Christians in Wisconsin should be outraged over spanking felony charge

No Gravatar

Someone needs to spank the people who charged this father with a felony for doing what was right. All Christians and reasonable people in Wisconsin should be outraged. All involved in this abuse of state power should be sued and public officials should be removed from office. If you do not stand up for these things now your rights to bring up your Children as God ordained WILL be taken from you. All who were involved in this abuse of justice deserve my Demented Delusion or Dumb Club award

Pastor charged with felony for spanking son

A Wisconsin pastor has been charged with felony physical abuse of a child after he spanked his 12-year-old son for lying and a teacher notified social services.

Barry W. Barnett Jr., 43, of Poynette, Wis., is free on a $10,000 bond, but he could face up to three years in prison and fines for disciplining his son, the local Portage Daily Register reported.

At the pastor’s hearing, Barnett’s son said his father was right to spank him .

“He gave me a chance to tell him the truth, and I just kept lying to him,” the boy said.

The boy said his father gave him two “swats” that “hurt a little” on his rear end in June. He told authorities both he and his dad cried while he was disciplined.

The 12-year-old said he was warned he might receive a spanking if he continued to act up and that he understands what he did was wrong.

“You should not lie to your parents and you should not go to places (where you are not allowed),” he said.

One of his siblings mentioned the spanking to a teacher, who called social services, according to the report.

Memory Police

No Gravatar

Government “state-ordained truth” memory police are telling writers that they can only write the politically correct version of historical facts even if it is a lie.

Timothy Garton Ash: The freedom of historical debate is under attack by the memory police | Comment is free | The Guardian

Among the ways in which freedom is being chipped away in Europe, one of the less obvious is the legislation of memory. More and more countries have laws saying you must remember and describe this or that historical event in a certain way, sometimes on pain of criminal prosecution if you give the wrong answer. What the wrong answer is depends on where you are. In Switzerland, you get prosecuted for saying that the terrible thing that happened to the Armenians in the last years of the Ottoman empire was not a genocide. In Turkey, you get prosecuted for saying it was. What is state-ordained truth in the Alps is state-ordained falsehood in Anatolia.

Let me be clear. I believe it is very important that nations, states, peoples and other groups (not to mention individuals) should face up, solemnly and publicly, to the bad things done by them or in their name. The West German leader Willy Brandt falling silently to his knees in Warsaw before a monument to the victims and heroes of the Warsaw Ghetto is, for me, one of the noblest images of postwar European history. For people to face up to these things, they have to know about them in the first place. So these subjects must be taught in schools as well as publicly commemorated.

Governor Blunt accuses Obama of using Missouri Law Enforcement for intimidation of critics.

No Gravatar

This accusation is being made by a governor of a soverign U.S. state. It is not being made by some obscure figure. Just think of what Obama’s people will do if he ever gets into the Presidency. If you think it will not happen you do not understand the fascist Far Left that is once again taking control of many nations of the world including ours. If you think you can get the Far Left out of power once they control everything you are very naive. We know the Left media will not report this but where is the Attorney General of the U.S. ?

State of Missouri-Governor’s Press Announcements - 2008

JEFFERSON CITY - Gov. Matt Blunt today issued the following statement on news reports that have exposed plans by U.S. Senator Barack Obama to use Missouri law enforcement to threaten and intimidate his critics.

“This abuse of the law for intimidation insults the most sacred principles and ideals of Jefferson. I can think of nothing more offensive to Jefferson’s thinking than using the power of the state to deprive Americans of their civil rights. The only conceivable purpose of Messrs. McCulloch, Obama and the others is to frighten people away from expressing themselves, to chill free and open debate, to suppress support and donations to conservative organizations targeted by this anti-civil rights, to strangle criticism of Mr. Obama, to suppress ads about his support of higher taxes, and to choke out criticism on television, radio, the Internet, blogs, e-mail and daily conversation about the election.

The energy shortage in the U.S. only exists because certain politicians want it.

No Gravatar

In spite of what you have been told the U.S. has the largest oil potential than any other known area in the world. We have enough oil in shale to last for hundreds of years. If we actually went all out to produce these resources we could be a oil exporter in a few decades. By the way, Shale oil can be recovered with present technology with little environmental impact and produce gasoline for less than $2 a gallon but since it is on federal land congress has put it off limits for energy development.

So frankly the energy shortage has more to do with politics than anything else. When you have two trillion barrels of oil in reserve and 1/4 of the coal deposits on earth you do not have a energy shortage unless certain people want you to have an energy shortage.

American Thinker: The Myth of No Oil

Predictions of nationwide oil supply exhaustion soon became regular occurrences, with seven made prior to 1950[2], even though the United States was the world’s largest crude oil producer until 1973. Indeed, through the mid-1980’s, most oil consumed in the country was of domestic origin. Today, however, the United States imports the majority of its oil and, due to environmental regulations, has not authorized the construction of new refineries since the mid-1970s.

