The Internet vulnerability is almost as big a threat as an EMP

From what I know a determined enemy would not have great difficulty in taking down the whole Internet. It probably could even be done by a well trained coordinated terrorist group. I have come to the conclusion that any website or any target can be brought down fairly easily. To bring down the whole system would just take a larger more sophisticated effort and that is very likely in a war.

We need to realize that the Internet is not reliable or secure and we should not be controlling our critical infrastructures and just-in-time-inventories solely relying on the Internet as it is designed now. One of these days we are going to wake up and the whole Internet system will be down and it is not going to come back up anytime soon. Then what is the back up plan? Going back to the 50’s without inventories or electronics? How will you even get your money out of the bank? Try buying something at a store with a charge card when the Internet is down.

The Internet needs to be completely redesigned from the ground up making security the primary issue. Either that or just use the internet for fun and games and information but don’t ever think it will be there for corporations, finance and government to communicate after a sophisticated attack by an enemy. Like the EMP threat our society is betting it’s whole future on access to those 1’s and 0’s. There is no access to those databases of 1’s and 0’s if the electricity is out or communications between electronic devices are no longer there.

Revealed: The Internet’s Biggest Security Hole | Threat Level from Wired.com

Two security researchers have demonstrated a new technique to stealthily intercept internet traffic on a scale previously presumed to be unavailable to anyone outside of intelligence agencies like the National Security Agency.

The tactic exploits the internet routing protocol BGP (Border Gateway Protocol) to let an attacker surreptitiously monitor unencrypted internet traffic anywhere in the world, and even modify it before it reaches its destination.

The demonstration is only the latest attack to highlight fundamental security weaknesses in some of the internet’s core protocols. Those protocols were largely developed in the 1970s with the assumption that every node on the then-nascent network would be trustworthy. The world was reminded of the quaintness of that assumption in July, when researcher Dan Kaminsky disclosed a serious vulnerability in the DNS system. Experts say the new demonstration targets a potentially larger weakness.

Why a vote for a Democrat in our national government might be a vote to end our Republic.

No Gravatar

A Democratic Party President, a Democratic House and a filibuster proof Democratic Senate would be the end of this nation as we know it. When are people going to realize that this secular humanist amoral Democratic party is not the Democratic party of our fathers? The national party is now controlled by radical left wing elitist power brokers. It is a fifth column of elite that wants to force the U.S. to conform to the socialist globalist rules of the UN and the EU.

We would be a Left wing Fascist socialist nation in no time. Within a year or two they would have a liberal Supreme Court to uphold their unconstitutional laws and anything Obama, Harry and Nanny wanted they would get. The whole U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights would be redefined by godless socialists. By the end of term they will have changed media laws, they will have put into effect anti Christian hate speech laws and they will have made broad political changes that will insure that they stay in power. Somewhat like Putin and his Fascist people are now doing in Russia.

Even if they do not get their filibuster proof majority in the Senate it does not mean that we are out of the woods. If there is a Democratic President the scum suckers will try to change the Senate rules and stop filibusters all together and they will probably succeed. The only reason these bottom feeding scum suckers have not attempted to do that already is that they know that a Senate rules change now would not help them with a Republican President in office who would veto their bills.

So gee…nothing less then our Republic is on the line during the next election. So if you want to live under left wing Fascism you know how to vote. I find it simply unbelievable that so many people in this nation continue to vote for a national party that has not taken a correct moral stand on any significant issue in decades. Don’t you people even believe what your religion teaches? If not quit pretending! Admit you believe in nothing but how the government can give you a free handout.

Don’t count on being able to remove these bottom feeders in four years like some say will happen either. By then the rules of the political game will have changed and they will have muzzled free speech. We could even be under Marshall law. You will need a military coup to get the scum suckers out of office if that happens.

Don’t also count on the U.S becoming some Christian socialist paradise through the liberals passing huge give away programs and bailouts that this nation cannot afford. The failed economic polices of socialism will put us in the worse economic times in the history of this nation. We are in trouble already because of a democrat controlled House and Senate. Just one example is the cost of gas. Why do you think gas is four dollars a gallon? It is because liberals would not let people drill where there is significant oil or build refineries for twenty years.

Left wing naive wishful thinking will bring foreign policy miscalculation against Iran, Russia, and others that will probably put us in the third world war. So vote for a Democrat and also sign up for the draft.

You cannot say you were not warned when you still go ahead and vote for that Democrat.

(Of course I am mainly  talking about national candidates not all democrats running for local offices)

RealClearPolitics - Articles - Democrats Aim for a 60-Vote Senate

Here’s an intriguing thought: The John McCain-Barack Obama fight isn’t this season’s biggest political story. That honor should be reserved for the intense Democratic push to win a filibuster-proof Senate majority.

Democrats know this is a huge prize, and they are throwing at least as much money and sweat into that effort as they are into electing Mr. Obama. What isn’t clear is that voters are as aware of the stakes. An unstoppable Democratic Senate has the potential to alter the balance of power in Washington in ways not yet seen.

Mr. Reid won’t necessarily need 60 votes to hold Washington’s whip hand. With a contingent of blue-state Republicans (think Maine’s Olympia Snowe), Mr. Reid could peel off votes and have an “effective” filibuster with just 57 or 58 seats. That may not be enough to accomplish every last item on his wish list, but close.

That wish list? Take a look at what House Democrats (who aren’t burdened with a filibuster) unilaterally passed last year: The biggest tax increase in history; card check, which eliminates secret ballots in union organizing elections; an “energy” bill that lacks drilling; vastly expanded government health insurance; new powers to restrict pharmaceutical prices. Add to this a global warming program, new trade restrictions (certainly no new trade deals) and fewer private options in Medicare.

