Liberals are capitalizing on dumbing down Americans with new Capitol Visitor Center

Even the new Capitol Visitor Center dug into Capitol Hill subverts our Constitution and our history with Liberal revisionism.

Washington Times - SPALDING: A ‘Capitol’ crime

As an expert in the U.S. Constitution and America’s Founding, I thought I had lost the ability to be shocked by politically correct distortions of our history. Then I visited the new Capitol Visitor Center.

The just-completed Visitor Center, which opened yesterday, is a 580,000-square-foot cavern dug at the foot of the U.S. Capitol at a cost of $621 million (almost 9 times over budget).

The “educational” part is the Exhibition Hall, the theme of which is “E Pluribus Unum - Out of Many, One.” The etching in marble initially referred to that phrase as the nation’s motto. Now, however, that etching is covered by a bad plaster job, because … well, “E Pluribus Unum” is not the nation’s motto. Our actual motto, “In God We Trust,” is notably absent, along with other references to faith.

Take how the exhibit treats the Northwest Ordinance, the 1787 document that signaled the beginning of America’s westward expansion. It’s selectively quoted to encourage education - carefully shorn of its opening clause: “Religion, morality and knowledge, being necessary to good government and the happiness of mankind.”

But what bothered me the most when I toured the Visitor Center at the request of Sen. Jim DeMint, South Carolina Republican - who raised a warning on this politically correct outrage - is what it does to the Constitution.

The science on global warming is settled. There is no human induced global warming.

No Gravatar

Obama’s stated agenda will bring carbon cap and trade taxes on us and hinder the use of fuels that produce CO2. Those like him who believe rising CO2 is causing global warming are either very ignorant of the latest facts or they are purposely being deceptive in order to expand global governance over everyone. This article points out many of the latest facts on global warming and climate change. Those who say the science is settled and that man is causing global warming either do not know what they are talking about or they are lying. The real scientific evidence says there is no human induced global warming from CO2 and the earth has actually cooled for the past decade. People really need to get off of Al Gore’s Chicken Little soapbox.

The following quote is just the end of this article that gives the Petition Statement signed by over 31,000 scientists and the author of this article comments about the UN’s IPCC report. You will have to read the whole article to get the real facts on why man is not causing global warming. If that article below still does not have your brain deprogrammed read this article about the new book that came out on this topic. It is called Red Hot Lies About Global Warming. Or you might read this article about the non global warming that says exactly what I said in my statement

American Thinker: Global Warming? Bring it On!

Here’s the Petition Statement we dissenters signed in opposition:

“We urge the United States government to reject the global warming agreement that was written in Kyoto, Japan in December, 1997, and any other similar proposals. The proposed limits on greenhouse gases would harm the environment, hinder the advance of science and technology, and damage the health and welfare of mankind.

“There is no convincing scientific evidence that human release of carbon dioxide, methane, or other greenhouse gasses is causing or will, in the foreseeable future, cause catastrophic heating of the Earth’s atmosphere and disruption of the Earth’s climate. Moreover, there is substantial scientific evidence that increases in atmospheric carbon dioxide produce many beneficial effects upon the natural plant and animal environments of the Earth.”

Let me assure you that we’re not in good humor, nor take it kindly to be slurred and ridiculed by taking the other side in this debate. And our numbers are still growing. Indeed, we’re angry that the vast majority of American Scientists will not be heard by the media. We’re dismayed over the fact that the Global Warming fiasco has become politically popular and expedient to those left-wing politicians and power-brokers whose sole aim is to literally tax everything with a carbon footprint and give them control over all life, hidden within their PC guileful pretence to save the planet. They wish to save no one but themselves.

And the tide turns further. Of the 2500 originally aligned scientists and putative authors of the UN’s IPCC report some 500 are no longer faithful to Big Al’s errand. Many of these scientists discovered that their individual findings and comments were willfully misrepresented. All participant conclusions were unilaterally changed to adhere strictly to the United Nations objective of building support for world taxation and rationing of industrially useful energy. Since the original IPCC report (and there have been some 4 others now formally issued), the defecting 500 scientists have issued public statements challenging global warming. Approximately 100 of these scientists are now open defectors. Others are currently suing the UN for the misuse of their good names and research. It is difficult to see why a thinking person would even consider the IPCC report as legitimate.

The entire IPCC process is but obfuscation by the secular and atheist Left. It has allowed the Left to conflate the vanity of secular opinion with scientific and/or moral truth. There is an easy and immediate remedy for their debacle. Will Rogers stated it simply: “When you are in a hole … stop digging…. Please!”