Yet, our country does not lack adequate oil resources. Rather, supply estimate methodologies seriously undercount our true oil resources. This and our lack of political will to use advanced recovery technologies contribute to the myth of no oil. This myth hobbles our ability to draw on our own existing resources and keeps us in a dependent posture, looking to others to provide for us.

A potentially significant supply of oil is trapped in shale in the American West. Rocks in Colorado, Utah and Wyoming alone are believed to contain over 1,500 billion barrels of oil. Previous government experiments with shale oil production were labor and energy intensive and environmentally disruptive, producing little oil. But efforts by private companies have revolutionized the extraction technology with development of an in situ process of heating rocks, trapping oil and extracting it profitably at oil prices of just over $30 a barrel. Shell Oil, the leader in this new technology, estimates that it will be able to produce one million barrels of oil per acre.

Meanwhile, it is estimated that oil production from tar sands in Canada and South America would add an additional 600 billion barrels to the world’s supply.[5] Canada, which does not segregate conventional oil from tar sands, is currently the largest U.S. oil supplier with about half of Canadian crude derived from oil sands. This oil is forecast to reach 3 million barrels per day in 2015. The Economist[6] recently noted that there exist “174 billion barrels of proven reserves in the oil sands of Alberta” alone.

Another technology, coal liquefaction to produce oil, becomes competitive when the price of conventional oil is higher than $30 per barrel, according to U.S. Energy Department estimates. The coal-to-oil process produces natural gas and removes pollutants that are released when coal is burned to produce electricity. With the United States possessing 27% of the world’s coal supply, U.S. coal-to-oil production could be substantial. South Africa has been producing petrol and diesel from coal since 1955 and currently produces 40% of the country’s oil from this source.

A consensus of liars puts the world in real danger for global cooling.

No Gravatar

There never was a consensus of climate scientists saying that global warming was man caused. It was all made up by the world power elite controlled bureaucrats and their media.

Read the real story and read about the real consensus of scientists that agree that global warming is not any danger to this planet. In fact, there is now more danger from what now appears to be a global cooling trend.

The liars now have society so brainwashed that now even when the earth is cooling and likely heading toward a dangerously long term cold trend all you still hear in the media and from the politicians is the global warming danger and the CO2 threat.

These greedy power brokers and socialist fascist control freak idiots are putting the world in economic danger and the danger of real energy shortages at a time when the absence of sun spot activity seems to be indicating that we are heading toward a long term global cooling. This energy shortage and cooling could bring energy crises worse than any you can imagine along with world crop failures and famine.

It is time to get these wacko environmentalists off of our back and to put leaders into place that will develop all energy sources regardless of the release of beneficial CO2.

Michael Coffman — Consensus? What Consensus?

CONSENSUS? WHAT CONSENSUS?

By Dr. Michael S. Coffman Ph. D.
September 10, 2008
NewsWithViews.com

We have all heard the litany in the news that 2,500 scientists working in conjunction with the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) agree with a 90 percent certainty that man is causing potentially catastrophic global warming. They even received the Nobel Peace Prize, along with Al Gore, for their exemplary work in the field. This, we are told, is a solid consensus having very few dissenters. The problem is that this so-called consensus is a myth – it never existed. Ever!

Outraged with the sheer duplicity of the press and warming alarmists, OISM launched the same petition again in 2008. They used a subset of the mailing list of American Men and Women of Science, a who’s who of Science, to mail the petition requesting the recipient to sign the petition if agreed that Kyoto was a danger to humanity.

The results, reported last May showed that 31,072 scientists, 9,021 of whom were Ph.D.s, signed the petition. Every signature has been vetted for authenticity.

Ironically, using the Freedom of Information Act, it has been proven that the so-called 2500 scientists the IPCC claims make up their “consensus,” are really not scientists at all. Of that total, only 308 scientists reviewed the 2007 IPCC report. Many of them disagreed, some strongly so. Not surprisingly, all of their comments were rejected and not included in the report. The remaining 2192 so-called scientists came from all walks of life; politicians, government bureaucrats, social workers, and apparently even a hotel manager. Less than 40 of the 308 scientists were generally supportive of the hypothesis, and less than 5 actually endorsed the report. Yet, the report was hailed by the media as the consensus of thousands of scientists.

Putting this into perspective, for every 1 scientist who even slightly favored the IPCC conclusions, 792 signed the petition saying there was no convincing evidence that there is man-made catastrophic global warming. For every Ph.D. that endorsed the IPCC report, 1800 signed the petition. If anything, there is a scientific consensus that man is not responsible for global warming. What did the media do with this potentially explosive story? They ignored it, as usual. A few, like Fox News, were gracious enough to have a byline on their website. Only the conservative media highlighted this phenomenal story.

