Nice recap for the majority in the world that just don’t seem to get it.
They don’t get it because they can no longer think for themselves. They no longer think for themselves because there’s no such thing as individual responsibility and independence (freedom from gov’t) left. Gov’t determines what the majority thinks. How do you explain in less than a decade, gay marriage and adoption by gays in my country has been legalized and you’re considered a homophobe now just for disagreeing it is ‘natural’ and their ‘good right’, while two decades ago, gay marriage was unthinkable and not accepted by a majority of the people. The same also goes for abortion, by the way. Just back in the 80s, it was considered unacceptable in the majority of the cases and divorce was also frowned upon – though not uncommon. A decade later, in the 90s, all the sudden these things were not much of a problem anymore to most people though ‘fiscal fraud’ (not giving up more than half of your income to gov’t – sooo ‘anti-social’ eh) and environmental issues became the big issues.
Most people aren’t aware of this because they are too cowardly to go against the current instead of blindly following the majority as a flock of dumb sheep. Those who do dare to go against the current, well, they’re ignored, ridiculed or they call them ‘stubborn’ or ‘extremists.’
I don’t need to hear about no stinking democracy anymore and I also don’t agree with those who say being a Christian and a democrat (not in the sense of being member of the U.S. Democratic Party – though perhaps that too) at the same time is no problem. And especially when they proclaim that it is our duty as ‘good Christians’ to spread democracy around the world.
Whoaaa, great! Let’s give all those countries gov’ts that will lead to the legalization of homosexuality and pornography, and why not convince them that abortion rights provides more freedom for the women and while we’re at, we can turn the rest of the world feminist too! Let’s give them gov’ts destroying the family and taking away parental authority, and providing more legal protection for criminals than support for the victims!
That’s what ‘democracy’ means these days. An mishmash of destructive and indecent godless ideas that look down on aim at ‘social progress’ and sees only good in people and the opinion of the ‘majority.’
Individual liberty, individual responsibility, traditional family values, freedom of religion (rather than from religion), press freedom, free enterprise (and the right to the fruits of your own labor for the sake of your own family), constitution-centered limited gov’t… I can already hear them saying “Booooo, too American! Boooo, old-fashioned! Booo, anti-social! Booo, intolerant!” Uhm, no, I think you meant ‘un-Socialist.’
If in a democracy people or gov’t think there is no limit as to their human nature and life revolves around creation rather than the Creator, then they can have their democracy as far as I’m concerned.
An American may understand what I’m talking of since the founding fathers were in favor of a constitutional republic rather than pure democracy. But go explain that to the average European.
I also understand now why many Christians in undemocratic countries that persecute them nevertheless seem better able to live by the Word than us in our ‘free’ countries. Unlike them, we’re allowing and being surrounded by all kinds of filth and tolerate filthy ideas of filthy people in the name of ‘freedom’ and ‘tolerance.’ Dare I say, ‘democracy.’
Sure I’m glad I have ‘freedom’ but what is this earthly and superficial freedom worth when it keeps people living in sin – indeed, even promotes it! Western freedom has in many ways become synonymous with the lawlessness of Sodom and Gommorah.
‘For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.‘ (Romans 8:5-8)
‘For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God. For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope; because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. Sorry for the rant but frankly the culture I live in and have often acted by, and the things I’ve been hearing and reading lately, are making me sick. And the global warming scam is just one of them.
