Don:
I am studying the feast period between Pentecost, Trumpets and Atonement.  Specifically,  I am presently focusing on the day counts and prophetic implications between Trumpets and Atonement.

Messiah Yeshua fulfilled the Spring feasts to the day.  It seems that the day count ended with Pentecost and that the period between Pentecost and Atonement may be days of years as in the case of Daniel’s 70th week.

There are 10 days between Trumpets and Atonement.  Most expect that Daniel’s 70th week will occur prophetically during these 10 days/years.  Mainstream biblical scholars (pre-trib/millenialists) say that Daniel’s week happens here.   I would agree.

If that is true, then Daniel’s week accounts for 7 days of years.  Prophetically, 3 days are missing.  Are these days or years of days ?  The pattern would suggest days of years.    Leviticus says little about Trumpets.   It is a Sabbath, a memorial day for the blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation.   So, three prophetic days are missing.  Are these three days of years?  Do we look for a  prophetic 10 day/year period.    God is exacting and all scripture is mathematically perfect.  God does not waste words or numbers.  All has meaning.  God is consistent with His use of patterns.  He wants us to search out the Word and know.  Amos 3:7, Proverbs 25:2

Nevertheless, no one addresses the 10 days of Awe in a prophetic manner as they do for the Spring Festival First Coming of our Lord.

What are your thoughts on these 10 days between Trumpets and Atonement and Daniel’s week ?  I cannot find much of any discussion on this concept.

It seems to me that it should be a 10-day/year period from a prophetic pattern of usage.

I am of the belief that the period of 2017-2024 is a likely candidate for Daniel’s week for so many reasons.  If so, 2014 would be the beginning of the 10 days/years period.

We are most definitely in the season of Daniel’s 2,520 days/years (360 day prophetic years):

Jews return Babylon 537 BC + 2,520 years = 1948 Israel Independence
Rebuild Jerusalem 518BC + 2,520 years = 1967 East Jerusalem captured
2017 will be 70 years from UN Partition to create Israel 11-29-47
2017 will be 50 years from Jerusalem recovery
2017 possible Yovel year corresponding to 1967(E. Jerusalem) and 1917 (Balfour)

Don’s answer:

I explain in my Revelation Commentary that I think there will be 10.5 years from the start of seals until the end. That would kind of line up with the 10 day (years) of awe or woe. The first 3.5 years would be the first seals of Revelation and a time of great trouble on earth caused by the wars of man (not the wrath of God). (Sort of a Satanic led counterfeit tribulation before the real judgments of God even occur.)

I think the last seven years starts with the 6th seal and with the sealing of the 144,000 Israeli’s and then we see the wrath of the Lamb (Trumpets). These judgments come because of what the great Harlot of Revelation 17 did to believers. They killed Bible believers thinking that they were doing God a favor (fifth seal). The Trump judgments will be followed by the wrath of God because of the Antichrist’s persecution of Israel (vials).

My conjecture is that seven years after the start of a great world war the religious people of the world will be looking for their own concept of a Christ to appear. They will be wide open for the false counterfeit Christ after he kills the two prophets of God that will be telling the world about the Jewish Kingdom is coming. The Harlot with Replacement Theology will not accept that Christ is going to establish his Kingdom on earth with literal Jews.

I think the world very will could label these two Jewish prophets “the Antichrist” and “his false prophet”. That is why the whole world will be rejoicing after the two prophets are killed. The world will actually think the tribulation is over and that they have achieved the Kingdom age. At that time, the counterfeit Christ and his false prophet will then play out their role for 42 months during the Day of the Lord. The world did not want to believe the truth as told by God’s prophets and His witnesses so they will be deceived to believe a lie.

Other than that parallel, I do not speculate about the days of awe.

Just by looking at how the world stage is set up (or actually not quite yet set up). I think you are about ten years too soon for the start of Daniel’s 70th week. I do not think that you can rely on our solar calendars for those kinds of dating speculation. The late Grant Jeffrey, tried to do that mostly using the lunar calendar in his book “Armageddon Appointment With Destiny” but he had the Rapture coming in 1993 and the second coming in 2000 AD. Anyway, that is my take.

Hello Mr. Koenig,

I found your website this evening in a study of Revelation that I have been undertaking.  After a cursory glance of your views on chapter 17, the chapter I am studying this evening, to make sure your not another nutcase (let’s just say I have found a few) I proceeded to inspect some of your other pages and found your statement of faith. I read through the whole thing with only 2 surprises and I wonder if you would be so kind as to permit a stranger to inquire about them?
Firstly, the demon Nephilim connection kind of caught me off guard. I can’t say I have ever noticed a set of Scripture to lead me to infer such an idea, but what I consider to be the validity of your statements up to that point gave me pause to consider that I might should keep reading. Finding only 1 area past this that again gave me any further pause I must ask, how did you come to this conclusion?
Now, my second question. Concerning the rapture, I take it you believe in a pre tribulation rapture? I read it to be more pre wrath, and I must say that I come to that conclusion by no snap judgement. Yet, so many of the men that I have honestly come to respect and trust on so many other issues hold this same view that I begin to wonder, what am I missing? As I said, I simply read and seek to discern through the prompting of the Holy Spirit and yet I come to a separate conclusion.
Of course, this is no great calamity such as could cause me to be gravely concerned. I would not permit such a difference of opinion (and I see it perhaps no more strongly than as that, opinion) to cause division among my self my fellow true believers. This is not a salvation issue. It’s just that, this happens so often that I am driven to reach out. I have posed this question to my pastor and we are to meet to discuss it. I further pose this question to you now: When will Christ collect his true believers, and what scripture supports your view?