Obama gore’s state governors with crap and trade climate horror film rhetoric

No Gravatar

Obama obviously does not have a clue about what he is talking about on climate change. That is the danger of electing someone who has never learned to critically think for himself or just as likely is a controlled puppet of the global elite. To me it seems like Obama is just repeating what he seen at Al Gore’s horror movie. (Produced and directed by the world’s foremost crap and trade flimflam man.)

I will now rebut what I quoted of Obama’s speech below at the Governors Climate Summit.

  • Climate change should be the least of the concerns of America and the world. There is almost nothing we can do about climate change and doing anything could be worse then leaving it to God.
  • Global warming science is not beyond dispute. Man caused global warming is beyond belief and so say 31,000 scientists.
  • Sea levels have been rising long before the industrial age and have nothing to do with man. We have been coming out of a little ice age for centuries and that is good because otherwise we could not support our world population and would have world famines and starvation.
  • Coastlines are hardly shrinking they are quite stable water seeks its own level.
  • We have always seen record droughts somewhere in this world and the droughts we have today are no worse than droughts in historical times.
  • We do not have spreading famine in the world. There were much worse famines prior to the green revolution and throughout history. Most if not all famine today is the result of polices by governments and wars.
  • Storms are not growing stronger with each passing hurricane season like Obama said. Ocean temperatures are not warming they have been steady or cooling for a decade. Scientific studies have also proven that warming temperatures would not produce more severe storms it would produces more global cloud cover and rain and less severe storms. The last couple of hurricane seasons were below average and the few we have had in recent years that were above average are as normal as the seasons below average. The more recent hurricane damage have nothing to do with global warming and everything to do with more people living and building on the coasts.
  • Since there is nothing we can do about climate change there is nothing we can do about its effects on our economy except make it worse by spending money on a non existent problem.
  • Since there is nothing we can do about climate change there is nothing we can do about its effects on our national security.
  • Obama says he intends to start a cap and trade system. Doing so will raise the price of everything for no reason. That will have a very negative effect on our economy and national security.
  • $15 billion a year spent on alternative energy will do little to change our dependence on foreign oil and if the economy grows at historical levels dependence on foreign oil will actually increase. You cannot decrease CO2 emissions to 1990 levels by 2020 unless you are planning on a national depression. Legislating an 80 percent reduction by 2050 will bring national suicide.
  • Our planet really needs saving from people who play God and think they can save it by throwing money at climate change problems that do not exist and that they could do almost nothing about it if it did exist.
  • You cannot spend money to create 5 million new jobs without someone paying for the job creation. Since that will be the people of this nation through higher taxes and higher cost of most products the lost income will lower our buying power and millions of other people will lose their jobs. There is no free lunch. Democrats think that government can create jobs out of thin air without economic consequences to others but that is nuts. Now, it is true, that if we create our own energy instead of importing it we can create jobs here but the most cost effective way to do that and to increase the most jobs is to increase coal production, coastal oil production and to advance mini nuclear power plant production (like those on subs).

So even on Federal climate change you should see how Obama will waste our money and make the economic situation in this nation worse. So with this faulty illogical thinking at the top we are in a world of crap. Luckily you will have plenty of green toilet paper after Obama and the policies of the Democrats finish off the dollar and this nation. Everything I said on climate change is documented by real scientists (not flim flam men) and can be found within the category “global warming” on the sidebar.

RealClearPolitics - Articles - Obama’s Remarks to the Bi-Partisan Governors Climate Summit

Let me begin by thanking the bipartisan group of U.S. governors who convened this meeting.

Few challenges facing America - and the world - are more urgent than combating climate change. The science is beyond dispute and the facts are clear. Sea levels are rising. Coastlines are shrinking. We’ve seen record drought, spreading famine, and storms that are growing stronger with each passing hurricane season.

Climate change and our dependence on foreign oil, if left unaddressed, will continue to weaken our economy and threaten our national security.

That will start with a federal cap and trade system. We will establish strong annual targets that set us on a course to reduce emissions to their 1990 levels by 2020 and reduce them an additional 80% by 2050.

Further, we will invest $15 billion each year to catalyze private sector efforts to build a clean energy future. We will invest in solar power, wind power, and next generation biofuels. We will tap nuclear power, while making sure it’s safe. And we will develop clean coal technologies.

This investment will not only help us reduce our dependence on foreign oil, making the United States more secure. And it will not only help us bring about a clean energy future, saving our planet. It will also help us transform our industries and steer our country out of this economic crisis by generating five million new green jobs that pay well and can’t be outsourced.

