This report by Kuwait Times that two additional aircraft carrier groups are heading toward the gulf could be very important because the U.S. would insist on having four aircraft carrier groups in that area before it would give Israel any green light to strike Iran. The same is true if the U.S. decided to strike Iran itself.

If this report is true figure that it will take about a month to get all the ships in place and ready for action. So nothing will happen before early September but like I said before an attack in late September to early October makes more political sense than after the election if it looks like Obama might win. It should be very interesting that two additional carrier groups have been reported to be heading that way to fit the timing of a pre U.S. election strike.

When you actually see four carrier groups in the Gulf and Red Sea, it could mean a strike on Iran is imminent. The U.S. would not allow Israel to strike Iran without first having adequate air power in place.

Two additional United States naval aircraft carriers are heading to the Gulf and the Red Sea, according to the Kuwaiti newspaper Kuwait Times.

Kuwait began finalizing its “emergency war plan” on being told the vessels were bound for the region.

The US Navy would neither confirm nor deny that carriers were en route. US Fifth Fleet Combined Maritime Command located in Bahrain said it could not comment due to what a spokesman termed “force-protection policy.”

While the Kuwaiti daily did not name the ships it believed were heading for the Middle East, The Media Line’s defense analyst said they could be the USS Theodore Roosevelt and the USS Ronald Reagan.

This article on the dangers and effects of an EMP is quite informative. I wrote on this issue a few time already but I think we had all better become more aware of this danger.

A EMP attack is probably the prime event that could eliminate the U.S. from being a factor in end time Bible prophecy. When you read the below article take note that Dr. Graham thinks a EMP could reduce the population of the U.S. to about 30 million people. Dr. Graham is not a crackpot he is the foremost expert on EMP’s. He knows what he is talking about. The EMP will not kill anyone directly but it will make all our critical infrastructure systems fail without any hope of a recovery for months or years. We simply could not support most of our population and people would be dying in days.

This is not idol speculation. This danger is well known by our military and our government but congress just cannot seem to do what is right to protect America.

This article indicates that Iran is preparing for an EMP attack against America and if they had such a capability does anyone doubt that they would use it? For this reason alone we must NEVER allow Iran to ever build nuclear weapons. Some may say they would not dare launch an EMP against the U.S. because it would be the end of them. Well maybe that would be true if you were dealing with sane people. These people think that the Maudi would come and fight for them. Iran could also give a nuke to terrorists and it could be launched from a freighter. So then do we nuke Iran without proof that they were even behind it? So Iran must NEVER be allowed to develop nuclear weapons. Some people say they would not be a threat to our nation but these people are not seeing the EMP picture. An EMP could bring the end of this nation.

We also could be done in by a single EMP weapon from China, Russia, or even North Korea. China and Russia have both reminded us of that possibility within the last decade. There are other dangers as well such as Pakistan and non state sponsored terrorist organizations.

I do have to disagree somewhat as to what is the defense against an EMP. This article only talks about a missile shield. An anti missile might intercept a missile fired from another state but it is not likely to intercept a missile from a ship near our coast. It also should be obvious that no state is going to launch an EMP attack on the U.S. and then announce that they did it. So, even if Russia or China were to launch a single missile or two fired from a sub or a surface vessel they will promptly destroy the evidence before we could determine who was behind the attack. So then do we attack everyone with a EMP capability?

Besides stopping unstable nations from getting nuclear weapons material the single most important thing we can do to protect ourselves from an EMP attack is to harden all our critical infrastructure from the effects of an EMP. It would not cost that much to do. It is simply putting a metal shield around electronic and electrical devices as they are being built. It could be largely accomplished in 5 to 10 years if we started now. However, this EMP threat has been known for decades. After the 9/11 attack Congress commissioned experts to report on the EMP threat and that report was given to them four years ago but nothing since has been done. The report reads much like this article but it goes into much more detail.

So with that in mind I would say we can expect an EMP anytime within the next decade and I would say we will still be completely vulnerable to an EMP attack because our government is irrational and it is not likely that they will take the action necessary to make our infrastructures survivable.

