I have more than once said that this would happen. North Korea has been getting freebies from America for 15 years to stop their nuclear development and has done nothing but make nukes. You cannot deal with madmen. If you read this article you will see even after the 11 disablement measures are actually taken (they have been halted) it would only take North Korea only about a year to start the facilities up again (what a great deal!). Not to even mention the secret uranium project that North Korea has that is still making nuclear material that no one is talking about or the nuclear bombs it already has made for export. So the North Koreans found ways to backed out of all the deals and have make fools out of both the Clinton Administration and the Bush Administration. North Korea now hopes to take on what they know will even be a more foolish Obama Administration.

The North’s announcement marks the emergence of the biggest hurdle yet to the communist nation’s denuclearization process under a landmark deal last year and is expected to escalate tension in the nuclear talks involving China, Japan, the two Koreas, the US and Russia.

Pyongyang’s Foreign Ministry said it suspended the disablement work at the reactor and other facilities at its Yongbyon nuclear complex as of August 14 because the US did not keep its promise to delist Pyongyang as a terror sponsor under last year’s deal.

The ministry also said the country will “consider soon a step to restore” the Yongbyon nuclear facilities, but did not elaborate.

Yang Moo-jin, a professor at Seoul’s University of North Korean Studies, called Tuesday’s statement “very serious” and said that it could mean Pyongyang may have decided not to deal with the administration of US President George W. Bush.

South Korean and US officials have said eight of the 11 disablement measures have been finished and that when the entire disablement is completed, it would take at least a year for the North to restart the facilities.

From what I know a determined enemy would not have great difficulty in taking down the whole Internet. It probably could even be done by a well trained coordinated terrorist group. I have come to the conclusion that any website or any target can be brought down fairly easily. To bring down the whole system would just take a larger more sophisticated effort and that is very likely in a war.

We need to realize that the Internet is not reliable or secure and we should not be controlling our critical infrastructures and just-in-time-inventories solely relying on the Internet as it is designed now. One of these days we are going to wake up and the whole Internet system will be down and it is not going to come back up anytime soon. Then what is the back up plan? Going back to the 50’s without inventories or electronics? How will you even get your money out of the bank? Try buying something at a store with a charge card when the Internet is down.

The Internet needs to be completely redesigned from the ground up making security the primary issue. Either that or just use the internet for fun and games and information but don’t ever think it will be there for corporations, finance and government to communicate after a sophisticated attack by an enemy. Like the EMP threat our society is betting it’s whole future on access to those 1’s and 0’s. There is no access to those databases of 1’s and 0’s if the electricity is out or communications between electronic devices are no longer there.

The tactic exploits the internet routing protocol BGP (Border Gateway Protocol) to let an attacker surreptitiously monitor unencrypted internet traffic anywhere in the world, and even modify it before it reaches its destination.

The demonstration is only the latest attack to highlight fundamental security weaknesses in some of the internet’s core protocols. Those protocols were largely developed in the 1970s with the assumption that every node on the then-nascent network would be trustworthy. The world was reminded of the quaintness of that assumption in July, when researcher Dan Kaminsky disclosed a serious vulnerability in the DNS system. Experts say the new demonstration targets a potentially larger weakness.

Someone ought to write a book about why Catholics still go to to Mass, communion and confession when they believe nothing at all about what their church teaches. It is not like they got further enlightened by other Christian faiths either. They know nothing of Christianity period. In fact, if the Catholic Church did the discipline that their own doctrine requires of them more than half of the Catholic Church would now be excommunicated. Pelosi denies that Catholicism condemns abortion (OneNewsNow.com)

WASHINGTON - In an appearance on the NBC program Meet the Press on Sunday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, a self-professed Catholic, denied that the Catholic Church condemns abortion.

Pelosi again side-stepped the question, suggesting that the Catholic Church’s current position is only a recent position and that “over the history of the church, this is an issue of controversy.”

The president of the Catholic League, Bill Donohue, responded to Pelosi’s statements on Meet the Press, observing that the Catholic Church’s position on abortion is clear beyond any doubt. “Here is what the Catechism of the Catholic Church says: ‘Human life must be respected and protected absolutely from the moment of conception.’”