When Obama increasing taxes for everyone who pays taxes it will not be called a tax increase.

No Gravatar

Obama’s tax plan in spite of his claims that he will not increase taxes on anyone over $250,000 are a bald faced lie. The Democratic party has no plans to continue the Bush tax cuts after they expire and that will instantly raise taxes across the board for taxpayers at all levels. It will be the largest tax increase in history and the only ones who will escape from those tax increases are those who now pay no taxes at all. They claim it will not be a tax increase because the Bush cuts had an expiration date unless they were renewed. But when government taxes more of your money you will certainly known that you had a tax increase.

So if you want to be a sucker and vote for the the tax and spend party at least know what in the hell your voting for and what the Democrats plan to do. Their no tax increase tax increase will be largest tax increase in the history of this nation. Take that kind of money out of the taxpayers pockets in an an economic downturn and you will put the nation into a long term depression. Then when you stand in the soup line because you have no job your poverty level tax rate will be the least of your worries.

Of course this is just some of what we know about, you can be sure they will come up with other plans to take from the working to give to support the underclass of government slaves that they created with their past Democrat socialists policies.

American Thinker: Senator Obama’s Four Tax Increases for People Earning Under $250k

The first loophole was easy to find: Senator Obama doesn’t “count” allowing the Bush tax cuts to lapse as a tax increase. Unless the cuts are re-enacted, rates will automatically return to the 2000 level. Senator Obama claims that letting a tax cut lapse — allowing the rates to return to a higher levels — is not actually a “tax increase.” It’s just the lapsing of a tax cut.

See the difference?

Neither do I.

When those cuts lapse, my taxes are going up — a lot — but by parsing words, Senator Obama justifies his claim that he won’t actively raise taxes on 95 percent of working Americans, even while he’s passively allowing tax rates to go up for 100% of Americans who actually pay Federal income taxes.

Making this personal, my Federal Income Tax will increase by $3,824 when those tax cuts lapse. That not-insignificant sum would cover a couple of house payments or help my two boys through another month or two of college.

No matter what Senator Obama calls it, requiring us to pay more taxes amounts to a tax increase. This got me wondering what other Americans will have to pay when the tax cuts laps

Obama still lying in the living room of a radical idiot professors

No Gravatar

No need for me to say anything Ann Coulter in her own unique way gets the message across. The same people who believe radicals terrorists should become professors believe that those who hang with them should be President.

Ayers: Radical loon when Obama was only 47

Back before the media realized it needed to lie about Obama launching his political career at Ayers’ house, the Los Angeles Times provided an eyewitness account from a liberal who attended the event.

“When I first met Barack Obama, he was giving a standard, innocuous little talk in the living room of those two legends-in-their-own-minds, Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn. They were launching him – introducing him to the Hyde Park community as the best thing since sliced bread.”

The Times has now stripped this item from its webpage, but the great blogger Patterico has preserved it for posterity on his webpage.

Ayers is such an imbecile, we ought to be amazed that he’s teaching at a university – even when you consider that it’s an ed school – except all former violent radicals end up teaching. Roughly 80 percent of former Weathermen are full college professors – 99 percent if you don’t include the ones killed in shoot-outs with the police or in prison – i.e., not yet pardoned by a Democratic president.

Any other profession would have banned a person like Ayers. Universities not only accept former domestic terrorists, but also move them to the front of the line.

But Obama thinks it’s a selling point to say that Ayers is a college professor.

Instead of teaching students reading
and writing, Ayers thinks they should be taught to rebel against America’s “imperialist” social structure. In 2006, Ayers was in Venezuela praising communist dictator Hugo Chavez, saying, “We share the belief that education is the motor-force of revolution.”

He has backed a line of schoolbooks such as one titled “Teaching Science for Social Justice.”

Forget about Ayers’ domestic terrorism when Obama “was 8 years old.” Does he agree with Ayers’ idiot ideas right now?

Dumb Katie Couric interviews dumber Joe Biden

No Gravatar

Not only do ignoramuses like Joe Biden and Katie Couric not even know that FDR was not President in 1929 they fail to understand that the Great depression did not end anywhere near 1929. In fact, it started in the 1930’s and it lasted for over a decade through most of FDR’s Presidency, It took the military expansion for World War II to get us out of the great depression. Also Joe Biden said FDR went on TV in 1929. There was no TV in those days.

In another article, 14 lies or wrong statements were documented from Joe Biden in his Vice Presidential debate with Sarah Palin. He seems to either have no clue on the facts or he is purposely deceptive.