I will also say that this is most likely the way that America will be eliminated from end time prophetic events. That might be a bleak announcement but the probability of an EMP happening and causing the destruction of our population is more likely than not. Especially now that the U.S. government and most people in this nation are denying the God that made the U.S. prosper and endorsing debauchery.

“They’ve got [test] ranges in Iran which are more than long enough to handle Scud launches and even Shahab-3 launches,” Dr. Graham said. “Why would they be launching from the surface of the Caspian Sea? They obviously have not explained that to us.”

Another troubling group of tests involved Shahab-3 launches where the Iranians “detonated the warhead near apogee, not over the target area where the thing would eventually land, but at altitude,” Graham said. “Why would they do that?”

Graham chairs the Commission to Assess the Threat to the United States from Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) Attack, a blue-ribbon panel established by Congress in 2001.

The commission examined the Iranian tests “and without too much effort connected the dots,” even though the U.S. intelligence community previously had failed to do so, Graham said.

“The only plausible explanation we can find is that the Iranians are figuring out how to launch a missile from a ship and get it up to altitude and then detonate it,” he said. “And that’s exactly what you would do if you had a nuclear weapon on a Scud or a Shahab-3 or other missile, and you wanted to explode it over the United States.”

The commission warned in a report issued in April that the United States was at risk of a sneak nuclear attack by a rogue nation or a terrorist group designed to take out our nation’s critical infrastructure.

“If even a crude nuclear weapon were detonated anywhere between 40 kilometers to 400 kilometers above the earth, in a split-second it would generate an electro-magnetic pulse [EMP] that would cripple military and civilian communications, power, transportation, water, food, and other infrastructure,” the report warned.

Within a week or two of the attack, people would start dying, Graham says.

“People in hospitals would be dying faster than that, because they depend on power to stay alive. But then it would go to water, food, civil authority, emergency services. And we would end up with a country with many, many people not surviving the event.”

Asked just how many Americans would die if Iran were to launch the EMP attack it appears to be preparing, Graham gave a chilling reply.

“You have to go back into the 1800s to look at the size of population” that could survive in a nation deprived of mechanized agriculture, transportation, power, water, and communication.

“I’d have to say that 70 to 90 percent of the population would not be sustainable after this kind of attack,” he said.

America would be reduced to a core of around 30 million people

Rep. Trent Franks, R, Ariz., plans to introduce legislation next week that would require the Pentagon to lay the groundwork for an eventual military strike against Iran, to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons and EMP capability.

“An EMP attack on America would send us back to the horse and buggy era — without the horse and buggy,” he told the Claremont Institute conference on Saturday. “If you’re a terrorist, this is your ultimate goal, your ultimate asymmetric weapon.”

Noting Iran’s recent sea-launched and mid-flight warhead detonation tests, Rep. Franks concluded, “They could do it — either directly or anonymously by putting some freighter out there on the ocean.”

This is an interesting and somewhat different perspective on when Israel might attack Iran. The theory is that if the hardliner Mofaz wins in the Kadima Party in mid to late September he might reach across to the Likud party and bring in hardliner Benjamin Netenyahu as prime minister. Then the theory goes that it would be best for Israel to attack Iran before the U.S. election in November so as to not to antagonize a President-elect Obama (they all think he is going to win if there is no war) with a strike between the time he wins the election and takes office in January.

I would not think that Israel would want to strike Iran right before our election so a reasonable date would be around October 1-15 which just happens to be the Jewish fall holiday season this year. We will see what happens? My own opinion is that I think this theory makes more sense than the conventional wisdom that says Israel will attack Iran between the U.S. election and Obama taking office (if he should win).

THE most important primary for our 2008 election may be yet to come - the Kadima Party primary in Israel in mid or late September. It pits liberal-leaning Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni against hardliner and former Army Chief of Staff Shaul Mofaz. (Prime Minister Ehud Olmert is expected to sit out the contest and concentrate on staying out of jail.)

The polls are neck and neck; in the most recent, Livni’s once-formidable lead has shrunk to 2 points. Hanging over the battle is the Iranian nuclear program.

Mofaz might not want to wait for our election. Why risk antagonizing a President-elect Obama by taking military action that he might vigorously oppose? If Obama, having won, were to counsel patience, what Israeli prime minister could ignore him?

