Forced giving by government decree robs workers and enslaves the poor

No Gravatar

It is good to give money to help people but government social welfare programs rob working people and enslaves others to a life of dependency. Obama in his Global Poverty Act wants to transfer almost one percent of our GDP to third world governments through the U.N. Much of that money never gets to the people it just supports the Tyrants of the world and pays for their armies that keep the people enslaved. It also undermines Christian missionary efforts. Tell Congress not to support this act.

Obama’s foreign aid corrupts absolutely

Americans are increasingly enamored of the failed idea of forcing the working class to give to the poor, and not because of academe, the media or other secular institutions, but in large part because of their religious leaders, including “America’s pastor,” who actually urge Christians to support world socialism schemes like the Global Peace Plan.

These strange “Christians” despise their flocks, ignoring that Christians have been voluntarily giving of their own substance to the poor for 2,000 years, without relying on government for help to do so. And they ignore the biblical mandate to give in love, not extort gifts from helpless taxpayers.

Thus, they fly in the face of Paul’s words:

And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor… and have not charity (love), it profiteth me nothing. – I Corinthians 3:13

Beyond that, by politicizing charity and impoverishing Americans (to the tune of over $10,000 per person), the Global Poverty Act would make it more difficult for Christians to continue being the most generous people in the world. Instead, we would make them unwilling donors to the world’s most corrupt charity, the U.N.

What can you do?

Send a link to this column to as many people as you can.

Then call your senator and tell him/her that Obama’s global welfare plan will hurt black Africans just as national welfare hurt black Americans.

Betrayal of Christ by Christian Leaders Continues

No Gravatar

Paul Proctor — Betrayal of Christ by Christian Leaders Continues: “In a December 17th 2007 article titled, Rick Warren Counsels Jews on Recruiting Congregants, the Christian Post reported that the beloved senior pastor and founder of Saddleback Church in Lake Forest California, a Southern Baptist congregation, ‘attended a large Reform Jewish gathering last week to share tips on how to build a community.’
So, instead of sharing Christ with his Jewish audience, Pastor Warren shared ‘tips on how to build a community?’”

He obviously has too many purpose driven seekers on his hands and wants the Jews to entertain them for awhile. Why else would he want to help build Jewish congregations?

“Why is this double-minded man still pastoring a Southern Baptist church? What does he have to do to get fired? And why do SBC pastors continue to teach and promote his books, his programs, his sermons and his P.E.A.C.E. Plan when apparently being Purpose Driven doesn’t even require faith in Christ?
If anyone can be Purpose Driven, then who needs Jesus?”

I think you know why they they still promote Rick Warren. You stated it below.

In California you are going to find thousands of people who think like Rick Warren and thus, they attend his church. Also remember he tells those who do not agree with his program to find another church, many have. That is why he does not get fired, he has like minded people in his congregation. He is not unique in America, even much more doubled minded people have large followings. Americans just tend to worship media stars.

“Unfortunately, too many of today’s pastors, both inside and outside the Southern Baptist Convention have totally invested themselves and their churches into the Purpose Driven paradigm. To speak up now and rebuke Warren publicly would require they admit to their colleagues and congregations that they were wrong about the man and his teachings. And with so much pride at stake and so many careers and ministries in the balance, I dare say there aren’t many out there who would be willing to step forward to confess and repent.”

Mike Huckabee is purpose driven?

No Gravatar

Mike Huckabee for President - Blogs - Dr. Rick Warren Statement: “what I find most appealing is his self-deprecating humor. That’s a key sign of a spiritually and emotionally healthy leader - someone who is comfortable with himself, is authentic, doesn’t wear a mask, and is secure enough to be humble. People love that.””

I have been told that Mike Huckabee had a Purpose Driven Church. I have no reason to believe that this is not true. I do know that Huckabee endorses Kenneth Copeland and does not know what Mormons believe, which says wonders about Him.

The link above is an endorsement that Rick Warren made on Mike Huckabee.

Notice that Rick Warren thinks that a self-deprecating sense of human is the key sign of a spiritually and emotionally healthy leader. I am sure Jesus and Paul would have a different opinion. I guess Rodney Dangerfield was quite a spiritual leader in Rick Warren’s eyes.