The answer my friend is not blowing in the wind

No Gravatar

Windmills are ridiculous as a primary source of power for this nation. The article I quote will give you some reason why.

I will give you some others. I live near windmills and it almost caused a revolution where they are being built. They have ruined a once beautiful area and nobody want to live around them. Even in this excellent article many important points were not addressed. The killing of the birds was not addressed. Where will all the steel and copper come from to build the hundreds of thousands of windmills that would be need?

Do these people think windmills do not have environmental impact? They need to think again. They have to mine huge amount of Iron to make the steel. Where do they think the copper comes from for the generators and power lines? It has to be mined. You think copper prices are high now let them build hundreds of thousands of wind generators and see what happens. Also, does anyone think it does not take huge amounts of power to build the factories and to produce the steel to make all these windmills? Then they have to be shipped to a site by many vehicles that use energy and tare up the roads. The windmills have to be erected and anchored on a solid foundation. The trees have to be cut down meaning that these areas will no long produce lumber or be carbon negative. The windmills will have to be maintained by maintenance crews who ride major sized off road vehicles. The windmills only have a limited life span and they will have to be replaced when they fail. There will have to be major back up power for when the wind is not blowing etc etc.

So lets cut through the bull about windmills being the answer for America’s energy needs. They are not. The fat cat billionaires that proposes this stuff do not live in the real world they have no common or scientific sense. All they see is opportunities to make more billions at your expense.

Hot air about wind power

At www.scitizen.com, Kurt Cobb worked the numbers. Generously, he presumed the windmills would use 5-megawatt turbines – generating three times the output of a typical 1.5-megawatt turbine. He compared that with a 500-megawatt fossil-fuel (coal) power plant needed to power a city of 300,000 people. A typical power plant, he noted, would cover 300 acres, but use only 30 of those for the actual facility.

Cobb calculated it would take 233 5-megawatt wind turbines to equal the coal plant’s output, since the wind doesn’t blow constantly. Each would need to be spaced 2,065 feet away from the others (five times the diameter of their 413-foot rotors). Adding the rotor diameters to the spacing requirement equates to a 110-mile long line of windmills, half a mile in width.

It comes to 55 square miles. That’s to provide electricity for a town of 300,000 people.

Going back to Kurt Cobb’s calculations, if we wanted to meet the electric needs of 300 million Americans rather than only 300,000, we’d need a half-mile swath of windmills, each of them hundreds of feet high, 110,000 miles long, crisscrossing the continent 40 times between New York City and Los Angeles.

That’s a lot of land to condemn. The cost would be in the hundreds of billions of dollars, since each large windmill costs millions.

New York State’s largest windmill farm to date, the $400 million Maple Ridge project, features 195 medium-size (400-foot high) windmills, part of a windmill surge in upstate New York sparked by state and federal incentives. That project has generated great controversy even in its rural setting. According to area researcher Dr. Nina Pierpont, it has also created “wind turbine syndrome,” a variety of ills such as inner ear problems, headaches, difficulty sleeping, ringing in the ears, mood disorders, irritability, panic attacks and child misbehavior, all attributed to the low-frequency rumblings of the windmills.

There are practical problems, too. If the structures are put totally in the boondocks, massive new transmission lines must be built to carry the power to where the people are.

All this to generate power that is more expensive than our current power plants, even after major taxpayer subsidies are factored in.

Whether onshore or offshore, the gigantic areas involved to harness wind power will bring their own unintended consequences. The director of the Center for Global Change Science at M.I.T, Ron Prinn, warns that erecting enough windmills to replace fossil fuel power has adverse environmental impact. Prinn says those would “take significant momentum out of the atmosphere, so there’d be less penetration of wind to the ground surface.” Translation: You change the wind, and you change the weather.

Al Gore, why aren’t you speaking up about this?

Wake up America! There is a perfect storm brewing.

No Gravatar

Frank Salvanto says we have a perfect storm coming from two enormous threats. The denial of the Islamic threat and the fifth column called the progressive Left. This storm will destroy this nation if the American people continue to ignore the threat. I would also add a third and fourth enormous threat. The economic storm brought on by debt and greed, and the perversion storm rapidly developing out of moral relativism. Wake up America! There is a perfect storm brewing and its not going to be a tempest in a tea cup.

The New Media Journal | Ignoring ‘The Perfect Storm’ at Our Own Peril by Frank Salvato

The mainstream media and the presumptive nominee from the Democrat Party have done a pretty good job of steering the electorate’s attention to issues of a domestic nature. It wasn’t hard to do. With gasoline prices hovering around four dollars a gallon, combined with the self-induced but limited financial crisis created by proprietary lenders and a healthcare system that’s being raped by grifting lawyers and robber-baron insurance companies, it is easy to understand why voters would fall prey to diversionary tactics of the political power seekers. But we do so at the expense of the well being of our nation. We do so ignoring “the perfect storm.”

politicians consistently put politics, power and financial special interests before the issues most important to the American people: A small, elite group of Progressives, beholden to the environmental lobby, uses their governmental powers to usurp the will of the people by refusing to allow drilling in places we know there are oil deposits; politicians on both sides of the aisle pander to an illegitimate voting demographic in the illegal alien population for fear that if they stand up for America’s sovereignty they may be voted out of office by those who shouldn’t be voting in the first place; politicians of both major political parties refuse to banish the earmark and reserve the right to raid the government treasury to provide bribes to their constituencies in an effort to garner re-election; the tax code continues to overburden the middle class and penalize the family while expanding entitlement increases the number of those feeding from the public trough and the mega-rich evolve into an elitist class; etc, etc, etc…

Our nation faces two enormous threats, one externally and one from within, and we do so without a proper understanding of why we should be fighting them both with every fiber of our collective being.

why would any elected official, true to good government, deny the enormity of the threat posed to the United States and the West by radical Islamist elements?

