Stupidity alone may eliminate America as a superpower
Is stupidity the real problem in America? Most of us really did not need to watch Jay Leno ask people questions on the street to realize that many Americans are quite stupid.
The American system now seems designed to make idiots of intelligent people:
If we were smart we would not be spending the most money per student in the world but getting some of the worst results.
If we were smart we would not be spending far more of our GDP on health care then anywhere else in the world and not even covering everyone.
If we were smart people on welfare would not have cell phones, 200 channels on their TV and be smoking and drinking on our dime.
If we were smart we would have small efficient functional governments at all levels instead of intrusive entrenched bureaucracies.
If we were smart our preachers would be teaching us God’s truth instead of teaching us psychology, how to get rich and social gospels.
If we were smart our teens could make make change for a dollar and would have a vocabulary that is more than “like” “awesome”.
If we were smart nobody in this nation would think that global warming is a dire threat to the world or that Al Gore is sane.
If we were smart people would not think that we can cure our debt problems by spending more money.
If we were smart we would not keep making the same mistakes and expecting different results (socialism comes to mind).
If we were smart we would not have czars turning America into Amerika.
If we were smart this nation would repent of its sins and for rejecting God.
If we were smart we would take this advise and start taking responsibility for ourselves

I cannot find in Bible prophecy where America becomes dumbed down in the last days but I cannot find America in Bible prophecy either. Is there a connection to our growing stupidity and why America is not in Bible prophecy? Stupidity alone may eliminate America as a superpower.
Unless you are stupid I am sure you can fill in the blanks above with many statements of your own. You might also read “American idiots” by James Quinn. Of course I am assuming that if you got this far you are also one of us Americans that can read.
According to the CDC, 66% of adults over the age of 20 are overweight or obese. That is approximately 140 million adults. Somewhere between 15 and 20 million Americans can be classified as alcoholics. As many as 50% of those on welfare are alcoholics. There are 225 million people over 18 years old and 32 million of them do not have a high school degree. There are 32 million adults or 14% who are illiterate (23% in California, 22% in New York, 20% in Florida, 17% in New Jersey). The United States’ spending per pupil in public schools at $9,266 is in the top 5 in the world. New York and New Jersey spend $14,000 per pupil and one-fifth of their adults are illiterate.
Forrest Gump, when asked “Are you stupid or something”, responded “Stupid is as stupid does”. A person’s appearance does not prove they are stupid. It is their deeds and actions which prove whether they are stupid or not. The terms stupid and idiot are not politically correct in today’s America. Intellectually challenged, IQ disadvantaged, aptitude deficient, brain power wanting, and acumen poor might satisfy the PC police. Let’s take a look at their definitions according to Webster’s Dictionary and assess whether they might apply to anyone in the increasingly socialized United States of today.