It would seem the media, and by extension, the people who depend on it for accurate news, would rather believe a lie than the truth. This realization led Dr. Ross McKittrick, who discredited the hockey stick theory of the 2001 IPCC report, to lament, “We are now at the stage where mere facts, reason, and truth are powerless in the face of the global warming propaganda.” It is a scary thought, but he is correct. Ignorance and propaganda now form the basis of our policy on climate change (and many other environmental issues). We are treading a dangerous path.

Jonathan Freedland says the world will not like us if we do not elect their Obama.

No Gravatar

Awwwww! Maybe you Europeans ought to get it into your socialist godless heads that Americans don’t want your stinking system. If the rest of the world does not like us for rejecting a mouth with no judgment and his Far Left socialist programs they do not have to come here to live. Obama’s programs will cost us a trillion dollars in new taxes. We don’t want them. Keep your fifty percent tax rates over there.

Maybe you should take something for that sinking feeling that you British liberals get in your stomach when America elects a conservative. May I suggest taking a biblical course and a course on the U.S. Constitution as a remedy. We are not like you and we will never be like you unless we start to elect people like Obama.

My golly! A woman who mentions that God blesses a state and nation when there heart is right with God is just too much for Jonathan. We can’t have that kind of narrow minded Christian thinking in godless Europe can we? Gee Jonathan, where did your name come from? Was it the Bible? Maybe you should change your name like Obama did. “Obedient Slavedland” seems about appropriate to me.

In America someone is going to lose the election sure enough, so if those in the blue states want to whine about losing all the time they might try putting up a candidate that does not always come from the Far Left reaches of their party. You know, that part of the Democratic Party that mostly appeals to elite control freaks and their brainwashed subjects. The subjects that tend to be mostly government welfare lazies and kids in rebellion that will not even get off their butt to vote.

The American election is not a global ballet, Jonathan. We don’t tell you how to vote so don’t presume you know what is best for Americans. We could care less what persons around the world would vote for because they are not voting for our leader. We are! I am sure all the leftist dictators around the world will be jumping for glee if Obama wins, we would expect nothing less. If America really was so out of touch with what is right in the world, the world would not need us to keep bailing their butt out of the fire all the time. You ought to thank the God you do not believe in that there has been a America with good judgment.

Now you know why the majority of us in the U.S. will not vote for that leftist media promotion called Obama and if we do you better run for your life because the world is suddenly going to become a very unstable place.

What you do not get is that the dispute with you Europeans has always been with the Americans themselves and not with our ruling clique. Our government is a government of the people, by the people, and for the people. We are not a government of the elite like Europe. We want so little to do with Europe that most of our ancestors departed from it because of your evil. If it were not for the fifth column of Leftists that have taken over the American media and educational system you would find out just how conservative the heartland of America really is.

Stick that thought in your pipe and suck on it. It should soon give you such a deep sinking feeling in your stomach that maybe you will want to give up writing stupid commentaries about some great black socialist hope for America and the world. You also might realize that the EU is not in the free world.

Jonathan Freedland: The world’s verdict will be harsh if the US rejects the man it yearns for | Comment is free | The Guardian

The world’s verdict will be harsh if the US rejects the man it yearns for
An America that disdains Obama for his global support risks turning current anti-Bush feeling into something far worse

The feeling is familiar. I had it four years ago and four years before that: a sinking feeling in the stomach. It’s a kind of physical pessimism which says: “It’s happening again. The Democrats are about to lose an election they should win - and it could not matter more.”

Remember, this is a woman who once addressed a church congregation, saying of her work as governor - transport, policing and education - “really all of that stuff doesn’t do any good if the people of Alaska’s heart isn’t right with God”.

If Sarah Palin defies the conventional wisdom that says elections are determined by the top of the ticket, and somehow wins this for McCain, what will be the reaction? Yes, blue-state America will go into mourning once again, feeling estranged in its own country. A generation of young Americans - who back Obama in big numbers - will turn cynical, concluding that politics doesn’t work after all. And, most depressing, many African-Americans will decide that if even Barack Obama - with all his conspicuous gifts - could not win, then no black man can ever be elected president.

But what of the rest of the world? This is the reaction I fear most. For Obama has stirred an excitement around the globe unmatched by any American politician in living memory. Polling in Germany, France, Britain and Russia shows that Obama would win by whopping majorities, with the pattern repeated in Africa, Asia, the Middle East and Latin America. If November 4 were a global ballot, Obama would win it handsomely. If the free world could choose its leader, it would be Barack Obama.

If Americans choose McCain, they will be turning their back on the rest of the world, choosing to show us four more years of the Bush-Cheney finger. And I predict a deeply unpleasant shift.