Rick Warren’s distortions of reality

No Gravatar

WorldNetDaily: Rick Warren’s distortions of reality: “Rick Warren loves to apologize for things he didn’t do, for things other people did that weren’t wrong, even for things that occurred hundreds of years before he was born. “

I have noticed over the years that Rick Warren just panders to the audience. What he says to Christians on a issue will not necessarily be be what he says to the media or the world power brokers on the same issue. His message is typically post-modern where truth is relative and adjustable to those being pandered to for his own end.

This is why he is signing on to wordily agendas and then apologizing or having to rationalize to other Christians why he jumped on board. Then to appease them he says he did not agree with much of what he signed??? You can’t love the world and the things of the world and make it your dominion and also appeal to those who know the dominion for Christians is not of this world, or at least not of this evil age. I think Rick Warren too often is found on both sides of the fence.

Handling Disunity – Rick Warren’s Way

No Gravatar

Handling Disunity – Rick Warren’s Way - CWN: “Warren begins his November 17 email by stating that the Bible speaks more about unity then of Heaven and Hell. Though I haven’t taken the time to count up the references yet, I am confident that this isn’t so. Let me ask, what about references insisting that we ministers hold to sound doctrine Rick? Does unity outweigh that too? It would appear so at least in Warrenessee. Warren concludes by telling his estimated 400,000+ readers that disunity is Satan’s greatest weapon against the Church. What? While it might be construed as progress that Rick Warren even acknowledges the existence of Satan, to espouse the notion that disunity is the Devil’s chief weapon is not just poor theology. It is a lie. Sins, such as greed and lust, are Satan’s greatest weapon against the Church. However, if Rick Warren is able to make these statements unchallenged then slothfulness and biblical ignorance are obviously gaining ground.”

The Common Ground of Rick Warren & Mitt Romney

No Gravatar

The Common Ground of Rick Warren & Mitt Romney - CWN: “It is a fact that the ‘40 Days of Purpose’ and other church growth and leadership materials produced by Rick Warren are aggressively marketed to Mormons and others outside Christian orthodoxy. When asked why Mormon leaders are involved in his pastoral training programs Rick Warren told USA Today: ‘I’m not going to get into a debate over the non-essentials. I won’t try to change other denominations. Why be divisive?’ (http://www.usatoday.com/life/2003-07-21-rick-warren_x.htm) Say WHAT? Mormonism…a ‘denomination’ and “non-essentials” such as the identity of Jesus Christ, godhood for mankind or the route to eternal salvation??? Clearly, Warren doesn’t KNOW or doesn’t WANT to identify Mormonism as non-Christian. Either way, what USA Today didn’t report is that Rick Warren is helping train Mormon leaders to more effectively present a false religion to the world - a false religion that has led millions of lost souls to an eternal Hell.”

Read the last post and then tell me that Mormon’s are Christian.

Rick Warren and Dissent

Rick Warren and Dissent - CWN: “Rick, if you don’t want the reputation of offering condom-driven solutions, stop inviting these political left-wingers to your church. Even Salon Magazine has noted Saddleback’s “left-wing” turn. If you want to dance with the devil, don’t blame sincere Christians for reporting on it.”

Why Warren embraces Hillary and Obama

No Gravatar

WorldNetDaily: Why Warren embraces Hillary: “It’s more than an effort at bipartisanship and consensus-building that causes Saddleback Church Pastor Rick Warren to embrace Hillary Clinton in his efforts to battle AIDS. It is the fact that they share a mistaken and dangerous commitment to expensive, extra-constitutional, globe-trotting, international socialist spending policies by the U.S. government in waging that battle.”

“So why turn to the government? Why not turn to the affluent church in the U.S.?
Is the church really too small and too ineffective at taking on this challenge? Is that the way the Bible instructs us to think and act as believers? Don’t we serve a God bigger even than the federal government in Washington, D.C.?
Do you see my problem with this kind of thinking?
I don’t want to discourage people from trying to do good – especially believers. But it is important to follow the biblical prescription for good works. Nowhere in the Bible do I see believers called to force people to join their ministry. Nowhere in the Bible do I see believers called to lobby government to take on its burdens. Nowhere in the Bible do I see believers “partnering” with government because the church is “too poor” to accomplish its objectives.
This is worldly thinking.
The church’s job is to minister to people in need to demonstrate the glory of the One they serve. How can the church do that when they are yoked to government’s confiscating money by force from people.”