The second serious threat is less immediate and less violent, but caustic and lethal to the American philosophy and the continued existence of our country just the same. This threat comes from the American Fifth Column; the threat from within.

Emanating from the failed ideologies of Marxist-Leninst socialism and communism, the American Fifth Column dedicates itself to the transformation of the United States from a representative republic to a system of democratic socialism. This movement is personified by the progressive-left that has effectively hijacked the Democrat party.

Through unconstitutional entitlement programs and the legislation of inequitable tax burden on those who have successfully employed the capitalist system to their benefit, those leading the American Fifth Column strive to artificially create economic equality through the redistribution of wealth. Ironically, those who lead the American Fifth Column have established an elitist class for themselves, as most of them are millionaires (like Nancy Pelosi) and even billionaires (like Peter Lewis and George Soros). They do so to reduce the “influential footprint” of the United States on the world in a quest for a one-world order administered by the elite.

Interestingly, the progressive-leftists of the American Fifth Column are playing the roll – either unwittingly or recklessly – of the useful idiot to radical Islam’s quest for a global Caliphate.

So, the people of the United States face these two incredibly potent threats – each which could affect the end of the great American experiment – yet we are apathetic to the threat. Why? Because we face these challenges constitutionally illiterate.

Our educational system has been hijacked by progressive-left ideologues.

It is time that parents from all over the country – all over the world – embrace the idea that we have to take charge of educating our children.

America has plenty of oil but Congress and environmentalists are hindering development.

No Gravatar

Some of what is in this article is what I have been implying on this Blog for months. We do have the ability to solve our energy problems and we can do it without T. Boone Picken’s self serving windmill scheme.

Actually our energy problem can be solved through free enterprise if only Congress, the environmentalists and the courts stopped hindering our oil development. If the hindrances were removed for national security reasons we could develop in short order all the $2 a gallon gas we need and we would have it for hundreds of years to come (adjusted for inflation).

Patrick Briley — Empowering Americans for Energy Independence

Oil and investment mogul and tycoon T. Boone Pickens has been telling Americans that they “have no control over the price of gasoline and diesel” and “cannot drill their way out of an oil crisis.” While Pickens is correct to point out that the US has become too dependent on foreign oil, his statements are misleading and very incorrect.

America does have the ability to produce enough oil from drilling and from coal, tar sands and shale to not only control, lower and stabilize gasoline, diesel and jet fuel prices but to make the US independent of ALL foreign energy sources for over a hundred years even before the US would need to turn to significant numbers of nuclear fission and/or fusion electricity generating power plants.

Civics 101. We do not need one House of Representatives member from each state but we do need election reform.

No Gravatar

Well Chuck Norris, I usually agree with you and I see the problem but your solution is not at all logical and it would not bring good government. We already have two separate branches in the legislator branch of government to deal with the representation problem. What you are proposing would effectively do away with the role of the House of Representatives. The Senate has two representatives from each state because that government body is meant to give equal representation to each state in the Union. However the House of Representatives is supposed to represent the population of the nation. The point of this is not to have a bunch of low population states dictating law to high population states at the national level. If you reduced the House to one member from each state as you suggest you would just have a second Senate. So the states would be doubly represented but the people of this nation would not have equal representation at the nation level.

If we were to do what you suggest we might as well become 50 independent nations or go under a unified treaty like what the EU is proposing and let unelected bureaucrats be appointed by the Senate to dictate federal governance over all the states (of course if we did that we would soon be under tyranny)

The problem is not the number of representatives in the House of Representatives the 9 percent approval rate reflects that these people are not representing the people or more likely that the nation is so divided that they can accomplish nothing.

We need to start electing representatives to the House that represent the common people. That means the make up of the House should not all be professional politicians and lawyers. That would take care of part of the problem but like I said, much of the reason the House and Senate can do nothing is because the people in this nation are deeply divided. That problem cannot be resolved in a Republican without a majority vision or compromise.

One thing we can do is to have major election reform. Incumbents have a huge fund raising advantage and media coverage advantage. Money should not be a factor in national elections but it is now the major factor. If it were not, the make up of the House would change overnight.

Mad as h— and not going to take it anymore!

I don’t only think there are too many cooks in Congress’ kitchen nowadays, but the numbers are stacked in discriminatory ways. For example, if California represents a larger liberal voice with its 53 representatives, what chance or how fair is it for smaller more conservative states who have between one and five representatives and votes in the House? The U.S. doesn’t need a new reapportionment act to raise the number of representatives, but a return to the Constitution to reduce the number of representatives in pursuit of creating more equitable regions or districts. Personally, I believe, just as we have one governor per state, we should consider reducing Congress to one representative and two senators per state (the minimal by constitutional requirements). If one representative works for Alaska, Delaware, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Vermont and Wyoming, why can’t it work for all the rest of the states? Here’s a movie we all can star in: “Honey, I shrunk the Congress!”

Obama is out of touch with what Americans believe but they still support him?

No Gravatar

I think the statistics on Obama in this article will give you an idea of just how radical Obama is and how far his views differ from the vast majority of American people. With that in mind why is Obama leading in the polls? Blind stupidity? Brainwashing? What?

American Thinker: Obama: Radical in Liberal Clothing

Yet even with his recent attempts at moderation he retains positions on several significant issues indistinguishable from those of Dennis Kucinich. Most of those positions are opposed not only by overwhelming majorities of all Americans, but in several cases, majorities of Democrats as well.

Whenever a proposition polls in the 60% range, it’s considered to be in landslide territory. That doesn’t necessarily mean that someone supporting the minority viewpoint is a nut or an extremist, but at some point it may fairly be said that a person on the short end of several of these propositions is out of the mainstream. Here are just some of the issues in which Obama’s on the fringe of American opinion:*

Why Obama will be tested by the Islamics if elected?