Please forgive me if I have stepped beyond curious and cordial into an area which I do not wish to tread. Thank you exceedingly for your time and your patience.

The best way to explain my position is to point you to articles that I wrote on the theology. This article is quite recent and of course this interpretation of 2Th 2:3 is not set in stone.

This other article I wrote over ten years ago gives many proofs for the pre-trib Rapture view.

Proofs for the pretribulation rapture

The Pre-Trib Research Center – website gives a wealth of information on the pre-trib Rapture view under the “articles” pull down menu.

On the other issue, here is an article about the Nephilim that I wrote

Aliens from outer space or the great deception?

And the most downloaded article on my Blog gives background on the same subject. You might want to read the many comments.

The Book of Enoch and Bible prophecy

By the way, the link to http://www.alienresistance.org/ website in that post is not broken it just sometimes takes a long time to load.

Good afternoon.

Just a quick question , how many states are involved in the Mediterranean Union at the moment? I’ve been out of touch with End-Time Prophecy for quite a while and now trying to catch up on this interesting article off your website. As far as I understand it, there are 15 currently and wondering this is correct……thus according to Bible reference there should be 10 in total. This means 5 from the Middle East and 5 from Western/Eastern Europe?

Don’s Answer:

There are 28 members of the EU last I heard. The ten kings or horns could be ten zones within the EU or ten world zones. Both have been proposed.

You might be interested in the article I wrote that relates to the issue.

Don,
Something I cannot make sense of is in Revelation where it says the bride will reign and rule with Christ. There will be millions if not billions in the church/bride. How can that many rule and reign?  It hardly seems practical. Especially since not that many will enter the millennial kingdom, initially. Any ideas?

Don’s Answer:

In a parable Jesus said faithful servants would be given authority over a different number of cities as a reward for faithful service. Some that had their rewards taken away will be given no direct authority but they will still be part of the Lord’s administration that is ruling and reigning over those on earth. Most immortals probably will be living in the Holy City that may be orbiting above the earth.

Many will be doing some of the same roles that angels do today but they will be physical immortal beings that will be interacting with mortal people on earth. At that time, those with rewards of authority may be given authority over 10, others over 100, others over 1000, and some others will be given authority over entire cities and nations. Also keep in mind, that under the near perfect conditions on earth and the long life spans there could easily be 100 billion mortal people living on the earth after several generations.

Dear Don,

Would you check out this article and let me know your thoughts on it? I didn’t want to post it on your website as it comes to a differing conclusion than the one you support, less I be called a contrarian. Rather, I just want to know what all studied parties consider of the differing evidence. This search started from my recently reading Josephus where he talks of Magog being the Scythians. This article was actually the first that came up on a Google search of the topic.

Don’s answer:

I would not set anything in stone about any of this but this is not a new argument. However, most of the best scholars see Russia as the leader.

For example, there is this scholarly work http://jonruthven.org/rosh.pdf.  Dr. Ruthven read my article on Russia and he emailed me and said I had it correct. It seems the person that wrote that article claims everything that does not fit his theory “is a forgery”. That just does not seems credible. Who can prove or disprove what is a forgery from documents written centuries ago?

Muslim Antichrist proponents have come up with Turkey rather than Russia but their case is weak and Turkey is coming with Russia anyway.

The writer, apparently thinks Gog will come with Europe. It very well may include a large part of Europe. Tribes mention in the passage can be traced all the way to the Germans. That is why Hal Lindsey thought the Soviet Union would fulfill this invasion in the 1980’s the East Germans were in the Soviet Union. I do not rule out that Russian influence will expand to most of Europe once again before this invasion takes place.

Even so, Tarshish and the young lions question this invasion. That most likely is England and all the young nations that were once led by her (the commonwealth nations and the U.S.).

There are great difficulties making the Gog war and the war of Armageddon the same war. The description of each war in the Bible is quite different and the battle and armies are destroyed in different locations. There are many reasons why they cannot be the same battle but I do not have the time to get into them. You can research that on the Internet.

Also, keep in mind that Daniel states that the king of north and the king of the east will come against what we assume to be the Antichrist. If the king of the north were the Antichrist that would not make sense.

Best wishes on your research,

  1. Don,

First, I thought you were under the assumption that the 2nd coming would have to occur around the 2030’s. Did you change your mind?