Well Rick Warren is not a member of the CFR for no reason. He is a globalist who thinks that government and world religion should be working hand in hand to solve all of man’s problems. It sounds good from a socialist human point of view but it really is a form of dominionism. It plays no role in bringing the world the gospel of salvation in Jesus Christ. On the contrary, these people operate under the false assumption that man without a spiritual transformation can solve mankind’s problems on the earth. That is deceptive and delusional thinking, it is not biblical teaching.

Chuck Baldwin — More Reasons To Beware Of Mike Huckabee

No Gravatar

Chuck Baldwin — More Reasons To Beware Of Mike Huckabee: “Let’s say it plainly: Mike Huckabee is just another big-government, establishment politician who will do nothing to stem the tide of socialism or fascism (pick your poison) emanating from Washington, D.C., these days. “

What is it about the South that produces these people? Mike said himself that he did some of the things he did because politics is rough in Arkansas. Why would a minister of the Gospel trade that job in for the affairs of the world and then stoop to their level? It seems to me that Mike Huckabee is in the same mold as Rick Warren, Bill Hybels and Kenneth Copeland. They preach the Kingdom should be established right here right now. The way they intend to bring in this soft dominionism is through social action and legislation and they have no problem uniting with secular humanists and anti Christ religions to establish this end. Where is the great commission in any of this?

Shaping A New Civilization, Part 1

No Gravatar

Berit Kjos — Shaping A New Civilization, Part 1: “Everything must be changed — especially the way we think of ourselves in relationship to the ‘greater whole.’ When applied to religion, the ‘new ways of thinking’ means setting aside ‘narrow’ or inflexible beliefs for the sake of unity, universalism and ‘common good.‘ Christianity must either bend or break. Or, as Leonard Sweet wrote in Soul Tsunami (endorsed by Rick Warren): ‘Postmodern culture is a change-or-be-changed world. The word is out: Reinvent yourself for the 21st century or die.’[11] “

What common ground between Islam and Christianity?

No Gravatar

Yale Center for Faith and Culture - About Us “Let this common ground” – the dual common ground of love of God and of neighbor – “be the basis of all future interfaith dialogue between us,” your courageous letter urges. Indeed, in the generosity with which the letter is written you embody what you call for. We most heartily agree. Abandoning all “hatred and strife,” we must engage in interfaith dialogue as those who seek each other’s good, for the one God unceasingly seeks our good. Indeed, together with you we believe that we need to move beyond “a polite ecumenical dialogue between selected religious leaders” and work diligently together to reshape relations between our communities and our nations so that they genuinely reflect our common love for God and for one another. Given the deep fissures in the relations between Christians and Muslims today, the task before us is daunting. And the stakes are great. The future of the world depends on our ability as Christians and Muslims to live together in peace. If we fail to make every effort to make peace and come together in harmony you correctly remind us that “our eternal souls” are at stake as well. We are persuaded that our next step should be for our leaders at every level to meet together and begin the earnest work of determining how God would have us fulfill the requirement that we love God and one another. It is with humility and hope that we receive your generous letter, and we commit ourselves to labor together in heart, soul, mind and strength for the objectives you so appropriately propose.

Take a look at the signatories on this letter. Among them are Rick Warren, Bill Hybels and Robert Schuller. God did not call Christians to establish common ground with unbelievers. He told us to preach the good new of salvation through Jesus Christ.

Does it not matter to these “Christian” leaders that Islam rejects Jesus Christ as the Savior of mankind and the Son of God? I also find it unbelievable that Christians would call Mohammad a prophet. This demonic man got nothing from God, but instead he established a religion that would be in direct opposition to God’s people.

I also have news for all of you. The future of the world does not depend on Muslims and Christians living in peace together. The future of the world depends on everyone submitting to the Lord Jesus.

