Pelosi’s method of bail out a sinking ship is by Bush wacking.

No Gravatar

The unexpected happened today the 700 billion dollar bailout plan failed in the House. The main reason it failed is Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s big mouth. She knew they had a close vote in the House but she just could not resist the temptation to use the biggest financial crises in modern times to rail in front of the whole House against the Bush administration and the Republicans just before the all important vote. Thus she lost the vote from some republicans. Leaders should know when to speak and when to keep their mouths shut but not Nancy “I am trying to save the world” Pelosi. She is not even in control of herself.

So a bill that would have brought us on a path to state socialism failed today but you can be certain they will try to bring it back by the end of the week. Now we will probably see a huge sell off in the markets and that will be all that it takes to get the votes. Nevertheless, in the next few days firms are going to fail and many are likely to lose entire fortunes.

A rescue of some sort is probably necessary or the whole world will go into a great depression very quickly but I will tell you why I think any short delay is good.

Everything has been way overvalued for quite some time now. The Stock Market is still almost double where it should be. People say we lost over a trillion dollars in the stock market today and while that is true on paper the wealth really was never there to start with. Overvalued paper is not wealth. So yeah, the government could have propped up the overvalued paper for awhile but that is only a short term fix. The only real fix is to let the overvalued paper go to the value it is really worth. Sure, that will take away over half of peoples retirement savings etc. but I am telling you much of your wealth was an illusion to start with, you never really had it. You cannot get double digit returns for decades when the economy is going nowhere and not expect a crash to come eventually.

A nation cannot keep spending much more than they have anymore than you can. Lets face it Ron Paul was right on our economic situation. The wealth they claimed was there was never there. It was a con game and a pyramid scheme that they they used to gamble with. So the more things drop to the real value of all that paper we are holding before the government steps in the sooner we can return to anything close to fiscal sanity. A prop up by the government at artificially high levels will only work until the next financial shock. This crises will not be over even with a massive bailout.

It is not all about the United States either. Global markets are also in panic and not just because of what is happening in the United States. Britain is entering a housing crises similar to ours and Spain’s housing and debt situation is even worse. Inflation is high in most countries of the world and a world recession is almost a certainty. That will bring rapidly falling oil prices and the oil rich nations that were buying debt will get very tight very quickly. That means interest rates will soar to service our debt before long and that is another crises coming for us. Russia’s economy is based almost entirely on energy exports and Europe is dependent on Russia’s energy so what blackmail will they try to pull on Europe this winter?

In any case, welcomed to the worst economic collapse of our time and it really does not matter much in the long term what our government does to try to shore up the dike. It can be a slow collapse or a fast collapse but things here are going to collapse much like in the old Soviet Union. And that’s probably the good news. Stay tuned for the bad news.

I just read two articles today Sept 30th by Jimmy De Young and Garry Kah that make a lot of sense and add to what I said here yesterday. De Young points out that many bankers are Jewish and this could bring Jewish persecution. I basically said the same thing on a comment on another blog because guess who economic losers always blame in the final analysis?

Garry Kah’s article makes several good points about our banking crises and where it might lead and I agree with most of his points. He also said the world finnancal crises is likely to help bring persecution to the Jews they have a history of becoming the scapegoats. You can read Kah’s excellent insights here wall street in crises.

Here is also another link that fully explains why the confused free marketer’s are really bringing about its own distruction by embracing the ideas of Marxism.

Who really selects the candidates for President?

No Gravatar

I guess you can look at this a couple of ways. One way is that the party puts forth any candidate they want by any rules they dictate even if it means changing the rules in the middle of the game. So watch out who you allow to run the party. Why nut case Howard Dean is allowed to run the Democratic party is beyond me.

The other way of looking at it is that the primaries are really a national election and that each vote should count. In that case it did not happen in two heavily populated states with the democrats.

It is also true that the Media was working to promote one candidate over the others making the outcome much more favorable to their liking. If the deck is going to be stacked by the hard Left socialists in power positions we might as well be in Russia. Democracy in that case is nothing but a facade to make people think that they have control when all control really comes from the power elite’s ability to misinform the people and give out selective information to manipulate.

Now you know why all surviving candidates of the major parties for President are socialists in a middle right nation. And you know why the Media is lining up behind the most Far Left socialist of them all. So much for Democracy in America!

