Just when you think California can not get any more demented they always prove you wrong. This is just another small step in the elitist world socialist fascist program to eliminate the useless eaters. The bottom-line is always the reason for these things. The California government does not want to pay for their medical care. California approves nurse-assisted suicide

SACRAMENTO – California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has officially approved an assisted suicide measure allowing nurses to sedate, dehydrate and starve depressed or confused individuals they consider to be “terminally ill.”

“AB 2747 pushes suicide through the back door at the hands of non-physicians taking advantage of depressed patients,” he said in a statement. “AB 2747 cheapens the value of human life by endorsing suicide as an option.”

The measure allows physician assistants and nurses to decide whether a person is “terminally ill” and deprive them of basic life-sustaining necessities such as food and water.

“Depressed patients who succumb to this pressure will be drugged unconscious and die from dehydration, usually within five to 10 days,” Thomasson said. “Nothing in the bill prohibits this horror.”

Thomasson said Berg “deceptively changed” the bill to appear that “voluntarily stopping of eating and drinking” and “palliative sedation” no longer were on a list of “symptom management” options.

“The bill does not otherwise attempt to expressly define terminal illness that each of these health care professionals would have to diagnose to trigger the offer of counseling end of life option,” Tran said. “It is not clear why nurse practitioners and physician assistants could make such a significant diagnosis. It is further not clear from the bill how making such significant diagnoses on a case-by-case basis can be done by such practitioners and assistants based on so-called ’standardized procedures and protocols’ not further defined by the bill. The potential effect of AB 2747 is extremely broad and could cause irrevocable harm.”

He said the legislation was sponsored by a group called Compassion and Choices, which formerly was known as the Hemlock Society and has advocated for physician-assisted suicide legislation in the past. A founder of the group has praised Dr. Jack Kevorkian for helping more than 100 people die.

Dozens of individuals and groups representing cancer patients, minority rights groups, members of religious communities and hospitals spoke before the Senate Health Committee in opposition to the idea. Also, numerous hospitals and other organizations opposed the measure, includeing California Disability Alliance, California Family Council, California Nurses for Ethical Standards, Mercy San Juan Medical Center, Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital and St. Mary’s Medical Center in San Francisco.

Lets see, I would think that over 8 weeks about 20 of the 58 people would normally be expected to get a cold. Then of the 29 who took the echinacea (ten of these might get a cold in this period ) had 5 fewer sick days than the other 29 that took a placebo? Seems to me that your study supports that those who took echinacea had five fewer sick days and thus probably had fewer colds.

If you are going to publish studies on echinacea publish a study that actually proves something. A study needs to be done on hundreds or thousands of people over a whole season in the way that people are directed to take echinacea. You are not supposed to take echinacea everyday for colds. You only take it when you are exposed to colds or when you are already coming down with a cold to lessen the duration. We already have studies that prove if you take echinacea every day it becomes less effective and might even be worse then taking nothing at all. However, if you take it as directed studies prove it will help prevent colds and lessen the duration of colds.

Surgeon General’s Warning: Gay sex kills

Can you imagine officials at a middle school, junior high or high school setting aside a day to promote “tolerance” for heavy smoking and drinking among children? How about a day where teachers encourage kids to “embrace who they are,” pick up that crack pipe and give it a stiff toke?

Neither can I. The public would go ballistic, and for good reason.

But that hasn’t stopped officials in thousands of schools across the country from promoting other politically correct and socially “in-vogue” behaviors that – both statistically and manifestly – are every bit as dangerous as the aforementioned frowned-upon behaviors.

That’s exactly what the homosexual activist “Day of Silence” is all about – advancing, through clever, feel-good propaganda and full acceptance of the homosexual lifestyle among children.

“[U]nder even the most liberal assumptions,” concluded the study, “gay and bisexual men in this urban centre are now experiencing a life expectancy similar to that experienced by all men in Canada in the year 1871. … [L]ife expectancy at age 20 years for gay and bisexual men is 8 to 20 years less than for all men.”

The risks associated with homosexual conduct are so drastic, in fact, that U.S. health regulations prohibit men who have sex with men, or MSM, and women who have had sex with MSM, from even donating blood.

Consider that, according to the Food and Drug Administration, MSM, “have an HIV prevalence 60 times higher than the general population, 800 times higher than first-time blood donors and 8,000 times higher than repeat blood donors.”

