Franklin Graham gives the gospel with material aid rather than waste God’s resources

No Gravatar

I read an interesting article by Paul Proctor . I am not sure I agree with everything Paul said in his article but I do agree with much of it. The most interesting part of the article is what Franklin Graham said in “The Gathering interview”.

Franklin Graham is someone I highly respect he has been working in the mission field helping people in physical need for a long time and he always brings the gospel of Jesus Christ along with any material aid. That is in stark contrast to those Christian organizations that are working with world organizations to bring aid to the poor and needy but do not present the gospel of Jesus Christ.

If you remember, Franklin Graham is also the one who took a lot of heat in the news for telling the truth that the religion of Islam is evil and he still says the same thing. I am sure some will not like what Graham says here as well.

Here are a couple of excepts from the Franklin Graham Interview.

Graham: well if you walk around this hotel, probably ninety percent of the people in this hotel are going to go to Hell: the person serving you, the other hotel guests… so there is an urgency. It’s life or death. It’s Heaven or Hell. …

Many people have lost a lot of money investing in the stock market. Some people lost everything. …I look at investment opportunities related to how to win people to Christ – how a person can invest in such a way [not in regards to] financial return, but how to win people to Christ. There’s only one commandment Jesus gave his disciples, that is: Go into the world and make disciples of all nations. It doesn’t say anything about going into the world to create a Christian culture. It says, “Go and make disciples of all nations.”

We live now in a culture that is anti-Christ. The spirit of anti-Christ is here today. It’s in our government, it’s in Europe, it’s in Asia, it’s in the Arab world, and it’s in China. …The spirit of anti-Christ has permeated the world today. So, how much longer until the anti-Christ himself appears on the world stage? I don’t know. But it’s urgent. We have the opportunity to invest right now in the souls of men and women. That is what’s important.

TG: To what extent do you think Christians should be involved in helping to usher in the kingdom of Heaven now, on Earth? Should we be trying to redeem our culture?

Graham: First of all, the Bible didn’t tell me to do that. I can’t Christianize this culture. The god of this world is Satan – this is his culture. He is the god of this age. I’m to preach the gospel. …. God is calling a people for Himself. I don’t know whom He’s calling, I just have to be faithful and preach.

TG: As you travel the world as president of both the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and Samaritan’s Purse, what is the main thing you’re hoping to accomplish? How do you want to leave your mark?

Graham: I want to preach the gospel. That’s the main thing. I can feed people all day long. They’ll be a line tomorrow that wants to get fed again. I can provide medicine, hospitals and clinics around the world. There can be tornadoes and earthquakes and we can respond and do all kinds of good work, which is important to do. But if I have not presented the gospel, than I have wasted every opportunity and have squandered my resources. I think for every believer, if you’re not using what God gives you to win people to Christ, you’re squandering His resources.

Missions today means sending somebody for two weeks. It’s going out and staying for a month and then coming back to talk about it at a cocktail party. That’s missions today. But I’m talking about somebody who will give their life to go to a country and absorb themselves into the country – to get to know the culture, the language, and to give their life to that nation for the sake of the cross. We’re not raising missionaries like that or challenging young people like that. …There’s a great need not just around the world, but right here at home to train up another army of young men and women who will go into the world to take the gospel to another generation.

TG: How do we do that?

Graham: Revival. We need revival. Our churches are dead. You have liberalism now that has crept into mainstream evangelicalism. That’s scary.

Full Graham Interview

I just might add that I also think many Christian social aid organizations are squandering their opportunities and wasting the resources given to them by God. The gospel should always be presented with material aid from the Church.

One of the reasons why we do not have full time missionaries is that few people and churches support them. Missionaries that are even associated with well known missionary names have to takes months out of the mission field to raise their own support. Many missionary minded people simply cannot go to the mission field only because they could not raise the required amount of money.

As for those one or two week missionary trips that Franklin mentioned. The people going also have to raise the money to pay for them but far too often people use the trips for some exotic excursion and sometimes tack it unto a personal trip so they can take a tax break on the airfare.

I think the trips where a group from a church goes to third world nations to build a small building hardly qualifies as missionary work. They are going to socialize or boast about what they did or appease their religious self guilt quota. If the people taking these kinds of “mission trips” really cared they could just sent the money to the church that they are supposedly helping and the unemployed natives would have jobs and a mission complex could be built with the money instead of just one small building. It never made sense to me for a bunch of rich Americans to go down to a third world nation like Hatti to build a church building for them when everyone in Hatti can’t find work. It seems the richer the people in our churches the more they want to do manual labor for third world natives instead of providing the funds so the natives can do the work themselves.