He continued, “It also says, ‘Since the first century the Church has affirmed the moral evil of every procured abortion. This teaching has not changed and remains unchangeable.’ Looks like Pelosi didn’t study the subject long enough. But not to worry: We are sending her a copy of Catholicism for Dummies today.”

Pelosi concluded her appearance by contradicting another doctrine of the Catholic Church by advocating contraception. Contraception is officially condemned by the Catholic Church as “intrinsically evil.”

Planned Parenthood promotes casual sex to kids on website

A website sponsored by Planned Parenthood, the biggest player in America’s billion dollar abortion industry, is promoting oral sex and casual encounters in the name of encouraging the prevention of sexually transmitted diseases, critics say.

“This website is engineered to reach the youth of America and undoubtedly will be featured in their health curriculum that is in many of our public school systems,” warned Rev. Clenard H. Childress Jr., of the Life Education And Resource Network.

The organization specifically cited a video that appears to have a black youth performing oral sex on a white youth, under the supervision of a white guidance counselor.

“It is obvious the deliberate depravation and systemic racism of Planned Parenthood continues to reach new levels of disgust,” he said.

Critics said it is time that the corporation is held accountable for the videos.

“This can’t go on,” added Damon Owens, founder of Joy Filled Marriage in West Orange, N.J.

The Planned Parenthood website is called “Take Care Down There.”

Childress said his organization also is calling on the Rainbow Coalition, led by Jesse Jackson, to demand a national boycott of Planned Parenthood and an apology for its practices.

OLYMPIA, Wash. - She has headlined parades, appeared on television and signed legislation.

But all that couldn’t get Governor Christine Gregoire into a downtown Olympia bar.

She is not alone. The Washington State Liquor Control Board says it gets complaints all the time from people who are clearly of age but who still get carded. Spokesperson Jennifer Skoda says the state law doesn’t spell out who should be carded. It just says where there may be a question of a person’s right to purchase liquor, the person shall be required to present ID.

“The burden is also with the licensee to ensure their patrons are over 21,” Skoda said.

Todd Ruzicka owns the bar. He says he has no idea why the part-time bouncer chose to card someone who’s almost three times his age.

How about if you cannot find the state your voting in on a map of the United States you cannot vote. You don’t even have to read to do that but it would probably eliminate almost half of all Americans. You better not use a globe or a third of them could not even find the United States.

Should All Americans be allowed to vote? - HUMAN EVENTS

Should we allow just anyone with a registration card to vote? In my view, we should not. There will be those who will abhor the notion that only “smart” people should be allowed to vote and how and where, they will argue, can you draw the line? Good questions, certainly, but we had better try real hard to embrace the argument and find some answers.

The vetting process can be debated and the final definitions of the “authorities” over voter legitimacy can be formulated at length to make a new system as fair as can be. But it does need to be done, and the sooner the better, because allowing really stupid people to vote for really stupid reasons or no reason at all is in itself a very bad idea.

Now notice in the commentary lines for this article who will address the concepts embraced in this article and who will instead simply attack me for having a father they didn’t like, or call me a “neo-con” (whatever that really is), or decry my Harvard education or some other utterly absurd personal attack and/or off the issue remark. Certainly that is their right

Oil and investment mogul and tycoon T. Boone Pickens has been telling Americans that they “have no control over the price of gasoline and diesel” and “cannot drill their way out of an oil crisis.” While Pickens is correct to point out that the US has become too dependent on foreign oil, his statements are misleading and very incorrect.

America does have the ability to produce enough oil from drilling and from coal, tar sands and shale to not only control, lower and stabilize gasoline, diesel and jet fuel prices but to make the US independent of ALL foreign energy sources for over a hundred years even before the US would need to turn to significant numbers of nuclear fission and/or fusion electricity generating power plants.

It will be interesting to see how the liberal socialists will get by the First Amendment to the U.S constitution when they pass their hate speech laws that they are all but certain to pass under the next administration.

Ultimately the hate speech laws will be tested and decided by the Supreme Court on its constitutionality. The court by this point will be Liberal. The judges will then just redefine the Bill of Rights in the Constitution to what they want it to say rather than what it clearly says. Its already happened in the Supreme Court of California.

