The buffet morons of our postmodern churches.

This article tells me that many Americans claiming to be Christians are really biblical illiterate Laodiceans. Of course true Christians should already be aware that few people these days claiming to be Christians have any in-depth knowledge of the Bible.

Look at the figures in this article on people under the age of twenty-five. The article says 82 percent of young people believe in smorgasbord religion. If these people are the future of this nation I do not have to say God help us because He won’t. Any wonder why our nation is going down the tubes?

Those who pick and choose their own truth to believe are typical postmodern religious morons. Don’t confuse them with Christians. You might also consider how church teachers and preachers and parents could be doing their jobs in religious education when 4/5 of the youth have buffet religion. The truth is they are not bringing up their kids in the way they should go. Some might blame the brainwashing of our youth in our public schools and of course there is plenty of blame to be put there, but then why do Christians continue to allow the state to corrupt their kids? The Seneca Indians in this area are raising a bigger stink with state government over cigarette taxes then Christians do over the life and soul of their own children.

Most Americans Pick and Choose Religious Beliefs

Among those who describe themselves as Christians, for instance, nearly half believe that Satan does not exist, one-third say that Jesus sinned when He was on earth, two-fifths say they do not have a responsibility to share the Gospel with others, and one-quarter dismiss the idea that the Bible is accurate in all of its teachings – beliefs that are contrary to most church teachings.

George Barna, founder of The Barna Group, commented on the findings saying that a growing number of people are serving as their own “theologian-in-residence,” resulting in Americans embracing an “unpredictable and contradictory body of beliefs.”

He pointed out that millions of people who consider themselves as Christians who believe the Bible is totally accurate in all its teaching also contend at the same time that Jesus Christ sinned.

Others, the researcher noted, say they believe they will receive eternal salvation because they confessed their sins and accepted Christ as their savior, but they also believe that a person can do enough good works to earn eternal salvation.

Americans today, Barna observed, are “more likely to pit a variety of non-Christian options against various Christian-based views.”

“This has resulted in an abundance of unique worldviews based on personal combinations of theology drawn from a smattering of world religions such as Christianity, Buddhism, Judaism, Hinduism, and Islam as well as secularism,” he said.

Leading the pack of pick and choose your religious beliefs are people under the age of 25. More than four out of five (82 percent) of them say they develop their own combination of beliefs rather than adopt a set offered by a church.

  1. [“Americans today, Barna observed, are “more likely to pit a variety of non-Christian options against various Christian-based views.” “This has resulted in an abundance of unique worldviews based on personal combinations of theology drawn from a smattering of world religions such as Christianity, Buddhism, Judaism, Hinduism, and Islam as well as secularism,” he said.]

The above quote says it all. That’s what multi-culturalism does to a Christian country!
Jesus said we’re supposed to “Go into all the world to preach the Gospel” yet so many Christians in the US were rabidly shipping people from third world, non-Christian countries into the US as fast as they can. They actively promoted multi-culturalism thinking they were doing good deeds. How wrong they were!

Apparently they never read much of the Old Testament where God urged the Israelites to secure a land for their particular people so their land could be dedicated to the worship of the LORD. Other people pouring into ancient Israel brought their foreign gods with them which would hinder the Israelites worship of the LORD and God pointed that out time and time again to them! It’s right there folks! That was the pattern for how you should run a country.

By the way, one of the few times that God actually came down from Heaven and did something on a global, colossal scale like the Noah Flood was with the tower of Babel. All of the world’s people combined together and God divided them and gave them different tongues – for a reason. Multi-culturalism spits in the face of what God did at the tower of Babel.

For quite some time now it’s been trendy to import kids from the third world to the US. Once those kids grow up and or their kids grow up, guess what happens? They naturally start wanting to learn about who they are, their ancestral culture and consquently those religious practices. They start identifying with that ancestry in lieu of the people who raised them in their mainstream America home and now you have someone who’s evangelizing their ancestral culture on American society which includes those religious beliefs! They go to work in the school systems, in the corporate boardrooms, lobbying mayors, politicians and so on. So when an all American girl who’s a valedictorian makes a Graduation speech and says a prayer with the name of Jesus, those people along with the rabid atheists go ballistic! It’s hate speech … it denies recognition of the cultural heritage of these imported people and new immigrants, etc. That’s why Bible scriptures are taken down from public buildings. How can we recognize the Christian God over the religions of all of our new wonderful immigrants?

And by the way, many of the immigrants from Latin America are not even fundamentalist Christians. They’re just as Biblically illiterate as most Americans who claim they’re Christians. Many of these particular immigrants mix in their tribal religions and Santera and other religious ideas that involve animal sacrifices and so on. So it’s like importing 20 million plus Jehova Witnesses across the border who have a birth rate that’s 2 to 3X that of the average American.

Add that to the millions of imported muslims who have a birth rate that’s 2 to 3X that of the average American. Mix in millions more immigrants from other assorted third world countries with a 2 to 3X higher birth rate than average Americans that worship everything from water spirits, cows, tribal gods and so on and what do you have? It’s simple mathematics folks! True Bible-based Christianity is overwhelmingly outnumbered in America and moves to the bottom of the totemn pole, probably eventually legislated as hate speech.