It is worth noting that Franklin Graham is also one of the relatively few that are aware of the end times that we live in. He obviously thinks that since the spirit of anti-Christ is now everywhere that this also means the conditions for the rise of the Antichrist figure of Bible prophecy is also very near. The spirit of anti-Christ is even in many of the evangelical churches.

I do hope Christian’s will support Samaritans Purse, it is a first class Christian outfit with a first class astute Christian leader in charge.

Rick Warren the said Billy Graham of world socialism and religious pluralism brings in harlotry and the Beast

No Gravatar

Its enough to want to make any true missionary of the gospel of Jesus Christ puke. Religious pluralism and world socialism is Rick Warren’s answer for the world not Jesus Christ.

Most “Christians” in this country just do not get it because I am not sure they understand the gospel of Jesus Christ themselves. Christians are told to give the gospel to the whole world so they can die to the bondage of this world and live for Jesus Christ. Instead, people like Rick Warren tell Christians to join with world demonic religions so they can be kept in religious bondage.

This is the number one critical issue in Christianity today. Many who identify themselves as Christians have drank the post-modern pluralistic pragmatic relativism Kool-Aid. They have actually become part of the harlot woman that rides the Beast into power. Notice how subtly the Harlot rides in with human good works but she denies that there is only one Lord. That is why God calls her a Harlot. She played the whore with all the religious of the world to bring in the Beast who will then turn on her and devour her.

Rick Warren=CFR globalism, Religious pluralism=one world harlot religion, Socialism=mans own efforts.

It is time to wake up!

This is not coming from God. That is why those who do not know Jesus Christ so easily embrace Rick Warren.

Spare me, but “Rick Warren says the right things when in Christian company”. So did Jim Jones at first. What is Rick Warren really leading the church into? That should be the real question!
Paul Proctor just wrote an article that goes more into the issues Christians partner with pagans for a better world. I did not known that Richard Land of the SBC was also in the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR). What a fine worldly globalist outfit these “Christian” leaders are yoked up with.

Eboo Patel: Rick Warren, Interfaith Activist – On Faith at washingtonpost.com

Rick Warren is our new Billy Graham – at the center of not only his own Christian tradition, but of American civil religion as well. Churches follows his direction (most recently into Rwanda), and political candidates seek his blessing (Exhibit A: The Saddleback Forum).

There has been a lot of talk about the risks that Warren has taken – inviting the pro-choice Obama to address a decidedly pro-life gathering on the topic of AIDS, for example.

Another risk he is taking – more subtle, perhaps, but equally profound – is around religious diversity.

Last week at the Clinton Global Initiative, Warren was asked how “the church” could help to solve poverty. His response was to rattle off the numbers of Buddhists, Hindus, Muslims and Christians in the world – in that order – and make a plea that the public and private sectors take seriously “the faith sector as the third leg of the stool of successful development”.

Warren consistently used the language of a religious pluralist. He spoke of “mosques, temples and churches” as central to the life of villages in the developing world. He underscored the fact that there are huge numbers of people of faith in the world, and huge numbers of houses of worship in places where clinics, banks and schools don’t exist. Those people of faith can be trained to be the arms and legs of any development plan, and those houses of worship can double as clinics, banks and schools.

Rick Warren’s “interfaith” social plans show lack of Christian discernment

No Gravatar

I gave Rick Warren a pass on his short OneNewsNow.com statement. However, I knew I should have said something. Paul Proctor did take the time to address what Rick Warren said and I am glad that he brought up the Matthew chapter 10 issue. Rick Warren quoted Matthew chapter 10 as his justification for his interfaith efforts. Proctor makes it quite clear that Warren is taking Matthew 10 out of proper context in order to accomplish a pluralistic interfaith social agenda that any true understanding of the Bible does not allow.

Rick Warren will never get it because his worldview is all wrong. He has a worldly globalist agenda and that is why he is a member of CFR. He does not get the role of the Church in the world and he does not get it that Christians cannot make joint interfaith efforts with unbelievers on social issues without those efforts coming with world strings attached. Not to even mention that some of the social efforts the world pushes and Warren agrees with are actually harmful to man.

