Mass murderers, psychos, guns, and Liberal enablers and disablers

The response to the mass murders in Arizona proves how low the Left will go to try to gain political advantage. For days they were blaming the Tea Party and conservative talk shows for inciting Jared Loughner into mass murder without having one shred of evidence that there was any connection at all. The slander against people on the Right from these people would have been called criminal hate speech had anything like this libelous venom come against the Left.

It is now well known that Loughner was not a conservative, in fact, most of his views would put him on the Left. He did not watch TV and did not listen to talk radio so no connection can be make to any talk show host. The main connection to Congresswoman Gifford seems to be that he asked her a question four years ago and he did not get what he thought was a fitting response.

The known facts are that Loughner was a drug abuser and either he became mentally ill due to his drug use or his mental illness was the reason why he used mind altering hallucinogenic drugs like Salvia Divinorum. It is also likely that both mental illness and his on going drug use played a part in his psychosis. I am no psychiatrist but from what I read about Loughner the man apparently fits the classic description of a paranoid schizophrenic.

So there was no connection at all to the Tea Party or any talk radio host like the Liberals were so brash to claim all over the airwaves and Internet. If there is any blame to go around other than blaming Loughner himself or his disease, the blame should go to his parents and the educational system that did not get him psychiatric help and/or the progressive laws that were passed that keep psychos not getting treatment out of mental hospitals.

Now that the liberals cannot blame the Right for inciting this shooting they blame those supporting the 2nd amendment of the Constitution that gives Americans the right to have firearms. The anti gun people know if they wait long enough for something like this to happen, it will. Then they can try to restrict American gun rights by pushing a gun bill in the name of the victims as some liberal act of compassion.

They have flat out said before this happened, that they are only waiting for the right time to present these gun control bills and now… surprise surprise, they are rolling them out. It might sound mean to you but I personally have little doubt that some of these liberals are now hoping for another shooting to help them achieve their end. That just happens to be the way some of these Marxists think. The end justifies the means. For the sake of the many a few need to be sacrificed.

What are the real facts about murders and guns? Many would have you think that the United States with our 2nd Amendment gun rights is the country that has the highest murder rate in the world. That simply is not the case. The United States murder rates is about average in the world. The United States has 5 murders per 100,000 people and that murder rate has been falling for decades. The highest murder rates in the world are over ten times higher than the United States and they are now occurring in Central America. The Caribbean, Mexico, Brazil and most of northern South America has murder rates three to ten times higher than the United States and they generally also have very restrictive gun laws.

There does not seem to be a connection to murder and gun laws anywhere. People in nations like Israel and Switzerland have guns in the hands of almost everyone and yet they have extremely low murder rates. On the other hand, nations like Norway and Germany have very restrictive gun laws and they also have low murder rate. The only reliable correlation to the amount of murder in a nation seems to be the violent organized gang activity, genocide, and nations full of drug and alcohol abusers.

If one stays out of of the drug gang controlled inner cities of America the murder rate is as low as almost anywhere in the world. So the problem is not the guns, it is the evil people that often murder with guns. These criminals will get guns if they want them because criminals will not obey gun laws. Even when evil people do not have access to guns they will use other weapons. Millions were murdered with machetes in Africa last decade. All most gun laws do is prevent law abiding citizens access to guns so they can be preyed upon by predators with weapons.

There were about 15,000  murders in the United States last year but about 1.2 million abortions were performed. Arguably, mothers enabled the assassination of 80 times more humans than guns in the United States in 2010. Yet, liberals think taking away guns will stop mass murder in the United States?

Tom Brokaw, referring to the laws in Arizona that allow people to carry guns said, “he would be a little nervous going into a bar or restaurant in Arizona”. Oh really? Then stay in New York and Montana where you live but don’t tell those people in Montana that you do not like their own guns laws or you might get a little nervous when you go into a bar there as well.

I have lived in Arizona for decades. I have yet to see any gun play in the bars and restaurants there. I do not even recall hearing about any shootings in bars and restaurants in recent decades. Even in Tombstone Arizona Watt Earp and Doc Holiday no longer allow gun play in their bars. Believe it or not, Arizona is not the wild wild west anymore, that is now California. Check out the gay pride parades. Anything goes.

I am sure there must have been some shootings outside of bars in Arizona, but I suggest that Tom Brokaw abstain from hanging around these biker bars and the more seedy red neck bars where a shooting is likely to occur someday. In other states certain bikers and red necks will not be abiding by any gun laws either, so Brokaw might get nervous about going to those bars in any state.