No Gravatar

It is weak presidents that lead to miscalculations and war. Zumwalt did not even mention that JFK also got us into the war with Vietnam. With the facts of this article in mind if Obama gets elected we can expect a test of Obama’s metal by Islamic radicals in the first year of Obama’s Presidency. We really should not be putting people in the White House in troubled times that are idealistic unrealistic dummies. Inexperience will not be Obama’s only problem it is his unrealistic worldview.

Islamic Extremism for Dummies - HUMAN EVENTS

Obama’s JFK analogy conveniently omits two important points: it was Kennedy’s perceived weakness that precipitated the Cuban Missile Crisis; it was not his negotiation talents that extracted him from it.

It was the absence of Kennedy’s backbone in the Bay of Pigs invasion that then led to the Cuban Missiles Crisis the following year. Emboldened by Kennedy’s earlier misadventure, the Soviets secretly positioned missiles in Cuba — drastically reducing US response time in the event of a missile launch by Moscow. This led to a test of wills between Moscow and Washington that brought the two superpowers to the brink of war.

Inexperience and naivete in the White House would come back to haunt the US again seventeen years after the Bay of Pigs disaster. An American public anxious for change voted into office a US president whose later actions paved the way for Iran’s Ahmadinejad.

As civil unrest hit Iran in 1979, Jimmy Carter pressured Tehran’s pro-US Shah to abandon his country to a man Carter believed to be Islam’s Mahatma Gandhi — the Ayotollah Ruhollah Khomeini. This “Gandhi” turned out to be more like Attila the Hun. Khomeini embarked upon a purge grander than the reign of terror introduced by the French Revolution’s Robespierre almost two centuries earlier. Carter’s naivete provided Islamic extremism with a national flag and a breeding ground for exporting Islamofascism abroad and into the 21st century. America’s reward for Carter’s assistance was the seizure of the US embassy and hostages there, followed by Tehran’s designation of the US as the “Great Satan.”

We have been in a perpetual and undeclared war with Iran ever since.

Of course, the Iranians already knew, from Obama’s earlier actions, he would be a weak-kneed leader. They gained this insight last year when Obama refused to vote for the Kyl-Lieberman amendment, which sought to label the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps — the organization of holy Islamic warriors that has left its violent footprint throughout the region — on the grounds it constituted “saber-rattling.” Color as “weak” — from Iran’s viewpoint, and ours — any US leader who refuses to officially label a terrorist group as “terrorists.”

Ignoring the fact the only times Iranian extremists reigned in their adventurism was in the face of US resolve, Obama believes he, as president, is capable of talking rationally with an Iranian leadership incapable of doing so. It is inexperience that causes one to boast he can do what three-decades of domination by theocratic extremism in Iran’s leadership and the failure of the international community in curtailing Tehran’s nuclear program tells us cannot be done

Democratic fools for Obama

No Gravatar

Does anyone with a brain actually believe that Obama is qualified to be President of the U.S.? Does the average person even know what Obama believes on anything? Sure, he has a lot of support from people who cannot tell you where Canada is located. Much of America has been brainwashed and pre-programed to just go along to get along and that about sums up their formal “education”. Oh sure, they can tell you who Paris Hilton is having breakfast with. They have a form of intelligence but they are about a deep as Hilton is. Don’t believe me ask the youth some political questions.

The scary thing is that we allow these dumb fools to vote in people like themselves to govern. Without knowledge and understanding these people will destroy this nation. Our founding fathers did not set up a Democracy for good reason. They only let the educated vote because the educated had the knowledge to vote in the knowledgeable. When the dumb foolish majority got the right to vote they soon started voting in people like themselves. Thus, you should understand the present make up of the Democratic party. Without this majority generation of dumb fools there would be no Obama running for President.

The only Thomas Jefferson these people who would vote for Obama would know is the that is living on the next block.

AD: Democrats Continue to Make Fools of Themselves - JB Williams - Jun 18, 08

Allow me to begin by stating for the record that I realize how politically incorrect it is to single out a specific group of people and acknowledge their overtly foolish behaviors. But it seems we have reached a moment of insanity, when enough really should be enough!

It seems I need to give a speech to Democrats, which I have given to my children on several similar occasions. As Forest Gump learned from his Momma, “stupid is as stupid does.” People, who persist in doing stupid things, must sooner or later be referred to as “stupid!” We have reached that point with the average Democrat voter I’m afraid…

The one thing in the world Democrat politicians might be right about is the need for their voters to be saved from themselves…

As I have explained to my children, ignorance is the absence of knowledge, but stupidity is the possession of knowledge and the refusal to use it intelligently. As we are talking about obvious fundamental truths here, not nuclear physics, an absence of knowledge is not the problem.

Democrats think Obama is Qualified to be Commander-in-Chief

Yet Democrats can not name a single life achievement, or even a single life experience, which qualifies Obama to be president of the most complex and powerful nation on earth. The man thinks we have 57 states… or so.

For the record, Barack Hussein Obama is a first term U.S. Senator. Obama served only 146 days as a new senator before deciding he was qualified to be president, at which time he largely stopped his duties as senator to campaign for the Oval Office.

I understand why they are uncomfortable with having anyone point out just how foolish they are behaving, in their blind cheerleading for the most unqualified individual to ever seek the Oval Office. But at some point, don’t we really have to call it like it is.

As Thomas Jefferson so wisely pointed out, “If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be.”

What domestic oil shortage? Shale, coal and tar sands at $50 a barrel is feasible today.

No Gravatar

The case is made that we could get all the oil we need out of coal and that we have more oil potential in coal than there is in the entire oil reserves in the world. Coal is already being made into oil in South Africa for about $55 a barrel. I would think that it would take a number of years to gear up in the U.S. and government and the radical environmentalists would have to get out of the way. Yet, coal is not all we have.