Before the US election, on the other hand, Obama might be reluctant to take a position - and the Israelis need feel no compulsion to conform to any advice from a man who isn’t yet be president-elect.

Surely, an Israeli attack on Iran would bring a sharp and instant response from Iran and from its satellites, Syria, Hamas and Hezbollah, as well as its pawns in Iraq. It would presage war in Gaza, Lebanon and the West Bank along with an air war of Israeli missiles and bombers against Iranian missiles.

Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan and the Gulf states would criticize Israel in public but probably breathe a sign of relief in private that Iran’s nuclear ambitions were thwarted or at least postponed.

The ensuing crisis would probably militate in McCain’s favor if it erupted before the US election.

I guess anyone who actually thinks that Iran is not trying to develop nukes still believes in the tooth fairy. It now appears that Iran is about 6 months away from crossing a red line that they will not be allowed to cross. So unless Iran suddenly wakes up and stops their nuclear program expect a strike on Iran before the end of the year. New Evidence of Iran Nuclear Threat - CWN

The IAEA has been denied access to various sensitive locations related to the manufacturing of centrifuges, as well as sites for research and development on uranium enrichment. The IAEA has also confronted Iran with documents it found detailing some of Iran’s research activities. The documents have raised red flags concerning the possible military dimensions of Iran’s nuclear program. The IAEA report states:

“One aspect of the alleged studies refers to the conversion of uranium dioxide to UF4, also known as green salt. A second aspect concerns the development and testing of high voltage detonator firing equipment and exploding bridgewire (EBW) detonators including, inter alia, the simultaneous firing of multiple EBW detonators; an underground testing arrangement; and the testing of at least one full scale hemispherical, converging, explosively driven shock system that could be applicable to an implosion-type nuclear device. A third aspect of the studies concerns development work alleged to have been performed to redesign the inner cone of the Shahab-3 missile re-entry vehicle to accommodate a nuclear warhead.”

This article might wake you up to the real possibilities of a nuclear terrorist attack on American cities. The article makes the case for an al-Qaeda plan to set off seven bombs in seven different cities. There is no doubt in my mind that they will someday have the capability to set off a nuke and with there sanctuary in Pakistan they can train for that with impunity. I do not know if they can carry off an attack on seven cities at once but I would not rule it out. Even if they could set off one nuke in one city it would change the world as we know it.

Anyone who thinks that after such an attack that America and NATO would not launch a war against Islamic fundamentalism extending from Pakistan to Syria is living in fantasyland. Even the Islamics knows this but they think their Mahdi will come and lead them into victory. They actually want this war to happen so that their Mahdi will come.

However, in reality what will really take place is a sharp world war where Islamic fundamentalism and its terrorism will be defeated worldwide. After that, you will see the setting up of Middle-East peace and a pluralistic universal all ways to God religion.

I think this war and the following time of peace has to take place before biblical end time events can be literally fulfilled but now you can see how this war could become a reality at any time. Pakistan and Iran are now making nuclear material that can get into the hand of terrorists. As this article points out nuclear material can be obtained in other ways as well. International gangs are now in place to aid the effort to smuggle in the nuclear material and the terrorists. We had better start dealing with those issues before we have to deal with the world changing aftermath.

The latest audio message from al-Qaeda, reportedly from Osama bin Laden himself, is only the most recent confirmation that the jihadist threat to the West remains real and deadly serious. But the fact that it could take the form of nuclear terrorism should be most worrying to citizens and policy makers alike.

Where a nuclear attack once may have been beyond the capacities of stateless terrorists, that is no longer the case. One need only consider Khalid Sheik Mohammed (KSM), mastermind of 9/11 and chief operating officer of al-Qaeda, who revealed under intensive interrogation — including the much-maligned tactic of waterboarding — that a nuclear attack against the United States was a top priority for al-Qaeda.

According to the New York Daily News and its sources, the captive KSM told his interrogators that Osama bin Laden was planning a “nuclear hell storm” in America.

Shukrijumah had much work to do for his “American Hiroshima” plan, which would detonate actual nuclear bombs in seven American cities at once. Paul Williams surmises that Osama bin Laden’s increasingly messianic pronouncements over the airwaves are psychologically tied up with his expectations of the nuclear destruction of the Great Satan—with bin Laden himself as the prophesied Mahdi, the fiery culmination of 1,600 years of Islamic history.