Adults and children who engage in homosexual conduct, especially males, are also susceptible, at an astronomical rate, to nearly all other forms of sexually transmitted disease (STD). For example, the Hepatitis B virus is about five to six times more prevalent among “gays,” and Hepatitis C is twice as common.

But perhaps most shocking are today’s syphilis rates among homosexual men and adolescents. A recent study conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found that although homosexuals comprise only a fraction of the population (1 to 2 percent), they account for an epidemic 64 percent of all syphilis cases.

In light of the irrefutable medical facts, it should be considered criminally reckless for educators to teach children that homosexual conduct is a normal, safe and perfectly acceptable alternative form of sexual expression (or “sexual orientation”).

But instead, the “gay” lifestyle is vigorously promoted in our public schools.

During DOS, children and teachers are encouraged to disrupt the school day by refusing to speak, in a show of support to self-described “gay,” “lesbian,” “bisexual” and “transgender” students. Kids are additionally taught that biblical truth, which holds that human sexuality is a gift from God shared between husband and wife within the bonds of marriage, is “homophobic,” “hateful” and “discriminatory.”

Our schools are supposed to be places of learning, not places of political indoctrination. It’s the height of impropriety and cynicism for “gay” activists and school officials to use good-hearted but misguided children as pawns in their attempt to further a deceptive, highly controversial and polarizing political agenda.

I know where I stand on this issues. Drinking was in common place in the early church but obviously getting drunk was being a every day drunkard was not acceptable. Martin Luther and John Calvin and the Catholics believed it was a gift of God. It still is considered that by most in Christianity today used in moderation. Having said that it is not acceptable to get intoxicated in the worship service but moderate use should be acceptable in feasts and social gatherings.

Abuses mostly by the world led certain feminists into pushing their own views on everyone through dominionist laws while most of the men were off to war. It ended in prohibition and those laws only brought in bootlegging and major organized crime.

We have these same feminists and legalistic people in some churches today who twist scripture to make it say what they want it to say rather than what it actually says. All wine in the days of the early church had some alcohol content since their was no refrigeration. One of the major problems of the church in our generation is this feminization of the church. There is simply nothing wrong with having a couple beers or some wine in order for men to mellow out  with each other in social situations in this very difficult world. The medical community has documented published papers on the benefits of moderate amounts of alcohol. Beer and wine are simply given by God for man’s use not abuse.

If you believe it is a sin to use alcohol or it causes you to sin then it is a sin for you to use it. However, to dictate your unique twisting of scripture to the the rest of the church is actually doing more harm then good.

According to the study, at this point, homosexual men are 13 times more likely to contract the potentially deadly, drug-resistant strain of Staph infection, but the fear is that, because the infection is spread via skin-to-skin contact, homosexual men may soon spread it to the general population.

Numerous countries in Europe are encouraging parents to vaccinate young girls against HPV in order to prevent cervicical cancer. Some of these countries are likely to require girls to get this vaccination in the near future. In fact my own sisters are probably going to have to get vaccinated against it.

I’m firmly opposed to this. After all, how do you get HPV? By having unsafe sex. The form of HPV they want girls to be vaccinated against is a sexually transmitted disease, like HIV.

The root cause of the spread of STDs and the increase in diseases like cervicical cancer in young girls is due to the loss of values in sexuality. You can require as much vaccinations and place as much condom vending machines in schools as you like, as long as you don’t address the root cause of the problem, STDs are here to stay. On the other hand, some people say that if your daughter gets raped, you’ll be glad she was vaccinated. Odd as it may sound, there’s truth in that since you can get away with 2 years in prison for rape in my country. But then step one for me would be to re-establish capital punishment for rapists. There can be no excuse for rape.

This is just one example of how the governments representing Western civilization think adultery is okay and do nothing to discourage it. They promote lifestyles that are rebellion to God. The spread of sexual transmitted diseases is the natural price (and punishment) society is paying for rejecting God’s will regarding sex. I feel insulted that my sisters may be required to be vaccinated as if they belonged to the crowd living in rebellion and lawlessness.

If you have not noticed, science has reversed itself often more than once on just about everything it ever said in the last 50 years. That ranges across the spectrum from how to raise children, how to brush your teach, what to spread on your bread, how much dust is on the moon, to climate science.