If we were smart we would be reading our Bibles daily and that would eliminate 98% of the problems listed above.
Joel is 100% correct. America had fewer problems when this country was a Christian nation.
Frank, You mean if we were a Christian nation like during the time of the Civil War?
I think we always had many Christians in this nation but I don’t think any nation on earth is or was a Christian nation. We might have said we were a Christian nation but so did most of Europe but history shows us otherwise. Having said that, if the people of any nation have a high moral code and seek justice for all I do not think that nation would reap judgment. America is now under judgment because of our immorality and because there is little justice for the innocent.
There is only a remnant of Christians left in America now. Excluding catholics (of course), we’re far below 30%. It’s obvious when you turn on the TV and can barely watch the commercials. Hedonism abounds. I could not imagine being God and seeing what he sees.
Am getting tired of the whole “why is America not in Bible prophecy rants”! Why does an EMP, economic, or stupidity crises have to hit to reduce us to ashes and of little importance? When dealing with Bible prophecy, the hypothetical scenarios are well played out, not needed, and off the topic. If you want to waste time on rants with no data to present other than, “America isn’t in Bible prophecy and here’s my 101 reason why they aren’t” I’ll go elsewhere for my reading. American’s are so self-absorbed and just can’t imagine that we aren’t in prophecy because we are soooooooo important. Please! The Bible makes no specific mention of this part of the world which was little known – it doesn’t say anything about Australia either, but no one is sending that nation into oblivion to explain its absence, nor that greater part of middle and southern Africa, or South America! GIVE IT A BREAK, ALREADY!
Doug, All I can say is that you cannot please all of the people all of the time and if you want to go elsewhere for information than you might tell everyone else where that perfect site is so all end time prophecy, discernment, apologetics and current events sites like mine can just shut down and let that perfect all pleasing ministry do all the work for us.
People are looking for answers. I am one of many trying to provide them. If you follow the links in the articles I almost always provide links to articles that embellish on what I said or what I said embellishes on what they said. If you look at the articles on the sidebar that are most hit on, you will get an idea of what people are thinking about and the information that they are seeking. If you will notice, David Wilkerson’s prophecy about judgment on America is number two.
Australia has never been the leader of the world and the most prosperous nation in the world with the strongest military in the history of the world. If Bible prophecy mentions other end time world powers and America cannot be found it is not because God did not know that America would never exist. It is because America fell as a world power before these end times events and is not a significant world player during them. So give me a break. If you can do better I suggest you do it!
Doug, you need to read Don’s stuff over a years period of time to get a feel for the content. Sounds like you made a shoot by the hip assessment. Don just covers the truth. It will all come to pass. I am certain of it. Don has a lot of things he writes that many others also confirm. This isn’t just his opinion. You have to be living in lala land not to see the trainwreck coming.
This is right on. Why on earth isn’t any of this being covered in the mainstream media? Because they are all godless fools and living in the dark.
This whole debate on healthcare is a joke. We are intent on a nation to completely bankrupt us by passing so called reform. If fraud and govt waste were to be wiped out then all the “uninsured could easily be insured without dismantling the private sector. I could go on and on about this.
Thanks Doug, I wrote an article in 2006 on how to fix the health care system. I may have overstated some things by calling our present system a national disgrace because believe it or not anyone who needs health care can usually get it in this nation. My wife is working in a totally free clinic tonight. But, I do stand by what I said in the article to get the costs down. I really think we could cover everyone in this nation for two thirds of what are nation is spending on health care today. I sent this article to Obama when he was looking for new ideas on health care but I never got a reply.

This guy talks about how those “new atheists” are doing a disservice to science but then again he is also doing it. Also in the article he says that we need to have a healthcare system like Canada.
This is a good article but I believe the verse in 2 Tim. 3:13 tells us the future of most Americans.
But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.

I just watched some guy on tv this morning talking about how we need to change, we shouldn’t have that second car and those bad forms of heating such as open fire places, give me a break!
America could deal the so called eite a serious blow, how? get rid of the federal reserve and there other centers of influence and power such as the trilateral commision and council on foreign relations, we would all be alot better off. Of course we all would have to stop paying attention to there damm UN as well.
There’s no doubt this country is in trouble. Like Eric said, we’d all have to be in LaLa land to not see it. America is being moved out of the way in continued preparation for the rise of the Anti-christ. The world would rather worship the created (Romans 1:25) and will be eager to welcome their (sub-)perfect human being in the lawless one. We see it with the green revolution of saving planet earth as if we need to establish a utopia for mankind. As our superpower status is removed or we become one of many, the very last days will drop like a hammer then – even while we think it is all moving so fast right now.

I too, think stupidity will be America’s downfall. But not because of ‘liberal indoctrination,’ big government or lack of religion. The stupidity you worry about is a direct by-product of the consumerist, materialistic mindset so prevalent with people I meet. A mindset instilled by a corporately-run society with billions of dollars in advertising-I think you’re confused about who is really in charge. You complain about the poor quality of education(rightly so), but you arrogantly dismiss Climate Change and impugn Al Gore..? I’m sure your religious beliefs have much to do with your rejection of hard science, but take a look around…do you really see that many people worried about ‘global warming?’ I sure don’t. We must live in different worlds.

I have studied what real scientists have been saying about global warming for years and man has little or nothing to do with it. As anyone knows that is paying attention the earth has been growing cooler for over a decade while CO2 has been increasing. A rise in CO2 will help and not harm the planet. Don’t confuse UN panels controlled by globalists and reports from those that get grants to fund pet projects to prove AGW global warming with reports from those actually doing hard science on the subject.
One reason global warming hype is losing favor is because the tide has changed. Too many lies were told and too many reports were found out to be junk science. Now most real climate scientists do not believe AGW is a threat and have come out against the lying baloney about AGW and about some “consensus” – a consensus that only exists in Al Gore’s feeble mind. However, the politicians will not let go of the issue because it means more taxes, wealth distribution, total control of people and global governance. All things liberal love. If they stay on this path and try to double the cost of all energy in the name of sustainable development (Agenda 21) while the earth keeps cooling they run a real risk of all being tared and feathered.
Obviously you live in a different world because your world is not based on reality.