The experts are not talking about vague probabilities far into the future. Former Clinton Secretary of Defense William Perry and former Assistant Secretary of Defense Graham Allison are among those who have estimated that chance at more than 50 percent over the next decade. That is, two respected experts in the field believe that the nuclear destruction of one or more American urban centers is more probable than not in the very near future.

Al-Qaeda keeps increasing the number of Americans it publicly dreams of killing in its nuclear hellstorm. In 2002, Sulaiman Abu Ghaith, Osama bin Laden’s former official press spokesman, claimed the right for jihadis “to kill four million Americans.” Just one year later, in his fatwa declaring the use of WMD obligatory, Nasir al-Fahd put the number of Americans that it is permissible to kill without further ado at 10 million souls, roughly 3 million of them children.

Because a nuclear attack would achieve the greatest possible destruction on American soil, there is every reason to think that the terrorists are plotting its execution. The question confronting American policy makers is: Are we prepared to stop this threat before it becomes a terrible reality?

Hal Lindsey expects a Middle East War against Israel this September. I certainly would not rule that out. Peace talks have a way of falling apart because the terrorists do not want peace and they sabotage any deal. Hal thinks Israel will hit Iran before they fire up their reactor. I would think that if they are going to hit the reactor they will do it before nuclear material is in the reactor. That would make a September date kind of late if they want to prevent nuclear fall out on civilians. So I do not think Israel will do anything about their reactor going online. Of course once a war starts for some other reason anything can happen. Israel will also not do anything without informing the U.S. and we are not going to allow a war to start without having at least 3 carrier groups in the area. So when you see ship movements to that end a strike against Iran is much more likely. I think a war is likely soon but I am not sure the timing is known to anyone right now.

The September War

It is worth remembering that it was the Persians who invented chess, and Ahmadinejad seems to be controlling all the pieces. In the first place, Ahmadinejad knows that Israel will attack its reactor the moment that they take it on line. He’s been arming and training Hamas to serve as its proxy in the event of war, to harass the IDF on its flanks. To the north in Lebanon, Ahmadinejad has succeeded in rearming and re-equipping Hezbollah since the Lebanon War in 2006. The Mossad estimates Hezbollah is stronger now than it was before Israel invaded. Hezbollah has succeeded, for all intents and purposes, in taking over the Lebanese government.

Hamas controls all of the Gaza Strip. Mahmoud Abbas’ Palestinian Authority barely has a handle on the West Bank – and in any event, would turn on Israel the second the opportunity presented itself.

Syria’s insistence on the return of the Golan Heights as a precondition for peace is a Trojan Horse – particularly considering the timing. It was only last September that Israel destroyed a Syrian nuclear reactor that was only weeks from being operational. Syria has built one of the most formidable arsenals of missiles and rockets in the region, all of them aimed at Israel. From the Golan Heights, Syria would control much of northern Israel, as it did prior to losing the Golan to Israel in the Six Days War.

Israel is therefore surrounded with Hezbollah and Syria to the north, Hamas on both flanks, with al-Qaida sympathizers flooding in through Egypt and Jordan. Everything is in place for war except the pretext to start things off.

Starting up a nuclear reactor will do nicely.

This is a good interview of Potkin Azarmehr an Iranian pro-democracy activist. He does not see an attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities as being a big problem with the majority of the Iranian people but he warns that we must not leave the Mullahs in power if we do so.

ROSENBERG: Well I think eventually Rome will be the center of the E.U. How is that going to happen? I don`t know. There is a lot I don`t know. The point is the Bible laid out some details it doesn`t give us all the details.

BECK: Is it true that we — we haven`t bombed parts of Iraq because of, not only the historic significance, but the biblical significance of — of Babylon?

ROSENBERG: Babylon itself, Babylon is a province, it`s also a city, but there is no one living in current Babylon, it`s being reconstructed. There is no question American forces were very careful about bombing in the area. However there was some archaeological destruction as troops were coming in and out of there. That was a problem.