Clearly the 2520 year cycle has some significance but we don’t know what the start date is. It is most likely something mentioned in Daniel and ends with the 2nd coming, Israels rebirth, or both.

The days of awe are also called the days of repentance if I remember correctly. It would make sense if the people left behind from the rapture get 10 years to repent before Messiah returns.

Babylon is still nowhere near being the world capital so unless Satan is allowed to bring a counterfeit holy city down from heaven I don’t see even 2023 working out. Just my opinions.

  2. Jim,

I think the Lord will come in the 2030’s from what I see in the world, but the second coming does not have to occur by then. God can always do what He wants. He can delay the Lord’s coming. For example, another black plague like disease could decimate populations on earth, a solar EMP could destroy our modern civilizations, or a nuclear war could occur. Any of these could set back civilization and could delay the fulfillment of Bible prophecy for hundreds of years. So never say have to when talking about what is in God’s timing alone.

I don’t think it takes 20 years to build a world capital. All it really takes is for government buildings to be built and world Bureaucrats to relocate there. Keep in mind that the Antichrist will have Satan and his fallen angels to assist him.

I think one conjecture that you’re making is that you think that Babylon will have to contain millions of people because of what is said in Revelation 17. There is no reason to believe that the Harlot of Revelation 17 and the Beast are one and the same. Babylon of Revelation 18 is the world political and economic system led by Satan. What is said to the Harlot in Revelation 17 is not talking about the Beast Kingdom, it is talking about a Harlot woman influencing world religion to rule over people.

The ten kings that give their power to the Beast hate and burn the Harlot of Revelation 17 after the two witnesses of God are killed and the False Prophet arises. The woman is world religion. It has always persecuted God’s people and that is why the blood of the Saints are found in her. Satan and his antichrist will not acknowledge world religion they will replace all religion by making the world to believe that the Beast is God.

After the Beast arises, wickedness will be moved to the plains of Shinar (Zec 4 and 5) that is in the land of what is now Iraq. Notice that a house (temple) will be built there for wickedness. Like I said, The pagan rebellion began at Babylon and it will be destroyed there. The prophecies about Babylon have never literally been fulfilled but they will be.

I go into great detail about all this in my revelation commentary in chapters 17 and 18. Chapter 18 goes into great detail about Satan’s world system that God calls Babylon. If you really want to understand this I suggest you read them. I am not going to rewrite those ten thousand words here because certain former Muslims write books and want other to believe that they can interpret Bible prophecy through Muslim eyes.

  3. Don,

In regard to your previous comment of what you just said, I do agree that The Lord does not ‘HAVE TO’ come at any time that we humans dictate or think…it is on His timetable, not ours.

Whether it be a nuclear, black plague, etc decimation of societies and/or nations…it does not have to but possibly could delay things from our perspective.

Hundreds of years does to me sound completely impossible, then again, I’m sure that the past generations dating back 1000’s of years thought the same thing.

I have read where, for example, the Catholic Church long ago tried to bring the 2nd Coming about by their own efforts…but how feeble of an attempt was that ?…looking back at it in retrospect.

Still, with the direction of the entire world, we can’t make it much longer unless there is some seriously BIG events…Islam has to be crushed or they will inevitably take over the entire world by sheer numbers…and how much longer can Israel hold off the constant diabolical attacks without more supernatural intervention from The Lord Himself ?

Then there is the numbers game, The Lord as your 1st emailer posted in this article pointed out…works with precision numbers…and with the world as we know it being on the cusp of the 3rd and 7th day plus all the other figures…could there be an equation that we are not seeing…yet ?

Then there is us, the United States labeled by Islam as being “the great satan”…and really, can we as Bible believing Christians say that’s not true any longer ?

The entire world is in turmoil, economically and militarily…while theoretically, it might be possible for The Lords’ 2nd Coming to be hundreds of years off, it doesn’t seem likely.

    Just my opinion, of course.

  4. ~David,

Obviously, I was not saying that the Lord’s coming would be hundreds of years in the future. As you know, I think it will be in 2030’s. But, I have to say none of your arguments prove anything about the timing of the coming of the Lord.

    1. There does not have to be any precision numbers as to the timing of the second Coming and if there is that does not mean that man can find them out. In fact, Jesus implied that nobody can, because it is a time known to the Father alone.

    2. Christendom was taking over the world just a few hundred years ago and still outnumbers Islam by 5 to 3 so with your rational “Christian” Dominion Theology will be taking over the world. Sheer numbers do not take over the world if the birth rates in Islamic nations fall or they are slaughtered by the sheer force of Western powers or converted to Christianity. The rise of Islam by itself does not mean the end is upon us any more than the new rise of neo-Fascism and Eastern religions makes the end a certainty.

    3. What people call the United States or what people believe in the United States has no bearing on the timing of Bible prophecy.

    4. The whole world has always been in turmoil. Read a world history book. There certainly is less war in the world right now than there was during World War I or II.

Now, I could give you more rational arguments why the end will almost certainly occur before 2050. However, I already wrote posts that deal with that issue. People can find them on the sidebar. Here is one example.
