In my opinion not all veterans are heroes, and there are plenty of heroes who are not veterans, including teachers, policemen, nurses etc etc. Despite this, the article is fascinating and I never realised that the constitution was attached so strongly to the purpose of the armed forces in the US. I'm surprised that it is not so often mentioned because it brings their purpose back to the ideals of the country, and that's important.