Dems take cue from the Soviets

How many times on Saturday did we hear the phrase that should make every free citizen shiver, “The true Will of the People.” “We know what the voters of Michigan or Florida intended to do, because we have the exit polls, or we have the MSNBC poll, or we have the anecdotal evidence.” Instead of simply counting votes, which is the only fair thing to do with votes in any election anywhere, the members of the Democratic Party Rules Committee deem it in their purview to decipher votes, interpret votes, translate votes – anything but count them! Then, to add fantasy to falsehood, they insisted on conjuring votes that were never even cast. After all, so goes their illogic, if voters didn’t show up who otherwise would have, its up to the committee members to discern how they would have voted if they did.

The fact that this committee of self-appointed commissars met at all with the intention to nullify or change election results is appalling enough. The additional fact that the media were silent in the face of this monstrosity is cause for grave concern.

Studying the tapes of Russert, “Meet the Press,” MSNBC, Chris Matthews, CNN and the political consultants at CNN, one will discover the frequent instances where these most interested partisans announced the primaries over, anointed Obama and called on Clinton to quit or repeatedly echoed the calls of those who did.

Then there are the proceedings of Saturday’s committee, replete with phrases, quotes and assertions that are nearly word for word identical to proceedings of the Soviet Central Committee, texts from meetings of the Comintern and speeches from Fidel Castro or the Sandinistas. Long live the dictatorship of the Proletariat!

If anyone has shown their true colors in this election season, it’s the left-wing radicals who control the Democratic Party and their partisan allies in the press.

The only bigger fool then Brzezinski is any President that would listened to him. Will Obama be next?

No Gravatar
I certainly would not discount what is being said here. Obama will decimate the U.S. economy even if Zbigniew Brzezinski is not behind Obama. Of course, if America figures this out he will be the first American President removed from office if he is elected.

Obama The Dummy - Brzezinski The Ventriloquist

WASHINGTON, DC — In my book Obama The Postmodern Coup: The Making of a Manchurian Candidate, I argue that presidential candidate Barack Obama is a wholly owned puppet of Zbigniew Brzezinski and his associates of the Trilateral Commission, founded by David Rockefeller. As some have noted, Brzezinski has been attempting to conceal his actual domination of the Obama campaign, for which he is the chief guru and controller. Now a rhetorical outburst by Obama on the campaign trail in Oregon has once again pointed to the reality that Obama is a ventriloquist’s dummy, with the Russia-hating fanatic Brzezinski, a barbarous relic of the Cold War, acting as the ventriloquist.
At a recent campaign stop in Oregon, Obama stated:
“We can’t drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK,” Obama said. “That’s not leadership. That’s not going to happen,” he added. If India and China’s “carbon footprint gets as big as ours, we’re gone.” (AFP)
This remarkable statement reveals the true program of a future Obama administration: savage austerity, brutal economic sacrifice, and a massive further reduction in the standard of living of the depleted and exhausted US population as demanded by David Rockefeller, George Soros, and Obama’s Wall Street backers. This will be done under left cover through a global warming tax, a third world solidarity tax, and other demagogic frauds

Jimmy Carter always takes the side of evil

No Gravatar

At what point in his life did Jimmy Carter sell out to the Devil? Every wonder why Billy Carter drank himself to death. He knew his brother.

Jimmy Carter: Emissary of evil

Jimmy Carter is all about Jimmy Carter. During his presidency, he gave up the Panama Canal and allowed the Ayatollahs to take power in Iran – all for the praise of the international community. In 1980, he asked the Soviet Union to release Jewish emigrants, hoping that such action would soften American feeling against the USSR and thereby swing the presidential election to him. In 1984, he told the Russians that if Reagan were re-elected, there would not “be a single agreement on arms control, especially on nuclear arms, as long as Reagan remained in power.” In 2002, Carter accepted the Nobel Peace Prize, despite a clear indication by Nobel Committee members that the prize was meant as a rebuke to President Bush.

Does all this make Carter evil, or just a useful idiot? By all accounts, Carter is highly intelligent – perhaps the most intelligent president of the last 50 years. It would be foolish to write him off as simply naive. He is quite willing to be used by dictators from Venezuela to Cuba to North Korea, so long as helping them polishes his legacy. For almost three decades, Carter has pandered to enemies of Western Civilization, shielding his treasonous behavior with the title of “ex-president.” His Hamas-hugging is just the latest entry in a political diary that would make Osama bin Laden proud.