We also have oil shale reserves with more oil in them than the entire Middle-East reserves. Oil shale will be even easier and more enviornmentally friendly to get out of the ground than coal. It is much the same as drilling for oil except the necessary extra steps done below ground will still make oil profitable at $50 a barrel. So both oil production methods could produce all the oil we need for hundreds of years and give us gasoline for about $2 a gallon. I have not even talked about the oil sands of Canada that are just as huge.

So don’t let anyone tell you that we do not have the capability to get off of foreign energy dependency. That might be the party line but those who say such things are either ignorant, they are lying or they want crazy environmental restrictions. The only thing that is stopping development of all these resources is politicians. It is Congress and their government regulations.

If it were announced today that the U.S. would develop these resources on a unlimited scale oil futures and oil prices would drop like a rock half the price today is speculation. Also OPEC would panic and try to gear up production to lower prices below the price that we could develop these new resources in order to retrain their monopoly on oil. In that case, we would have to set a floor price and put a tariff on imported oil to keep it up to a price where these new resources could be developed and not undercut by Middle-East oil producers that extract their easy oil at less than $4 a barrel.

FrontPage Magazine

This in effect means that as long as the price of crude oil remains above $55 a barrel – and there is every reason to believe it will – America can enjoy fuel self-sufficiency for as long as the eye can see.

It is important to grasp the full import of this: Unlike all the other ideas and proposals for achieving oil independence, coal conversion represents no false hope or wishful thinking but an eminently feasible and realistic possibility.

No new inventions, no technological breakthroughs, no extensive infrastructure modifications, no lengthy testing, no public investment or government incentives are required to make it happen. Everything is already in place to bring it about

All that needs to be done is to remove any artificially imposed impediments that may stand in the way. Most of them are in the form of environmental rules and regulations which make energy production such a difficult and problematic enterprise in this country.

As far as the environment is concerned, coal conversion and its derivatives are cleaner than their crude oil counterparts. There is technology to capture the CO2 released during the liquefaction process and the resulting diesel and kerosene have lower sulfur content than those refined in the conventional way. As a result, during the combustion process they release fewer particulates and less nitrogen oxide then their petroleum cousins. Such, in fact, is their purity that they are often referred to as ultra-clean fuels. This should go a long way toward assuaging environmental concerns.

The rising energy prices have made it possible for America to commercially utilize its enormous coal reserves and to become fuel independent in the process. The only thing required at this point is for government not to interfere with market forces which inexorably incline toward this outcome.

What makes anyone think that Obama is a Christian?

No Gravatar

Joe Farah is under attack by “People for the American Way” for saying that Obama is not a Christian. Farah gives good reasons why he is not. Not to even mention Obama’s stand on abortion and homosexuality.

Is Obama really a Christian?

In an amazing coincidence, several other pundits and columnists discovered this 4-year-old interview in the Chicago Sun-Times after I wrote about it. I know it was a coincidence because none of them cited my column for bringing this information to their attention after all these years.

But, I digress.

The interview reveals Obama, who calls himself a Christian, has no concept of what it means to be a follower of Jesus.

He states, for instance, that he has no idea of what will happen to him when he dies.

He suggests his eternal destination has something to do with being a “good father” to his children and transferring values he got from his atheist mother.

He says there are many paths to heaven.

In other words, he doesn’t have a clue as to what it means to be a Christian. That, of course, is not surprising given the only church experience he has had in his life has come in that hate-filled, racist, neo-Marxist, liberation theology-based Trinity United Church of Christ. There “Christianity” is used to sell other religions altogether – anti-Americanism, black victimization, socialism.

Legislating America to the living standards of Mexico

No Gravatar

The Senate is now debating a bill that would be the biggest hidden tax increase in the history of this nation. It probably does not have the votes to pass this year and Bush will veto it anyway. However, what they are doing is laying the ground work for next year when they think they will have the votes to pass it and know they will have a President that will sign it.

This legislation is plain nuts. But the politicians want to be seen as doing something about global warming because so many people in the U.S. have allowed themselves to be brainwashed by the media and Al Gore. Politicians want to get reelected and they are not going to take a unpopular stand. The truth of the matter is that most American people have no idea what this will cost them and they do not know the true facts about Global warming either. If they do not get educated in the next 7 months they better get ready for a great depression that will lower their living standards in half.

You must understand that even without this carbon tax legislations the U.S is likely to be in for an extended downturn by early next decade. The government is planning additional social give away programs that will increase taxes and stifle our economy. The retiring of the baby boon generation will lead to a fall of our productivity and our $50 trillion unfunded liability debt to pay for social security and Medicare makes it certain that American’s standard of living will continue to decline for decades. Add the cost of this carbon tax to the mix and I hope you like living on rice and beans in your un-air conditioned home and taking public transportation everywhere for the next fifty years. Expect a living standard much like that of those living in Mexico today. So who will you blame when you get what you asked for?

We Don’t Need a Climate Tax on the Poor - WSJ.com

With average gas prices across the country approaching $4 a gallon, it may be hard to believe, but the U.S. Senate is considering legislation this week that will further drive up the cost at the pump.

The Senate is debating a global warming bill that will create the largest expansion of the federal government since FDR’s New Deal, complete with a brand new, unelected bureaucracy. The Lieberman-Warner bill (America’s Climate Security Act) represents the largest tax increase in U.S. history and the biggest pork bill ever contemplated with trillions of dollars in giveaways. Well-heeled lobbyists are already plotting how to divide up the federal largesse. The handouts offered by the sponsors of this bill come straight from the pockets of families and workers in the form of lost jobs, higher gas, power and heating bills, and more expensive consumer goods

Let me end with a challenge to my colleagues. Will you dare stand on the Senate floor in these uncertain economic times and vote in favor of significantly increasing the price of gas at the pump, losing millions of American jobs, creating a huge new bureaucracy and raising taxes by record amounts? The American people deserve and expect a full debate on this legislation.

