I agree with your analogy, but I'm praying (hard) for the Rapture to come soon!! Like ....tonight! LOL!
I have an unbelievably blessed life, with great kids, a doting husband, a gorgeous house and all the luxuries of this earth life and I am STILL ready to meet my Savior today. There is nothing here to compare with our ultimate home.

Can't Wait!!!

Oh. Well that's pretty clear. I love it when I find someone to give me short, to the point answer to a complicated scripture. Thank You!

It really is explained by the wheat and tares parable. The tares were sown by the enemy. Not all people on earth are God's people. Some are the enemy, they were sowed by the devil. Jesus spoke in parables so the tares of Satan will not see.

Hmmm.....I'm glad I have faith, because I read that verse in my "Bible for Dummies" version and I still don't know what it means. But I have the faith of 100 people. Thank God.

Thank you for your time!

Hi Cindy,

Jesus made it quite clear why he spoke in parables. The secrets of the kingdom of Heaven are only for those it is given.

Math 13:10 And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?
11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
12 For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.
13 Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:
15 For this people’s heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
16 But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.

I agree with Don, the fig tree parable does not represent the nation of Israel in 1948. For all the prophecy teachers mentioned on those sites (Jack Kelly, Rapture Ready, etc), there are plenty of other premillennial teachers that concur that Jesus meant something else, including John MacArthur, S. Lewis Johnson, and prophecy teacher Thomas Ice. The parallel passage in Luke 21 alone is a pretty good indication.

"I read Rapture Ready and Grace thru Faith websites everyday. Listen to Perry Stone a lot as well. I just have one burning question. If I can find the true answer to this question, I’ll have the key to it all!

Who was Jesus referring to in Matthew when he said “this generation” shall not pass away before “all these things” happen? If he was talking about the generation that was born when Israel became a nation (as most end times scholars agree) and by “all these things” He was including the second coming (and He had to be including the most important event) then wouldn’t His second coming HAVE to occur by 2018, since we know man’s lifetime is 70 years (80 if he is strong)?? 1948-2018 is 70 years. 80 years would be 2028.

I am VERY VERY interested in getting one more opinion on this subject. I have Jack Kelly’s opinion, Todd’s from Rapture Ready and several other scholars (I can’t ever spell eschotologist!!) have emailed me on this subject. "

Thank you for your time. Glad you wrote that article. I'm saving it to read again later.

Could I possibly get your take on something else? I know you are a mere man, but if you had to guess, why do you think Jesus answered people in riddles? Surely He wanted us to understand His words. I've just always wondered why we have to guess what He meant so much of the time. Everybody has a different interpretation and it gets so confusing.
That parable, in particular, has always frustrated me and that is one of the first question I have when I get to heaven!
See you there!
Thanks again!

Cindy, I do not think the fig tree parable is as simple a matter to understand as some teachers think.

Here is my take on that passage.

I've studied and studied and read and prayed about this for years. I certainly understand your take on this. The circumstances required are just not in place. I have always known this. On the other hand, if it takes another 20-30 years, then Jesus words in Matthew cant be true and we already know that every word of God is pure. So it's a real dilemma for me.

Thanks for your time. God Bless.

Peter,

Dimitri Dudamen and Henry Gruver were false prophets. They have never made a verifiable significant prophecy that ever came true and they have made many that did not come true. The Prophecy Club (or heresy club) has been spouting the nonsense of these two and every other crackpot since the early 90's, According to the prophecies of all these false prophets this invasion of America was to have happened before the year 2000. People have no memories.

Now, I am not saying that the United States will not decline or even break in the near future. Perhaps ultimately what happens in America is still based on choices the American people make. The people still have the power to stop the heathen if they get off there butt. No matter anyway, what happens in America it is not the same as what happens in Babylon since America is not and cannot be Babylon.

God is not sending Gentile prophets with new messages to supplement the Bible and tell us the future of America. You and these false prophets are not getting any of this about America from the Bible. America is not Babylon, America is not mentioned in Bible prophecy and America does not fit the prophecies on Babylon in the Bible.

I do not disagree that Russia and China will be world powers in the 2020's but that has nothing to do with what these false prophets have been saying. It seems that some are now using the "China man behind every bush" drivel pushed by the Prophecy Club and the self appointed prophets of the 90's and are now pushing out all the fulfillment to a more distant time when China and Russia could really be a threat to the world. But, back in the late 90's I was already writing that China and Russia did not have the capabilities to do what these false prophets and the Prophecy Club were suggesting and that China and Russia would not have the capabilities for two or three decades. Nevertheless, people followed the false prophets anyway and what seems to be wishful thinking or a death wish to fight some NWO. How many people bought rural places and now have stashes of rotten food and others goods because they bought into this nonsense in the 90's?

The bottom line is do not confuse world trends with the false prophecies of these two that claimed special revelations from God and all others like them. World trends indicate that Russia and China will be in a position to fulfill Bible prophecy in about 20 years if their weapons programs and modernization programs continue on pace. The false prophecies from self appointed prophets have continuously been wrong in their early date setting and those that are basing future events on Muslim, Mayan or any other pagan sources will again be proven wrong with their 2012-2019 speculations for events that cannot be fulfilled that soon.

I agree with you that next major war in the Middle-East may result in the destruction of Syria. The next war is probably the Psalm 83 war. The prophecies in the Bible about Israel in the last 42 months before Jesus returns is very clear. Two-thirds of the people in the Land will be cut off and one-third of the people will be refined through the fire. You imply that there will not be a Zionist state in the future but God says there will be and it will be led by Jesus Christ from Jerusalem in Israel. What are you one of those replacement theology British Israel heretics? Seems the Prophecy Club followers has a whole lot of that type.

You say Jesus was born around 30 AD. Lets see some documentation on your bazaar choice of dates? I have never heard a credible scholar even suggest such a late date for the birth of Jesus!

Of course you do not believe in a pre-trib rapture you apparently believe you are going to fight the Antichrist and his NWO and win just like those in the Prophecy Club. Never mind, that the Bible teaches no such concept.