Until now, anti-Americanism has been exaggerated and much misunderstood: outside a leftist hardcore, it has mostly been anti-Bushism, opposition to this specific administration. But if McCain wins in November, that might well change. Suddenly Europeans and others will conclude that their dispute is with not only one ruling clique, but Americans themselves. For it will have been the American people, not the politicians, who will have passed up a once-in-a-generation chance for a fresh start - a fresh start the world is yearning for.

Which politician running for Vice President really represents mainstream America?

No Gravatar

What the Left in this country does not get is that most of America does not think like big city liberals who parade around like elite know-it-all’s throwing out candy to the welfare beggars that they robbed from the productive mainstream.

Most of the Left either live by controlling other people or by taking government handouts. Most Americans are not like the Left they are much more like Vice President choice Sarah Palin. They want government off their back and they want God and patriotism back in our nation.

They think there is no shame for people to be living in trailer homes since they know that these are generally hard working people and that is all they can afford right now. On the other hand, the Left live in their exclusive mansions with tax write offs or else they live in government subsidized housing. But they love to look down their nose and call mainstream hardworking Americans, rednecks, white trash, trailer trash or country bumpkins.

I believe America wants one of their own in office not another professional politician who will represent only special interest groups. Our founding fathers did not set up a Republic to employ politicians for life. The Representatives are supposed to represent the people and Sarah Palin does. That is why she has an 80 percent approval ratings in Alaska and why she will connect with all but the Liberal brainwashes and their brainwashed subjects.

On election day let it be said that there were more people like Sarah Palin in America then there are Coastal and Big City welfare liberals and their controllers. Because if the Far Left takes control of America we will have traded the free independent Republic of the United States of America for just a handful of Obama’s loose change.

American Thinker: Sarah Palin and the Two Americas

Liberals have long lamented the existence of two nations in America. They are right to do so today, but in a way they never meant. It is not the divide between rich and poor which soon will be causing serious pain on the left. Sarah Palin’s pending nomination for Vice President is exposing the depth of the cultural divide between Middle America and the leftists who have taken over the education, media, and cultural establishment of our country.

The announcement of Palin’s selection by Senator McCain last Saturday reportedly triggered outright laughter in newsrooms across the land, a nearly unanimous opinion that she would be a disaster for McCain. To the sort of people who believe themselves sophisPalin “scandal” magazine coverticated citizens of the world and feel a sense of pride at saving the planet by purchasing carbon offsets, a woman who has borne five children is incomprehensible. Add in moose-hunting, a champion snowmobiler husband and a pregnant 17 year old daughter, and the phrases “white trash” and “trailer trash” are deployed.

A desperate race is underway, with the liberal media scampering to define Sarah Palin to the public as a dangerous religious fanatic and naïve hick, some kind of back woods primitive incapable of effectively discharging the awesome job of president, soon to be thrust upon her as John McCain expires right after his inauguration. Tonight, Governor Palin will have her opportunity to speak directly to the American people, and thanks to the blizzard of critical coverage, she will be no doubt attract an enormous audience.

She has the rarest of qualities: authenticity. Media and Beltway types can’t fathom what that is. It goes right over their heads. Not even on the radar screen. Her multiple facets — beauty queen, moose hunter, mother, member of an Assembly of God Church, and ferocious reformer of corrupt politics may baffle sophisticates, but ordinary Americans see all the pieces fitting together, and they recognize a type of person they know and love.

Republicans are thrilled by what they see in Sarah Palin. Reform Republicanism with a younger generation in charge could knock the left out of power for a generation. The genius Sarah PalinBobby Jindal, out to reform Louisiana as Palin reformed Alaska, awaits the 2012 VP nomination with Sarah at the top of the ticket, if McCain wins this election. Suddenly the Republicans have a claim on being the vote for change.

Despite having been written off as a hopeless cause by political insiders and media know-it-alls, the Grand Old Party is about to renew itself amidst catcalls from the opposition. The same sort of swells who laugh at Sarah Palin as trailer trash categorized Ronald Reagan as an amiable dunce when in a charitable mood, spelled his name Ray-Gun, and felt ashamed to have a graduate of Eureka College, not some Ivy League campus, representing America on the world stage.

Ronald Reagan never let the contempt of the cultural, literary and journalistic elites bother him. He simply spoke over their heads directly to the American people. And changed the world. In Sarah Palin, we may well have a figure able to do the same. All eyes will be on her tonight.

Obama’s loose change is enough to purchase big government bondage

No Gravatar

Listen to the words of Chuck Norris about the loose change that jingles in the head of Barack Obama. The problem with Obama’s change is that all it will buy is socialistic big government bondage.

Puff, the magic Obama!