Mr. Inhofe, a Republican senator from Oklahoma, is ranking member of the Environment and Public Works Committee.

A nation stuck on stupid

No Gravatar

Many in this nation are stuck on stupid and this Demented Delusional and Dumb Club Blog helps document that fact. You say we as a nation must remind ourselves what truth and lies look like, victim and criminal, good and evil, etc.

Those not dumbed down have been attempting to educated the stupid people in this nation to do that for a long time and you see where it is getting us.

I think you are preaching to the choir. How do you get a nation stuck on stupid to change when stupidly is the hallmark of the “education” system, lies are presented as truth by media and a stupid watered down gospel is preached from the pulpits?

Perhaps it is time for the astute to start a new nation. I no longer think the brainwashed people are teachable.

Laurie Roth — Stuck on Stupid Syndrome is Growing

We must as a nation remind ourselves what truth and lies look like, what evil and good looks like and what victim and criminal looks like! Empathy and “rights” are nice when offered first and foremost to our people, our military and our citizens. There is a point where “stuck on stupid” syndrome doesn’t cut it anymore. We MUST take back our courts and demand common sense Judges. We MUST take back congress and demand they get clear about good and evil and right and wrong. We must not allow persecution against parents and home schoolers, border patrol doing their jobs, military being brave in service, those trying to protect our children from predators and those fighting fearlessly against Islamic Radicals. We can save our country people. It is up to us.

Liberal address: Government of the morons, by the morons, for the morons shall not perish from the earth

No Gravatar

Besides the authors two possibilities there is a third possibility. So A new liberal American government of the morons, by the morons, for the morons shall not perish from the earth.

Governing morons

Results of the law of unintended consequences are writ nowhere larger nor more plentiful or diverse than on the halls of government in Washington, D.C. Here, a body that was designed to manage the affairs of state has now morphed itself into the personification of omniscient beneficence. From this exalted position it now sees its job as one of wiping away ever tear from every sobbing, suffering citizen (two tears, if you an illegal sobbing, suffering non-citizen).

As to why this repeatedly happens (within the context of this column’s title), I can think of two possibilities:

First, those governing America could be morons. After all, they make these legislative blunders not occasionally, but regularly, after which the problem usually becomes worse. Their usual response is to create follow-on legislation that, well, keeps them in business by making the problems that arose from the initial legislation designed to solve the now-forgotten original problem, well – worse.

Second, our government may be creating legislation suitable for governing a nation of morons. These would be people who believe that the federal government is their nanny, and that it’s Uncle Sam’s job to wipe the various parts of their anatomy clean when they make a boo-boo, clean up the mess after them, and kiss their owie and make it feel better.

Managing the climate better than God using blond models?

No Gravatar

This article gives some fine examples why global warming models are stupid. They are dumber than blond models on spring break. You cannot have good computer projection models if you do not have the knowledge to enter into the model nature’s production of CO2 or nature’s consumption of CO2.

We are not even close to understanding atmospheric science so it is only vanity to pretend that we can predict and control long term climate. It is better left to nature, God already built in very good checks and balances into our atmospheric system, it is self correcting. All of man’s laws will not have one percent of the control over our earth atmospheric system then will natural forces out of man’s control.

Man’s actions with his very limited knowledge will just cause catastrophes, as it already has. It is bringing disruptions in energy and bringing high food prices to the poor, and the loony control freaks have just gotten started. Thinking man knows the best climate for the earth and that he can control it is vanity and it will turn out to be a very expensive exercise in delusion and futility. The main thing it will actually accomplish is to give power over our lives to the looniest, faithless control freaks on our planet.

American Thinker: Vanities of the Warmists

The “progressives” and their “grand thoughts” of the age seek to “manage” the globe in the same “modern” way our ancestors “managed” Yellowstone. Like our ancestors of yore, today’s environmentalists believe the government can control the environment better than Mother Nature can. Are we to suppose that the people who give us the DMV and the IRS are going to “manage” the globe in the same efficient and benevolent manner? In the grand scheme of things are we supposed to believe that we humans are actually better than Mother Nature at “managing” the global environment? For some reason, the enviro-nazis of the age seem to believe that Mother Nature is some kind of octogenarian Alzheimer’s patient and they’re the designated colostomy bag.

“The result is that we’re trying to base policy on flawed models that are no better than ancient shamans reading tea leaves. The enviro-nazis are no better than the medicine man of lineage ancient during a lunar eclipse who could claim that the great night spirit was eating the moon goddess, and if only the tribal elders would hand over the virgins he’d perform his incantations and make him spit her out again.”

Educated to be stupid

No Gravatar

This is an interesting perspective with quite a bit of truth. What I understand from the figures in this article and from what I knew before I read this article is that the world is not capable of ruling themselves through democracy. The schools and media have educated the world to be stupid. Therefore the world still needs the educated elite to run the world for them because they haven’t got a clue. By the way, that is what the ruling elite also believe and that is why democracy is a facade put on by the elite to appease the dumbed down commoners.

American Thinker: Who’s Your Daddy? The Psychology of Most People’s Voting

Some voters still embrace their personal freedom and the responsibility that comes along with it. They study the issues and they vote on the issues. But sadly, they are a distinct minority. Don’t expect the American people to vote on issues. They almost never do. My guess is that more people will vote on how the candidate looks than what the candidate thinks. They vote for whoever meets their personal psychological needs. Thus someone like John McCain can lead the Republican Party even though the “party’s issues” run contrary to his thinking.