Once the Constitution can be redefined by a few people in black robes it will have lost its meaning and will be subverted. Then we will see tyranny right here in the good old U.S.A.

After those laws are passed and upheld you can be certain that the special interest groups will be monitoring everything that is said anywhere and turning anything that hurts their feelings over to the thought police for enforcement and punishment.

Then it will be time for the oppressed to overthrow this government tyranny or start a new free union of states that abides by the Constitution of the U.S.

As everyone who ever served in the military, government and police forces knows, you have already sworn to uphold the Constitution of the United States against all enemies foreign and domestic. We can read for ourselves what the Bill of Rights says and no redefining of the Bill of Rights is going to change the self-evident truths of the wording within those bills passed by U.S. constitutional amendment.

If the liberal progressives want to do away with our rights they need to do it by passing a constitutional amendment to do that but they know it will never pass. Perhaps the most important basis for a free society is the right of free political and religious speech. In every totalitarian society there is an oppression of these two foundations of freedom. Why? The answer is simple. Those in power who have a tyrannical motivation are afraid the masses may be swayed by ideas that are contrary to their indoctrination. Thus any opposing ideas become the weapon of freedom that must be stopped. The basic understanding of the power of free speech was recognized by our founding fathers as a deterrent to tyrannical government.

Due to this relativistic thinking problem the society is bending concerning these rights. That is a fact that should scare anyone who holds “these truths to be self evident.” The abridging of free religious and political speech is an affront against the liberty of all. Why is it a problem for all? It is a problem for all because once the freedom is gone it is gone for everyone. When a system turns to tyranny, all people are caught in its grip and become part of the totalitarian system.

Due to the insanity of the left, liberals, homosexual activists, and rabid race baiters, it has now become more acceptable to limit the freedom of political and religious speech. The idea that the government should have the right to punish people simply based on their thoughts and ideas is a complete abandonment of the Constitutional principles this nation was founded on.

Those who want the so called “hate speech” legislation are directly attacking one of the most sacred freedoms we have. The truth is that you have a right to hate me but you do not have a right to act out on that hate in any way that violates my person, property, or rights. Are you ready for them to limit your thinking and expression? In order for freedom to work, there must be the right to speak unpopular positions without threats and intimidation from the government.

The first amendment of the Constitution says “Congress shall make no law.” How is it that Congress is attempting to make a law limiting the speech of Americans? How is it that so many people seem to think that this is a good idea? Why is there no outrage from the masses about this blatant attack on our foundational liberties? Why? Because most people have no idea what the Constitution says or why it says it. Most Americans have been dumbed down to the point where they simply do not grasp the principles of liberty that America was founded on.

It is clear what is really going on in the push for “hate speech” legislation. The left wants to stop preachers from preaching against homosexuality. There is also a Gestapo like insanity against anyone who would dare to criticize a racial minority. If for example a person is speaking out against affirmative action racial preferences, who’s to say that is not hateful? If my speech offends you, that is the price of freedom. If you do not wish to pay that price, I suggest you move to one of the many totalitarian states where your every word and movement are controlled.

Since Americans depend on government more each day the war against our liberty has begun. Some of us are fighting against the powers of tyranny. Frankly T. Boone Pickens not only stands to make a lot of money on government subsidies for windmills he is flat out wrong on many counts. Oil will not hit $300 a barrel it is more likely to be $50 a barrel in inflation adjusted dollars for centuries to come if congress just allows oil drilling where we know there is oil. All we need is for liberal government and the environmental fascists to get out of the way and stop blocking the development of our oil and coal resources. If oil drilling was treated as the national emergency that it is we will solve the problem within a few years. We have the equivalent of trillions of barrels of oil in the US in oil shale, oil sands and coal. We have enough oil for many centuries, that will take care our our long term problem. We also have enough oil offshore that can be brought on line in a one to five years that will take care much of our short term problem.

It will not take ten years like the democrats claim unless government and the environmental fascists make it take ten years with their bureaucracy and lawsuits. We need to treat this like the homeland security issue it is and cut the red tape.

