In spite of the reports in the media about the great ice melt this year the Arctic ice melt was 30 percent less than the ice melt last year and Antarctica ice continues to increase. Some people just lie because it is in their interest to lie and to keep up the global warming hype. Anyone in Alaska will tell you that this summer was a very cold summer. It is amazing how some people want us to believe that a slight Pacific cooling is driving cooling over most of the Globe and that global warming is just taking a break for a couple of years. It is nonsense. Nobody knows what the long term climate will be because it has little to do with man made CO2.

Just a few weeks ago, predictions of Arctic ice collapse were buzzing all over the internet. Some scientists were predicting that the “North Pole may be ice-free for first time this summer”. Others predicted that the entire “polar ice cap would disappear this summer”.

The Arctic melt season is nearly done for this year. The sun is now very low above the horizon and will set for the winter at the North Pole in five weeks. And none of these dire predictions have come to pass. Yet there is, however, something odd going on with the ice data.

The Arctic did not experience the meltdowns forecast by NSIDC and the Norwegian Polar Year Secretariat. It didn’t even come close. Additionally, some current graphs and press releases from NSIDC seem less than conservative. There appears to be a consistent pattern of overstatement related to Arctic ice loss.

And what of the Antarctic? Down south, ice extent is well ahead of the recent average. Why isn’t NSIDC making similarly high-profile press releases about the increase in Antarctic ice over the last 30 years?

Al Gore needs to come down to earth from the moon, get his head out of his crystal ball and learn some fundamental science.

This Nobel buffoon challenges the U.S. to get every kilowatt of electricity out of what he calls “Earth-friendly” sources in 10 years. It can’t be done and everyone knows it. It can’t even be done in fifty years. He is even contradicting the Alliance for Climate Protection that he chairs. They say it will cost the nation 1.5 to 3 trillion dollars over thirty years and that does not even count the two billion it will cost for clean coal. So who do you think will pay this five trillion dollars? You will pay for it by higher prices on everything and through carbon taxes.

We do not have to be at the mercy of oil producing regimes. Environmentalists and globalists like Al Gore made that possible. We can once again be the largest oil producing regime on the planet. We have the largest oil and coal reserves in the world and it will cost only $50 a barrel to get it out of the ground. The oil is in oil shale and oil companies now know how to get it out of the ground without harming the environment. The U.S. and Canada have have enough oil and gas in shale, oil sands and coal to be a major exporter to the world for a thousand years. Granted it would take about 30 years before we can become a major net exporter but each year we will be producing more and more of our own oil at the equivalent of $2 a gallon gas. Those are the facts. However we need to get started if we are ever going to be a net exporter rather than an importer. That means that we have to allow oil shale development on Federal lands where most of it is located and coal plants needs to be built that will start converting coal to oil. The know how exists. Pilot project are under development that will produce oil out of shale for under $50 a barrel, the same methods can be used for oil sands. South Africa is now producing oil out of coal for most of the oil needs of their nation at $30 a barrel.

What really needs to be done is for Congress and environmentalists like Al Gore to stop blocking progress. CO2 in any level that man produces is beneficial to the earth. It makes green plants grow and there is no evidence that it is linked to global warming. In fact, as CO2 level continue to increase the earth has not cooled in over a decade and it actually started major cooling in the last two years. Alaska as I speak is having the coldest summer in a long time. Your not going to see pictures of ice free passages in the Arctic this year unless they use last years footage (that is not at all above them). So without any evidence they say global warming is taking a ten year break and it will start again once they ramrod their crazy energy policies on much of the world. This really has nothing to do with global warming it is all about global control of everyone.

Increased volcanic activity will more likely have more effect on CO2 in the future then anything that man does. Since man only causes less then five percent of the CO2 in the atmosphere.

Another thing is Al Gore and other globalist like him are the ones who exported all our manufacturing to other nations. So they created the rapid uncontrolled development in China and India and now they say that these nations are causing the problem by using more oil. So they created the problem and now the same people who created the problem tell us the problem they created is the cause of the world oil shortage. Gee, maybe you people should of thought of that before you exported all of manufacturing jobs to nations that have few environmental controls. They governments are also subsidizing the cost of oil in these developing nations. If they let the free market set the price of oil many of the jobs would go elsewhere and China and India would not keep expanding at this insane rate.