There is no common love of God between Muslims and Christians. Muslims cannot know the Father because they deny His Son. They also have no love for Christians. So believing a lie does not make it true.

Your eternal souls don’t depend on Muslims and Christians coming together in peace and harmony. Your eternal soul depends upon your belief in Jesus Christ.

There are many more things that can be said about this “Christian” response to the Muslims but just from the points I made on the above posted paragraph it should be obvious that no Christian with any understanding of the Christian faith could sign such a letter. This tells me that some of the biggest Evangelical leaders in Christianity do not believe the teachings in the Bible. Anyone following the leaders on this list should ask themselves why they are submitting themselves to a person who believes in anti-Christ Universalism.

All the leaders who signed this list deserve the Demented Delusional or Dumb Club of the week award because they could not sign this if they were not demented delusional or dumb. Well there is one other possibility. They are truly anti-Christ.

Global Warming and the Definition of Sin

Global Warming and the Definition of Sin - CWNIn early 2006 PBS contacted Jan Markell and asked to send a camera crew to film her radio show if she would do one on global warming. They were looking for her response to the global warming statement signed by evangelicals such as Rick Warren, Brian McLaren, and Leif Anderson. Jan asked me to join her because of my background in science.

Nice article that explains Al Gore’s neo pagan theology that has man sinning against the creation by just living.

David Jeremiah Proposes "Major Paradigm Shift" for His Church

No Gravatar

David Jeremiah Proposes “Major Paradigm Shift” for His Church: “David Jeremiah’s 2003 book, Life Wide Open, has a subtitle of ‘Unleashing the Power of a Passionate Life.’ In the introduction of the book, Jeremiah tells readers that ‘A Small handful among us have discovered what the rest of us would pay dearly to know: How can we bring real, living excitement into this life?’ Jeremiah goes on to tell readers that ‘This book is a map to the life of passion and purpose, the life wide open…’ Who are these small handful of people who have discovered the secret? Well according to Jeremiah’s book, his list includes Rick Warren, contemplative, feminine spiritualist Sue Monk Kidd ( When the Heart Waits), contemplative Calvin Miller (Into the Depths of God), Buddhist sympathizer Peter Senge (The Fifth Discipline), emerging church leader Erwin McManus, contemplative Michael Card, and Brother Lawrence (Practicing the Presence of God). “

I think we are seeing the domino effect of the apostasy of the seeker, prosperity and emergent churches. This is a paradigm shift all right. In one generation much of “Christianity” has gone from biblical doctrine into pagan mysticism.

Shamanism in the Church

No Gravatar

Shamanism in the Church The Berean Call: A number of prominent ministries use the eagle as a corporate symbol, and most of these do so quite innocently. But research into the testimony of a young prophetess associated with C. Peter Wagner’s self-titled New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) raises great concern. (The NAR, a blended resurrection of several modern heresies-kingom-dominionism, manifest sons of God, new breed, et al.-is spreading like wildfire through a growing number of charismatic and evangelical churches.) Here is just one example of cause for alarm:

“why do the neo-prophets and apostles of today use the eagle as a symbol of choice? Many ‘prophetic’ ministries associate eagles with tremendous natural vision and observable qualities of ‘rising above;’ but like shamans and seers-ancient and modern-they err in assigning to eagles spiritual qualities. An occult website declares the eagle’s role is that of an ‘illuminating force’ that rises on the east wind, whose gift is that of ’seeing hidden spiritual truths’ and ‘whose strength is by its connection to spirit guides.’ The website advises: ‘One who flies with the Eagle has a responsibility…to operate from Higher Intent, to develop the latent abilities of Illumination, and then freely share this Illumination with Others.’ In other words, a seer who channels the eagle is to ‘impart’ this knowledge and ‘gifting’ to others.”

“apostolic-prophetic” leaders who often teach with or promote Bob Jones also use the symbol of an eagle in their ministry logo: Paul Keith Davis, Rick Joyner, Bobby Conner, Cindy Jacobs, and others. Does this mean they also have the spirit of Swift to help them “carry out the purposes of God?” Not necessarily-but the connection between “eagle spirits,” shamans, and today’s neo-prophetic seers is unmistakable. This is the New Spirituality.”