And to think we’ll just have revival and convert all of these immigrants is fool-hardy because US prisons and inner cities are full of American born and raised people who commit crimes and will do so once let out. And it’s been like this for decades! Whole swaths of American cities are filled with violent thugs. The country is chock full of soul-less, atheist people (millions of actual American citizens) and they’ve never been converted. So if we’re not converting them, how on Earth do you think we can convert millions of new imports with a HIGH BIRTH RATE who are PROTECTED by the Feds from the slightest perceived insult? The Feds will send plenty of agents after someone who’s committing a hate crime against immigrants. Multi-culturalism has been a death pill to America.

  2. Your comment is extremely ridiculous. America is inherently a nation comprised of many cultures. Your attitude
towards people of other cultures reeks of hate, fear, and paranoia. It is the sort of attitude that inspires cultures to
commit atrocities like genocide. Absolutely nothing of the love of Christ is present in your mindset. Would you
prefer turn America into a theocracy, where no other points of view would be (and her comes that ever feared word)
    tolerated?

“The Feds will send plenty of agents after someone who’s committing a hate crime against immigrant”

Um, forgive me, but isn’t this a good thing? Are you advocating that Christians commit hate crimes against
immigrants? Is that some sort of right you are trying to protect? Please, that is absolutely disgusting.

  3. Open Your Eyes said, “Multi-culturalism has been a death pill to America”.

It did not have to be. The Christians in America did little to stop the destruction of our Christian culture and are doing little today to retain the little we have left. Many of the social engineers that have almost outlawed Christianity and allowed in countless illegals in our nation go to our Christian churches. Where is the correction coming from Christian leaders of these churches?

The real point of the article is to warn the Church that the salt is losing its savor and if the Church stays on this path they will be trodden down by the national Jackasses. The figures given in this article indicate that the Church in America is very near that point.

  4. What would you suggest Christians do to prevent being “trodden down by the national Jackasses”?
Not allow illegal immigrants into their churches?

  5. Hate crimes? What are you talking about. You should come over to Europe and see who’s comitting hate crimes here. Muslim immigrants that don’t want to accept the rule of law and wish to enforce their religion on the public. It’s not the East Asians and the Hindus.

And as soon as you criticize them or simply mention that there’s a higher crime rate among these minority groups, you get accused of being a racist. Well, if you want to know what hate crimes look like you might want to check out some videos on the “peace” protests of Muslims against the Israeli military operation in Gaza. Cars getting burned, public transport being targetted, shops being vandalized and synagogues being set on fire by immigrants.

The immigrants you’re talking about enter your country illegally. Now we ought to bear in mind that the living conditions where they come from may be bad but that doesn’t justify them invading another country and just expect regular Americans to give them all sorts of benifits. They are to accept Americans laws just like anyone and if they don’t like it they should leave it. It’s as simple as that.

I also didn’t get the impression that Open Your Eyes is a theocrat. If anything he’s fed up with people that get into the country illegally and ruin America’s public order, wreck your economy and then go on accusing Americans of being racist and demanding equal right. Legal immigration is just fine but not that’s not what we’re talking about. And in view of what I’m seeing in Europe, I’d say he’s damn right to be fed up.

Spreading the Gospel and loving other peoples is one thing, but allowing them to invade your country and sit back and do nothing to protect your own heritage and people? You got to be kidding me.

  6. Spreading the Gospel and loving other people is the thing, the only thing. I got the impression that ‘Open your eyes’
was not too thrilled with any sort of immigrant – like those ‘trendy’ third world children interested in their own
    heritage.

  7. Get real! You equate the love of others to basically hating your own country or disrespecting your own country’s laws. The laws are there for a reason, they ought to be respected. By its own citizens and even more so by immigrants. There’s also a difference between illegal economic immigrants and refugees, by the way. I have no problem with political refugees but to allow uncontrolled economic immigrant is foolish and in our days it is dangerous and suicidal (cf. Islamic influx).

  8. Evan said, “What would you suggest Christians do to prevent being “trodden down by the national Jackasses”?
Not allow illegal immigrants into their churches?”

I don’t know why you would suggest such a thing? I suggest that leaders of our Churches start teaching the fundamental truths of Christianity because obviously according to the survey there are a whole lot of people who call themselves Christians that have never been taught Christianity.

By the way, I believe everything said here has some degree of Merritt but also think some things said are not quite right. However, I think people have a right to express what they think is the problem causing the decline of Christian culture and Christians not knowing basic doctrines of their faith even if I do not totally agree with their premise.

  9. Evan,

How’s that mishmash of cultures in LA working out? There’s a low-intensity war going on there. Not a very Christian environment in that particular city!

What about all of those cultural groups with their hands out at the government trough? Might I add, there aren’t any Euro groups there except greedy CEO’s who don’t represent me.