As I listened to Obama’s speech, which mentioned “change” roughly 15 times, I thought, “I wonder how many of those 80,000 in attendance (and millions more watching by television) realize what type of change is really coming with Obama?” I’m not saying change isn’t needed. It is.

I want change in government, but not the type that will increase its role in our lives. I want change for our government to better adhere to and follow the Constitution, but not the type that appoints liberal judges and justices who legislate from the bench. I want change with America’s relationships with the rest of the world, but not the type that further compromises our national security. I want change with America’s role in the Middle East, but not the type that creates instability and gives al-Qaida the upper hand again. I want changes in our medical care, but I don’t want more big government and billions of dollars in new taxes. I want change with America’s deficit, but not the type that increases it. I want change at America’s borders, but not the type that creates more holes for terrorists and other illegal transport. I desperately want change in the tax code, but not one that ultimately raises taxes (only a Fair Tax eliminates most).

But all those types of changes are exactly what Americans will experience if we elect Barack Obama as president: More government, more taxes, more fluid borders and boundaries, more globalization and more risks with terrorism. Let there be no doubt about it – we will have change with Obama, but, America, I assure you it is not the type of change we need or want.

Hillary Clinton once mocked and ridiculed the depth of Obama’s experience and message. Bill Clinton called Barack’s candidacy the “biggest fairy tale” and even recently still couldn’t tell an ABC News correspondent that Obama was yet qualified or ready. Even Obama’s own VP choice, Joe Biden, echoed the same sentiment just a short time ago by saying about Obama: “The presidency is not something that lends itself to on the job training.” Biden and the Clintons are still correct. Obama is in reality nothing more than an inexperienced, liberal radical. He can trumpet a campaign of change, but all the political pomp and circumstance can’t change his insides or lack of leadership experience.

As with so many of you, I realized months ago Obama could unfortunately get away with just about anything because too many Americans seem to care only about charisma and the term “change.” It doesn’t matter if Obama plagiarizes speeches, who his pastor and spiritual mentor is for 20 years, that he’s got the most liberal voting record in the Senate, that he refused to wear the American flag as a pin, that he didn’t place his hand over his heart during the national anthem, that his wife has just recently become proud of her country or that he is sympathetic to Muslim terrorist groups, etc. Even a decade ago most could have never imagined appointing such a person to be county supervisor, let alone the president of the United States.

Canadian pansy attacks

No Gravatar

In Canada people are being brought before hate speech tribunals for saying something that just hurts the feelings of some homosexual. It is well known how homosexual queens wear their feelings on their blouse sleeve and it costs people a lot of money to defend themselves from these pansy attacks. So just what is just about this justice system in Canada and why would you want to bring it here by voting for a demented pro hate speech big brother control freak Democrat?

Magazine cleared of ‘bigotry,’ now facing 2nd hearing

A Christian publication already cleared by the Canadian Human Rights Commission on claims its reporting on issues involving homosexuality stem from “bigotry, discrimination and hate” will have to defend itself – again – from the same charges.

De Valk, the editor, said earlier, “It is chilling to think that a publication can be hauled before a government tribunal simply for reporting to interested citizens developments in these [homosexual rights] areas of controversy.”

WND reported earlier on the Canadian procedures that give human rights commissions virtually unlimited power to “hear” allegations of “hate crimes” and issue orders in those cases.

Already, a Knights of Columbus council was fined more than $1,000 for refusing to allow its facility to be used for a lesbian “wedding,” and before that printer Scott Brockie was fined $5,000 for declining to print homosexual-themed stationery. In another case Hugh Owens was fined thousands of dollars for quoting Bible verses in a newspaper and London, Ontario, mayor Diane Haskett was fined $10,000 for refusing to proclaim a homosexual pride day.

Officials noted the United States is not immune to such cases, either, after a New Mexico photographer was fined $6,600 for refusing to meet the demands of a lesbian to take pictures at a “wedding.”

Canada Family Action Coalition has blamed the situation on “bastardized courts” because activists who claim “hurt feelings” are demanding and getting penalties imposed against those who oppose homosexuality.

Wells has alleged he was offended by the Catholic Insight. Its editor, de Valk, said the claims are unfounded and the publication simply follows the teaching of the Catholic Church on homosexuality.

Catholic Insight reported that Wells’ attack on the publication is not his first. In 2006 he tried to close down several websites including concernedchristians.ca because of their Christian content, and he targeted Ron Gray and the Christian Heritage party because the political entity posted articles “motivated by hate” of homosexuals.

Obamaland is not what America was or what America could be

No Gravatar

Mychal Massie sums up in seven very short paragraphs why America is not the nation it was and is not the nation it could be and what he says is totally contrary to what Obama stands for.