The strings that come attached with interfaith efforts is that salvation through Jesus Christ alone, cannot be preached. So they unite on social temporal issues of the flesh but spiritual eternal issues of the soul never get out to the world. This is a compromise the Church is forbidden to make and those making it show complete lack of Christian discernment. I don’t know why any biblical group of people would consider following such worldly leadership. Read Paul Proctor’s complete article by clicking on the link below and make your own judgment. As you see I have already made mine.

Paul Proctor — Rick Warren Still Doesn’t Get It

They are distinctly different agendas given to distinctly different groups of participants at distinctly different times in history for distinctly different purposes.

Pastor Warren is reportedly gathering bodies – any willing bodies – to help him “cure societal problems” for the “common good.”

Jesus Christ, on the other hand, is gathering saved souls to a Kingdom not of this world for God’s Glory.

Big difference…

Furthermore, in Matthew 10, Jesus empowered and commanded his disciples to go specifically to the “lost sheep of Israel” to cast out demons, raise the dead, miraculously heal sickness and disease and preach to them that the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand – meaning salvation had come – not go and “cure societal problems.”

It was to supernaturally demonstrate that prophecy had been fulfilled before the eyes of those who knew and understood it – that their long-awaited Savior had finally arrived. Jesus was sending His disciples out at that particular time, not to the Gentiles, nor to the Samaritans, but to Jews only who knew and understood the scriptures of old and were looking for His coming.

Jesus did not send out just anyone who was willing to tag along to help “cure societal problems.”

So all the healing, casting out of demons and raising of the dead was to reveal God’s miraculous power and presence. All Warren will be demonstrating with his ragtag roundup is man’s power and presence – meaning his global shindig is just another brotherhood of man campaign designed to bring everyone together under the big tent of tolerance, diversity and unity where certain absolutes and convictions from scripture will be left at the door in order to keep the P.E.A.C.E.

And just how does that glorify Almighty God or His Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ, Who said in John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me”?

It doesn’t.

“Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds” – 2nd John 1: 9-11

That means we don’t go into ministry with them either.

When the Christian church partners with Muslims, Mormons, Buddhists and atheists for a so-called “ministry,” God is not glorified in the least because He will not share His glory with other gods.

Did Jesus attempt to send out representatives from other religions and philosophies with His disciples in the 10th chapter of Matthew to help them with demonic spirits, miraculous healing, raising the dead and preaching?

Of course not!

Then why is Rick Warren trying to “unequally yoke” various world religions and even atheists into a social gospel “ministry” of good works?

Or, is he expecting them to help Christians proclaim Jesus Christ as the only way to eternal life?

If Pastor Warren is looking for some scripture reference to validate his Global P.E.A.C.E. Plan and upcoming sheep and goat gala, he’d better look somewhere other than Matthew Chapter 10.

The collective tools of Satan

No Gravatar

Satan cannot be everywhere like God so he intends to use billions of eyes and ears to try to become like God. He will also use people, spy systems and mass communications to try to control everything in the world. That is also why Satan’s followers talk about a collective consciousness. 1984 has arrived.

Paul Proctor — Nowhere To Hide

With cameras now hanging over every street corner and parking lot – over
every highway, byway, hallway and aisle way – and in every gas station,
grocery store, shopping mall, office complex, government building,
restaurant and recreational area we visit, it would seem the only way
to escape someone’s watchful eye is to move out into the wilderness
where there are no paved roads, automobiles, bicycles, pedestrians or
surveillance cameras.

But, unfortunately, “the middle of nowhere” no longer exists.

Even if we were invisible to the camera’s lens, we’re easily tracked, day or
night by, among other things, our cell phone transmissions, our debit
and credit card purchases, our ATM withdrawals, and our automobile’s
integrated GPS systems – all old technology. Even when you pay cash for
something at a little convenience store, your image is, more often than
not, recorded along with the items you purchased and the exact time you
purchased them by a mounted security camera overhead. The cameras
outside the store record your vehicle, license number, the precise time
you arrived and left and everyone that was with you.

Does all this post 911 technology make you feel any safer or any freer for that matter?

Me either.

If you believe that people are basically good, Satan doesn’t exist and
Peeping Sam has your best interest in mind, then you probably see the
future as bright and promising. If however, you believe that man is
basically sinful, “absolute power corrupts absolutely” and things are
going to get worse before they get better, then you’re more than likely
anticipating an arduous age ahead.