Should I be happy with these people demanding my tax dollars at the expense of my children? According to the impression I get from you, I should be overjoyed at the prospect of seeing what my grand-father fought for be given away to someone’s kids. I should be overjoyed to see a once Christian nation turned into a spiritual wasteland. I should be overjoyed that I’m paying for the housing, cars, perks, grant money, gov contracts, job preferences and medical care of others instead of being able to take care of my family! I had to pay over 10k for a minor procedure on my 1 year old baby, something that was so minor I could done it myself yet the hospital was filled with illegal aliens walking around speaking Spanish – I was covering their expenses! I know because medical industry employees admitted it. Is that fair? Is that right? Read your Bible again, God’s take on charity and work are completely different than the meme you bought into.

Am I supposed to be responsible for paying the medical care and other goodies for any Tom, Dick and Harry who wants to come to the US? I don’t think so.

People who throw out words such as “hate”, “paranoia”, “xenophobia”, etc. are using those words as cover to silence those who see unjustice.

  10. I often get the impression that many American Christians feel America and America’s problems to be the epicenter
of the world. There is no doubt we have our own issues to work on – tremendous issues. Sometimes I feel like it
is each man for himself in America. We are so adamant about protecting our own rights, about protecting our own
wallets (and this isn’t necessarily sinful or unnatural – it is very natural and human for us to be concerned will our
own welfare). But as Christians aren’t we called to center our lives on our own interests – or even on our own
culture’s interests – we are called to be truly connected to entire community of the world, and live out Christ’s love
in our lives, acting out this love towards everyone. As Americans we live like kings and queens – and we are also
isolated from the extreme poverty of the rest of the world. It’s easy to feel that the bubble we live in is the whole
world. Alas, I am rambling. Perhaps all of these thoughts come from the fact that I am not a very political person
naturally. But I feel a thrill when I remember that there is a whole living and desperate world outside of America.
Sometimes I feel like we all need a good shaking, need to taken outside of ourselves, in order to stand face to face
with the pain running rampant through the lives of others – our neighbors, peoples of other cultures. These are just
my views. Forgive me if I have offended with my sometimes bitter remarks.

  11. We are getting off topic but just let me verify what Open Your Eyes said.

In the material that certain sliding scale medical clinics send those inquiring about a job they flat out say that those with medial insurance help pay the costs of those who do not pay full cost. So they want everyone to encourage people with insurance to use these clinics.

Ever wonder why medical costs are so high? That is part of the reason. When you get medical treatment you are paying for all those who do not or cannot pay the real cost. It is even worse for those who pay in cash because they do not even have a negotiated lower rate like medical insurance companies.

I think you will find that socialism is now in practice almost everywhere and not just in medicine. I will give a couple of more examples. Who pays the real estate taxes and the heating bills of low income people in many states? When someone commits credit card fraud who do you think pays the bills? The businesses where the card were used get charged back and take the loss and the credit card company will not even go after the crooks. So business owners have to raise the price of everything they sell to everyone to cover the cost of the crooks and the crooks have no reason to stop being crooks because no one will prosecute them.

Socialism is now built into the system. People with the means to pay, pay the bills of those who cannot or will not pay and we also pay for millions of crooks.

Heck, Obama is making the head of the U.S. Treasury and the IRS someone who did not pay certain taxes for four years in a row. The chief crooks in the nation are now the ones being bailed out by taxpayers.

Why do people today have no problem robbing others and why do they expect others to owe them a living? Because they have situational ethnics and postmodern beliefs and that is reflected in the above survey.

  12. Evan,

Where I’m coming from is that God’s ways aren’t about following emotion or whatever meme the media has put out. God is a god of order and of protocol. He doesn’t do things haphazardly or on the spur. He plans things thousands of years ahead, from the beginning and we’re called to be like Him. When Jesus was on the Earth he didn’t shuffle along aimlessly. He had protocol, plans and order. The ultimate goal may be “X” but God has protocol in getting there.

For instance when it came to preaching the Gospel, the protocol was to preach to home (Israel) and then to spread the Gospel outward and in a certain order. The apostles were given marching orders. They didn’t aimlessly wander around preaching.

Evan in terms of protecting our own rights there’s one problem with that meme. Who’s protecting my rights? No politician represents me, a Fundamentalist Christian Euro-American male with a family and kids, who’s a white collar worker who pays his taxes (probably overpays) and obeys the law. People like me are the butt jokes and villians on TV, movies, music, school curriculums, corporate training programs, politicians, etc., etc. I’m a producer in the economy, I create jobs, and revenue for companies and the government, I’m not a parasite (a taker), so who looks out for me?

There’s nothing Godly about being taken advantage of for the benefit of parasites.

I understand there’s crushing poverty in the world, we sponsor a child with a Christian organization that lives in India. We’re looking into sponsoring a child in the Ukraine next. Though there’s proverty doesn’t mean you just unload your savings account on someone, or you pack your house with every poor person you see — you follow what God is telling you because He’s a god of Order and protocol.

  13. The bottom line is this moshpit of cultures (diversity/multi-culturalism) has de-Christianized America. And provided temptations everywhere to worship idols and foreign gods and it’s made evangelizing tougher. It’s hard to promote a Christian worldview in a school/college when you have multi-cultural people protesting it! After all, it alienates them.
