Man creating life by trial and error

No Gravatar

Not only are they working on mixing the genetics of species to create new species they are planning to create new lifeforms altogether. Thing about it. Any life could be created by design. How about if someone created a non lethal insect like creatures that flies and stings people until the designer obtains total submission and control over the earth (Rev 9:3-11)?

Do we really want to trust man not to screw up creation through his trial and error experiments and also not think they he will not eventually use his knowledge for weapons of war and control?

Warning over dangers posed by creation of ‘artificial life’ - Scotsman.com News

AN EMERGING field of science which is being used to create artificial life is at risk of damaging the ecosystem and being abused by terrorists, according to a new report.
Scientists have high hopes for a new technique called synthetic biology, which involves engineering organisms so they work in new ways that do not currently exist in nature.

What is synthetic biology?

The creation of artificial biological systems and organisms. This could involve redesigning existing cell chromosomes, or creating a whole new artificial life system.

Has artificial life been created by scientists?

Craig Venter, a controversial DNA researcher involved in the race to decipher the human genetic code, announced last year he had created a synthetic chromosome in the laboratory, christened mycoplasma laboratorium.

The next step will be to insert this into a living bacterial cell. It is expected to take control of the cell, in effect becoming a new life form.

What are the concerns?

Opponents to synthetic biology say that artificial microbes may have dangerous consequences, such as escaping into the environment or being used to manufacture bioweapons.

Other concerns are that commercial monopolies could be created in areas such as the development of fuels.

Nano technology may help link up humans with the Antichrist

No Gravatar

I think a direct neural link connection to all Internet data and the Antichrist will be very close to the real mark of the Beast. It looks like man will have that capability by 2030AD

clipped from news.bbc.co.uk
Humans and machines would eventually merge, by means of devices embedded in
people’s bodies to keep them healthy and improve their intelligence, predicted
Mr Kurzweil.”We’ll have intelligent nanobots go into our brains through the capillaries
and interact directly with our biological neurons,” he told BBC News.
The nanobots, he said, would “make us smarter, remember things better and automatically go into full emergent virtual reality environments through the nervous system”.

Are the same errors as in the days of Noah upon us?

No Gravatar

Hal LIndsey sees a connection between the corruption of all flesh in the days of Noah and the genetic engineering of species today. So do I. Jesus did not say it would be like in the days of Noah for nothing. God will not allow man to corrupt His creation with chimeras, clones and transhumanism. Read Hal’s article and also see my article on a related subject of Aliens.

clipped from worldnetdaily.com
According to Genesis 6:1-6, the “sons of God” intermarried with “the
daughters of men” and produced offspring that Genesis calls “giants” and “mighty
men of renown.” Genesis 6:9 records that Noah was found to be a “just” man and
perfect in his generations,” i.e., untainted by the hybrid genes
introduced into the human bloodline. Genesis 6:12 says that by this time, “all
flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.”

God saved Noah and his family alive and destroyed the hybrid population by
sending the Flood.

When asked by His disciples to outline the signs of His return at the end of
the age, Jesus told them, “And as it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be
also in the days of the Son of man” (Luke 17:26).

Is the Singularity and the Rapture the same event?

No Gravatar

I have made the conjecture that the mark of the Beast may have something to do with making man not quite human and that people will take the mark as some great evolutionary step forward for mankind. God says that those who take the mark can no longer be saved. This could be because the Kinsman Redeemer came only to save the Adamic race. If people become transhuman they will no longer qualify.

I do not hear about many buying into the theory that the singularity and the Rapture are the same events. Nevertheless, the article makes some good points and it is thought provoking.

One point that I would like to make is that some do think that man can achieve long life and even immorality in this generation. Bible prophecy does not teach that that this will be achieved in this age or dispensation. Prophecy does imply that it will happen in the Kingdom generation. Since man is attempting to bring about long life before the Kingdom and is on the brink of achieving it we must be very close to that Kingdom and the second coming of Jesus Christ.

Throughout the world, many intellectuals and futurists have noted their belief in the nearness of the singularity, with quite a few predicting it will occur within our generation. Some proponents of the singularity have promised immortality and post-biological bodies for the human race, prompting many adherents to draw parallels between these events and the prophesied rapture of the bible. Lacking a clear understanding of bible prophecy, some of these people have come to believe that the singularity and the rapture are one and the same. However, nothing could be further from the truth. So let’s examine the facts about the singularity and the rapture.