America not good enough for Obama’s children

Asked in Elkhart, Ind., by a 7-year-old little girl, why he wanted to be president, Barack Obama answered: “Because I don’t believe that America is what it could be [or] what it once was – and I don’t want that for my little girls.”

Parsing his statement, “He doesn’t want our America for [his] little girls,” because he doesn’t “believe [it is] what it once was.” On that point, I agree with him, albeit for completely different reasons.

When a presidential candidate says, “[We] Americans can’t drive our SUVs and [cannot] eat as much as we want and [cannot] keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times … and then just expect that other countries are going to be okay.” When he states emphatically that this will not be the case under his leadership – I submit that we can conclude what kind of country he believes America “could be.” The problem is, that’s not the kind of country our Founding Fathers envisioned nor is it the kind of nation a majority of Americans want to live in

Chavez and Obama real socialist parallels

No Gravatar

Even though voters turned down these socialist “reforms” socialists like Hugo Chavez cannot take no for an answer. They know what is best for everyone including what is best to keep themselves in power. I notice that Hugo Chavez is going to create a civilian militia so he can control any dissension. Obama also talked about creating a civilian force that would be as powerful as our military. Do you see the parallel here between Chavez and Obama?

Obama is also a socialist who has views much like those of Hugo Chavez. Just watch Venezuela if you want to know what will happen in the U.S. under the Obama administration. It all starts with a national civilian police force and the state taking control of private business and establishing price controls. Then before you know it you are living in a state much like the old USSR or Cuba.

My Way News - Venezuelans protest Chavez’s new socialist push

CARACAS, Venezuela (AP) - Riot police used tear gas Wednesday to block hundreds of Venezuelans protesting the latest moves by President Hugo Chavez to concentrate his power. The demonstrators said a blacklist of opposition candidates and a series of socialist decrees are destroying what’s left of their democracy.

Though the protest of about 1,000 people chanting “freedom!” was small compared to past marches, there is a growing public outcry over the sidelining of key government opponents ahead of state and local elections in November.

Chavez opponents also are outraged by 26 laws the president just decreed, some of them mirroring the socialist measures voters rejected in a December referendum.

Chavez issued the decrees just before the expiration of special legislative powers that allowed him to make laws without National Assembly approval for the past 18 month

One decree establishes a civilian militia that critics warn could emulate the citizen groups that control many aspects of community life in Cuba. Another gives Chavez the ability to designate regional authorities who critics say could undermine the power of locally elected officials.

Other decrees empower Chavez to expropriate goods from private businesses and increase state control over food, punishing business owners who fail to comply with price controls with fines, closure and even 10-year prison terms.

Carding state Governors and state senior citizens.

No Gravatar

Don’t flatter yourself Governor Gregoire. There is no way that this bouncer thought you looked under 21. He was simply being a ass and making an ass out of you. If you want to do something get the law changed. Control freaks and arrogant people are constantly making Senior Citizens present ID’s just because they can. This is age discrimination, it is a violation of our right to be old and not have to show proof of that to anyone. Anyone who cannot tell the deference between someone twenty and over forty should not have a job carding people and no person over the age of 40 should have to proved that they are over twenty-one to anyone.

Some Wal-Marts and markets do the same thing. The managers do not give the people they hire credit for an ounce of brains so they make them card old people using walkers. Senior citizens that are carded should simple refuse the whole purchase, demand to talk to the manager and let the store restock the entire cart. Then this stupid irrational behavior will soon stop. This bouncer receives my Demented Delusional or Dumb Club of the week award and the governor get honorary mention for not have having the state police remove the disrespectful bouncer. What next are you going to card the President? Insane!

Gov. Gregoire carded, turned away from Olympia bar | Local News | South Bureau | KING5.com | News for Seattle, Washington

OLYMPIA, Wash. - She has headlined parades, appeared on television and signed legislation.

But all that couldn’t get Governor Christine Gregoire into a downtown Olympia bar.

She is not alone. The Washington State Liquor Control Board says it gets complaints all the time from people who are clearly of age but who still get carded. Spokesperson Jennifer Skoda says the state law doesn’t spell out who should be carded. It just says where there may be a question of a person’s right to purchase liquor, the person shall be required to present ID.

“The burden is also with the licensee to ensure their patrons are over 21,” Skoda said.

Todd Ruzicka owns the bar. He says he has no idea why the part-time bouncer chose to card someone who’s almost three times his age.

T-Boone Pickens or T-Bone Pickens

No Gravatar

Seems that there is more to the story with T. Boone Pickens than just windmills to save America. Seems that T-Bone Pickens and friends now have picking the meat off the bone down to an art form. Now we hear that he has the largest water rights in the U.S. and state eminent domain laws in Texas were changed for him so he could set up a water district and use eminent domain powers. his Windmill right of ways can also piggyback on his water district eminent domain power.

