If God lost the keys to the Kingdom that surely explains Genesis 1:3 "And God said, Let there be light: and there was light." He was just looking for the keys!! The preceding sentence is pure sarcasm.

That's how foolish this article is by Janet Folger.

My God, say it ain't true. I can feel your frustration. If the "Christians" are to take dominion of the planet, I think I'm going to have to move to the end of the world. Most can't even manage their churches in a biblical manner, let alone the world. Really saddens me to read this stuff on WMD. The article started off nicely but then it quickly turns into one of the greatest deceptions in Christianity. I find these statements frightening. Not that I "fear" it's ever going to work out that way but because of the parallells with many anti-Christian religions and how we see the same thinking is going to be omnipresent when the Antichrist reigns. It reminds me of Islam which is one of the most dominionist religions out there. You might say Islam claims to represent the "kingdom of God" on earth through the Ummah - the community of Believers. And look at what it means in practise - Islam is pretty much the exact opposite of the Gospel, darnit!

I don't claim to be perfect and to have it all right but frankly I have never held on to such views of Christianity and the nature and role of God's Kingdom as Janet Folger and fellow dominionist apparently do. I don't know just how deceived people can be to interprete Jesus' words this way! Sure I guess like many of us I've been tempted into wanting to have Christian values in society imposed on anyone else and mixing politics with our faith too much. I wrote about that in my comments just today. But even so that was more out of bitterness and never out of some theological belief that it's what God asks from us and definitely not that it's a matter of establishing God's Kingdom of earth! It's beyond me that modern-day evangelical Christians even see this as a Christian moral imperative.

So is this the Gospel we ought to be spreading to the oppressed in totalitarianist or Islamic fascist states now? Is this the powerful message of deliverance the Gospel brings to all of us enslaved by sinful habits, or those indoctrinated and brainwashed by evil ideologies or false religions that preach hatred and violence? No, I didn't think so! They might as well join the Papist and Orthodox churches if they want the Church to have dominion over the earth. They'll feel right at home.

This is truly a shame!