In preparation for the singularity, a new worldwide social/religious movement has emerged: the Transhumanist Movement. Identifying themselves “singularitarians” and “transhumanists,” these people look forward to the singularity with a fervor usually reserved for religious zealots. Many within the movement believe the singularity will lead to the emergence of “post-biological humans” who are able to shed their biological bodies and “upgrade their hardware.” Many believe that by downloading themselves into a network, they will effectively become “immortal.” True believers have modified their diets, exercise routines, and entire lifestyle in an effort to increase the likelihood of living to witness human reversal of the aging process and eventual human “immortality.”

Commercial brain computer systems are coming

» Commercial brain computer systems are coming Emerging Technology Trends ZDNet.com: “All over the world, systems that directly connect silicon circuits to brains are under development, and some are nearly ready for commercial applications, according to a new report from the World Technology Evaluation Center and announced by a news release of the University of Southern California (USC). Some of the conclusions of this report about brain-computer interfaces (BCIs) are quite surprising. For example, North America researchers focus almost exclusively on invasive BCIs while noninvasive BCI systems are mostly studied in European and Asian labs. If you don’t have enough time to read the 234-page report, please look at my selection of four exciting projects from all over the world.”

The reason I posted this is because I claim the mark of the Beast chip allows a neural link connection to the Internet. The technology to do that obviously is not that far away.

Synthetic DNA on the Brink of Yielding New Life Forms

No Gravatar

Synthetic DNA on the Brink of Yielding New Life Forms: “Now researchers are poised to cross a dramatic barrier: the creation of life forms driven by completely artificial DNA.
Scientists in Maryland have already built the world’s first entirely handcrafted chromosome — a large looping strand of DNA made from scratch in a laboratory, containing all the instructions a microbe needs to live and reproduce.
In the coming year, they hope to transplant it into a cell, where it is expected to ‘boot itself up”

The world is on the verge of creating new life forms that can be deadly.

Is transhumanism a religion?

No Gravatar

Is transhumanism a religion? « parallelnormal: “The promise of eternal life through continuous upgrades obviously satisfies one of the chief needs of religious personalities — an end run around mortality,” my brother, Erik, told me last week. Erik covered a meeting of the World Transhumanist Association at Yale for the Village Voice in 2003. Erik does not share my belief that transhumanism might meet the deifinition of a cult. “But,” he said, “some vulnerable people attracted to it might be ripe for such exploitation.””

The Transhumanists will lead to the Beast of Revelation

No Gravatar

The First Church of Trans-humanism - CWN: “Now if you are a secular humanist, and a philosophical naturalist, as it seems most transhumanists are, you can see why this is such an important and urgent quest. If life ends at the grave, and that’s it, then sure, we may all want to extend this current life by any means possible. But that is the whole problem. Being based on a secular humanist worldview, transhumanism has the whole concept of life and immortality messed up.”

Your going to hear more and more about the Transhuman Movement. There is soon going to be a big push to extend life so that some will believe they will never die. I think the Beast Antichrist will convince people that the kingdom of God is on earth and that by taking the mark they will evolute into a higher life form and live forever in the flesh. This was never God’s design for man. Man must die in the flesh and be born of the Spirit. However, man including most religious people are so tied to their earthly bodies that they will do anything to extend their lives. Perhaps even giving up their eternal souls for the Mark.

Transhumanism will extend human life by any means possible

No Gravatar

Crisis Magazine: “Cryonics. Neural implants. Designer babies. Welcome to the future of transhumanism. This energetic movement, comprising thousands of adherents, actively promotes the enhancement of humans via cybernetics, genetics, medicine, surgery, nanotechnology, and a full panoply of other scientific advancements. This enhancement would, according to Nick Bostrom’s “Transhumanist Declaration,” seek to advocate “the moral right for those who wish to do so to extend their mental and physical (including reproductive) capacities and to improve their control over their own lives. [They] seek personal growth beyond [their] current biological limitations” (see www.transhumanism.org).
This may sound like science fiction, but the philosophy behind the movement—improving or extending human life by whatever means possible—has already taken hold in society. Advances in modern medicine seem to offer us the very Fountain of Youth, and we seem fully prepared to embrace it. But at what cost? “

This is a very good article on where science will take the human species. Will God at some point stop man from altering his own human genetic code? Perhaps it will be as I indicate in my previous posts at the “mark of the Beast”.

Transhumanism is under construction

JS Online: Robo-quandary: “Although many Americans don’t realize it, a major debate is under way over transhumanism - a movement that endorses using new technology to expand the capabilities of the human mind and body.”

This is from the same company that brought us the implantable chip. I said in my article on “Computers and the mark of the Beast economic system” that the mark of the Beast may be a implantable chip that someway alters the human species using the guise of an evolutionary leap forward and/or creates a neural link directly to a next generation Internet. It seems that scientists are now looking toward that end.