Cage the global warming blackbirds and the pigeons will fly away.

No Gravatar

They have no scientific facts to support the Left driven Co2 warming hysteria. They will not accept scientific facts when it is presented to them. So perhaps the next step is to exposed the real reasons for this fraud on the world. When the truth is exposed these blackbirds will be put in cages. Then all the pigeons following them will fly away looking for new refuse piles to scavenge.

American Thinker: The slick trick behind global frauding

In Stalin’s Russia any dissenter from the Party Line was guilty. Innocence had to be proved. It’s a standard tyrant’s trick. During the reign of Oliver Cromwell in England, witchhunters did not have to prove that their victims were guilty. The accused witches had to prove their innocence.

That’s what Al Gore has done to science: He and his friends have flipped innocence and guilt from normal science to Stalinist science.

In Al Gore’s America, any “global warming denier” is guilty until proven innocent. He or she must have been bought off by Big Oil. Skeptics, no matter how well-qualified, must prove the negative about really silly alarmist hogwash. And whenever some prediction is falsified, the warm mongers have an explanation: it’s just a temporary glitch in the data. Oh, yes, we were wrong about 1998, but just wait till 2050! The excuses are endless.

There are no facts robust enough, consistent enough, and verified enough to support the mass hysteria. The climate system is hypercomplex, nonlinear and poorly understood. The media spinners are immensely ignorant about real science, and just care about the next scare headline. There’s a lot of wild speculation and a mob of self-serving politicians, bureaucrats and media types who stand to gain a ton of power and money by suckering millions of taxpayers. Al Gore just started a 300 million dollar PR campaign to convince everybody. When was the last time you saw 300 million bucks being spent to promote a scientific hypothesis that was already proven? We’re not spending millions to prove the existence of gravity. The uproar and money involved in this fraud is in direct proportion to the lack of solid facts.

The last ten years have seen global cooling, not warming.

Satanic global brainwashing on many fronts

No Gravatar

From the article you get the picture that these people were shown that there was no global warming since 1998. Yet it did not even phase them because this whole scam is not about global warming anyway.

The other day I got a computer magazine all talking about global warming and what we all need to do about it. So why would a computer magazine jump on the global warming bandwagon? I can’t really see it selling more issues, it might even make a few people like me angry enough to cancel their subscription. The only answer is that the editors of the magazine like so many others have been been successfully brainwashed.

No matter how much science is published discrediting man caused global warming we cannot reach the masses with the truth. That is because certain high level people in government, education and media are actively continuing the brainwashing. They simply have too much money and power to lose to ever admit that there is no true scientific facts backing their claims. It is just like trying to preach salvation in Jesus to those blinded by the world. They simply choose not to see and be saved.

The only way this socialist tax transfer scheme is going to be stopped is if God puts us into a ice age. People now only believe what they are told by their media masters and gurus. They have been so dumbed down in their schools that they cannot think for themselves. They just sit in front of the liberal media propaganda program for their daily feeding.

Think I am wrong? How else would you explain the current socialist nominations for president? The formation of the godless EUSR? The rise of the new fascist Russia? The rise of godless communist China? How do explain the voters in our own country thinking a Marxist with a social gospel contrary to the Bible will solve our foreign and domestic problems? How do you explain how any of this will solve the certain Western economic collapse caused by everyone spending beyond their means for decades? The world has obviously entered into a time of global brainwashing on many fronts. The whole world is being set up for a fascist socialist hybrid.

I have to tell you, the way this country is going it simply has no future. It will not exist as the United States by next decade. We do not have to wait for the fall of the United States, it is is already happening so fast that in a few years most of the country will be dwelling in a depressed socialist police state that might as well then be named the USS of A.

I simply do not see the majority of American people doing anything to stop this slide into Marxism and its brainwashing. Prove me wrong! Please!

FOXNews.com - Junk Science: The Global Warming Bubble - Opinion

Sacrificing many trillions of dollars of GDP for a trivial, 45-year-delayed and merely hypothetical reduction in average global temperature must be considered as exponentially more asinine than the dot-bombs of the late-1990s and the NINJA subprime loans that we now look upon scornfully. So who in their right mind would push for this?

I met many of them up-close-and-personal last week at a major Wall Street Journal conference at which I was an invited speaker. My fellow speakers included many CEOs (from General Electric, Wal-Mart, Duke Energy and Dow Chemical, to name just a few), California’s Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and the heads of several environmental activist groups.

