San Francisco is a city in open rebellion against God. They say the Catholic Church is hateful, defamatory, insensitive and ignorant but those terms actually applies to the city and county board and those who elect them. Any look at health records would prove that those who practice homosexual perversion have brought increased disease and death. This is what the Bible said would happen and it is also why God forbids the practice.

We have freedom of speech in this country but apparently not in San Francisco. Assemblyman Mark Leno told those who express their views on Homosexuality to get out of San Francisco. There is no question in my mind that San Francisco will receive due judgment from God sooner rather than later for its rebellion.

It is also obvious that there is a demented segment of our society that intends to make Christian religious expression and certain passages of the Bible hate speech in this nation. If the make up of the U.S. Senate becomes more Liberal these laws will pass and these laws will be signed by the next President.

Major U.S. city officially condemns Catholic Church

A San Francisco city and county board resolution that officially labeled the Catholic church’s moral teachings on homosexuality as “insulting to all San Franciscans,” “hateful,” “defamatory,” “insensitive” and “ignorant” will be challenged tomorrow in court for violating the Constitution’s prohibition of government hostility toward religion.

Resolution 168-08, passed unanimously by the City and County of San Francisco Board of Supervisors two years ago, also accused the Vatican of being a “foreign country” meddling with and attempting to “negatively influence (San Francisco’s) existing and established customs.”

It said of the church’s teaching on homosexuality, “Such hateful and discriminatory rhetoric is both insulting and callous, and shows a level of insensitivity and ignorance which has seldom been encountered by this Board of Supervisors.”

Thomas More attorney Robert Muise will present oral arguments in the case tomorrow morning in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. “Our Constitution plainly forbids hostility toward any religion, including the Catholic faith,” he said in a news release.

“In total disregard for the Constitution, homosexual activists in positions of authority in San Francisco have abused their authority as government officials and misused the instruments of the government to attack the Catholic Church. Their egregious abuse of power has now the backing of a lower federal court. … Unfortunately, all too often we see a double standard being applied in Establishment Clause cases,” Muise said.

Openly gay California Assemblyman Mark Leno told protesters of the teen rally that though such religious people may be few, “they’re loud, they’re obnoxious, they’re disgusting, and they should get out of San Francisco.”

Currently, as WND has reported, the states of Colorado and Michigan are tackling the question of whether the Bible itself can be vilified as “hate speech” for it’s condemnation of homosexuality, and Canada has developed human rights commissions, which have decided people cannot express opposition to homosexuality without fear of government reprisal.

You say, we must teach our young people a biblical worldview. How do you do that when they no longer accept absolute truth and will not accept that the Bible is true? What is your biblical worldview anyway? Mine is that we should preach the gospel to every creature because the time is exceedingly short.

You say, we need to learn to have genuine conversations with outsiders and the person you quoted says “knowing how to listen to people is what helps them”. Listening might help them but listening to people never saved anyone. If you want to counsel people on their problems, fine listen to them and them give them the biblical solution, but if you want them to get saved you have to TELL them the truth.

You say, we need a kinder and gentler faith. No, we don’t, we need to be like Paul and be bold and speak the truth without apology. Doing it with gentleness and respect to all people is a given, but evangelism is not trying to use human reasoning to gently nurse people into the body of Christ. People are not rejecting Christianity because Christians are pointing out that they have sin in there lives. They are rejecting Christianity because they choose to live in their sins and they want Christians to rejoice over them living in sin. Yes judging sin is judgmental but the Bible says the saints WILL judge the world.

You also say that the church will be radically different in the next few decades. If it is, it is because the Church has been transformed into the likeness of Christ at the Rapture. I doubt if we have a few decades left in the Church age. But even if the Church remains on earth, the Church is not going to be radically different. Perhaps those who go into apostasy will be radically different, but the Church does not morph or shape shift into some different body of Christ.

Last week I was reading the Wikipedia entry on the State of Israel and noticed that all epoch indications were written as BCE or CE which stand for ‘Before Common Era’ and ‘Common Era’ respectively. I had frequently noticed before that many Wikipedia entries use this system and it was also one of the reasons that lead some people to create a so-called ‘Conservapedia’ as a conservative American alternative to what they see as a far too liberal Wikipedia. But back to the story.

With all this in mind, I thought I’d change all BCE and CE references into the classical BC (Before Christ) and AD (Anno Domini) which as far as I know are still supposed to be the standard in English and should be understood by any English speaker. I was curious whether anyone would notice the change and if so what would be the reaction.

Apparently someone did notice! Just today, about a week later, I got this message:

‘Per Per Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style (dates and numbers)#BC/BCE in articles on religious figures, please do not change to Christian-specific dating schema in articles that have significance with non-Christians as well. — Avi 21:58, 12 October 2007 (UTC)’

I was and still am baffled at this blatant political corectness. Articles that have significance to non-Christians as well? In Dutch, French, Spanish, German and other languages, people use ‘Christian’ equivalents to the English BC and AD and I’ve never heard of anyone, whether Christian or unbeliever, who thinks this is somehow biased. BC/AD and equivalent systems are simply standard in Western languages. It doesn’t have anything to do with religious bigotry.

But apparently that view isn’t shared by Wikipedia as I found out after having taken a look at what the ‘Manual of Style’ says on the BC/BCE issue. It goes like this:

‘Specifically referring to figures important to both Christianity as well as other religions, is it appropriate and/or acceptable to switch from BC to BCE? In these cases, the religious overtones of the nomenclature are enhanced due to the religiosity of the subject, and I feel if the person is is of significant importance to other religions, the less pointedly Christian terminology should be used. I wonder why they haven’t demanded users yet to also use the Islamic or Jewish calendar in the case one writes articles on subjects that cover Islamic or Jewish issues instead of our ‘religiously overtoned’ Gregorian calendar. And don’t forget to use te Jalaali calendar and not the Islamic one when writing about Iran! And remember some Buddhists and Hindus also use their own calendar systems! Don’t you even think about using your bigotted Christian calendar!

Also, is it not odd that they point specifically to ‘Christianity’ whereas in other languages and cultures they wouldn’t change their dating system to that of the ‘Christian’ West either when referring to figures ‘important to both [name of the religion] as well as [Christianity]’? Is it not because the only real bigotry is the anti-Christian bigotry spread by politically correct hardcore liberals that we find on sites like Wikipedia?

The Western dating system uses the birth of Jesus Christ as a reference point. That is why we refer to any event that happened before the birth of Jesus Christ as an event that happened ‘Before Christ’, and what came after His birth is known as Anno Domini, the time ‘after’ Christ’s birth. Whether you believe in Jesus or not, the system based on His birth not only is the standard in Western countries and languages, but also the standard of various international institutions like the United Nations.

Yet for some reason Wikipedia refuses to acknowledge that the BC/AD system is the Western standard and that its ‘Christianized’ equivalents are also used in various other languages. Hardly anyone has ever argued in favor of changing it apart from extremists of all colors which apparently are found in abundance on Wikipedia.