Tom would also have good reason to be nervous if he went where some of the “home boys” hang out in Arizona. Some there just don’t like Gringos. They might cut you up pretty good if you even look at them like a reporter. We can thank Brokaw and his liberal media buddies for supporting all the illegal “home boys” of Arizona. So Brokaw can thank himself and all liberals for being scared when he walks into one of these kind of bars in Arizona.

I agree that we should not need weapons in a perfect world but our world is certainly not heading in that direction. The world has become less free even in the 21st century. Tyrants are gaining total control over people in many nations. We have seen over and over again how tyrants take power. They first take the weapons from the common people and then the police forces have all the weapons and they oppress the people. There are dozens of examples on earth right now.

When tyrants take over and have all the guns it never leads to good. This is the real reason why we have the Second Amendment in our Constitution. It was not put there to allow us to hunt and to protect ourselves from the bad guys, that was a given in those days. It was really put there to protect us from foreign enemies and domestic tyrants that might one day try to take over our nation. (Its a good thing for the budding tyrants in our nation that people are mostly apathetic these days. They would not have survived the early days of our nation.)

If the liberals get their way and they disarm the people, tyranny will follow like night after day. I think the liberals that want to take away our guns know that they cannot do this all in one shot without starting a civil war. Therefore, they use every mass murder as an excuse to do it in stages. First do away with semiautomatic weapons, then label half the nation mentally ill so they cannot get a gun, then tax ammo to make it too expensive, then take away hand guns, then have people lock long rifles up under central control, etc. We must guard against being boiled alive like a frog. We better know when its time to jump out of hot tub.

I do not think Peter King and those jumping on the arms control bandwagon will get very far with this congress so Obama was wise not to put his hat in that ring with those people, but don’t be deceived by his moderate speach. Obama does not want any of us Americans to be clinging to our guns and religion. We are supposed to cling to him and the State.

Obama is quite aware that we are only one Supreme Court justice away from the redefining of the Second Amendment. You can bet your life that Obama will be appointing one or more Supreme Court justices in his second term that will want to take away your guns if he is reelected. So no matter how much Obama moves to the center before this election, he will move to take away your guns through the courts if he is reelected. That will be the time to jump out of the pot. After that your only choice may be letting your family become the victim of criminals, psychos, and government tyranny or loading your guns on some inevitable Kristal Night.

  1. Good points as usual. But that is the problem with America in 2011. Most people are knee-jerkers and reactionaries where their immediate emotions rule their lives, decision making processes and worldviews.

It doesn’t matter to them that Mr Loughner’s favorite books were “Mein Kampf”, “The Communist Manifesto”, and “The Will To Power” by Nietzsche.

  2. Don,

I have been trying to obtain a good definition of the Holy Spirit in Oneness Pentecostal theology. Those to whom I have asked the question (mainly UPC members) do not seem to have a clear understanding, themselves.

    Can you help out,

BTW, Frank, I was not aware of Mr. Loughner’s reading list. Thanks for the information. I think Don usually hands out a bundle of $50s for good posts such as yours,

  3. My problem is that I feel powerless to do anything other than pray. And, it’s not like I would be praying for things that are otherwise orthogonal to prophecy (and, hence, God’s will). About all that matters is to put it out there, confront the lost, and win souls by seeding or harvesting. Otherwise, it’s the whole “I told you so” thing.

Take a look at Illinois as one prime example – when you get right down to it, the people are to blame. It’s their fault. I read that the state can’t pay for various charities et al — well, what about all those people getting money for nothing (i.e., entitlements). They’ve got nothing to do, they can pay back the state (for nothing). Stop blaming the economy. Dr. Dino had a great statement: God has it’s own welfare plan: you don’t work, you don’t eat. Entitlements are detrimental to society. Oh sure, some may argue specific cases, but all that’s been accomplished is to create a society of spoiled rotten brats.

  4. This is what they believe.

    The Father
The title of God in parental relationship.

    The Son of God
Oneness believers consider that God was incarnate in human flesh as Jesus of Nazareth.[2] They use the biblical term “Son of God” rather than the extra-biblical “God the Son”. “Son” refers to either the humanity and the deity of Jesus together, or to the humanity alone, but never to the deity alone.[6]

    The Holy Spirit
The title of God in activity as Spirit.

