Christians and Patriots ending 2012 with sounds of silence

I think the best way to end the New Year for Christians and Patriots is with a few minutes of Sounds of Silence.  (under “track listings” just click on the left button to hear the song.)

Sounds of Silence, by Simon & Garfunkel

Hello darkness, my old friend,
I’ve come to talk with you again,
Because a vision softly creeping,
Left its seeds while I was sleeping,
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains
Within the sound of silence.

In restless dreams I walk alone
Narrow streets of cobblestone,
‘Neath the halo of a street lamp,
I turned my collar to the cold and damp
When my eyes were stabbed by the flash of a neon light
That split the night
And touched the sound of silence.

And in the naked light I saw
Ten thousand people, maybe more.
People talking without speaking,
People hearing without listening,
People writing songs that voices never share
And no one dared
Disturb the sound of silence.

“Fools” said I,”You do not know
Silence like a cancer grows.
Hear my words that I might teach you,
Take my arms that I might reach you.”
But my words like silent raindrops fell,
And echoed
In the wells of silence

And the people bowed and prayed
To the neon god they made.
And the sign flashed out its warning,
In the words that it was forming.
And the signs said, ‘The words of the prophets are written on the subway walls
And tenement halls.
And whisper’d in the sounds of silence.

Christians and patriots should now observe 60 seconds of silence to reflect upon the damage done to this nation in 2012 through the actions of immoral people.

In this coming new year will the moral people of America finally stand up for God and country or remain in their sounds of silence?

  1. “In this coming new year will the moral people of America finally stand up for God and country or remain in their sounds of silence?”

I rather have my doubts, Don. And even if they/we did, are the numbers there to make a difference? The electoral system in this country is a sham — kept in place to placate the sheeple. What can the “moral people of America” really accomplish at this late stage of decline and decay? All in all, I’m not optimistic.

  2. Doug,

I think we would find that liberals are wimps. If a few percent of perverts and communists can brainwash, kowtow, and make slaves out of most Americans. Just think of what David’s mighty men can do if they use their weapons of warfare and quit trying to get it done through a process that created Ahab’s and Jezebel’s and a government that never has enough control.

All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing. The sounds of silence coming from our churches and patriots is why we are losing this country. Put 10 million occupying patriots in the streets of Washington, restore the Constitution and then clean out the perverted indoctrination systems.

  3. EPHESIANS chap 5.

But by who and how will the sheeple be awakened (The media is owned body and soul by the Evil One and Laodicea is being led by wolves)?

Hard knocks and tribulation, death and destruction? The two great wars brought a semblance of peace back to the world but it is clear the underlying problem was not and could not be addressed, mankind prefers the darkness rather than God’s light.

Laodiceans would find truth in such blogs as this but by their very nature are unlikely to stir themselves.

Also Israel is back in the land and even now events are turning to that time when God will deal directly with his ancient people to graft them back into his root stock. It seems clear the wild branches have almost reached the necessary number to complete the body of Christ and so we wait, redeeming the time because the days are evil.

Does redeeming the time mean to step up to the plate to hit out at the evil, or do we look to God for wisdom and opportunity to meet the needs of our neighbours, not of the world but those with whom we have to do? I ask this as a serious question, a question each of us will have to answer for ourselves.

May God give to us, wisdom – and opportunity.

  4. Brian,

This is really about America, not the rest of the world. In America we still retain enough Philadelphia Christians and Constitutional Patriots that we could overthrow the globalist “progressives” if we got off of our collective apathy.

Who will awaken them? That we do not know, perhaps no one, or perhaps God in His mercy will bring just enough judgment on America to raise up such men.

We really do not know how long it will be to the end. I figure two decades, but will these United States even exist until the end of the decade if good men do nothing? I think not. Also keep in mind that even through the trial for all on earth is near. Those that repent prior to the Rapture will not go through it.

What we should be doing is occupying until He comes. However, if good men do nothing and the nation is run by immoral evil people our future occupation, no matter how brief, will surely be full of persecution.

  5. Too many American Christians are like Lot. We tolerate and ignore evil. Even when a roving band is knocking at the door. As a Massachusetts resident, I see first hand otherwise moral men looking to the bright side of even deeply dark situations. I’m GTFO of Mass, Lord willing. (That’s get the FAMILY out, btw.) Retreat and regroup. That’s how I feel. Let the godless liberals eat the fruit of what they sowed. I don’t believe they will repent. I don’t believe they will learn their lesson. Abraham couldn’t save S&G nor was it God’s intention. But from where ever I move I can use the liberal’s self destruction as lesson for my sons. And that’s the seed that can preserve America.