Most people don’t like Hillary and can’t imagine her as a parent figure, unless it is the ‘Mommy Dearest’ type.

Obama isn’t old enough to inspire parental psychological needs and the religious mass movement that is driving his campaign will probably falter because of weak faith.

McCain is a hero parent who will protect us from danger, and most people like him. Most Republican voters will overlook his policy positions, just like they overlooked strong and protective Rudy Giuliani’s liberalness. Unless McCain screws up and shows signs of being a bad Dad, McCain will probably win.

Dreams from Obama’s puppet masters

No Gravatar

Ann haven’t you heard, half of city people do not even get through high schools? If they can even read these have little reading comprehension. Americans don’t nominate loons like this one because they have intellect. Most get the little information that they can retain from talking heads on TV who get their brainwashing instructions from the power elite running the world. Ann you do not still believe the facade of democracy, do you?

Obama’s Dimestore ‘Mein Kampf’ - HUMAN EVENTS

If characters from “The Hills” were to emote about race, I imagine it would sound like B. Hussein Obama’s autobiography, “Dreams From My Father.”Has anybody read this book? Inasmuch as the book reveals Obama to be a flabbergasting lunatic, I gather the answer is no. Obama is about to be our next president: You might want to take a peek. If only people had read “Mein Kampf” …

Nearly every page — save the ones dedicated to cataloguing the mundane details of his life — is bristling with anger at some imputed racist incident.

Southern fried Global warming hysteria takes first prize

No Gravatar

The Southern Baptist Convention leadership is now supporting global warming hysteria. They say the threat is too grave to wait for perfect knowledge about how people contribute to the warming trend. Apparently they think Baptists need to provide support to this junk science inducted hysteria that will cost the world trillions of dollars and put everyone under the management of the world’s control freaks. They say, “Baptists have a Biblical duty to stop global warming”???? Are they nuts??

I would like to know what is so grave about the warming? The .7 degree rise over the last 100 years that might have been reversed last year? Is that grave?? Or is the grave threat to the planet the junk science computer model horoscopes that cannot even model known past climate, yet predict future climate? Should Baptists consider junk science to be a grave threat?

Here, I thought sin was the grave threat to the earth and that Jesus is the radical answer? No. the Baptist leadership tells us the grave threat to the planet is CO2 levels!

Which all proves to me that the Southern Baptist Convention leadership has little discernment on world issues, yet spiritual issues. No wonder they are buying into postmodern theology. Who asked them to tell Southern Baptists what they should support on environmental issues anyway? Next, they will be telling us like the Pope that there is significant evidence for evolution so we we should believe that as well, as long as it does not conflict with our own version of biblical truth.

While I am on my soap box let me just say that the papacy of Nashville already says way too much about worldly issues. They often put their womanly world views in every quarterly magazine used in almost every Southern Baptist Church. Listen you Southern Baptist pastors, have you ever tried teaching the Bible on Sundays in your church without Lifeway’s input? That link will give you much more about what I have to say on that issue.

My suggestion to the Southern Baptist leadership is to get back to teaching the truths of the Bible and stop spending your time trying to help the dead bury the dead!

FOXNews.com - Southern Baptist Leaders Issue Surprising Call to Fight Climate Change - Local News | News Articles | National News | US News

NEW YORK — In a major shift, a group of Southern Baptist leaders said their denomination has been “too timid” on environmental issues and has a biblical duty to stop global warming. The declaration, signed by the president of the Southern Baptist Convention among others and released Monday, shows a growing urgency about climate change even within groups that once dismissed claims of an overheating planet as a liberal ruse. The conservative denomination has 16.3 million members and is the largest Protestant group in the U.S.

A little white lie helps keep blacks enslaved to government

No Gravatar

A little white lie helps keep blacks enslaved to the Democratic Party of government sponsored poverty.

The truth about Democrats and blacks

Did you know that Dr. Martin Luther King was a Republican?I sure didn’t – till I read Ronald Kessler’s arresting column on the Internet just recently. He was liberally quoting Frances Rice, chairman of the National Black Republican Association, in which she was describing the Democrat Party as the “architect of modern day racism.”

This was just the first of many fascinating and surprising accusations from someone who is certainly in a position to know what she’s talking about. She’s a retired Army lieutenant colonel and lawyer, and she avers that it was Republicans who pushed through much of the ground-breaking civil rights legislation in Congress – and that the GOP still stands for empowering blacks to help them out of poverty, more than the Democrats. In contrast, she says, the liberal party pushes programs that keep her fellow blacks dependent on government handouts and temporary “fixes,” and encourages them to see themselves as victims.

She even charges that in every election cycle, Democrat operatives fan out into the black communities and preach hatred against the Republican Party, to get them to cast protest votes against perceived prejudice. And this activity has succeeded insidiously, convincing several generations of black Americans that the Democrat Party is their only hope.

What do America’s energy laws and the people American’s elect prove?

No Gravatar

All the leading candidates talk about freeing us from foreign oil dependence but none of them have a clue about how this can be done. They say one thing to please those who want cheaper energy and they pass laws that will make cheaper energy impossible. They buy oil from enemies and bar oil products from friends so they can be politically correct on junk science CO2 theory.

All of the leading candidates are clueless people but that is the choice that America has made to lead them. A country gets the leadership the people deserve.

FOXNews.com - Junk Science: Candidates Fail Energy Independence Test - Opinion

Now, if the federal government is barred from bio-, tar sand, coal-to-liquid fuels, how long will it be before such a ban spreads to contractors that do business with the federal government, to states and their contractors, and then, by default, to the nation as a whole? It’s hard to take the presidential candidates, President Bush and Congress too seriously on the energy independence issue when none of them opposed a bill that actually makes us more dependent on OPEC.

Hard evidence for global cooling!