So the Holy Spirit is God in his spiritual form. They obvious think that in the Bible God talks to Himself.

  5. Craig, That might be true but that is our system now. If you suddenly try to do away with entitlements you will have the worst civil war this nation has every seen and that is saying a lot.

Changes will have to come gradually and that can only come if people start taking care of their own rather than expecting government to do it for them. The fact that the last generation Aborted 50 million babies that might of supported people in their old age kind of makes their support very difficult if not impossible. There are always consequences to sin.

  6. Very good point regarding murder and abortions. Unregenerate humans (that includes all the tares in the churches) are a very dangerous breed. Always have been, always will be. We forget and have higher expectations about our fellow man than we should. One of our tasks is to continue being an overcomer (denying self, allowing His life to motivate and control us through the Spirit) in this increasingly dangerous environment called the world. Our tendancy is to try to protect what is ours, when in reality nothing is ours. Maranatha!

  7. Don, I don’t remember if I mentioned it to you, but I am a Police Officer in Chicago. I regularly debate other fellow Officers and private citizens about the absolute necessity for carrying a firearm (providing, of course said individual obtained proper instruction and training). I have no qualms whatsoever about an individual excercising his or her RIGHT do do so. Ladies and Gentlemen, in spite of the fact that most people (including myself) who visit this site are generally Bible believing Christians who are awaiting the return of our Lordand Savior….THIS AIN’T THE LAND OF OZ! There are not nor will there ever be enough Police Officers to protect you, and its just going to keep getting darker and darker. Its one thing to die as a maryter for the Lord. At last count I think the average per year is around 175,000+ per Voice of the Maryters. Its another thing to stand by and allow yourself or your loved ones to die needlessly when you could have protected them. All you have to do to reinforce this view is to remember Germany, Russia, China, ad nauseum, ALL confiscated personal firearms and made it illegal to own them. That little trick sure makes it easier to herd the sheep to slaughter, and I honestly believe that exact plan is coming here soon. Frankly, I can’t wait to leave here. Come Lord Jesus!!!

  8. Being a police officer I am sure you are aware of the lag time. We cannot expect the police to protecting our families before the crimes even take place. Even the Supreme Court said the people are responsible for their own self defense not the police.

Also what happens in a national emergency in cities when the police are all dealing with crowd control, looting and riots? What happends when the electrictiy goes out and the communication system fails?

If Liberals think we have no need of self defense from human predators why do they carry a gun againt animal preditors in the wilds of Alaska? Why did David kill ten thousands if he knew God was going to send angels to fight His battles for Him? We have not reached the age when people can beat their swords into plow shares. That will not happen until the Lord returns and removes the evil preditors from the earth.

  9. Hi Don, Excellent points on this topic. The conspiracy theorist inside of me thinks that this whackjob Laughner was a patsy by the “powers that be”, meaning someone instructed this man to do all this. Of course ultimately it was Satan himself who drove this man to do these things. He was demonically possessed without a doubt. Its all too coincidental. The Republicans were set to vote to repeal Obamacare the actual week of the shootings. Then all this was delayed? Of course we know the House would have repealed but it would die in the Senate but it was more of a big blow to his majesty Obama. The other thing is now this revived talk of gun control. None of this is coincidental in my opinion. Then you have the Democrats calling on Republicans to “sit together” during the State of the Union speech. You know why they wanted to do that? Possibly because the Dems lost so many members in the Nov elections.

Then you have Obama’s approval #’s going up after this as well. He made a 30 min speech, why so long during that Memorial. Ronald Reagan spoke about 5 mins after the Shuttle blow up, Clinton spoke 9 mins after Oklahoma City bombing. Obama is in Campaign mode now and he used this. But it does seem planned.

All of what happens surrounding this man Obama is not coincidental.

  10. Don and others,

One other item that is related indirectly.

You mentioned “Frog getting boiled alive”. I get the feeling that we might want to physically leave the USA at some point like the Jews did before the Nazi’s took over. There was a time in Germany when a certain group of Jews had the smarts and wisdom to flee Germany. Then there were the vast majority that did not see it coming and/or denied Hitler was a threat. Something like only 10% at best fled, the others were slaughtered.

My question is, when do we flee this country? If so where do we go? Is this a valid question or do we just trust that the Lord will protect us? It seems sometimes to me that we might want to flee to a country that is less screwed up and less violent but where would that be and is this the time? There will come a time when the its too late to flee, I sense the time is upon us or we have a few years at the most.