Al Gore also does not understand economics 101. Oil prices can only go as high as people are willing to pay for it. They are not going to keep going up. If they did there would be a world depression and oil demand would decline. We heard the same nonsense under Jimmy Carter in the late 70’s but then oil prices declined under Ronald Regan due to free enterprise.

That is why anytime you hear of the likelihood of a recession in the U.S. oil prices suddenly decline. If we had a severe recession in this country all nations exports would suffer and these countries would be using less oil. It is possible that in a world recession oil prices could be back under $30 a barrel. There is also new oil coming on line in the next two years that could help push prices down. The main reason oil continues to go up is on the future speculation that demand will increase ten years down the line. However, if we start major drilling programs and other energy development that will take the future out of the oil futures market and oil will go down to what it is actually worth.

I suggest they we have a moon project and send Al Gore to the moon before the globe suffers irreparable harm from the global carbon scheme that he is pushing and his crystal ball predictions of doom.

The Alliance for Climate Protection, a bipartisan group that he chairs, estimates the cost of transforming the nation to so-called clean electricity sources at $1.5 trillion to $3 trillion over 30 years in public and private money. But he says it would cost about as much to build ozone-killing coal plants to satisfy current demand.

To meet his 10-year goal, Gore said nuclear energy output would continue at current levels while the nation dramatically increases its use of solar, wind, geothermal and so-called clean coal energy. Huge investments must also be made in technologies that reduce energy waste and link existing grids, he said.

If the nation fails to act, the cost of oil will continue to rise as fast-growing China and India increase demand, Gore said. Sustained addiction to oil also will place the nation at the mercy of oil-producing regimes, he said, and the globe would suffer irreparable harm.

Government experts recently predicted that, at the current rate, world energy demand will grow 50 percent over the next two decades. The Energy Information Administration also said in its long-range forecast to 2030 that the world is not close to abandoning fossil fuels despite their effect on global warming.

The carbon taxation has started in some nations already and in some cities in the U.S. In Britain they all will soon have carbon rationing cards if the British people are stupid enough to let the politicians get away with it.

On July 1, citizens of Canada’s British Columbia began paying a so-called carbon tax for reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The provincial government is levying the tax on most fossil fuels, including gasoline and home heating fuel. British Columbia hopes the new policy will cause people to drive less and conserve more energy, thus leading to a significant cut in greenhouse gas emissions that allegedly contribute to climate change.

In addition, according to Mike Baker, a political strategist who has studied the new Canadian tax law, citizens will be expected to pay taxes for wood stove and fireplace emissions, farm equipment, trucks, automobiles and anything else that utilizes fossil fuel. He predicts there will come a time in the not to distant future when even water and clean air consumption by individuals will be taxed.

“New ‘Gobal Warming’ cops will be hired to drive around the county looking for smoke coming out of peoples chimneys and write hefty tickets to those that refuse to comply. A goldmine of new found money coming to city and county cofers,” added Baker.

“If replicated in the United States — as Al Gore and others want — this will be one of the biggest power grabs in US history.

“It’s all about who will control the earth resources. It’s big government laying claim to the waters, oceans, lakes, forests, birds, animals, earth’s land surface, the air we breathe, the food we eat and the sky and space, as well as you and me!” said Joan Veon, CEO of the Women’s International Media Group and a recognized expert in politically-motivated scientific research. Claims that recent severe weather and flooding in the US are proof of human CO2 impacts on global climate are scientific nonsense. They are part of a pattern of keeping weather and climate issues in the public mind.

World sea ice is at or near a modern high, despite modern measurements beginning in the coldest decade of the past century. You can look these things up. It’s called climate. Which changes. Always.

The cooling trend is so strong that recently the head of the United Nation’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change had to acknowledge it. He speculated that nature has temporarily overwhelmed mankind’s warming and it may be ten years or so before the warming returns. Oh, really. We are supposed to be in a panic about man-made global warming and the whole thing takes a ten year break because of the lack of Sun spots. If this weren’t so serious, it would be laughable.