  6. I for one will not go down without speaking my mind. I worked in an office before Christmas which had Muslims. As those of us were wishing each other Merry Christmas we turned to our friends and wished them nice holidays. They became sullen, insulted and let us know somberly that they didn’t believe so I said ” I know” but I do and I believe in joy and the spirit of giving. They walked away. They wanted to turn it into a “quiet the Christian” moment and I didn’t let it happen. I also made the comment, since they are from Somalia that this was a great country where everyone is tolerated and we take joy in that freedom. They were completely turned off. I am sure I am not liked there or welcome but I don’t care. If I can’t speak my mind in liberty what is the use of being there? I need a job but not one that is oppressive and certainly not when they need me like I need them and yet treat me that way. It is a game of power and I know who holds the ultimate power so I will trust in Him. Perhaps I went to far but I won’t have my feeling hidden in my own country with my own like minded friends. If they can’t learn to smile, like I always wish my Jewish friends happy Chaunaka and mean it, then they have the problem, not I. I feel the same way about guns, gov’t spying and politics. People are offended but they never consider I am offended as well. They expect me to bow to them but never the other way around. I just don’t do it anymore. It makes me paranoid at times and we all understand why but once again, I know the ultimate ruler is watching over me and if I am to suffer in His name then so be it. I would love to say I don’t care but sometimes we have to get out our comfort zones. I believe Moriarty said “commercialism” keeps us quiet. Perhaps it is time to look that over and decide how not to sell our souls. We are all different but if we don’t rejoice in diversity and celebrate the freedom to be ourselves what is the point?

  7. Julie,

The latest poll said people in the US claim to be 77 percent Christian and .6 percent Muslims. To appease this tiny minority we should change all of our customs. That is nuts.

  8. great job julie for standing up for christ, those brainwashed masses will one day learn the truth when they stand before christ. i can’t wait to see the disbelief in their faces on that holy day.

  9. Hi Don,

I have been going through an exhaustive study in Isaiah lately. I have also been reading through the Old Testament. I truly believe that while I cannot personally do much to change the immoral state of the nation, there are things the true body of Christ can and should be doing… Prayer, sharing the gospel, ministering to others… Twelve Disciples changed the known world through the power of the Holy Spirit. Regardless of what happens, we worship a powerful God who is the “star breather”… We are only here temporarily, this is not our home. I wonder how many Christians are in prayer for the repentance and movement of God within our government leaders, our local churches, or the lost next door? I only know that regardless of what happens going forward, my trust is in the Lord. 🙂 Thanks for your articles, they are a reminder of how serious our walk with the Lord needs to be.

  10. Hi Don,

If your time frame is correct it is to be hoped that “God in His mercy WILL bring just enough judgment on America to raise up such men”. This is a very sincere prayer as the alternative will be as you say, an escalating evil and subsequent persecution. I agree.

The nations did have a reprieve after WWII so hard knocks and tribulation do have the capacity to bring about a reprieve and I do pray for the freedom loving people of your country.

Over the last years I have come to understand a little of the principles behind your comment “Constitutional Patriots”. Your nation was founded by believers escaping religious tyranny and its motto became ‘For God and country’ (your constitution obviously reflects that), ours was a penal colony developing into a strong and robust democracy but with the motto ‘For King and country’.

The difference is major but only to those who love God. Australians generally are laid back and will rise up only when kicked. At the present hour we are not being kicked hard enough.

I believe strongly in fighting for the freedom of one’s nation; I guess the only difference here is the source of the threat to that freedom. You are facing the destruction of your freedoms from internal enemies; Australians generally have yet to even perceive of such a threat let alone think of combating it.

Because the ownership of guns here is regulated by Government, from my view the only means to protect our freedoms from such enemies (and they are here) is at the ballot box, or a national repentance, and we all know how improbable that is.

It may be both our countries are facing a common enemy – apathy.

  11. Brian,

The whole world is becoming a penal colony administrated by control freaks. Constitutional and Christ loving Americans can still stop the statist take over of America in its tracks. However, they are going to have to get every bit as radical as the liberals that bullied and brainwashed the sheeple into accepting big government with its godless humanism and collectivism.