Don, if you deem this is off topic let me know. It has been something I have thought a lot about as of late and this topic really brought it back to mind. Anyone want to chime in?

  11. Eric, Obviously you’re not off topic.

Many things are orchestrated toward a end but that does not mean that humans are plotting these things out. God is in total control of the earth believe it or not, but he will give Satan enough rope to hang himself.

Christians in America are not going to become defenseless like the Jews. First, we have God’s favor and he is our defense. Also, we are not going to trust in the the State like the overwhelming agnostic Jews. Next, we are not about to just give up our guns even if the government demands them. Christians are also a much higher percentages then Jews in Germany. There may come a time when Christian may need to relocate for their best welfare but it will be to areas of our country where Christianity still dominates.

Moving to other nations may be like moving from the hot tub to the frying pan.

Really, don’t concern yourself with all these future possibilities. There is enough trouble today. God knows how to take care of His own people. So just trust Him and assemble with His people.

  12. I don’t think there is another country we can flee to. America is unique. I do think there are enough ‘right thinking’ people left that there will be pockets within the country that will be better than others. I would try to figure out where those are and get to one of them.

  13. Don,

sorry if this post does not fit here but your link to your email wouldn’t work for me. In case you hadn’t seen this yet I thought you would be very interested in seeing the World Economic Forum’s recent report on global risks for 2011. 580 world leaders that see 37 global risks, many eminent, really interesting. So much of it seems to support much of what you have been saying in your global assessments. http://www.weforum.org/reports

  14. Hi Jon,

The email did not work because there is no mailto: command in the link. I do not remember if I left that out by mistake or on purpose to limit automatically generated spam. The way it was a person would need to copy the address into the send box of their email client.

I have just changed it and put the mailto: command in front of a link that goes to my email address so now it will automatically bring up the email client that people use and put my email address in the send field. That action might bring me a lot of new automatically generated email spam so we will have to see how it works out.

I cannot get the report viewer in the link you posted to finish a download and I am not sure what report I should be looking at in any case. The reason this viewer does not work for me is because I have very slow dial-up. Any file over a megabyte or two is an exercise in frustration for me to download.

I would think that any thinking person can see that the world has many problems on the horizon that will not be easily resolved. It is not surprising that some world leaders can also see these things.

  15. Don, you say that Christians have the Lord’s favor and that is true. But Eric makes a valid point. I believe, and many others do as well (e.g., David Wilkerson, God rest his soul, Franklin Graham, and Charles Stanley), that the Lord is going to take his hand of protection off of this nation. We, as a nation, are a modern day Sodom & Gomorrah. We are the Church of Laodecia. We as a nation have turned our back on the Lord and his ways. So why should we stay? Was Lot instructed to stay? Was Moses? Even Jesus left where he was not welcomed and advised his apostles to do the same, after brushing off the dust. Real, born-again Christians (who are by far, the minority of “believers”) are not welcome in America. We don’t fit in. So maybe it is time to look to another nation for refuge?

  16. Jim,
I agree,It may come to that but I simply do not know where it would be much better, where would we go? If you figure out let me know.

I think that because this nation is so divided on ideology and Christianity the best outcome might be a political split where Christian conservatives form a union of states and the Godless liberals form their own union of states and reap the consequences. Europe has also departed from God and most of the rest of world never had the true gospel. Even in third world nations that were reached with the Bible most of them now have Christianity mixed with native paganism or hype-Pentecostalism presumption and postmillennialism.

I think America last chance to survive as a nation is who Americans support in the next year and the next election and picking the wrong Republican is not going to help America either. There has to be radical change back to constitutional government and a balanced budget.

  17. Don:

I fear that this nation is going to elect Obama again, which will be our demise. Either because the economy gets better next year or because the Republicans don’t promote a good candidate, like Rick Perry or Chris Christie. However, I also believe, because of what the Lord showed me and others, like David Wilkerson, that we are very close to the start of the 7 year Tribulation. If that is the case, then the decline of America would naturally have to occur in order for a world ruler to emerge; and Obama is just the man to see it through. In other words, it might be divinely ordered that this nation continue to unravel morally, economically, and militarily, in order to usher in a new age when the anti-Christ emerges. I for one, welcome the Tribulation, as it ultimately means the Second Coming and the end of evil forever! I only hope that the Rapture is mid-Trib, as I suspect, and not Post-Trib, or we are ALL in for some really rough times! And when I say rough, I mean times that will make the days of Christians being thrown into the arena with hungry lions look like a picnic!