Now allow me to talk a little about the science behind the global warming frenzy. I have dug through thousands of pages of research papers, including the voluminous documents published by the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. I have worked my way through complicated math and complex theories. Here’s the bottom line: the entire global warming scientific case is based on the increase in carbon dioxide in the atmosphere from the use of fossil fuels. They don’t have any other issue. Carbon Dioxide, that’s it.

Hello Al Gore; Hello UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. Your science is flawed; your hypothesis is wrong; your data is manipulated. And, may I add, your scare tactics are deplorable. The Earth does not have a fever. Carbon dioxide does not cause significant global warming.

All the computer models, all of the other findings, all of the other angles of study, all come back to and are based on CO2 as a significant greenhouse gas. It is not.

Here is the deal about CO2, carbon dioxide. It is a natural component of our atmosphere. It has been there since time began. It is absorbed and emitted by the oceans. It is used by every living plant to trigger photosynthesis. Nothing would be green without it. And we humans; we create it. Every time we breathe out, we emit carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. It is not a pollutant. It is not smog. It is a naturally occurring invisible gas.

Let me illustrate. I estimate that this square in front of my face contains 100,000 molecules of atmosphere. Of those 100,000 only 38 are CO2; 38 out of a hundred thousand. That makes it a trace component. Let me ask a key question: how can this tiny trace upset the entire balance of the climate of Earth? It can’t. That’s all there is to it; it can’t.

Numerous independent research projects have been done about the greenhouse impact from increases in atmospheric carbon dioxide. These studies have proven to my total satisfaction that CO2 is not creating a major greenhouse effect and is not causing an increase in temperatures.

So with the environmentalists, the UN, Gore and Hollywood touting Global Warming and predictions of doom and gloom, the media has scrambled with excitement to climb aboard. After all the media loves a crisis. From YK2 to killer bees the media just loves to tell us our lives are threatened. And the media is biased toward liberal, so it’s pre-programmed to support Al Gore and UN. CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN, MSNBC, The New York Times, The LA Times, The Washington Post, the Associated Press and here in San Diego The Union Tribune are all constantly promoting the global warming crisis.

So who is going to go against all of that power? Not the politicians. So now the President of the United States, just about every Governor, most Senators and most Congress people, both of the major current candidates for President, most other elected officials on all levels of government are all riding the Al Gore Global Warming express. That is one crowded bus.

The battle against fossil fuels has controlled policy in this country for decades. It was the environmentalist’s prime force in blocking any drilling for oil in this country and the blocking the building of any new refineries, as well. So now the shortage they created has sent gasoline prices soaring. And, it has lead to the folly of ethanol, which is also partly behind the fuel price increases; that and our restricted oil policy. The ethanol folly is also creating a food crisis throughput the world – it is behind the food price rises for all the grains, for cereals, bread, everything that relies on corn or soy or wheat, including animals that are fed corn, most processed foods that use corn oil or soybean oil or corn syrup. Food shortages or high costs have led to food riots in some third world countries and made the cost of eating out or at home budget busting for many.

So now the global warming myth actually has lead to the chaos we are now enduring with energy and food prices. We pay for it every time we fill our gas tanks. Not only is it running up gasoline prices, it has changed government policy impacting our taxes, our utility bills and the entire focus of government funding. And, now the Congress is considering a cap and trade carbon credits policy. We the citizens will pay for that, too. It all ends up in our taxes and the price of goods and services.

So the Global warming frenzy is, indeed, threatening our civilization. Not because global warming is real; it is not. But because of the all the horrible side effects of the global warming scam.

If Al Gore and his global warming scare dictates the future policy of our governments, the current economic downturn could indeed become a recession, drift into a depression and our modern civilization could fall into an abyss. And it would largely be a direct result of the global warming frenzy.

We had a minor heat spell in the East recently it did not last long. The projection for next week in the Northeast is unseasonably cold. The violent wet weather in the Mid-West is due to unusually cold air clashing with the warmer air to the south and as this article indicates it has been very cold in the Northwest.

Your not hearing about melting polar ice caps this year because it is not melting like last year. Ice breakers are still not making it through. It seems that the earth’s climate has changed for the colder in the last two years but all you hear from the controlled media is the politically correct global warming hype.