Is anyone connecting the dots between this and my previous posts? They are all just different paths to the same end. Rick Warren’s “Peace Plan”, the Emergent Church, Willow Creek’s “Shift”, charismatic Kingdom/Now theology, Schuller’s rethinking conference, Oprah’s Secret etc.. is about dominionism and bringing pagan theology into the church in the name of unity and world peace.

The Latest "P" of Rick Warren’s Peace Plan is Promote Reconciliation

No Gravatar

The Latest “P” - Reconciliation: “Put this quotation on a global scale and apply it to tribes and warring factions, people groups and nations, and you can see how grandiose this thinking becomes. It is tantamount to a revolutionary new gospel. In fact, Brian McLaren includes a quotation in his 2006 book The Secret Message of Jesus (W Publishing Group) which seems to tie all of this together:

‘The radical revolutionary empire of God is here, advancing by reconciliation and peace, expanding by faith, hope, and love–beginning with the poorest, the weakest, the meekest, and the least. It’s time to change your thinking. Everything is about to change. It’s time for a new way of life. Believe me. Follow me. Believe this good news to you so you can learn to live by it and be part of the revolution.’ (pp. 32-33) [emphasis added]“

So now is there any doubt why Rick Warren has changed planting churches to “promote reconciliation” in the P of his PEACE plan acronym? Rick Warren obviously has bought into Dominion Theology and Brian McLaren’s heresy. Willow Creek’s seeker churches have as well. If nobody sees the setting up of the world harlot who rides the Beast of Revelation taking place here they have little understanding of Bible prophecy. Not to mention the scriptures that warn us that this end time apostasy would come from among those who call themselves “Christians”.

Warren challenges Baptists to promote peace worldwide, starting in Texas

No Gravatar

Warren challenges Baptists to promote peace worldwide, starting in Texas: “Pastor Rick Warren, presenting a keynote address at the annual meeting of the Baptist General Convention of Texas has encouraged Christians once again to ‘establish the kingdom of God’ here on planet earth. Warren is well known for a three-legged stool plan designed to implement his global PEACE plan. Warren learned about such a plan from his mentor Peter Drucker, a well known consultant who promoted church growth methods focused on a market-driven Christianity. Warren’s three-legged stool plan has three legs - business, government and the church. “

There should be no doubt now that Rick Warren is a dominionist as well as an emergent “SHAPE” shifter. He has now changed the first meaning of the original meanings of his acronym P.E.A.C.E. of his global Peace Plan.

Planting churches is now replaced with promoting reconciliation. With who? Rome? Heretics? Muslims? Pagans?

Mitt Romney’s Purpose-Driven Pandering

No Gravatar

Mitt Romney’s Purpose-Driven Pandering - Adam Graham - Oct 17, 07: “He talked about no matter what region of the country he was in, the values were all the same across America. He began to list these American values: “We believe in hard work; we believe in education; we believe in the sanctity of life; we believe in marriage; we believe in God.” At this point, the speech took a bizarre turn. “Even those of us who don’t believe in God believe in something greater than ourselves, as Rick Warren calls it, ‘Purpose Driven Life.’” “

I can see why Mitt Romney believes what he believes about Rick Warren’s Purpose Driven Life. Rick Warren seems confused on the issue himself. He says it is written to Christians to Christians and for the secular crowd he peddles it as a success book for everyone. I have read the book and it does indicate that everyone needs to find their purpose in Life, even non believers. Actually the writer of this article seems a little confused about what is in the book.

Barack Obama believes we can create a Kingdom right here on Earth.

No Gravatar

CNN.com - CNN Political Ticker Obama: GOP doesn’t own faith and values «: After speaking to an evangelical church on Sunday in this traditionally conservative South Carolina city, Sen. Barack Obama said that Republicans no longer have a firm grip on religion in political discourse.
“I think its important particularly for those of us in the Democratic Party to not cede values and faith to any one party,” Obama told reporters outside the Redemption World Outreach Center where he attended services.

” I just want all of you to pray that I can be an instrument of God in the same way that Pastor Ron and all of you are instruments of God.’ He finished his brief remarks by saying, ‘We’re going to keep on praising together. I am confident that we can create a Kingdom right here on Earth.’