Pickens thinks we can free up natural gas with windmills and use the gas to power vehicles but even the gas people disagree with that. If we really wanted to free up natural gas we already have a much cheaper way of doing that. We would just have to build many more coal plants but God forbid that we dump any more helpful CO2 into the atmosphere and help the plants grow.

As I have said before, windmills have to be backed up by conventional power sources because when the wind is not blowing or it us blowing too hard as it often does in the Midwest windmills do not work. Solar does not work at night and there never will be any way to store power for periods of shortfall. So unless everyone stops using electricity when the wind stops blowing or is blowing too hard or after the sun sets this is not the answer.

Besides that, it will be an environmental disaster. Do these people have any clue what a eye sore blight this will be. 150 foot steel windmills will stretch from horizon to horizon along with their power distribution system that will make current electric lines look pleasing. It will decimate the bird populations. Do you think that giant solar farms will not have an environmental impact? What impact will they have on the animals that occupy that habitat? I will bet you will not take your family to have a picnic there. If you don’t believe me about windmills come to Western New York when they have put up these windmills farms and have ruined once very scenic ridge tops. People cannot sell their property because no one want to live near the windmills. Some people cannot tolerate the low noise that the windmills make day and night. The windmills will decimate the bird populations and they cannot produce electricity at anywhere near current rates. The costs of windmills are paid by taxpayers, robbing Peter to pay Paul, or higher electric rates.

Also notice that T. Boone Pickens proposes that they take property away by using eminent domain claims anywhere where they want to build their alternative energy boondoggles. Well folks, that is fascism and I and many others do not care if the courts say government can do that. This is contrary to the Constitution of the U.S. and people in the Midwest are not going to put up with it. Try to enforce your eminent domain land seizures in some part of the Midwest and you had better bring your own private army (I doubt if our national Army will support you). If You want a revolution in this nation Pickens is proposing a good way to polarize people to bring that about.

Now I want to know why congress is listening to a 80 year old multimillionaire who has vested interests in windmills? Obviously many people have many different ideas about how to solve this problem but they are not appearing before congress, so why only listen to this wacky old man who stands to make a lot of money on windmills? Could it be that he is telling Democrats what they already want to hear?

The federal government and private investors would build a massive wind farm system in the middle of the country from Mexico to Canada to provide electricity.

Pickens, who heads the hedge fund BP Capital, stands to benefit from such a program. He’s building a 4,000 megawatt, $10 billion wind farm in northern Texas that should start generating power in 2011.

industry group the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) has said the Pickens plan could work if the government renews the production tax credit for renewable energy, preferably for longer than a year or two.

“I think we’re talking eminent domain,” Pickens told reporters after the hearing, referring to the practice in which the government sometimes seizes private property with monetary compensation. He said bringing the power to the coasts would take an effort similar to former president Dwight Eisenhower’s building of the national highway system during the Cold War.

Well Chuck Norris, I usually agree with you and I see the problem but your solution is not at all logical and it would not bring good government. We already have two separate branches in the legislator branch of government to deal with the representation problem. What you are proposing would effectively do away with the role of the House of Representatives. The Senate has two representatives from each state because that government body is meant to give equal representation to each state in the Union. However the House of Representatives is supposed to represent the population of the nation. The point of this is not to have a bunch of low population states dictating law to high population states at the national level. If you reduced the House to one member from each state as you suggest you would just have a second Senate. So the states would be doubly represented but the people of this nation would not have equal representation at the nation level.

If we were to do what you suggest we might as well become 50 independent nations or go under a unified treaty like what the EU is proposing and let unelected bureaucrats be appointed by the Senate to dictate federal governance over all the states (of course if we did that we would soon be under tyranny)

The problem is not the number of representatives in the House of Representatives the 9 percent approval rate reflects that these people are not representing the people or more likely that the nation is so divided that they can accomplish nothing.

We need to start electing representatives to the House that represent the common people. That means the make up of the House should not all be professional politicians and lawyers. That would take care of part of the problem but like I said, much of the reason the House and Senate can do nothing is because the people in this nation are deeply divided. That problem cannot be resolved in a Republican without a majority vision or compromise.