But I interviewed for my previous book, “Epicenter,” a nonfiction book, “Epicenter,” you and I have talked about it. I interviewed the chief economic adviser to the current prime minister of Iraq and I said “The New York Times” and others are reporting you have a plan to rebuild Babylon as a cultural epicenter. He said absolutely. He walked me through the plans they have to rebuild the city. They believe cultural tourism in Iraq will be the second largest money producer after oil, two, three, four, five years down the road.

Now, right now it`s almost impossible to imagine people going on a vacation to Iraq.

BECK: Oh, no. Come to Iraq. I mean .

ROSENBERG: I just went there. My family thought I was crazy, president of Crazytown. But look, the Bible says that is what will happen. People will come from all over the world. Revelation describes all the merchants of the earth are coming to Iraq. That`s not that far off I don`t think.

There is increasing talk again about a U.S. strike on Iran. I think it cannot be discounted because of Iran’s increased nuclear development, the preparation for war going on in Syria, and Iran’s arming of the Hamas and Hezbollah with thousands of missiles. A Middle East war in late spring or early summer on the 60th year of Israel’s existence is more likely than not.

Contrary to some claims that the Bush administration will allow diplomacy to handle Iran’s nuclear weapons program, a leading member of America’s Jewish community tells Newsmax that a military strike is not only on the table – but likely.

“Israel is preparing for heavy casualties,” the source said, suggesting that although Israel will not take part in the strike, it is expecting to be the target of Iranian retribution.

“Look at Dick Cheney’s recent trip through the Middle East as preparation for the U.S. attack,” the source said.

Cheney’s hastily arranged 9-day visit to the region, which began on March 16, included stops in Israel, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Oman, Turkey, and the Palestinian territories.

Tensions in the region have been rising.

He makes a good point. What is very likely to happen is what we are beginning to see now. The Shiites will flare up the war in Iraq again in order to further frustrate the American people on supporting the war in Iraq and that of course will bring defeat to John McCain. Then while we are running out of Iraq with our tails tucked between our legs in the first two years of the next administration. Iran will be making nukes. Unless Israel takes unilateral action nobody in the next administration will stop Iran from developing nuclear weapons.

There is one wild card that is increasing likely if Iran is backing the Shiite insurrections in Iraq. Bush might decide to take out Iran’s capabilities before the election to give John McCain the election. If the flare up continues with Iranian backing that option could be implemented right after the Republican convention.

Presidents and Persia

Soon the U.S. will choose its next president. The prevailing holy grail of understanding is that the only vote that matters is the vote of the American people. Persia (Iran), however, may have a dog in the fight as U.S. policy in Iraq will greatly affect U.S. policy in Iran.To think that Iran would support another “Bushie” (John McCain) in the White House is a ridiculous assumption. Iran, a predominately Shia state as is Iraq (100 million plus Shiites combined), ultimately desires a Shia super-state. It has everything to gain and nothing to lose by destroying McCain’s bragging rights. To do this would require an Iranian surge of IEDs (improvised explosive devices) in Iraq and the 60,000 pro-Iranian Mahdi army death squads to deliver a few hundred U.S. body bags. It appears this fall will be a bloody one as Iran attempts to achieve a goal similar to the one it achieved during President Jimmy Carter’s last days of the 1980 election campaign.

The person gives a pretty good case why there will be no peace agreement until some things change in the Middle East. I think the Islamic terrorists will have to be defeated worldwide before any peace agreement is realistic. That means dealing with the instigators in Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan,Syria and in parts of Africa.

The facts on the ground seem to abundantly proclaim that any final U.S.-backed peace accord that helps create a Palestinian state inside Judaism’s biblical heartland and the Gaza Strip will not be achievable, let alone viable, until the Tehran-led jihad axis of evil is dealt with. Not a few Israelis hope that is the real reason for the president’s current Middle East jaunt - preparing the ground for a military assault on nuclear-arming Iran, which would certainly help render its regional Muslim surrogates mere toothless fairies.

I don’t think I buy Hal Lindsey’s conjecture but you might find it interesting.

Neither the US or Israel is going to allow Iran to get anywhere near enough nuclear material to make a bomb. Therefore a strike on Iran is almost certain in months.