The audience — a sold-out crowd of hundreds who had to apply to be admitted and pay a $3,500 fee — consisted of representatives of the myriad businesses that seek to make a financial killing from climate alarmism.

There were representatives of the solar, wind and biofuel industries that profit from taxpayer mandates and subsidies, representatives from financial services companies that want to trade permits to emit CO2, and public relations and strategic consultants to all of the above.

We libertarians would call such an event a rent-seekers ball — the vast majority of the audience was there to plot how they could lock in profits from government mandates on taxpayers and consumers. It was an amazing collection of pseudo-entrepreneurs who were absolutely impervious to the scientific and economic facts that ought to deflate the global warming bubble.

Dumb actions in Kosovo bring bad consequences

No Gravatar

Dumb actions have bad consequences. The blunder of dividing a nation is going to be a major problem for NATO forces and a show of power from Serbia and Russia might be the next move.

Serbian settlers plan partition of Kosovo - Telegraph

Kosovo, the world’s newest state, is facing a partition of its territory only a week after it unilaterally declared independence from Serbia.Serbian settlers demonstrate against Kosovan independence
Serbs in the ethnically divided city of Mitrovica demonstrate against Kosovo’s independence

The mostly Serb-populated northern region around the divided town of Mitrovica, next to the Serbian border, has begun preparing a de facto secession from the newborn country that Serb officials consider “illegal”.

On Friday, the bridge on the Ibar River that divides the Albanian and the Serb parts of Mitrovica was closed to traffic, guarded by UN police and Nato on one side, and Serb strongmen on the other.

Kosovo really should be none of our business.

No Gravatar

This article tells you things about Kosovo and the consequences that you will not hear on the major media. It also gives a good analogy were this forced action to happen here rather then in the Balkans.

FrontPage Magazine

Thomas Landen asks in the Brussels Journal. He notes that Moscow has called on the UN to annul independence, and a UN vote may be the only thing to save us from a new world war over this Balkan province, ignored by the media and public for eight years as insignificant, despite the Balkans’ history for setting off world wars.“Indeed,” continues Landen, “what will Russia do if the 16,000 NATO ‘peacekeeping’ troops in Kosovo attack the Serbian army when it attempts to recover its breakaway province? If Russia intervenes, then 2008 might become the year that war broke out between Russia and NATO. America, the EU, Europe’s immigrant ‘youths,’ and Osama bin Laden would find themselves on one side, fighting Russia, China, and those Europeans who resist Islamization on the other.”

Who could have envisioned such a sorry state of affairs on September 12, 2001? The answer is: anyone who noticed that our Balkan policies didn’t change following 9/11.

We are now several years post-9/11, yet our government is creating Muslim states in Europe and is about to engage the United States military against European Orthodox Christians who don’t want to live under Muslim rule.
When did it become the free world’s business to spread Shari’a law, as is always the upshot of any Islamicizing region?

Kosovo: world tribalization and micro-states

No Gravatar

If the whole world follows the example of what just happened in Kosovo we will end up with a world with 10,000 micro-states all having the freedom to carry out their hate feuds against each other. Kosovo could start a Hatfield and McCoy like tribalization of the world.

The Foreign policy of the Bush administration is so incredibly stupid that one might believe that they are just following some diabolical script leading the world to World War III.

With a stoke of his pen, President Bush, by heeding the State
Department’s bad advice to recognize a supposedly independent Kosovo,
has triggered the perfect international storm: shattering the principle
of the territorial integrity of sovereign nations, encouraging violent
separatists worldwide, provoking a needless confrontation with Russia
and other countries, boosting the jihad terrorist and organized crime
threat to Europe and America, and creating conditions for a human
rights and religious freedom nightmare. In terms of far-reaching
consequences, it may the worst blunder of his presidency. Which is
saying a lot.

The coming Balkan wars

No Gravatar

You wonder why we are always at war? Our foreign policy decisions are make by wishful thinking loons. Now we have helped create the next world powder keg. All involved in setting the stage for the coming Balkan wars and the next cold war with Russia richly deserve my Demented Delusional or Dumb Club of the week award. Congratulations!

On Sunday, Kosovo declared independence and was recognized by the
European Union and President Bush. But this is not the end of the
story. It is only the preface to a new history of the Balkans, a region
that has known too much history.

