Attack Iran and you attack Russia

Asia Times Online :: Middle East News - Attack Iran and you attack Russia: “A high-level diplomatic source in Tehran tells Asia Times Online that essentially Putin and the Supreme Leader have agreed on a plan to nullify the George W Bush administration’s relentless drive towards launching a preemptive attack, perhaps a tactical nuclear strike, against Iran. An American attack on Iran will be viewed by Moscow as an attack on Russia. “
I don’t think that plan can be implemented by Russia yet, but if the US waits too long to take out Iran’s capabilities, within a few years they could have a regional defense pact with Russia that says just that.

Please share with me why you think Russia is not ready to attack us? You have stated a few times in the pass that you believe that they will not be strong for another 5 or so years. Thanks.
I do not know who the us you refer to is? I guess you are referring to the US or the Gog invasion of Israel.
Russia certainly could destroy our cities today and we certainly could destroy theirs. Right now with Russia just starting to rise back toward world superpower status in the world I see no reason for Russia to want to cut that short and commit national suicide.
If you are talking about the Gog invasion of Ezekiel 38 and 39 they come down splendidly attired. The Russian military today is still a total mess. The Soviet Union collapse caused the almost complete collapse of the Russian army.
Today Russia simply does not have the modern military equipment to move into the middle East.
However, Putin has made it his number one priority to rebuild the Russian military. Even he says this process will take at least 15 years.
I do not say that Russia will be strong in 5 years or so. I think it will take Russia up to two decades to have a army that could fulfill the Gog prophecy.
That does not mean that Russia will not cause trouble before then or could not launch a nuclear attack but Russia simply will not be in the position to fulfill the Gog prophecy for 10 to 20 years.
Russia is also moving toward Fascism and Putin is doing this with his youth movement. It will take some time for these nationalist youth to get into positions of power.
Finally, Russia does not come alone. I think a new Soviet type union will be set up. We see the first stages of this taking place today as defense and economic agreements with former Soviet states.
Remember also, that when Gog come down, Israel is living in security. I hardly see that before there are some huge changes in the Middle-East. I think that will only come after Islamo-fascism is defeated so that there can be a peace treaty among all the nations of the area with Israel.
Therefore, I think the next major event is taking out Islam-Fascism in Iran, Syria, Afghanistan and Pakistan.