Asia Times Online :: Middle East News - Attack Iran and you attack Russia: “A high-level diplomatic source in Tehran tells Asia Times Online that essentially Putin and the Supreme Leader have agreed on a plan to nullify the George W Bush administration’s relentless drive towards launching a preemptive attack, perhaps a tactical nuclear strike, against Iran. An American attack on Iran will be viewed by Moscow as an attack on Russia. “

I don’t think that plan can be implemented by Russia yet, but if the US waits too long to take out Iran’s capabilities, within a few years they could have a regional defense pact with Russia that says just that.

If the West delays taking out Iran’s nuclear facilities much longer they will be under the protection of Russia under a defense alliance. That will set the stage for the Russian/Gog invasion of Ezekiel 38 and 39. Gog comes with Iran. Of course if we take out Iran’s nuclear facilities the same thing will happen but then Iran will not be able to trigger World War III for a decade or so. It seems to me that Russia does not now have the capability to fulfill the Gog prophecy. However, with the rapid militarization planed by Putin of Russia, she will have that capability in 10 to 20 years. Therefore, I expect the immediate nuclear threat from Iran to be stopped very soon, allowing for a temporary peace agreement in the region and making the Gog war, probably triggered by Iran, to be 10 to 20 years in the future.

You would think that with the United States and Israel contemplating military action against Iran that All-mad would tone down the rhetoric. Instead, we see the nut case and his followers ranting like total loons about the destruction of Israel. Therefore, there should be little doubt that Iran is going to be bombed soon. They have left no other sane course of action.

I would think that is will likely occur this fall. We have now made it clear to everyone that we have separated the Revolutionary guard of Iran from the Iran’s military by calling the Revolutionary guard a terrorist outfit. I think we will want to do two things in the air strikes that are coming. We will want to weaken the Revolutionary guard so that a coup can take place against the mullahs with support by the regular army and to set back any nuclear capability a decade. I think limiting military action to these two objectives will not severely upset the Iranian people who are totally fed up with Islamic rule and the failing economy.

It looks like we have convinced Pakistan to take action against the terrorist strongholds. We will now have to help them fight the war. The war on terrorism really is a world war but if we do not fight it we will soon be in an even much more deadly larger world war. Iraq, Syria, Iran and the terrorist territories in Pakistan need to be dealt with now.

GOLAN HEIGHTS – If Israel doesn’t vacate the strategic Golan Heights before September, Syrian guerillas will immediately launch “resistance operations” against the Golan’s Jewish communities, a top official from Syrian President Bashar Assad’s Baath party told WND.
The Baath official, who spoke on condition his name be withheld, said Damascus is preparing for anticipated Israeli retaliation following Syrian guerilla attacks and for a larger war with the Jewish state in August or September.

He claimed Syria has “proof” Israel is also readying for a war.
“We hear about special Israeli trainings to take Damascus. We see that Israel is re-establishing bases of the Israeli army in the Golan that are unusual and not needed except for war. We believe the Israeli government has an interest in confronting Syria to rehabilitate its image of losing to Hezbollah,” he said.

According to security officials, recent U.S. intelligence estimates also predict a strong possibility of war between Israel and Syria in the coming months.
Dennis Ross, the American Middle East envoy under the Clinton administration, said this weekend in an interview with Ynetnews, a leading Israeli news website, he thinks “there is a risk of war” between Israel and Syria this summer.
“Nobody has made any decision (about going to war), but the Syrians are positioning themselves for war,” said Ross.

I also expect a war on or before Rosh Hashanha (Sept 12- 13). It is forty years from the six day war in 1967 when Israel conquered these lands. I think prophecy students should be aware that a forty year cycle event is more likely than not. If Syria uses WMD it could mark the fulfillment of the end of Damascus prophecy that has never yet been fulfilled. Of course, any war with Iran or Syria would end up with a war on both. This could set the stage for a Period of peace in Israel that Ezekiel 38 and 39 indicates will be in place before the Gog invasion.

I have no biblical proof for this but I think starting in Septemeber we could see a few years of war that crushes Islamo-Fascism followed by a decade or three of regional peace, reasonable energy prices, the rise of the EU, Babylon, Russia and China followed by the Ezekiel war, the biblical Antichrist and the Revelation judgments. Stay alert.