This article also points out the fact that Joe Biden was only one of five senators who voted against the Alaskan pipeline. Think of the situation we would be in now had that pipeline not been built. Can you imagine Joe Biden sitting and advising the President and constantly getting the facts he tells him wrong.

Both Katie Couric and Joe Biden richly deserve my Demented Delusional or Dumb Club award for obvious reasons.

Here is some additional information on the record of Joe Biden

AnnCoulter.com - Printer Friendly Article: BIDEN SECRET SERVICE CODE NAME: ‘ASSASSINATION INSURANCE’

Being interviewed by Katie Couric on the “CBS Evening News,” Biden said: “When the stock market crashed, Franklin D. Roosevelt got on the television and didn’t just talk about the, you know, the princes of greed. He said, ‘Look, here’s what happened.’”

For those of you who aren’t hard-core history buffs, Biden not only named the wrong president during the 1929 stock market crash, he also claimed a president who wasn’t president during the stock market crash went on TV before Americans had TVs.

Other than that, the statement holds up pretty well. At least Biden managed to avoid mentioning any “clean” Negroes he had met.

Couric was nearly moved to tears by the brilliance of Biden’s brain-damaged remark. She was especially intrigued by Biden’s claim that FDR had said the new iPhone was the bomb!

Here is Couric’s full response to Biden’s bizarre outburst about FDR (a) being president and (b) going on TV in 1929: “Relating to the fears of the average American is one of Biden’s strong suits.”

A review of Bill Maher’s demented mind

No Gravatar

Dr. Ted Baehr wrote a good movie review of Bill Maher’s new demented move called “Religulous”. What should anyone expect from Bill Maher. Anyone who has ever listened to Bill Maher ought to know that He is one demented demonic sick puppy who cannot help but let everyone know about it.

Why would anyone think a demented mind mocker like Maher could know anything about Christianity or religion? Bill Maher is a prime example of a demonic person full of their own self enlightenment. The only thing this move will prove is that some people will watch anything in the theaters these days. Of course Bill Maher richly deserves my Demented Delusional or Dumb Club award for his unique contribution to foolishness.

Christian Worldview Network - Brannon Howse - Arrogant, Irrational Hypocrisy: Humanist Comedian Bill Maher’s New Movie Is Full of Falsehoods, Bigotry, Ignorance, and Hypocrisy

Arrogant, Irrational Hypocrisy: Humanist Comedian Bill Maher’s New Movie Is Full of Falsehoods, Bigotry, Ignorance, and Hypocrisy
By Dr. Ted Baehr, Publisher of MOVIEGUIDE®, and Dr. Tom Snyder, Editor

“Religulous,” comedian Bill Maher’s new movie attacking Christianity and religion, is full of lies, half-truths, false assumptions, logical contradictions and fallacies, distortions, intolerance, prejudice, bigotry, arrogance, ignorance, and hypocrisy. Opening Oct. 3, the movie is a pathetic propaganda piece that will warp the hearts and minds of the gullible and the ignorant. It is also very poorly researched and argued.

At the end, Maher launches into a diatribe comparing all religious leaders and believers, including President George Bush, to evil and ignorant Muslim terrorists. After making that overbroad generalization, Maher angrily denounces people of faith for being too certain and too judgmental. He then tells them that it is actually more “humble” to acknowledge doubts and belief in God and religion, like he does.

It is telling that none of the Christians Maher talks to in “Religulous,” not even Father Coyne, actually makes their living as professional biblical scholars or history scholars, much less as professional Christian debaters. Thus, all the alleged evidence that Maher summons against Christianity and religious faith in his movie is about as empirically and logically one-sided and invalid as you can possible get!

Of course, at the same time Maher accuses his opponents of these nasty things, he is doing the same things that he just accused them of doing. Maher’s tirade is not only logically self-contradictory, and, hence, irrational, it is also hypocritical. Instead of pointing fingers at religious people, especially Christians, Maher needs to look at himself in the mirror!

The energy shortage in the U.S. only exists because certain politicians want it.

No Gravatar

In spite of what you have been told the U.S. has the largest oil potential than any other known area in the world. We have enough oil in shale to last for hundreds of years. If we actually went all out to produce these resources we could be a oil exporter in a few decades. By the way, Shale oil can be recovered with present technology with little environmental impact and produce gasoline for less than $2 a gallon but since it is on federal land congress has put it off limits for energy development.

So frankly the energy shortage has more to do with politics than anything else. When you have two trillion barrels of oil in reserve and 1/4 of the coal deposits on earth you do not have a energy shortage unless certain people want you to have an energy shortage.