One thing we can do is to have major election reform. Incumbents have a huge fund raising advantage and media coverage advantage. Money should not be a factor in national elections but it is now the major factor. If it were not, the make up of the House would change overnight.

I don’t only think there are too many cooks in Congress’ kitchen nowadays, but the numbers are stacked in discriminatory ways. For example, if California represents a larger liberal voice with its 53 representatives, what chance or how fair is it for smaller more conservative states who have between one and five representatives and votes in the House? The U.S. doesn’t need a new reapportionment act to raise the number of representatives, but a return to the Constitution to reduce the number of representatives in pursuit of creating more equitable regions or districts. Personally, I believe, just as we have one governor per state, we should consider reducing Congress to one representative and two senators per state (the minimal by constitutional requirements). If one representative works for Alaska, Delaware, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Vermont and Wyoming, why can’t it work for all the rest of the states? Here’s a movie we all can star in: “Honey, I shrunk the Congress!”

This controversy about Obama’s birth is all pretty dumb and it is a red herring. The constitution of the U.S. says the President has to be a natural-born U.S. citizen. If I went to Canada just to get back in this country I would have to produce a valid birth certificate. The government should have done a background check on everyone in the Senate for their security clearance and if he was not born in the U.S. that would be known and he would not be in the race. If it turns out that they did not do their job we have a much bigger problems than Obama’s place of birth we need a dysfunctional unsecured government. I suggest you waste your time on the real issues. If you want to be taken as a serious news source post credible articles.

Imagine there’s no warming …

Again, if the high priests of global warming could actually make an impact on the weather through their draconian plans to steal our freedom and our prosperity, their goal of lowering temperatures would be, at best, a net plus for some and a net negative for others. It would almost certainly result in less food production, for example. Consider that as we begin to see food shortages and rationing around the globe due to much less significant central planning efforts already under way.

To review and summarize, then, what we’re left with, when it comes to the global warming agenda, is a fraudulent crisis cooked up to control and enslave the world’s population under the guide of benevolent global socialism and an equally fraudulent solution to that crisis – one that would be a bad idea even if it could work, which it can’t!

Here you have Judge Thelma Moore (I think all her middle names prove something else), a local Fulton County judge stopping the building of a 2 billion dollar coal electric generation plant costing the county thousands of jobs. Aside from her misguided judgment on CO2 why would anyone let one county judge to have that much power over their lives? Why will they allow this judge to continue to have a job in this county when their own jobs will be taken away by her decree? When local people allow one person to have that much control over their livelihood they have given up their right to life liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

What you are not being told is that the Left is opposing the development of the HUGE oil reserves in the U.S. and Canada through congressional legislation. The Federal government is now not allowed to buy oil sands oil from Canada but that is only the tip of the iceberg. Drilling on oil shale lands on Federal lands in the United States is illegal thanks to congress. Between the oil shale lands and the tar sands we have more oil reserves then the rest of the world combined and it can be developed at less than $50 a barrel. On top of that the democrats block off shore drilling and they are trying to legislate the shutting down of our coal industry. I think the worst enemy of the people of the United States is our own domestic socialist and environmental Democrat terrorists. Obama Gets Tough – On Canada! - CWN

one of the few bright spots in the foreign oil market has been our neighbor to the north – Canada. In fact, it may surprise you to learn that the number one foreign supplier of our imported oil is Canada, not Saudi Arabia. Canada is not only a reliable supplier of drilled oil and natural gas, but it also has incredible supplies of oil trapped in “tar sands.” At current prices, it is cost effective to “squeeze” that oil out of the tar sands and bring it to the marketplace. By every estimate, the oil in Canada’s tar sands rivals Saudi Arabia’s known reserves. Already that oil represents 47% of Canada’s total output and other countries, especially China, are trying to sign contracts to get it.

But if Barack Obama has his way, we are likely to watch that oil go everywhere but here. Last week, in a statement most of the media ignored, he called the Canadian oil “dirty,” and his top energy advisor raised serious reservations about whether the United States under a “President Obama” would even want the tar sands oil. And since Barack Obama opposes drilling for our own oil, guess what will happen to the price at the pump when we take the Canadian oil off the table?

But that’s really the Left’s dirty little secret — it doesn’t object to high gas prices. In fact, the Left see higher prices as just one more way for Big Government to control your life.