You see, there is indeed
nowhere to hide. In fact, there never has been – not from an
omniscient, omnipotent and omnipresent God. But, the Devil is none of
these, though the scriptures tell us he has aspired to be from the
beginning – and may well be amassing some superstructure of
surveillance and control through the machinations and machinery of men.

The Southern Baptist South now needs to be invaded by Calvary Chapels.

No Gravatar

The main problem with the Southern Baptists (I have been a member) is that most members no longer read their Bibles they read Lifeway articles about the Bible. They do not do Bible studies they do Lifeway magazine studies or studies based on the latest book of some popular Christian self help Guru. They do not have Bible teachers they have facilitators of Lifeway products. Don’t believe me? Take a show of hands at your Southern Baptist Church, Bible study or group and ask how many have ever read through the Bible even once in their lives. You might be surprised. Better yet, since “Christians lie through their teeth give your membership a quiz on the Bible and make them hand it in. I dare you! See if your congregation can even be called quasi biblically literate.

So is it any wonder why they buy fluff at Christian book stores and love self help books and the gnosticism written by postmodern heretics. How would they know any better? The owners of the book stores are just selling what people want in a very difficult business to survive in.

Half of the Southern Baptist membership are now given a watered down seeker sensitive sermon on Sunday so they do not even hear any biblical truth from their pastors. In churches with younger pastors many are now hearing a postmodern emergent church message that questions all biblical truth and replaces truth with post modern relativism and universalism. Why are Southern Baptist’s not questioning their teachers? Mainly because they never read or at least never understood their Bible.

The decline of the Southern Baptists is now inevitable. The question is, who will be taking their place? The answer in the South right now is probably no one. Less and less people are showing up regularly, the South is becoming full of cultural Christians.

I think the South is ripe for a major invasion of Calvary chapels. They should consider the south a major mission field. I just read a report that said the FBI reports that crime is higher in the Bible Belt then in most other areas in the nation” Is it any wonder?

Paul Proctor — Southern Baptists now in decline

And what about the books LifeWay offers on Contemplative Spirituality, aka, Spiritual Formation, from Emerging Church authors and leaders, many of whom reject absolute truth, downplay doctrine and encourage their readers to incorporate mantras and mysticism into their Christian walk?

One of the foremost authors and leaders of the Emergent movement, Brian McLaren, recently spoke at Willow Creek Community Church in South Barrington, Illinois at the annual Shift student ministries conference. Here’s what the SBC’s own Baptist Press had to say about him:

McLaren’s views break harshly from traditional Christian theology that Jesus died on the cross as substitute for sinful humanity, taking the punishment that men and women deserved for their sin.

Yet, at this writing, his books are available for purchase at LifeWay Christian Stores.

I’m just scratching the surface here folks

Those seeking the divine within themselves will find demons

No Gravatar

The Bible says that doctrines of demons would be taught and believed in the last days. This worldwide paradigm shift to pagan thought just proves that we have arrived. Woe to the people that are teaching others this satanic deception.

There is nothing divine in self unless you got it from the Jesus that died on the cross and rose from the dead and is sitting on the right hand of God.

Paul Proctor — Oprah and The Gospel of Me

If you break it all down, the New Age is, at its core, just spiritual narcissism – cloaked in charity, compassion and unity.

Remember this next time you see celebrities, authors, books, movies and commercials promoting The New Earth – The Secret – The Shift and The Moses Code.

Do you see a pattern here?

It’s about the acquisition of special powers, hidden secrets, divine knowledge, a deeper understanding and saving the world from intolerance with good deeds, good friends and good intentions. How is this different from Harry Potter?

So, where does it all lead?

It leads to the same place Lucifer was headed when he said, in all his pride: “I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God” – that wicked one who seduced Eve into taking of the forbidden fruit by telling her: “your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods.”

After all – the New Age is about discovering the divine within oneself, is it not?

In a nutshell, the New Age and its New Spirituality promises to help you find God in everyone and everything, including yourself, with or without Jesus Christ.

But unfortunately for the millions of misguided viewers and listeners tuning into Oprah for spiritual guidance, that’s not what the Bible teaches:

The Super Bowl Golden Calf goes to church

No Gravatar

If Paul Procter discernment about this golden calf hits a little to close to home at your church. Maybe something should change at your church

clipped from www.newswithviews.com

“If you can’t
beat ‘em – join ‘em.” And so, the Church Super Bowl party was born.

