Some Pentecostals need to quit acting like stupid children and grow up!

Carla at “More Books and Things” put together a nice set of links about Todd Bentley and what is going on in the loony movement in Lakeland Florida.

My opinion is that Bentley is either a con artist, demon possessed or is mentally ill. Take any selection that works for you. This unbelievable bozo even has a angel named Emma? There are no angels named Emma. Angels are always masculine. So believe me Emma is no angel and Bentley is no spokesman for God. This clod is saying that when he got sucked up to heaven God told him we are hindering God from healing us? Just ask Emma of wonderland, she has a magic mushroom that will clear all this up.

I mean, come on you stupid people how loony are you going to get? This tired healing circus has been going on for many decades and everyone but those specially chosen to be gullible knows that this loony mass hypnotism movement is all about taking the cash out of your wallets and the little sound doctrine you once might have had out of your mind.

I am going to be frank. It is really time that some Pentecostals and Charismatics grew up! It is time to quit looking for messages from God in fleshly experiences and to look for what He said in His Word. You people are getting nuttier than the snake handlers.

Your not only hurting your own walk with God you are a stumbling block to unbelievers and to ungrounded Christians. They look at what you people are doing and they say, if that is Christianity I do not want anything to do with it. Well it ain’t Christianity, it is just con artists using Christian words to make fools out of easy marks…suckers.

The Church has always had wolves in sheep’s clothing that will give people with itchy ears what they want to hear. What do you think the Bible is talking about when it warns that this would occur in the last days? It is talking about what you people are doing. You are fulfilling prophecy by running from con artist to con artist to hear a word that is not from the Lord or to put your hope in these fake healers.

People who call themselves Christians but worship men who display themselves as self anointed idols in the place of God are walking on very dangerous ground.

Pastors, you had better start disciplining those in your congregations that are promoting this nonsense or you will be held accountable. Or maybe you also are part of the promotion problem? If you cannot teach biblical Christianity from your pulpit what are you really doing up there? What do you think Jesus will say to you when you helped your flock get fleeced just so you can act like one of the avant-garde big shots?

After decades of being carried about by every strange new doctrine don’t you think it is time you all grow up!

More Books and Things…: Latest Todd Bentley Things

It was two years ago when I heard a local guy named Todd Bentley being interviewed on a radio station. He told how he got ‘sucked up’ like a vacuum and found himself in a huge stadium in heaven. He’s not sure if he was in his body or out of his body, but he was in a huge football field where an army was playing, and the players were angels and demons. Then God told him that He wants to release or unleash angels of healing but he is waiting for us…waiting for the church to work. He said there’s going to be lots of miracles everywhere and an army of Christians, and we need to make room for the anointing.

So what is this all about? I think we are seeing more than just some so called little supposed charismatic revival down in Florida. What alarms me is how many Christians are getting deceived by these so called signs and wonders, and this ‘spirit’ that is camouflaging itself as the Holy Spirit of God and contagiously spreading around the world like a virus. It’s a sign of the times, that people will believe what they want to believe, and so God will give them over to deception.

  1. Thanks Lauren, that was a really good link that sums it all up pretty good. I think I will do a separate post on that article later today.

  2. I have to say that while your tone seemed abrasive to me at first, I agreed with everything you said! It might be that desperate times call for desperate measures. Jesus called a spade a spade when the situation warranted it, and you certainly did the same. I appreciated your raw honesty. Your message is needed today – Christians are being coddled TO DEATH by liars in the pulpits. Todd Bentley is a false teacher in every way and his followers HATE the people who tell them the truth, no matter what tone they use or how well they reason. “FAithful are the wounds of a friend, but an enemy multiplies kisses.” Prov. 27:6 God bless you.

  3. Thank You Melissa, I wanted to shock Christians to get them to wake up.

I received an unsolicited email today promoting Todd Bentley that said:

“What started for the 32-year-old Canadian as an invitation to speak at a church in Lakeland, Florida, in April 2008, has turned into a massively growing revival that now accommodates 10,000 people on land at the local airport. According to Fresh Fire Ministries, 1.2 million people have watched live streaming broadcasts on the Internet, and more than 140,000 people from at least 40 countries have attended the meetings”.

Can you believe that 1.2 million people have watched this circus act on the Internet alone? Many in the Church show that they are devoid of discernment. If I can even call those that are into this deception the Church at all.

  4. I grew up in a Pentecostal environment. Now thanks to God I’m reformed. My honest opinion I believe Pentecostals are not saved. To much Pride in those camps. They believe they get a hold of the Holy spirit which is God and control him like some force. That’s just blasphemous. Every-time I think of Matthew 7:21-23 I think of Pentecostals and other charismatics. And the only Pentecostals that might be saved are the ignorant few, who are being victimize by these false teachers. Who think that getting the Holy Spirit is about becoming some super Powerful being, like some Jed knight. Instead the real fruits of the spirit. Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. Which what I seen they lack of. They think their spirituality defines them. I’m disgusted.

  5. All being Pentecostal means is that that one believes the gifts of the Spirit are still for today. I am not going to disagree with them on that because there really is very little Biblical foundation to disagree. To say Pentecostals are not saved is broad bushing and wrong. Some certainly are just on a religious or emotional trip but I can say the same thing about non Pentecostals.

Every pentecostal church is different, some I certainly would not set foot in but others like Calvary Chapels I have joined. Not all have the excess that you described but too many do. Many of these people are victims of control freaks but many within want to pretend that they have powers that they do not have. Instead of playing nursery games like children they need to get into the Word and read it in proper context. All should beware of perverts that twist the scriptures for their own gain.