American Thinker: The Myth of No Oil

Predictions of nationwide oil supply exhaustion soon became regular occurrences, with seven made prior to 1950[2], even though the United States was the world’s largest crude oil producer until 1973. Indeed, through the mid-1980’s, most oil consumed in the country was of domestic origin. Today, however, the United States imports the majority of its oil and, due to environmental regulations, has not authorized the construction of new refineries since the mid-1970s.

Yet, our country does not lack adequate oil resources. Rather, supply estimate methodologies seriously undercount our true oil resources. This and our lack of political will to use advanced recovery technologies contribute to the myth of no oil. This myth hobbles our ability to draw on our own existing resources and keeps us in a dependent posture, looking to others to provide for us.

A potentially significant supply of oil is trapped in shale in the American West. Rocks in Colorado, Utah and Wyoming alone are believed to contain over 1,500 billion barrels of oil. Previous government experiments with shale oil production were labor and energy intensive and environmentally disruptive, producing little oil. But efforts by private companies have revolutionized the extraction technology with development of an in situ process of heating rocks, trapping oil and extracting it profitably at oil prices of just over $30 a barrel. Shell Oil, the leader in this new technology, estimates that it will be able to produce one million barrels of oil per acre.

Meanwhile, it is estimated that oil production from tar sands in Canada and South America would add an additional 600 billion barrels to the world’s supply.[5] Canada, which does not segregate conventional oil from tar sands, is currently the largest U.S. oil supplier with about half of Canadian crude derived from oil sands. This oil is forecast to reach 3 million barrels per day in 2015. The Economist[6] recently noted that there exist “174 billion barrels of proven reserves in the oil sands of Alberta” alone.

Another technology, coal liquefaction to produce oil, becomes competitive when the price of conventional oil is higher than $30 per barrel, according to U.S. Energy Department estimates. The coal-to-oil process produces natural gas and removes pollutants that are released when coal is burned to produce electricity. With the United States possessing 27% of the world’s coal supply, U.S. coal-to-oil production could be substantial. South Africa has been producing petrol and diesel from coal since 1955 and currently produces 40% of the country’s oil from this source.

We The People” think you should monitor your lying mass media mouth.

By don Koenig

I do not know about you but I feel the new energy ads on TV are very offensive and totally un-American. They are saying that We The People” are no longer asking but “demanding” that government go to very expensive and destructive all renewable energy sources like windmills in ten years. How dare they presume to speak for what “We the People” of America demand just because they have the money to buy mass media prime air time!

They are saying that We The People are demanding energy and environmental policies that only the environmentally naive, only those already brainwashed and only the brain dead could possibly believe. Those pushing this deception are those with vested interests using what they know are deceptive lies. These elitists are attempting to brainwash the American people with their lying mass media ads in order to line their own pockets. I think it is time for those with the money to counter with their own ads and present the plain unvarnished truth and expose these people for the dangerous radical frauds that they are.

This obvious fraud of acting like they are speaking for “We The People” should be illegal. If we allow self serving interest groups with deep pocket to brainwash all those who watch mass media with their own disinformation campaigns we will lose this nation to an Oligarchy.

Al Gore told us this three hundred million dollar ad campaign would take place and billionaire T. Boone Pickens has jumped on the global warming gravy train to further his huge investments in windmills and natural gas. Now we are seeing in their lying mass media ads how devious and dangerous these people can be when “We The People only hear in the mass media from the side of those who stand to gain from brainwashing us with their lying mass media campaign to America.

Brainwashing by the elite rich through use of lying mass media must never be allowed in America or our representative Republic elected by “We The People” will be finished.

Here is another opinion by a blogger who wants Al Gore to stop lying on TV like he is speaking for the American people on other TV ad.

I heard Al Gore say the other day that his followers should now use civil disobedence to stop the building of new coal plants in America. He also said that individal state Attorney Generals should prosecute what Gore things is fraud. If anyone should be prosecuted for fraud it should be Al Gore with his lying movie and his lying presentations that are based on lies and fraud. Even the British Court indicated that when he tried to force his “Inconvenient Truth” move down the throats of all British school children. People better realize we are dealing with some very devious self serving people here.

48 Liberal Lies About American History
By Jamie Glazov
FrontPageMagazine.com | Friday, September 12, 2008

Frontpage Interview’s guest today is Larry Schweikart, a professor of history at the University of Dayton. He is the co-author with Michael Allen of the best-selling book, A Patriot’s History of the United States. His follow-up book, America’s Victories, led President Bush to invite him to the Oval Office for a discussion of history. His new book is 48 Liberal Lies About American History.