Now get this: Last year, liberal California Democrat Henry Waxman snuck a provision into the 2007 energy bill that prohibits the federal government from using coal-based fuels, oil shale and tar sands, all of which the United States and Canada have in abundance, in order to combat global warming. The United States Air Force is desperately trying to get this provision repealed since it immediately recognized the potential risk to our national security of another Arab oil embargo now that Rep. Waxman and his fellow Democrats have prevented the Air Force from using Canadian oil sands. It’s hard to fly planes if you can’t get the jet fuel you need. Efforts to repeal the Waxman provision are being led by Rep. Jeb Hensarling (R-TX) and Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-OK), two outstanding conservative champions.

I wrote about the EMP threat to the United States two years ago based on a congressional report. In that article I say that the likelihood of a EMP occurring over the United States between now and 2025AD is about 70 percent. I will not duplicate all the details of my article here. So this danger is well founded in science and it is known by our government.

I will just say if an EMP occurred at the right altitude over the United States we would return to the 19th century for months or even years. Just imagine a nation of three hundred million people dependent on electricity for everything not having any electricity for months or years. It would be the end of the U.S. as we know it. If you watched the Jericho series you might have some idea of how people would be living.

We can prevent much of the damage of a EMP by just hardening our electronic infrastructure and if we started now that could be done in about 5 to 10 years. A EMP after then would still cause damage but it would not bring down the nation like it will now.

It would not cost that much to shield our critical electronic components. This would be cheap insurance. The government knows this but years after the report they have not even started to protect this nation. You might ask your representatives why? I suppose it is because since the general population knows little about this issue their being proactive on national security does not get them reelected. So they do nothing, although their doing nothing could mean the end of this nation. Just thought you ought to know.

It now has been four years since Dr. William Graham, Science Advisor to President Ronald W. Reagan and Chairman of the General Advisory Committee on Arms Control and Disarmament, and a distinguished panel completed a study of High Altitude Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) and its potential effects upon this country. The conclusions of this study are the most frightening I have seen concerning modern-day threats.

Few have heard of it because the report has yet to be made public. The reason it has not been made public is simple: if EMP were understood by the American people, the next logical question would be what steps the government has taken to reduce the possibility of an EMP attack in this country. To date little has been done. When the American people realize as much, the outrage will be palpable.

Almost immediately all communications systems in the country would be disrupted completely. No radio. No television. No internet. Indeed no electricity at all. Most of the country literally would be in the dark with no possibility of recovering any electrical facilities. We would not be able to run our cars because the gasoline pumps would not work. Water distribution systems would not work.

Why Bush would deal with a mad man is a mystery only known to himself and the mad people running our State Department. I will want to hear the story one day but I fear it might be an advanced case of what Ronald Regan got or some kind of coup d’état. Otherwise, it is very difficult to understand the radical change in Bush in the last few years. Maybe He wants to show some peace gesture to the world before Israel bombs Iran forcing the U.S. to join them. Or perhaps Bush needed this to get China and Russia to sign off on a strike on Iran. Who knows?

The U.S. is being played the fool by North Korea. We get to pay for the dismantling of their aging reactor and to supply them with critical food and energy and they get to keep the nuclear material and their missiles to deliver nukes. They also get to possibly try again to get nuclear material to other terrorists states like Syria and Iran.

Nothing is said about North Korea’s secret Uranium enrichment program that may continue to produce fissionable material. Now we are going to lift all sanctions and embargoes like they actually did something good and just turn a blind eye to the fact they just tried to give Syria what it takes to make a nuke. If that does not make North Korea a terrorist state I do not know what does. Thanks to Israel that plan was stopped but who knows what is going on in the slimy little demented mind of Kim Jong III?.

It now turns out that the options the U.S. had been contemplating were designed not to punish North Korean duplicity but to encourage it. So it is that, despite its recent collaboration with Hezbollah-sponsor Syria – to say nothing of its intent, in the run-up the Iraq war, to sell $10 million worth of medium-range missiles to Saddam Hussein for use against coalition troops – North Korea no longer will be designated a terrorist state. Never mind that the country has yet to come clean about its nuclear program. In the eyes of the Bush administration, North Korea has been given a clean slate.

