mate. Which is more dangerous? I’m leaning toward leaving the presidential spot blank and just voting the rest of the ballot.

Sorry, you have to scroll back up to the top to see the video.

  12. DonNo Gravatar said »

I can not watch videos due to very slow dial up to the Internet where I am at.

We already know we have a horrible choice for President but the greater evil is letting one party control all three branches of our government and the media when we know they stand against everything that we stand for. That is the reality of the situation and that is what Christians are not getting into there head. If Obama gets elected there will be no stopping any of their godless agenda from passing including anti-christian hate speech laws.

The problem with voting for a third party candidate is that we really have a two party system until someone changes this system through a strong grass roots movement. That cannot be done this election cycle. So any vote other than for McCain will in effect be a vote for a much greater evil. That evil is total control by a Far Left Government who hate bible believing Christians.

  13. Lauren said »

Your point is well taken Don. The last thing I want is Obama as president.

  14. AngelaNo Gravatar said »

Grassroots movement all the way!! ;-)

Okay. You have to consider it is the world that hates Christians (John 15:18) not just the “far left government”. It’s not just politicians that are godless. Those w/out Christ are Godless– which at one time we all were (Ephesians 2:1-2).

The government and religion have been good buddies for a long, long time (think Constantine). I’m not saying that is “bad”, I’m not saying this is “good.” Just stating a fact. As Americans, and as Christians, it’s hard for our minds to imagine a country where our freedom to worship is anything BUT taken for granted. If fellowshiping with others and even owning a Bible in this country became an “illegal” thing– wow, can you imagine how many “christians” would drop out?? And how genuine believers would really be seen as genuine while they stood up for Jesus even in the face of persecution??

I appreciate this country. I enjoy being able to easily get my family in the car and drive to fellowship on Sunday. I love being able to open my Bible and read it w/out the fear of someone coming along and murdering me for it. I take it my freedoms for granted constantly. I don’t want it all to come crashing down. I pray that is doesn’t. But…

We have to remember Romans 13!! God already knows who will win this election, even though he has given individuals and nations free will, this old world is still working under His sovereignty. As Christians, we can pray, we can study His Word and make sure that we stand against anything/anyone that comprimises our belief, we can stand against sin, we can be preparred, we can vote, and we can pray some more. Ultimately, God knows what is best and, He will glorify Himself.

That’s why I don’t feel my 3rd party vote is voting for a greater evil. If you want to put things that way, unless any candidate comes out and starts correctly quoting Scripture in the correct context and claiming that they love Jesus (not just that they are “christian” or pray to “god”), and talking about their faith in Jesus and showing the fruit of the Holy Spirit and really, really using their position to proclaim the Gospel, we are ALL voting for “evils”. Jesus Christ is THE Savior of the world/nation/person and NOBODY else. Guess I should write in His name.

Wow. Okay. From the bottom of my heart— Love in Christ!!!

  15. AngelaNo Gravatar said »

Jesus Christ is THE Savior of the world/nation/person and NOBODY else

(to clarify– nobody but Jesus is the Savior. my above sentence could be taken another way)

  16. DonNo Gravatar said »

As Thomas Jefferson said God gives a nation the leader that they deserve.

I guess if people will not vote against the more evil party they will get what they deserve. It is not like the difference is not apparent. Again I want everyone to understand that if McCain gets in there are checks and balances from the other party. If Obama gets in he will have free reign because the democrats will control both houses of Congress and the Supreme Court within a year or two. That is when you will see open attacks on Christianity.

Ask Chuck Baldwin if Romans 13 means what you claim. I believe he wrote a long article refuting the normal interpretation. You might even be able to find it on this blog under his name. So God gave Germany Hitler, Russia Stalin, and China Mao to bear the sword for their good? And where does that leave Christians that were killed by them? I am not so sure that statement applies to wicked rulers.

    I agree.

If that were the case, then our own Declaration of Independence is nothing more than an example of rebellion against the lawful authority of the British Crown. The writers of the DOI specifically addressed that issue and appealed to the highest authority of all: God.

    http://www.ushistory.org/declaration/document/index.htm

It is my understanding (and this might be conspiratorial hogwash, but it might not) that our government has sent representatives to church leaders “urging” them to remind their flocks about Romans 13 when the government starts doing draconian things in the unspecified future.