Instead of
simply staying at home or heading out to some sports bar to watch the game in
postponed shame and make apologies or excuses later for choosing football over
faith, many decided to just take the big game to church with them as if that
somehow made it holy. As the numbers and excitement around megachurch big
screens grew, another golden calf emerged.

But of course,
those few not given to compromise objected to the idea since it unduly elevated
a sporting event to idol status, redirecting Sunday praise and worship, normally
reserved for the God of the universe, to the gods of the gridiron where felt
needs trump Christian creeds and old school notions like personal sacrifice,
sanctification, edification and holiness are sidelined in the interest of
expediency and appetite. More, it seemed, needed to be done to bring these
objectors onboard the Good Ship Relevance so they’d stop rocking it.

The institution of the church

No Gravatar

I think Paul Proctor thinks the church has become too institutionalized. Everything is more about the church institution rather than the Church of Jesus Christ.

Of course, preachers aren’t dispensing mood-altering medications to church members (at least not yet, or not that I know of) but many are, without a doubt, dispensing a wide array of mind-altering notions and nonsense that didn’t come from the Bible, but instead from books and authors beholding to one or more religious institutions – organizations with extra-biblical goals and plans that end up distracting and confusing many who profess Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and sending them astray.

I mean really – haven’t you noticed that psychotherapy has, for the most part, replaced the Word of God at church today resulting in a lot fewer real saints? Is it any wonder churchgoers are considered hypocrites by the outside world?

Paul Proctor — The Wasteland of Willow Creek

No Gravatar

Paul Proctor — The Wasteland of Willow Creek: “I guess by doing their own surveys and presenting the ‘earth-shaking’ results as a revelation at their Leadership Summit and in a brand new book, Hybels can save face and save customers by admitting comically that he goofed to his chuckling audience in front of the cameras without having to admit that those who rebuked him with the Word of God year after year were right – and that many others who desperately needed the Word of God, yet were denied, have suffered immeasurably for the neglect.”

We have been telling the seeker gurus that the seeker sensitive movement was a mistake for many years now but nobody wanted to listen. Now that Bill Hybels himself admits it was a mistake he will be seen as the enlightened one that figured it out. Meanwhile, he is planing a new experiment for the creekers that is a worse mistake. He will be shifting his churches toward the thinking in the emerging or emergent church movement.

These people do not want to teach the simple gospel they want a new gimmick or methodology to improve upon it. They want to try to hoodwink people into Christianity by psychologies of men and human rationalization rather than through the work Jesus did at Calvary.

Is a new church emerging from the pulpits of compromise?

No Gravatar

Paul Proctor — Is a new church emerging from the pulpits of compromise?: “IS A NEW CHURCH EMERGING FROM THE PULPITS OF COMPROMISE?”

You might say is a Harlot emerging in the name of Christianity? By what you tell us and by what I know the answer is clearly yes. Of course scriptures indicated that this would happen in the end times.

‘Simple Church’ or another Smoke Screen?

No Gravatar

Paul Proctor — ‘Simple Church’ or another Smoke Screen?: “Well, it seems the mad scientists of the church growth movement have once again emerged from the laboratory of the living dead with yet another chia pet project for the jaded masses. The latest concoction they’ve come up with is something called “Simple Church.”

“Whatever you might think of the Simple Church concept, this Lifeway article by Mrs. Shrout says nothing about preaching Christ crucified or feeding the Lord’s sheep, but only promotes another book, program and process designed by men who are focused on Results & Relationships rather than repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. “

Someone is always reinventing church for a postmodern generation that cannot accept God given truth. It is not surprising that the latest movement would come from the men and women out of “Lifeway”. After all “Lifeway” reinvented Southern Baptist Sunday schools which has now become just a study of their magazines.

If you really want “Simple Church” forget about all these vain philosophies of men and just get back to the simple basic biblical doctrines of the faith.