Anyone who thinks that money for T-Bone is not the motivation in his national campaign for windmills is not getting the full story. If land owners oppose his water and wind distribution systems going across their lands he plans to use these new eminent domain laws to make them comply and to make himself more billions.

Is natural gas the answer for our cars? This link will tell you all about the idea that T. Boone Pickens promotes on TV about converting vehicles to natural gas. Turns out that T. Boone Pickens also has huge investments in natural gas. What all the TV hype seems to come down to is that Pickens is promoting his own natural gas investments and his own windmill investments on TV and calling it the answer to our foreign oil dependence! I guess Mr T. Boone Pickens thinks we should trade in our foreign oil dependence for dependence on him. Here is the response to the Pickens spokesman that responded to natural gas article above.

I have a better idea Mr Pickens. Just tell all the politicians to allow oil drilling here and now or we should remove all the obstructionists from public office! If off-shore drilling were allowed and if the development of our oil shale and coal were allowed we would not have any foreign energy dependence.

FOXNews.com - Pickens Gives New Meaning to ‘Self-Government’ - Opinion

The more you learn about T. Boone Pickens’ plan to switch America to wind power, the more you realize that he seems willing to say and do just about anything to make another billion or two.

Simply put, Pickens’ pitch is “embrace wind power to help break our ‘addiction’ to foreign oil.” There is, however, another intriguing component to Pickens’ plan that goes unmentioned in his TV commercials, media interviews and web site — water rights, which he owns more of than any other American.

But wait, you say, Pickens is not a government entity. How can he use eminent domain? Are you sitting down?

At Pickens’ behest, the Texas legislature changed state law to allow the two residents of an 8-acre parcel of land in Roberts County to vote to create a municipal water district, a government agency with eminent domain powers. Who were the voters? They were Pickens’ wife and the manager of Pickens’ nearby ranch. And who sits on the board of directors of this water district? They are the parcel’s three other non-resident landowners, all Pickens’ employees.

Earlier this year, Texas changed its law to allow renewable energy projects (like Pickens’ wind farm) to obtain rights-of-way by piggybacking on a water district’s eminent domain power. So Pickens can now use his water district’s authority to also condemn land for his future wind farm’s transmission lines.

Who will pay for the rights-of-way and the transmission lines and pipelines? Thanks to another gift from Texas politicians, Pickens’ water district can sell tax-free, taxpayer-guaranteed municipal bonds to finance the $2.2 billion cost of the water pipeline. And then earlier this month, the Texas legislature voted to spend $4.93 billion for wind farm transmission lines. While Pickens has denied that this money is earmarked for him, he nevertheless is building the largest wind farm in the world.

Pickens has gamed Texas for his own ends, and now he’s trying to game the rest of us, too. Worse, his gamesmanship includes lending his billionaire resources, prominent stature and feudal powers bestowed upon him by the Texas legislature to help the Greens gain control over the U.S. energy supply.

Climate Cops for the Fatherland.

Britain continues to set in place agendas to go Big Brother Fascist. Now it is training kids to monitor the energy that their family uses and to warn them to conserve and to keep case records. Of course the next step will be turning in those records and your parents to the authorities. Then the climate Gestapo will be knocking at your door. Of course if the men of Britain were not wearing skits and took back their country from the Big Sister nanny fascists this would not be happening.

Hey kids! Be a “Climate Cop” - rat on your family, friends, and classmates « Watts Up With That?

Note: I don’t normally allow the discussion of things related to Nazi Germany here, including discouraging the use of the word “denier” due to it’s “Holocaust Denier” connotations. But this full page ad in the Sunday papers in Britain, touting “climate crime” and “climate cops” is just a bit over the top, and deserves some attention. It is particularly relevant since the sponsoring website climatecops.com has a teachers section, and we’ve just seen some sensibility from Schwarzenegger in Sacramento on this very issue. I find this method of indoctrinating school children to normal everyday living being harmful to the earth with the “climate crime” connotation as distasteful and wrong headed. I have no problems with energy conservation, in fact I encourage it. But combining such advice with a “climate cop” idea is the wrong way to get the message across. Can you imagine what sort of reaction the neighbors will have to the kids hanging this door hanger on their front door? Will the result of this now be hiding your electric dryer behind false walls so the kids and neighbors don’t see it?

Launched today with large colour ads in the Sundays, it appeals directly to children, urging them to climate crime”, to root out “climate crimes“, and thus “save the planet”.

urging its recruits to spy on families, friends and relatives, inviting each of them to build up a “climate crime case file” in order to help them ensure their putative criminals do not “commit those crimes again (or else)!”