By intervening in a civil war to aid the secession of an ancient
province, to create a new nation that has never before existed and, to
erect it along ethnic, religious and tribal lines, we have established
a dangerous precedent. Muslim and Albanian extremists are already
talking of a Greater Albania, consisting of Albania, Kosovo and the
Albanian-Muslim sectors of Serbia, Montenegro and Macedonia.

If these Albanian minorities should demand the right to secede and
join their kinsmen in Kosovo, on what grounds would we oppose them? The
inviolability of borders? What if the Serb majority in the Mitrovica
region of northern Kosovo, who reject Albanian rule, secede and call on
their kinsmen in Serbia to protect them?

Kosovo: laying the foundation for a new cold war

No Gravatar
Russia has stressed its opposition to any decision on Kosovo’s
status that is not accepted by Serbia. It has warned that recognition
of Kosovo by the United States and other nations would encourage
separatists in the former Soviet Union, across Europe and around the world.

Russia is widely expected to block recognition of Kosovo in the United Nations and continue backing traditional ally Serbia.
President Vladimir Putin
said Friday that Russia would not “ape” the West, indicating it would
not immediately recognize long-standing independence claims of
pro-Russian separatist regions in ex-Soviet Georgia.

The Russians are correct this is going to make the whole region unstable. I think NATO is making a huge mistake and also building the foundations for a new cold war. When was the last time US foreign policy make sense in any crises area of the world?. It won’t start here.

Global cooling is more likely than any futher gloabal warming

No Gravatar

Are you ready for the global cooling that is coming or do you just want to waste money fixing a global warming problem that does not exist?

clipped from en.rian.ru
Temperatures on Earth have stabilized in the past decade, and the planet
should brace itself for a new Ice Age rather than global warming, a Russian
scientist said in an interview with RIA Novosti Tuesday.”Russian and foreign research data confirm that global temperatures in 2007
were practically similar to those in 2006, and, in general, identical to
1998-2006 temperatures, which, basically, means that the Earth passed the peak
of global warming in 1998-2005,” said Khabibullo Abdusamatov, head of a space
research lab at the Pulkovo observatory in St. Petersburg.

According to the scientist, the concentration of carbon dioxide in the
Earth’s atmosphere has risen more than 4% in the past decade, but global warming
has practically stopped. It confirms the theory of “solar” impact on changes in
the Earth’s climate, because the amount of solar energy reaching the planet has
drastically decreased during the same period, the scientist said.

European steel producers warn that carbon legislation will cost jobs

No Gravatar

You people in Europe are not getting it. The elite want you to lose jobs to other parts of the world until everyone is at the same level. This is the real agenda pushing carbon legislation. By the way, don’t worry about the US having an unfair advantage. The elite are planning to shove the same laws down the throats of the people of the US.

clipped from www.guardian.co.uk
Europe’s steelmakers warned the European Commission on Tuesday that
production and jobs would move abroad to less environmentally demanding
locations if Brussels did not amend radical plans to fight climate change.Philippe Varin, president of the European Confederation of Iron and Steel
Industries (Eurofer), said proposals to curb greenhouse gas emissions due out on
Wednesday would put his industry at a big competitive disadvantage compared to
Chinese, Russian and U.S. rivals.

Top Russian scientist: global cooling coming

No Gravatar

Contrary to all the hype that will cost you trillions the climate is about ready to get colder.

Top Russian scientist: global cooling coming: ”

‘Astrophysics knows two solar activity cycles, of 11 and 200 years. Both are
caused by changes in the radius and area of the irradiating solar surface. The
latest data, obtained by Habibullah Abdusamatov, head of the Pulkovo Observatory space research laboratory, say that Earth has passed the peak of its warmer period, and a fairly cold spell will set in quite soon, by 2012. Real cold will come when solar activity reaches its minimum, by 2041, and will last for 50-60 years or even longer”

WorldNetDaily: Waterboarding is not torture

No Gravatar

Under Foe Farah’s definition of torture you could stick cattle prods up prisoners butt’s and that would not be torture either.

Would Joe Farah want to be waterboarded when they come to make him renounce that Jesus is Lord? Waterboarding works because the person feels like he is drowning. Anyone who almost drowned knows the sensation. Let me almost drown Joe over and over until he renounces Jesus and he would be singing a different tune about what is torture. Do you advocate that the local police start using it to get confessions? Should we become as barbaric as our enemies?