  18. Jim,

America is likely to go down the tubes before the tribulation. Perry and Christie are Statists globalists they are not going to fix America. The final seven years is not about America or the world it is about Israel and how the nations react toward Israel.

If you welcome the tribulation you might as well welcome death because that is what it will bring to believers at first and most of the world in the end.

The Rapture of true believers is pre-trib. Mid-trib makes no sense at all and post-trib makes a Rapture pointless and does away any literal interpretation of prophetic passages and God’s promise to the Church.

But the point that was brought up is where should Christians now go to live? Not the timing of end time events. So if America is going down the tubes in the next few years where would you suggest Christian exodus to? Stay on point. I am not going to post your end time theology positions here.

  19. Don, I only welcome the Tribulation because it will usher in the the Second Coming followed by the Millennial Reign of Jesus and the eternal destruction of satan and his minions. It has to occur, so why not be ready and anxious for it to occur soon? And as far as not mentioning my end time theology, I will agree to that if you do the same. You certainly did not have to mention your theology in response to mine. And it was a little insulting to label my prediction about a mid-trib Rapture as “making no sense.” No pastor or theologian knows the timing for sure, do they? I don’t claim to know, although I do think that a post-trib Rapture is highly unlikely.

Where to move? Good question. Don’t know if there will be a better place than America, to be honest. I would consider New Zealand or Ireland if I had the opportunity and means to do so. But that is just me.

I agree that Governors Perry and Christie have globalist tendencies, but I have never heard them described as statists. Their philosophy (and mine) seems to be more “least government is the best government.”

  20. To Jim,

I agree with you that in the U.S., Christianity is less and less welcome…and it seems to be having a rolling snowball of rebellion & animosity against it…as the Word Of God said it would be in these last days.

I agree with Don also, where would we go ?
There is no where to go that I know of…even in this decline of the U.S…there is still not a better place to be than the U.S.

Add to that, even if there was another nation to go to…I doubt most Christians could afford the very expensive move to another nation.

Don, I think a divisional union of the states for the lib’non-believers and a union of states for the conservative believers is a terrific idea…but I don’t see it happening in reality.

  21. Jim

Read my commenting policy. This is a premillennial pre-trib Bible prophecy website. If anything is going to be posted within the comments section of this blog that takes away from the imminent return of Christ and misleads people to think otherwise I am going to respond. Almost every futurist Bible prophecy scholar thinks the mid-trib Rapture view has no real merits, so I am not alone on that. Anyway, that is a different topic than what this post is about so we will just leave it there.

One of the problems with people thinking that they can just move to a better country is that there are few better places and most of those places would not allow Americans to move there anyway. For example, New Zealand is not taking most wishing to immigrate there. Also, the government is more liberal and controlling in New Zealand than it is here. Ireland has big problems economically and socially and there are few Christians there. Not to mention that the weather sucks. So I am not seeing any better places to move to yet, other than out of liberal areas of the US.

As for Perry and Christie, anyone can say one thing when they might have aspirations to become President while having done quite the opposite during their political career. Texas has vastly increased the size of government and debt in Texas since Perry was Governor of Texas. There is also the issue of the raids and taking away of children of the Mormon cult for no good reason with no intervention from Perry. The real problem is that the child protective services is out of control as is the law enforcement. Texas already has some of trappings of a police state under the recent governors. There is also Perry’s promotion of the NAU corridor, lack of enforcement of immigration and the borders, the forced vaccinations of teens that he wanted and other such things. I do not know enough about Christie yet to make specific statements, other than to say he could not have got elected in NJ if he was a true conservative. So, what we would have with him as President is not what we constitutional and Christian conservatives think will help this nation recover.

  22. I guess there is no place to go. Canada, Costa Rica, Germany, Holland & Switzerland all pose issues as well. I hope you are right about pre-trib and I am right about the Trib starting soon. I look forward to eternity with Him. As far as a candidate, I don’t see anyone running now as being electable over the “anointed one”, do you?

  23. JIm,

Perhaps nobody can beat the “anointed one” right now but many things can happen in a year. He may even lose his anointing, but even if he does and there is a new leader there is not going to be any easy fix to our problems since it really is a national moral problem.