The above link was taken down hours after it was posted by Matt Drudge but what Obama said can also be viewed at
http://stoptheaclu.com/archives/2007/10/07/obamamessiah-create-a-kingdom-on-earth/

Barack Obama claims that Republicans no longer have a firm grip on religion in political discourse, that is true. Most Evangelicals would say they are Christian and not religious. Religious people tend to try to get to heaven based on there own good works which is quite impossible. Christians on the other hand, get to heaven based on what God already did in His Son.

It is very telling that Barack Obama would attend a heretical “Word Church” with a name it and claim it prosperity gospel. Two people he phrases in his speech have serious problems of their own. Bishop Jakes is a heretical oneness pentecostal that denies the Trinity or at least he will not affirm it. Rick Warren is so interwoven with world psychology and power brokers that it get rather hard to sort out what gospel he is now preaching. The gospel he preaches in his church and the purpose driven seeker friendly movement that he started, is really a watered down gospel that preaches a gospel of self fulfillment for want-to-be successful baby bloomers.

Obama said that he is confident that we can create a Kingdom right here on Earth. That view is heretical dominion theology. The Bible does not teach that the Church is going to bring a Kingdom on earth before the return of the King. Follow my links for more information on these subjects.

One thing Word People, Warren and Obama all seem to have in common is the idea that religion is going to bring a paradise to this earth. This view all ties in with the Harlot of Revelation that rides the Beast Kingdom of the Antichrist into power.

The only faith these people have in God is what God is allowed to do through the works of mankind. Thus, they make God dependent on the sinful choices of sinful men. The reason they do this is that although they claim a relationship with God they deny His power. Obama does not understand or believe the scriptures or he would not be taking positions of being pro choice, pro homosexual, pro socialist and anti fundamental Christians.

All this says wonders about the apostasy and the lack of discernment of the mega church pastors like Warren and Carpenter when they allow someone with Obama’s anti Christian values to speak from their pulpit to deceive their sheep. The motivation they have for doing so is certainly not coming from God.

The great divide between true Christians and pseudo Christians is that true Christians trust in God while pseudo Christians trust in the works of man. One is a belief of faith the others is a religion of works. Obama clearly thinks he knows better than God or does not believe the Bible is the word of God. In either case he in not to be instructing the Church. Obama is clearly a globalist secular humanist who puts on the airs of Christianity for his own convenience.

Obama and all those pastors and church boards who let him preach in their church have earned the Demented Delusional or Dumb Club of the week award. Congratulations, one and all!

Berit Kjos — Shaping the Global ‘Christian’ Youth

Berit Kjos — Shaping the Global ‘Christian’ Youth: “Like our secular guides, today’s postmodern, purpose-driven church guides keep sounding the call for continual change. And their restless audience — dulled by decades of ‘progressive education’ and corrupt entertainment — are fast falling in line behind the most popular pied pipers. There’s little to hold them back from the tempting snares that tug at their hearts these days. The greatest obstacle to deception has always been God’s unchanging Word. But that wall of resistance is crumbling fast. “

Rick Warren assures his followers that “fundamentalism, of all varieties, will be ‘one of the big enemies of the 21st century.’”[12] He may be right! His worldwide influence will surely speed the rising hostility toward the fundamental Truths of God — a major obstacle to global solidarity.[13]

Like usual Berit Kjos gives too many good points in her well documented articles to do justification in a clip or two. I hope you will read the article. Berit has a very good handle on what is happening in the world and the church of today. It is not a pretty picture.

Should Christianity, politics mix? Sure, but not the way dominionists think

No Gravatar

WorldNetDaily: Should Christianity, politics mix?: “He’s not the only pastor with serious reservations about Christians in politics. Rev. Mel White, the former ghostwriter of the late Jerry Falwell’s autobiography and now an ex-Evangelical, is also deeply troubled by Christians in the public square.

Seaking to RollingStone Magazine, White said: When most people hear… talk about a ‘Christian nation’ they think, ‘Well, that sounds like a good, moral thing.’ What they don’t know… is that ‘Christian nation’ means something else entirely to these dominionist leaders.