Lets face reality, in extreme circumstances like an imminent nuclear explosion people are going to do whatever they think is necessary. If the danger is really great enough to break the law the reasons for breaking the law probably would make it lawful.

“My definition of torture is simple: It involves physical or mental
abuse that leaves lasting scars. Cutting off fingers, toes, limbs – that would be torture. Forcing prisoners to play Russian roulette – that would be torture. Sticking hot pokers in the eyes of prisoners – that would be torture”

Kosovo train-wreck warnings

No Gravatar

I think we are about to make a huge foreign policy blunder in Kosovo. If we want to start a cold war with Russia and even see a hot war with Serbia this is a good way to bring it about. We are also going to see a new military alliance over this. We are doing this to appease Muslims who are working againts us. It is a huge mistake. We are just making another world crises as if we do not have enough of them.

“Most ominously, Russia with its newfound resurgence under Vladimir
Putin’s guidance has stated its willingness to support Serbia against what
they would consider an illegal occupation of Serbian territory. The current Serbian government is divided on whether it would be prepared to use force to protect its citizens in a breakaway Kosovo, but there have been clear indications that Moscow is prepared to provide military assistance if Serbia requests it.”

“The U.S. seems intent on letting the Serbian province of Kosovo break away and apparently sees the issue of no great importance. Russia on the other hand, sees the situation very differently. Moscow has warned it will not accept ndependence for Kosovo. Mr. Putin has put his prestige on the line. He cannot afford to back down as Boris Yeltsin did.”

“And therein lies the crisis. This is an “optional” crisis. We cannot overlook the fact that the dominant element in the local Albanian administration are commanders from the so-called Kosovo Liberation Army that have known ties to the global jihad movement and organized crime. Further, more than 300 mosques have been built in Kosovo, funded mainly by Saudi Arabia where the radical teachings of the Wahhabi sect are promoted.”

Individual privacy under threat in Europe and U.S.

It should be no surprise that the more fear that exists the more Big Brother will be called upon to protect. The problem is when Big brother becomes a worse threat than the people that are feared.

LONDON: Individual privacy is under threat in the United States and across the European Union as governments introduce sweeping surveillance and information-gathering measures in the name of security and controlling borders, an international rights group has said in a report. Greece, Romania and Canada had the best privacy records of 47 countries surveyed by Privacy International, which is based in London. Malaysia, Russia and China were ranked worst. Both Britain and the United States fell into the lowest-performing group of ‘endemic surveillance societies.’”

Rice Says Serbia, Kosovo, Will Stay Separate Forever

No Gravatar

VOA News - Rice Says Serbia, Kosovo, Will Stay Separate: “U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said Friday Serbia and Kosovo will never be part of the same country again, and all those concerned should work for a stable outcome in the Balkans based on that reality.”

Never is a long time Miss Secretary. I wonder who made Condoleezza Rice the absolute ruler of the world? I am sure Serbia and Russia would disagree with her statement. It is one thing to state what you wish to happen and it is another thing to declare something temporal to be an absolute truth forever. It is an arrogant statement and it will be seen that way in Serbia and Russia. The main reason why the US gets into so many wars is that leaders in the US want to force everyone in the world to be the way that they want them to be. What Rice is supporting here is also not going to have a good outcome.

Putin, the Kremlin power struggle and the $40bn fortune

No Gravatar

Putin, the Kremlin power struggle and the $40bn fortune Russia Guardian Unlimited: “Citing sources inside the president’s administration, Belkovsky claims that after eight years in power Putin has secretly accumulated more than $40bn (£20bn). The sum would make him Russia’s - and Europe’s - richest man.
In an interview with the Guardian, Belkovsky repeated his claims that Putin owns vast holdings in three Russian oil and gas companies, concealed behind a ‘non-transparent network of offshore trusts’.
Putin ‘effectively’ controls 37% of the shares of Surgutneftegaz, an oil exploration company and Russia’s third biggest oil producer, worth $20bn, he says. He also owns 4.5% of Gazprom, and ‘at least 75%’ of Gunvor, a mysterious Swiss-based oil trader, founded by Gennady Timchenko, a friend of the president’s, Belkovsky alleges.
Asked how much Putin was worth, Belkovsky said: ‘At least $40bn. Maximum we cannot know. I suspect there are some businesses I know nothing about.’ He added: ‘It may be more. It may be much more.”

Perhaps Putin is just saving to buy back Alaska.