Media have been falling all over themselves to report the recent heatwave in the East, but have been ignoring the cold spells happening in other parts of the country at virtually the same time.

The new Jason oceanographic satellite shows that 2007 was a “cool” La Nina year - but Jason also says something more important is at work: The much larger and more persistent Pacific Decadal Oscillation (PDO) has turned into its cool phase, telling us to expect moderately lower global temperatures until 2030 or so.

For the past century at least, global temperatures have tended to mirror the 20-to 30-year warmings and coolings of the north-central Pacific Ocean. We don’t know just why, but the pattern of the last century is clear: the earth warmed from about 1915 to1940, while the PDO was also warming (1925 to 46). The earth cooled from 1940 to 1975, while the PDO was cooling (1946 to 1977). The strong global warming from 1976 to 1998 was accompanied by a strong and almost-constant warming of the north-central Pacific. Ancient tree rings in Baja California and Mexico show there have been 11 such PDO shifts since 1650, averaging 23 years on length.

As a climate researcher, I am increasingly convinced that most of our recent global warming has been natural, not manmade. If true, this would mean that global temperatures can be expected to peak in the coming years (if they haven’t already), and global cooling will eventually ensue.

Just for the sake of argument, let us assume that manmade global warming really is a false alarm. In that case, we would still need to ask: What are the other negative effects of pumping more CO2 into the atmosphere?

Well, plant physiologists have known for a long time that most vegetation loves more carbon dioxide. It grows faster, is more drought-tolerant, and is more efficient in its water use. While the pre-industrial CO2 concentration of the atmosphere was only about 280 parts per million (ppm) by volume, and now it is around 380 ppm, some greenhouses pump it all the way up to around 1,000 ppm. How can environmentalists claim that helping vegetation to grow is a bad thing?

The bigger concern has been the possible effect of the extra CO2 on the world’s oceans, because more CO2 lowers the pH of seawater. While it is claimed that this makes the water more acidic, this is misleading. Since seawater has a pH around 8.1, it will take an awful lot of CO2 it to even make the water neutral (pH=7), let alone acidic (pH less than 7).

Still, the main worry has been that the extra CO2 could hurt the growth of plankton, which represents the start of the oceanic food chain. But recent research (published on April 18 in Science Express) has now shown, contrary to expectations, that one of the most common forms of plankton actually grows faster and bigger when more CO2 is pumped into the water. I think it is a bit early to say the earth is cooling and that the sunspot activity will not pick up again but like Physicist Phil Chapman said, the earth has not warmed further in the last ten years and it could now be going into a cooling period.

I do not see the logic of the counterclaim in this article that the earth is still warmer on the average then it was several decades ago. That has nothing at all to do with the claim of Chapman. He claims that the earth will now grow cooler based on sunspot theory. You people seem to imply that the earth is now too warm where it is now. Are you people really implying that the earth was better off when the earth was one degree cooler? Give me a break! The claim that brightness on the sun did not vary much says nothing about his claim either. Who is talking about brightness? Sunspot activity has not resumed up after hitting an 11-year low in March last year, raising fears that — far from warming — the globe is about to return to an Ice Age, says an Australian-American scientist.

Physicist Phil Chapman, the first native-born Australian to become an astronaut with NASA [he became an American citizen to join up, though he never went into space], said pictures from the U.S. Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO) showed no spots on the sun.

He said the world cooled quickly between January last year and January this year, by about 0.7 degrees Centigrade.

“This is the fastest temperature change in the instrumental record, and it puts us back to where we were in 1930,” Chapman wrote in The Australian Wednesday. “If the temperature does not soon recover, we will have to conclude that global warming is over.”

Al Gore apparently lost his marbles after his loss to George Bush in the Presidential election. I hear he then went into his basement and found some old slides and found a purpose for his life putting together this junk science snake oil presentation. For that effort he got awarded the Nobel Peace prize that has a history of going to snake oil salesmen.

You could have heard a pin drop at the Hong Kong conference designed to persuade the airline industry to cut back on its production of so-called greenhouse gases to fight “global warming.”