  12. America is our Fathers, the Lord God Almighty’s chosen Nation.
Matthew 21:43 Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.

John 15:7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will , and it shall be done unto you.

I ask now that the Lord God Almighty, our Heavenly Father,by the power of His precious Holy Spirit,in His Sons Name, our Lord and Savour Jesus Christ ,cast out the filth and the perversions and the demonic entities that have invaded our Christian Nation America, to never come against our borders for ever more!

In Jesus’s precious Holy Heavenly name

    Amen

1John 4:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

    Peace be unto you

  13. I am posting this only because – The Truth, gives us a perfect example of unfounded claims about America and examples of how not to apply scripture and of how not to pray. I guess he thinks his prayer will be answered because he asked it in Jesus name. However, the prayer is contrary to the revealed word of God and it cannot happen.

His heart might be in the right place, but I suggest “The Truth” learn the truth from the Bible rather than from the presumptuous NAR and Word of Faith Dominion Theology heretics that he apparently is following.

  14. Hello Don,

The “truth” post was rather confusing. This dominion theology stuff is quite dangerous..

  15. Hi Truth, I understand where you are coming from but Biblicly there are some problems. Israel is actually God’s chosen nation. I also feel you are commanding Jesus to act on your words as a right and I have to say that Jesus commands us and does things in His own will and time. We are to pray for our leaders whom would not have been elected without Him and we are to follow the laws of the land, period. These I know are in the Bible. I am sure everyone else here could add more as they are more knowledgeable than I. I never knew the word dominion theology until I came here but I do know that God commands, not man. This country is great because we are free to worship and we have laws that assure us of God given right. Now we have a dominion gov’t so to speak that is going to decide what our God given rights are and act accordingly. We are fighting man, satan and bad religious beliefs not founded in the Bible. This is what scares us all most.

A thanks to Jake for the support. I come here and read the Bible because I need that most. Acting on faith is easy if there is not confrontation but that is where we are headed so I’m trying to get my courage up so thanks.

  16. Julie,

I would just add that we first follow the laws of God. If they conflict with the laws of human government we should not obey them. Now you know why godless tyrannical governments persecute Christians.

  17. Yes, God’s laws always come first and in our constitution is clearly stated we have certain unalienable rights and we pray our leaders will do the right thing but if we have someone who decides he is bigger than God and therefore can regulate our God given inalienable rights I say we have a case to fight. I guess my point was that man does not command God according to the rights he has given us, liberty, free will and rules to live by socially ie ten commandments and loving they neighbor, and that is what Truth is doing and also what demoncrats in the house and senate are trying to do. God commands how we are to live and our constitution was set up according to those rules, our judicial system is based on those rules and man shouldn’t mess with them. I’ve got a T-shirt Don, it say gun control works just ask and then pics of Mao, Stalin and Hitler. I am glad you are keeping me straight on this but now that I know what Dominion theology is it makes my blood boil like socialists. Everybody wants to change or rule human nature and God gave us our nature’s and free will, plain and simple. We can protect ourselves and we should run the gov’t according to the laws, not the other way around. I hope Truth understands that as soon as man begins to command God on rights we all get into trouble.

  18. Hi Don, I looked up David Hunt and he is a great teacher! Lots of info. Ended the evening watching a video on the Berean Call website done in 2011 by an Englishman, Wilkinson, he was speaking of the movement of Christ as a Palestinian and how the World Council of Churches was vested in befriending the Muslim Palestinians and making peace with them for Israel. Burge, Sizer and other names, a Vicar Wright. It blew my mind. I do remember the “divest” in Israel movement in the 90’s but I was busy raising kids and not into the world or politics. Unbelievable what they are preaching and trying to do. Calvinists, all of them. I guess they forgot that Calvinists killed many Christians as well. This is dominion theology on juice for sure. They call it Palestinian Liberation Theology, sounds vaguely familiar and certainly not Christian. For Muslims, if I understand right, Jesus was just another prophet, married with kids and will return as such. Just wondering if you’d read any of this and had anything to correct or add.

  19. HI Julie,

Dave Hunt usually gets it right. The Word Council of Churches is made up of liberals representing world collectivism instead of Christianity. I would not broad brush Calvinists, most Christians believe at least some of the points of Calvinism. I can’t speak about a video I have not seen and it seems to be off the post topic.