No Gravatar

Wow! Grasp the implications of this data. The temperature drop of the earth last year if sustained will wipe out all the warming of the earth for the past 100 years.

I also would like you to look closely at the graph in the article. The earth has not warmed anymore at all for the past decade. Now it looks like the solar output of the sun has decreased. Who knows how cold it might get? This data was for last year but we are still having record cold in many places on earth right now. Also sun spot solar activity is almost nil and if solar activity does not increase it will fit theories that indicate that we are heading into a 160 year cooling cycle.

Will people at least tell the legislators to hold off on their CO2 legislation before they cost us many billions of dollars for no reason and stop electric power plants run on coal from being built.

The big future danger to the earth could be global cooling because that effects the growing seasons of crops and if the earth stays this cool it will require more energy to heat our homes.

Please pass this information on to everyone in the world because most major media is not making this global cooling story the headline story it should be.

DailyTech - Temperature Monitors Report Widescale Global Cooling

All four major global temperature tracking outlets (Hadley, NASA’s GISS, UAH, RSS) have released updated data. All show that over the past year, global temperatures have dropped precipitously.A compiled list of all the sources can be seen here. The total amount of cooling ranges from 0.65C up to 0.75C — a value large enough to wipe out nearly all the warming recorded over the past 100 years. All in one year’s time. For all four sources, it’s the single fastest temperature change ever recorded, either up or down.

Scientists quoted in a past DailyTech article link the cooling to reduced solar activity which they claim is a much larger driver of climate change than man-made greenhouse gases. The dramatic cooling seen in just 12 months time seems to bear that out. While the data doesn’t itself disprove that carbon dioxide is acting to warm the planet, it does demonstrate clearly that more powerful factors are now cooling it.

Let’s hope those factors stop fast. Cold is more damaging than heat.

The social gospel manipulators of the gullible chosen clueless.

No Gravatar

Carter and Gore know very well how to use psychological pier pressure and brain washing tactics. They stack the deck with a rousing speech using junk science mixed with biblical language taken out of context and apply it to a hyped man caused stewardship problem that is not even hinted at in scripture.

Without any opposing viewpoint offered what-so-ever to Al Gores junk science they then take a quick show of hands and dare anyone to descent and subject themselves to stoning. Then they tell the world the vote was unanimous. That is the tactics used by these socialistic fascists. They twist truth to support their own agenda of deception, global governance and and secular humanistic control over the world. Hitler, Stalin and Mao would be proud. Shame on the leaders of these churches that are involved in this satanic deception,  they are incredibly gullible because they do not know the prophetic scriptures and they have lost any ability to discern fiction from truth.

clipped from frontpagemag.com
Naturally, Carter loved Gore’s climate scare-mongering and warnings against
dissent. “How many of you think we should join Al Gore in being one of the
strongest voices on earth?” the former president enthusiastically asked.
”Does anyone disagree? OK, now you see that was a unanimous vote. Thank
you very much.”Ostensibly distressed over theological “fundamentalism”
among Southern Baptists, Carter’s new coalition of left-leaning Baptists seems
to prefer a political fundamentalism of the left that tolerates no skepticism
about the most alarmist Global Warming theories.

The coming politically driven energy crises

No Gravatar

Using faulty logic John McCain equates cutting CO2 with cutting our dependence on foreign oil. The facts say just the opposite. His beliefs will just bring a politically driven energy crises in the near future. Only coal can significantly cut our dependence on foreign oil for at least the next decade. If these people stop new coal plants from being built they will drive the costs of electricity through the roof and only make us more dependent on foreign oil and gas.

clipped from www.foxnews.com

McCain continued, “But suppose we do nothing … and we don’t
eliminate this $400 billion dependence we have on foreign oil. Some of that
money goes to terrorist organizations and also contributes to greenhouse gas
emissions. Then what kind of a world have we given our children?”

Earth to McCain: U.S. coal-fired electricity doesn’t put a
penny in the pockets of Middle East oil producers or terrorists. In fact,
inexpensive coal-fired electricity could one day power vehicles so as to
drastically cut down on gasoline use and the need for the oil imports that
concern him. If we don’t have serious debate on these issues, the combination of
unscrupulous anti-growth environmentalists and uninformed grandstanding
politicians certainly will lead to lights out for America.

Sherlock Homes lived on Churchill with three stooges

No Gravatar

This article explains why young people just believe what media stars and politicians tell them. They never learned any facts for themselves and they cannot determine truth from fiction. You might wonder what they are teaching your children in school all day?

I suspect that Jay Leno does not have to make much effort to find the airheads for his Jaywalking routine.

You do know Churchill was make-believe, right? That, at least, is what nearly a quarter of British teens recently told pollsters for the British TV channel UKTV Gold. Meanwhile, 58 percent thought Sherlock Holmes was real, and 47 percent called Richard the Lionheart a fictional character.

This is one of those news stories that pop up with some regularity, highlighting how ignorant people on both sides of the Atlantic are about their own civilization. It’s a slightly more scientific confirmation of Jay Leno’s man-on-the-street “Jaywalking” segment, in which he asks passersby brainteasers such as, “Where was the Vietnam War fought?” or, “When did the War of 1812 take place?”

A survey of teenagers conducted by the National Constitutional Center found more students able to name the Three Stooges (59 percent) than could name the three branches of U.S. government (41 percent). A 1999 survey of students at 55 elite colleges and universities found that 40 percent couldn’t place the U.S. Civil War in the correct half-century. Given that the U.S. hasn’t been around for five half-centuries yet, I wonder how many guesses these students needed.

The theories about where oil came from are probably wrong

No Gravatar

It is starting to look like oil is produced by the earth. That allows for a young earth theory as well. If the abiotic theory is correct there will continually be new oil finds.