The “Greener Skies 2008″ conference had just heard from David Archibald, a solar scientist asserting that climate change is mostly dictated by solar cycles, not carbon dioxide levels, as conventional wisdom suggests.

Archibald didn’t just tell the group not to worry about carbon dioxide emissions. He told those gathered they should figure out ways of increasing CO2 output. “In a few short years, we will have a reversal of the warming of the 20th century,” Archibald warned, according to CargoNews Asia. “There will be significant cooling very soon. Our generation has known a warm, giving sun, but the new generation will suffer a sun that is less giving, and the earth will be less fruitful. Carbon dioxide is not even a little bit bad – it’s wholly beneficial.”

One observer at the February conference said there would have been fewer jaws dropping had Archibald stripped off his clothes before the assembled.

All you heard from the media was that a huge iceberg broke off and it was suggested to be further proof of rapid global warming but what they have not told you is that the Antarctic ice pack has been rapidly growing and was at record levels in 2007. What the 3000 ocean robots are telling us is that there has not been any global warming this decade. This confirms what other data also says. Contrary to what this article suggests air temperatures have not been going up this decade.

There is some known bias toward warming in the placement of NOAA weather measuring stations. For example, many are located in urban heat islands but space based measurements also indicate that there has been no global warming increases this decade. In fact there has been a slight cooling even though CO2 levels continue to rise. Proving that the CO2 green house effect climate models are wrong. We even have a good idea why they are wrong. They have been using mathematical equations based on wrong greenhouse effect physics.

Some scientists have been pointing out for years that the earth’s geological record shows no correlation to increased CO2 and future warming. It shows that global warming periods were followed by rises in CO2 and not preceded by it. In other words, when the earth warms due to more solar output more CO2 is released from the oceans. Historical CO2 increases were not followed by a warmer earth.

So man caused global warming is not taking a week off as this author suggests. Laws of physics do not just take time outs. Climate change on the earth is cyclical and related to the sun but now there are indications of less output from the sun and that is the reason why there has been no further warming. We may even be starting a cooling trend.

So Willis has been studying the ocean with a fleet of robotic instruments called the Argo system. The buoys can dive 3,000 feet down and measure ocean temperature. Since the system was fully deployed in 2003, it has recorded no warming of the global oceans.

I also would like you to look closely at the graph in the article. The earth has not warmed anymore at all for the past decade. Now it looks like the solar output of the sun has decreased. Who knows how cold it might get? This data was for last year but we are still having record cold in many places on earth right now. Also sun spot solar activity is almost nil and if solar activity does not increase it will fit theories that indicate that we are heading into a 160 year cooling cycle.

Will people at least tell the legislators to hold off on their CO2 legislation before they cost us many billions of dollars for no reason and stop electric power plants run on coal from being built.

The big future danger to the earth could be global cooling because that effects the growing seasons of crops and if the earth stays this cool it will require more energy to heat our homes.

All four major global temperature tracking outlets (Hadley, NASA’s GISS, UAH, RSS) have released updated data. All show that over the past year, global temperatures have dropped precipitously.A compiled list of all the sources can be seen here. The total amount of cooling ranges from 0.65C up to 0.75C — a value large enough to wipe out nearly all the warming recorded over the past 100 years. All in one year’s time. Scientists quoted in a past DailyTech article link the cooling to reduced solar activity which they claim is a much larger driver of climate change than man-made greenhouse gases. The dramatic cooling seen in just 12 months time seems to bear that out. While the data doesn’t itself disprove that carbon dioxide is acting to warm the planet, it does demonstrate clearly that more powerful factors are now cooling it.

Let’s hope those factors stop fast. Cold is more damaging than heat.

There is now evidence that the earth has shifted from a warming pattern to a pattern that might indicate that it will soon become much colder. But these facts will not stop the politicians from passing carbon legislations that will put new taxes on everything because they see this as a means to an end for global world control. I do not know if the Sun will go from this lull to a more active cycle or not. Obviously there is some concern by scientists that it may not. If that should happen we will be in for global cooling big time.If cooling should happen all the global warming loons would have to suddenly convert to becoming global cooling loons. They might even tax all products that do not increase CO2. Needless to say more C02 would not fix the global cooling problem the same as reducing it will not stop any global warming.