White doesn’t reveal what the nature of the dominionist conspiracy is, so I had to do a little investigation of my own. ” (read the article)

This article is not at all honest about Dominion Theology. Any deceptive person can pick just the good apples and place it on top of a basket of rotten apples and sell the whole basket to someone as if it were all good. It was not too long ago that the Catholic Church did exactly that. They had Christian Dominion theology in practice. Remember the Inquisitions that followed?

Who is going to define what the values and practices of Christianity are in your modern new Christian world? The Pope, Baptists, UCC, Mormons, Masons, Rick Warren’s Global Peace Plan, the Christian Patriot Movement, Robert Schuller, Oprah’s Secret, Jimmy Carter, Benny Hinn, George Bush, Rodney Howard Brown, Ron Paul, John and Paul White, Ted Haggard, the KKK? Just who did you have in mind?

True Christianity has always been a small segment of even those who identify themselves as Christians. So it this tiny minority in the world now going to make a overwhelmingly evil world conform to biblical law through politics? Get real!

If anyone wants to know more about Dominion Theology they can read my rather long article on the subject.
http://www.thepropheticyears.com/comments/The%20woman%20on%20the%20beast%20in%20end%20time%20prophecy%20has%20dominion%20theology.htm

I for one get tired of reading articles from “American patriots” that wrap their Dominion Theology beliefs in Biblical clothing and then bad mouth those who are carrying out the great commission, God’s way.

They equate a past and future America with the promised land as if somehow we are going to be there by just returning to the US Constitution through politics, force or both. America never was the promised land and it never will be.

Sure Christians should take part in the political process in their nations and most do. We do so because we know it is to our benefit to have noble leaders who will not hinder us in our commission. However, we are not under some delusional that we are going to make any nation a Christian nation through politics. There is only one way anyone will become a Christian and that is by hearing the Word of God and believing it. Our commission from God is to preach the “good news” not to continually flame those we might disagree with. These people run the Bible up the flag pole along with the American flag and play their own anthem “God Bless - American Pie”.

The Second Commandment Republicans better have the first.

No Gravatar

The Second Commandment Republicans - TIME: “For Huckabee and Brownback, a moment of biblical temptation looms. Both will be spending most of their time in Iowa, where Republicans have a strong religious bent. Both Robertson and Buchanan have done well there. The temptation will be to slouch back to hellfire and brimstone to unite conservative Christians. It will be an exquisite test of faith for a Second Commandment Christian like Huckabee: Thou Shalt or Thou Shalt Not? Can you win the Iowa caucus without losing your soul? “

The author simply does not understand Christianity. The leaders he mentioned and implied taught the prospect of hell over the prospect of heaven actually did not.

Christian doctrine teaches both and in any balanced ministry both should be taught. One is taught to lead people to Christ and the other tells those who reject Christ’s love their end fate. Both messages lead people to Christ. Iowa Christians are aware of Christian doctrine. If Huckabee and Brownback proclaim Christian doctrine they will have nothing to fear from these conservative Christians. They do not have to preach some hellfire and brimstone message to unite conservative Christians. They just have to be right on the moral issues.

The so called hellfire and brimstone preachers you named have always taught this balance. However, when it comes to social issues such as abortion and homosexuality someone has to alert the public of the grave danger to our society and to the souls involved in immorality and that is what these ministries were called to focus on.

If Huckabee and Rick Warren do not talk about the spiritual problems in America and truly only offer social solutions then their solutions are no better then any government social liberal program.

God did not call the Church to fix all the problems in the world. He called it to preach the Good News that there is Salvation for mankind in Jesus Christ. We are to be an example to the world and to do good works out of love so that the world can see Christian love in practice and want to be part of Christ. However, If Rick Warren and Mike Huckabee have replaced the great commission with a social commission shame on them. I am not saying that this is the case but the author seems to imply it is the case in his article.

The second of Jesus’ two commandments is to love your neighbor as you love yourself, but the first commandment is to Love God with your whole heart, soul and mind. You cannot carry out the second commandment until you know God and love Him. Thus the first great commission of Christians is to teach Jesus, so man can know and love God. Social works are great but without loving God man does not have the relationship with God to lovingly fulfill the second of Jesus’ commandments.