FP: What do you hope your book will help achieve?

Schweikart: I hope parents will at least look at their kids’ books, and I hope students will think about some of the junk they are getting from their books. Oh, and I hope they also buy a real U.S. history textbook, A Patriot’s History of the United States.

The answer my friend is not blowing in the wind

No Gravatar

Windmills are ridiculous as a primary source of power for this nation. The article I quote will give you some reason why.

I will give you some others. I live near windmills and it almost caused a revolution where they are being built. They have ruined a once beautiful area and nobody want to live around them. Even in this excellent article many important points were not addressed. The killing of the birds was not addressed. Where will all the steel and copper come from to build the hundreds of thousands of windmills that would be need?

Do these people think windmills do not have environmental impact? They need to think again. They have to mine huge amount of Iron to make the steel. Where do they think the copper comes from for the generators and power lines? It has to be mined. You think copper prices are high now let them build hundreds of thousands of wind generators and see what happens. Also, does anyone think it does not take huge amounts of power to build the factories and to produce the steel to make all these windmills? Then they have to be shipped to a site by many vehicles that use energy and tare up the roads. The windmills have to be erected and anchored on a solid foundation. The trees have to be cut down meaning that these areas will no long produce lumber or be carbon negative. The windmills will have to be maintained by maintenance crews who ride major sized off road vehicles. The windmills only have a limited life span and they will have to be replaced when they fail. There will have to be major back up power for when the wind is not blowing etc etc.

So lets cut through the bull about windmills being the answer for America’s energy needs. They are not. The fat cat billionaires that proposes this stuff do not live in the real world they have no common or scientific sense. All they see is opportunities to make more billions at your expense.

Hot air about wind power

At www.scitizen.com, Kurt Cobb worked the numbers. Generously, he presumed the windmills would use 5-megawatt turbines – generating three times the output of a typical 1.5-megawatt turbine. He compared that with a 500-megawatt fossil-fuel (coal) power plant needed to power a city of 300,000 people. A typical power plant, he noted, would cover 300 acres, but use only 30 of those for the actual facility.

Cobb calculated it would take 233 5-megawatt wind turbines to equal the coal plant’s output, since the wind doesn’t blow constantly. Each would need to be spaced 2,065 feet away from the others (five times the diameter of their 413-foot rotors). Adding the rotor diameters to the spacing requirement equates to a 110-mile long line of windmills, half a mile in width.

It comes to 55 square miles. That’s to provide electricity for a town of 300,000 people.

Going back to Kurt Cobb’s calculations, if we wanted to meet the electric needs of 300 million Americans rather than only 300,000, we’d need a half-mile swath of windmills, each of them hundreds of feet high, 110,000 miles long, crisscrossing the continent 40 times between New York City and Los Angeles.

That’s a lot of land to condemn. The cost would be in the hundreds of billions of dollars, since each large windmill costs millions.

New York State’s largest windmill farm to date, the $400 million Maple Ridge project, features 195 medium-size (400-foot high) windmills, part of a windmill surge in upstate New York sparked by state and federal incentives. That project has generated great controversy even in its rural setting. According to area researcher Dr. Nina Pierpont, it has also created “wind turbine syndrome,” a variety of ills such as inner ear problems, headaches, difficulty sleeping, ringing in the ears, mood disorders, irritability, panic attacks and child misbehavior, all attributed to the low-frequency rumblings of the windmills.

There are practical problems, too. If the structures are put totally in the boondocks, massive new transmission lines must be built to carry the power to where the people are.

All this to generate power that is more expensive than our current power plants, even after major taxpayer subsidies are factored in.

Whether onshore or offshore, the gigantic areas involved to harness wind power will bring their own unintended consequences. The director of the Center for Global Change Science at M.I.T, Ron Prinn, warns that erecting enough windmills to replace fossil fuel power has adverse environmental impact. Prinn says those would “take significant momentum out of the atmosphere, so there’d be less penetration of wind to the ground surface.” Translation: You change the wind, and you change the weather.

Al Gore, why aren’t you speaking up about this?

The big 2008 ice melt that never happened

No Gravatar

In spite of the reports in the media about the great ice melt this year the Arctic ice melt was 30 percent less than the ice melt last year and Antarctica ice continues to increase. Some people just lie because it is in their interest to lie and to keep up the global warming hype. Anyone in Alaska will tell you that this summer was a very cold summer. It is amazing how some people want us to believe that a slight Pacific cooling is driving cooling over most of the Globe and that global warming is just taking a break for a couple of years. It is nonsense. Nobody knows what the long term climate will be because it has little to do with man made CO2.