And legitimacy. Notwithstanding its defiance of every nuclear treaty it has ever signed – a habit of violation that continues in its latest declaration, which reportedly discusses only plutonium processing activities and not the uranium enrichment and nuclear capabilities that were supposed to have been declared – North Korea is being treated as a credible partner in negotiations instead of the extortionist state that it clearly is. Fool the Bush administration once, the lesson appears to be, and you wind up in the “axis-of-evil.” Fool it repeatedly, and all is forgiven.

As always with North Korea, there are token concessions. To demonstrate its sincerity, Pyongyang has invited foreign TV crews to broadcast its demolition of the cooling tower at the notorious Yongbyon nuclear plant. It promises to be quite the affair, though one would have to be really taken in by spectacle to forget that the plant was already supposed to be completely disabled in the 1990s and, more recently, by the end of 2007. Nor will the made-for-the-cameras moment prove that North Korea has nothing to hide. The facility at Yongbyon is believed to have been shuttered last year, having already produced enough weapons-grade plutonium to build, by some estimates, at least nine nuclear bombs. To see the destruction of this Potemkin reactor as a sign of genuine progress is to yield to illusion.

It is weak presidents that lead to miscalculations and war. Zumwalt did not even mention that JFK also got us into the war with Vietnam. With the facts of this article in mind if Obama gets elected we can expect a test of Obama’s metal by Islamic radicals in the first year of Obama’s Presidency. We really should not be putting people in the White House in troubled times that are idealistic unrealistic dummies. Inexperience will not be Obama’s only problem it is his unrealistic worldview.

Obama’s JFK analogy conveniently omits two important points: it was Kennedy’s perceived weakness that precipitated the Cuban Missile Crisis; it was not his negotiation talents that extracted him from it.

As civil unrest hit Iran in 1979, Jimmy Carter pressured Tehran’s pro-US Shah to abandon his country to a man Carter believed to be Islam’s Mahatma Gandhi — the Ayotollah Ruhollah Khomeini. This “Gandhi” turned out to be more like Attila the Hun. Khomeini embarked upon a purge grander than the reign of terror introduced by the French Revolution’s Robespierre almost two centuries earlier. Carter’s naivete provided Islamic extremism with a national flag and a breeding ground for exporting Islamofascism abroad and into the 21st century. America’s reward for Carter’s assistance was the seizure of the US embassy and hostages there, followed by Tehran’s designation of the US as the “Great Satan.”

We have been in a perpetual and undeclared war with Iran ever since.

Of course, the Iranians already knew, from Obama’s earlier actions, he would be a weak-kneed leader. They gained this insight last year when Obama refused to vote for the Kyl-Lieberman amendment, which sought to label the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps — the organization of holy Islamic warriors that has left its violent footprint throughout the region — on the grounds it constituted “saber-rattling.” Color as “weak” — from Iran’s viewpoint, and ours — any US leader who refuses to officially label a terrorist group as “terrorists.”

Ignoring the fact the only times Iranian extremists reigned in their adventurism was in the face of US resolve, Obama believes he, as president, is capable of talking rationally with an Iranian leadership incapable of doing so. It is inexperience that causes one to boast he can do what three-decades of domination by theocratic extremism in Iran’s leadership and the failure of the international community in curtailing Tehran’s nuclear program tells us cannot be done

The skills are not quite gone they are in books and on the Internet or in the heads of people living in the third world nations. It should not take long to dig the information up. The scary thing in this nation among young people is… how many can even read? Worse yet how many can comprehend and apply what they read? Today they would need to call a team meeting to figure out that cows do not grow in shrunk wrapped packages.

Our own government tells us to keep a three month supply of food and water on hand for each member of our family because in these days of just-in-time insanity inventories any disruption will clean the stores out in 24 hours. Of course few are paying any attention to what Homeland Security tells them to do, so many of them will be standing in line with their tin cup sooner or later. I think the tin cup generation will follow the postmodern X generation.