Purpose Driven support for Rosemarie’s baby

No Gravatar

Paul Proctor — The ABC’s of Rick Warren: Paul Proctor — The ABC’s of Rick Warren: “Warren said that there is a danger in merging Christianity with psychology,’ adding, ‘Absolutely, there’s a danger’…’Because what it does is feed this self-centeredness … I say, it’s not about you. It’s all about God…’ Now, that’s funny – if merging Christianity with psychology is dangerous because it feeds ’self-centeredness,’ and Rick Warren claims ‘it’s not about you,’ why did he ask the readers of his column in the March 2005 issue of the Ladies Home Journal, about their ‘wobbly self-esteem’ and then carefully teach both Christians and non-Christians alike that ‘the five truths that form the basis of a healthy self-image’ were: ‘Accept yourself, Love yourself, Be true to yourself, Forgive yourself and Believe in yourself?’ Warren said that there is a danger in merging Christianity with psychology,’ adding, ‘Absolutely, there’s a danger’…’Because what it does is feed this self-centeredness … I say, it’s not about you. It’s all about God…’

“Rick’s purpose driven method doesn’t “simplify Christianity” – it distorts it into something it’s not – and in a very duplicitous, disingenuous and unscriptural manner – something ABC’s reporters never addressed – choosing instead to talk about churches getting rid of hymnals – adding guitars and drums to their services and mixing Christianity with psychology – things that few Christians today would even have a problem with.”

Ever wonder why Rick Warren gets all this news coverage? I guess it really helps to be a member of the CFR. I wonder how many of this globalist elite club he has reached for Christ? Paul Proctor in this article hits the main points so I just want to add my belief that this movement is also the mother of Rosemarie’s baby (The emergent church movement). I explain that and talk about some of the issues that Paul Proctor brings up in my dominion theology article. It gets into Psychology, Dobsin, The purpose Driven and the Emergent church movements and much more. It tells how all of this postmodern thought leads to the woman who rides the Beast in Revelation 17

Jesus is the founder of liberalism?

No Gravatar

Paul Proctor — Southern Baptist Pastor: Jesus is the “founder of liberalism”

“If this pastor is not immediately removed from the pulpit of Auburn First Baptist Church, then AFBC ought to be removed from the Southern Baptist Convention.
But, you know what? He’s not going anywhere – and neither is AFBC.
You know why?
Because you can go to the Southern Baptist Convention’s LifeWay Christian Stores online or to any of their walk-in bookstores nationwide and find a wide array of books promoting the Emerging Church and Contemplative Spirituality.

This is not just a James Evans problem. It’s not just an Auburn First Baptist Church problem either. It’s not even a Southern Baptist Convention-only problem.
This is a global spiritual catastrophe in the making and very few from today’s Church are even aware of it, much less are speaking out against it.”

Why some are leaving the Purpose Driven church

No Gravatar

Paul Proctor — Our Survey Said!: “the overwhelming majority of ‘church switchers’ let me know that they had left to find a more traditional church because of three things:
1. Rick Warren’s teachings and growing influence at their former church.
2. The Purpose Driven agenda had recently been implemented at their former church.
3. Their former church had become too contemporary. ”

Other reasons given for their leaving included: former churches had gone liberal, seeker sensitive, CGM, church growth methodology, Willow Creek, Emergent, new age, Alpha, Prayer of Jabez, teaching heresy, playing loud music, rock and roll, preaching watered-down message, not being fed spiritually, the Word of God was replaced with jokes, stories, drama, psychology and social gospel, the full counsel of God was not being preached, the doctrine was not sound, unbiblical teachings prevailed in Sunday school, pastor preached from The Message Bible, no sense of reverence, pastor preached topically rather than “expositionally,” no hymns were sung, only praise ditties performed, depravity and debt-heavy building programs ensued, etc, etc, etc… many things I personally believe are directly related to the top three reasons.

So, as I predicted in last week’s article, my findings were vastly different from those reported in the Christian Post.”

Of course those that took part in this poll are quite different than the average reader of the Christian Post. They are more biblical orientated.

Church switcher survey

No Gravatar

Paul Proctor — Church Switchers, Change Agents & Agenda-Driven Surveys: “Well, my Reader’s List is quite a bit larger than 415 people, many of whom are themselves ‘church switchers;’ so I think I’ll ask them and any other evangelical evacuees reading this commentary, to email me at: watchman@usa.com and tell me, in just a couple of sentences, the primary reason they left their former church and if they actively sought out and ended up in a more contemporary fellowship. ”

You might want to get involved in Paul’s survey why you left your last church I am sure he will publish the result in a future article. Most of the email I received on this subject over the last few years told me it was because their last church went from teaching the Bible to seeker friendly. However, I write against the purpose driven seeker movement so I guess I should expect to hear mostly from people impacted by it. What is your reason for leaving?

By the way, I wrote about Lifeway magazines taking over Bible studies in Southern Baptist churches you might want to view it. Paul Proctor is implying in this article that Lifeway has influenced other areas of church services as well.