Arctic ice refuses to melt as ordered | The Register

Just a few weeks ago, predictions of Arctic ice collapse were buzzing all over the internet. Some scientists were predicting that the “North Pole may be ice-free for first time this summer”. Others predicted that the entire “polar ice cap would disappear this summer”.

The Arctic melt season is nearly done for this year. The sun is now very low above the horizon and will set for the winter at the North Pole in five weeks. And none of these dire predictions have come to pass. Yet there is, however, something odd going on with the ice data.

The Arctic did not experience the meltdowns forecast by NSIDC and the Norwegian Polar Year Secretariat. It didn’t even come close. Additionally, some current graphs and press releases from NSIDC seem less than conservative. There appears to be a consistent pattern of overstatement related to Arctic ice loss.

And what of the Antarctic? Down south, ice extent is well ahead of the recent average. Why isn’t NSIDC making similarly high-profile press releases about the increase in Antarctic ice over the last 30 years?

PBS is going on the attack against the fundamental beliefs of two major religions with your tax dollars. If you keep voting in Liberals they will continue to fund these these attacks on the fundamentals of Christianity and Judaism. The truth is that your government funded station is promoting an attack against two major religions in favor of the religion of secular humanism. That is unconstitutional.  Don’t you think it is time for us to do away with this Secular Humanism brainwashing platform?

PBS promotes official state religion

Coming this November from PBS’ “Nova” series is a “documentary” suggesting the following:

* Abraham and Sara, the patriarchal couple of Judaism and Christianity, didn’t really exist.

* The Exodus of the children of Israel from Egypt never really happened.

* The Hebrew Tanach, what Christians call the Old Testament, was mostly written just six centuries before the time of Jesus.

Now keep in mind who is funding this program and the network that will air it – you, the American taxpayer.

It would be insulting enough to Christians and Jews in America if a private corporation were producing this kind of attack on the foundation of the two faiths. But this is an assault made possible by government – the same government, by the way, that is flirting with reinstituting the so-called “Fairness Doctrine” to limit free expression by private broadcasters.

I don’t know about you, but this makes me angry.

That is an outrage.

It’s more than an outrage. It is unconstitutional and un-American.

It is, in fact, just the kind of thing the Founding Father had in mind when they wrote the First Amendment prohibiting the establishment of a state religion.

That is precisely what is happening when the U.S. government funds propaganda promoting what has become, de facto, the official state church in America – secular humanism.

It’s way past time to pull the plug on PBS and National Public Radio and all the other propaganda arms of the federal government’s promotion of socialism and secular humanism and every other imaginable failed idea.

T. Boone Pickens its not just your proposed windmills, its your proposed fascism.

Frankly T. Boone Pickens not only stands to make a lot of money on government subsidies for windmills he is flat out wrong on many counts. Oil will not hit $300 a barrel it is more likely to be $50 a barrel in inflation adjusted dollars for centuries to come if congress just allows oil drilling where we know there is oil. All we need is for liberal government and the environmental fascists to get out of the way and stop blocking the development of our oil and coal resources. If oil drilling was treated as the national emergency that it is we will solve the problem within a few years. We have the equivalent of trillions of barrels of oil in the US in oil shale, oil sands and coal. We have enough oil for many centuries, that will take care our our long term problem. We also have enough oil offshore that can be brought on line in a one to five years that will take care much of our short term problem.

It will not take ten years like the democrats claim unless government and the environmental fascists make it take ten years with their bureaucracy and lawsuits. We need to treat this like the homeland security issue it is and cut the red tape.

Pickens thinks we can free up natural gas with windmills and use the gas to power vehicles but even the gas people disagree with that. If we really wanted to free up natural gas we already have a much cheaper way of doing that. We would just have to build many more coal plants but God forbid that we dump any more helpful CO2 into the atmosphere and help the plants grow.

As I have said before, windmills have to be backed up by conventional power sources because when the wind is not blowing or it us blowing too hard as it often does in the Midwest windmills do not work. Solar does not work at night and there never will be any way to store power for periods of shortfall. So unless everyone stops using electricity when the wind stops blowing or is blowing too hard or after the sun sets this is not the answer.