Let’s hear it for the ants

We are a nation that has totally, utterly, completely lost the ability to take care of ourselves. Virtually everything we own or consume – our homes, our transportation, our clothes, our food, our water, our basic sanitary needs – are provided by someone else. The division of labor has gotten so extreme that we are now parasitically lost without it. One small interruption and we’re in trouble.

I’ve heard it said that most Americans are so helpless and ignorant that we would starve to death standing next to a cow in a field of ripe wheat.

We are astoundingly vulnerable – not just because of our dependency on foreign oil and other such issues, but because we have lost much of the knowledge and connection to the skills of our forefathers, the wisdom mankind has honed since the dawn of civilization. We have lost that wisdom in only two or three short generations. The pioneer spirit may still be among us – after all, there are lots of entrepreneurs – but the basic, butt-hard, labor-intensive skills that used to be common knowledge are gone.

Does anyone with a brain actually believe that Obama is qualified to be President of the U.S.? Does the average person even know what Obama believes on anything? Sure, he has a lot of support from people who cannot tell you where Canada is located. Much of America has been brainwashed and pre-programed to just go along to get along and that about sums up their formal “education”. Oh sure, they can tell you who Paris Hilton is having breakfast with. They have a form of intelligence but they are about a deep as Hilton is. Don’t believe me ask the youth some political questions.

The scary thing is that we allow these dumb fools to vote in people like themselves to govern. Without knowledge and understanding these people will destroy this nation. Our founding fathers did not set up a Democracy for good reason. They only let the educated vote because the educated had the knowledge to vote in the knowledgeable. When the dumb foolish majority got the right to vote they soon started voting in people like themselves. Thus, you should understand the present make up of the Democratic party. Without this majority generation of dumb fools there would be no Obama running for President.

The only Thomas Jefferson these people who would vote for Obama would know is the that is living on the next block.

Allow me to begin by stating for the record that I realize how politically incorrect it is to single out a specific group of people and acknowledge their overtly foolish behaviors. But it seems we have reached a moment of insanity, when enough really should be enough!

It seems I need to give a speech to Democrats, which I have given to my children on several similar occasions. As Forest Gump learned from his Momma, “stupid is as stupid does.” People, who persist in doing stupid things, must sooner or later be referred to as “stupid!” We have reached that point with the average Democrat voter I’m afraid…

The one thing in the world Democrat politicians might be right about is the need for their voters to be saved from themselves…

As I have explained to my children, ignorance is the absence of knowledge, but stupidity is the possession of knowledge and the refusal to use it intelligently. As we are talking about obvious fundamental truths here, not nuclear physics, an absence of knowledge is not the problem.

Democrats think Obama is Qualified to be Commander-in-Chief

Yet Democrats can not name a single life achievement, or even a single life experience, which qualifies Obama to be president of the most complex and powerful nation on earth. The man thinks we have 57 states… or so.

For the record, Barack Hussein Obama is a first term U.S. Senator. Obama served only 146 days as a new senator before deciding he was qualified to be president, at which time he largely stopped his duties as senator to campaign for the Oval Office.

I understand why they are uncomfortable with having anyone point out just how foolish they are behaving, in their blind cheerleading for the most unqualified individual to ever seek the Oval Office. But at some point, don’t we really have to call it like it is.

As Thomas Jefferson so wisely pointed out, “If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be.”

We had a minor heat spell in the East recently it did not last long. The projection for next week in the Northeast is unseasonably cold. The violent wet weather in the Mid-West is due to unusually cold air clashing with the warmer air to the south and as this article indicates it has been very cold in the Northwest.

Your not hearing about melting polar ice caps this year because it is not melting like last year. Ice breakers are still not making it through. It seems that the earth’s climate has changed for the colder in the last two years but all you hear from the controlled media is the politically correct global warming hype.

If the present crew in Washington are too stupid to figure out that there in no global warming crises. I say get rid of the whole lot before they impose trillion dollar carbon tax schemes on everyone. That is their plan. Media have been falling all over themselves to report the recent heatwave in the East, but have been ignoring the cold spells happening in other parts of the country at virtually the same time.

For instance, did you know that the first week of June was the coldest in Seattle since 1891? Or that Aspen is actually re-opening this weekend to offer winter sports enthusiasts some rare June skiing in the area?