Quite what the “or else!” should be is not specified, but since the “climate cops” are being encouraged to keep detailed written records (for those who can read and write), there is nothing to stop these being submitted to the “Climate Cops HQ” for further sanctions, the repeat offenders being sent to re-education camps. And for those “climate cops” that successfully perform the “missions” set (or turn in their own parents), there is the reward of “training” in the “Climate Cop Academy”.

If you swore to uphold the Constitution uphold it and do not allow domestic enemies redefine the self evident truths.

It will be interesting to see how the liberal socialists will get by the First Amendment to the U.S constitution when they pass their hate speech laws that they are all but certain to pass under the next administration.

Ultimately the hate speech laws will be tested and decided by the Supreme Court on its constitutionality. The court by this point will be Liberal. The judges will then just redefine the Bill of Rights in the Constitution to what they want it to say rather than what it clearly says. Its already happened in the Supreme Court of California.

Once the Constitution can be redefined by a few people in black robes it will have lost its meaning and will be subverted. Then we will see tyranny right here in the good old U.S.A.

After those laws are passed and upheld you can be certain that the special interest groups will be monitoring everything that is said anywhere and turning anything that hurts their feelings over to the thought police for enforcement and punishment.

Then it will be time for the oppressed to overthrow this government tyranny or start a new free union of states that abides by the Constitution of the U.S.

As everyone who ever served in the military, government and police forces knows, you have already sworn to uphold the Constitution of the United States against all enemies foreign and domestic. We can read for ourselves what the Bill of Rights says and no redefining of the Bill of Rights is going to change the self-evident truths of the wording within those bills passed by U.S. constitutional amendment.

If the liberal progressives want to do away with our rights they need to do it by passing a constitutional amendment to do that but they know it will never pass. So, the domestic enemies of our system will try legislating unconstitutional laws and then stacking the justice system with like minded people.

If you swore to uphold the Constitution uphold it! Do not allow any MCcainiac or Obamanation government give us tyrants and thought police that will redefine the self-evident truths of the U.S. Constitution and its government of the people, by the people, and for the people!

Christian Worldview Network - Brannon Howse - Free Speech???

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.” – The First Amendment

Perhaps the most important basis for a free society is the right of free political and religious speech. In every totalitarian society there is an oppression of these two foundations of freedom. Why? The answer is simple. Those in power who have a tyrannical motivation are afraid the masses may be swayed by ideas that are contrary to their indoctrination. Thus any opposing ideas become the weapon of freedom that must be stopped. The basic understanding of the power of free speech was recognized by our founding fathers as a deterrent to tyrannical government.

Due to this relativistic thinking problem the society is bending concerning these rights. That is a fact that should scare anyone who holds “these truths to be self evident.” The abridging of free religious and political speech is an affront against the liberty of all. Why is it a problem for all? It is a problem for all because once the freedom is gone it is gone for everyone. When a system turns to tyranny, all people are caught in its grip and become part of the totalitarian system.

Due to the insanity of the left, liberals, homosexual activists, and rabid race baiters, it has now become more acceptable to limit the freedom of political and religious speech. The idea that the government should have the right to punish people simply based on their thoughts and ideas is a complete abandonment of the Constitutional principles this nation was founded on.

Those who want the so called “hate speech” legislation are directly attacking one of the most sacred freedoms we have. The truth is that you have a right to hate me but you do not have a right to act out on that hate in any way that violates my person, property, or rights. You see, we must not legislate thoughts or we are destined to have all free thoughts at risk.

Those of you who are reading this who believe in “hate speech legislation” need to rethink your position. Who gets to decide what “hate” is? Do you want the government running around punishing people for what they say and think? What happens when someone decides that your speech is hateful? Are you ready for them to limit your thinking and expression? In order for freedom to work, there must be the right to speak unpopular positions without threats and intimidation from the government.

The first amendment of the Constitution says “Congress shall make no law.” How is it that Congress is attempting to make a law limiting the speech of Americans? How is it that so many people seem to think that this is a good idea? Why is there no outrage from the masses about this blatant attack on our foundational liberties? Why? Because most people have no idea what the Constitution says or why it says it. Most Americans have been dumbed down to the point where they simply do not grasp the principles of liberty that America was founded on.

It is clear what is really going on in the push for “hate speech” legislation. The left wants to stop preachers from preaching against homosexuality. There is also a Gestapo like insanity against anyone who would dare to criticize a racial minority. If for example a person is speaking out against affirmative action racial preferences, who’s to say that is not hateful? If my speech offends you, that is the price of freedom. If you do not wish to pay that price, I suggest you move to one of the many totalitarian states where your every word and movement are controlled.

Since Americans depend on government more each day the war against our liberty has begun. Some of us are fighting against the powers of tyranny. I hope you join us in the fight for the heart and soul of our country before the powers of socialism and liberal social decay completely overtake us. Wake up and smell the truth. The time to fight is now!