Besides that, it will be an environmental disaster. Do these people have any clue what a eye sore blight this will be. 150 foot steel windmills will stretch from horizon to horizon along with their power distribution system that will make current electric lines look pleasing. It will decimate the bird populations. Do you think that giant solar farms will not have an environmental impact? What impact will they have on the animals that occupy that habitat? I will bet you will not take your family to have a picnic there. If you don’t believe me about windmills come to Western New York when they have put up these windmills farms and have ruined once very scenic ridge tops. People cannot sell their property because no one want to live near the windmills. Some people cannot tolerate the low noise that the windmills make day and night. The windmills will decimate the bird populations and they cannot produce electricity at anywhere near current rates. The costs of windmills are paid by taxpayers, robbing Peter to pay Paul, or higher electric rates.

Also notice that T. Boone Pickens proposes that they take property away by using eminent domain claims anywhere where they want to build their alternative energy boondoggles. Well folks, that is fascism and I and many others do not care if the courts say government can do that. This is contrary to the Constitution of the U.S. and people in the Midwest are not going to put up with it. Try to enforce your eminent domain land seizures in some part of the Midwest and you had better bring your own private army (I doubt if our national Army will support you). If You want a revolution in this nation Pickens is proposing a good way to polarize people to bring that about.

Now I want to know why congress is listening to a 80 year old multimillionaire who has vested interests in windmills? Obviously many people have many different ideas about how to solve this problem but they are not appearing before congress, so why only listen to this wacky old man who stands to make a lot of money on windmills? Could it be that he is telling Democrats what they already want to hear?

Here is another view of T. Boone Pickens and his windmilling of America that confirms some of what I said and other view from a different angle.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Oil prices will hit $300 a barrel in 10 years if the United States fails to reduce its dependence on foreign imports, billionaire oil investor T. Boone Pickens told U.S. lawmakers on Tuesday

Pickens has been touring the country pushing a plan under which domestic natural gas supplies would be used to power cars instead of electrical power plants. The federal government and private investors would build a massive wind farm system in the middle of the country from Mexico to Canada to provide electricity.

Pickens, who heads the hedge fund BP Capital, stands to benefit from such a program. He’s building a 4,000 megawatt, $10 billion wind farm in northern Texas that should start generating power in 2011.

industry group the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) has said the Pickens plan could work if the government renews the production tax credit for renewable energy, preferably for longer than a year or two.

“I think we’re talking eminent domain,” Pickens told reporters after the hearing, referring to the practice in which the government sometimes seizes private property with monetary compensation. He said bringing the power to the coasts would take an effort similar to former president Dwight Eisenhower’s building of the national highway system during the Cold War.

American oil can really be brought to market in just a few years.

The only reason it takes ten years to bring new oil fields to the market is environmentalist lawsuits and government bureaucracy. If we actually treated this as a national emergency we could bring new American oil to the market in one or two years. So everyone sick of these high oil prices needs to tell congress to get it done. Environmental concerns were waved in the building of the boarder fence in the interest of national security and so can it be in the drilling of new oil fields.

T. Boone Pickens is making a big national campaign to convince people that windmills are the answer. They are not. You have to have backup generation for windmills for when the wind is not blowing. That adds huge costs of duplication of generation. You also have to manufacture the windmills and build a power distribution system. That will take at least ten years before there is any major impact on energy. Also the natural gas they claim will be saved will never be used to power motor vehicles. That is simply a pipe dream.

So tell congress to drill here and drill now and to make it a national security issue so the environmentalists cannot tie up the drilling in court for years. Also tell congress to get the government to get their oil leases out on a more timely schedule. It is also interesting that this article claims that newer estimates put U.S. oil reserves at 350 billion barrels not even counting shale and oil sand deposits. That makes the reserves approach that of Saudi Arabia. When you count shale and oil sand deposits and coal we have trillions of barrels of oil. We have enough oil for the worlds needs for a thousand years and this oil is recoverable at less than $50 a barrel. So who needs ugly expensive windmills all over the landscape? Drill here drill now!

Investor’s Business Daily: Does It Have To Take A Decade To Bring New Crude To Market?

In areas where the bureaucratic hurdles are over and lawsuits are absent, oil has been drilled and brought to the market in as little as one or two years. Louisiana’s offshore areas are an example.

California’s 10 billion barrels in offshore oil could be brought to market in as little as a year “if the moratorium were lifted,” according to a recent Sanford C. Bernstein report said, citing that the oil is under shallow water and drilling platforms already exist.

To be sure, oil won’t be flowing tomorrow even if all drilling restrictions were lifted.

That doesn’t mean it won’t impact prices.

Oil prices are influenced by futures markets — where people buy and sell future supplies of oil. Futures prices are now higher than spot prices, a signal that supply is tight.

If we have the will to drill, we can break the negative market psychology and send oil tumbling back below $100 a barrel.
