Will the Antichrist come from the linage of Antiochus Epiphanes?

Certainly a thought provoking perspective from Chuck Missler on the linage of the Antichrist figure.

The Genealogy of the Antichrist

A genealogical link between the original Antiochus Epiphanes and Titus Vespasian would not be surprising, and yet it is very provocative. But there may be more.

In the fifth century the royal line of the Franks intermarried with the Merovingian dynasty, which ultimately links with the family trees of the Habsburgs, the House of Lorraine, Plantard, Luxembourg, Pont‚zat, Montesquieu, Sinclair, Stuarts, and most of the royal families of Europe. Among contemporary luminaries are Otto von Habsburg of Austria and his son, Karl, and King Juan Carlos I of Spain and his son, Felipe.

[It is from this type of background that some consider King Juan Carlos of Spain or his son Felipe as possible candidates. The lineage of the son includes 2 German emperors, 8 kings of Denmark, 5 kings of Sweden, 7 Czars of Russia, 1 king and 1 queen of Norway, 1 queen of England and 5 kings of Greece.]

  1. Chuck wrote that article in 1999, nearly a decade ago. Why is CWN publishing it now?

    Thanks for the link, Don!

  2. I would think that Missler submitted the article to them for publication on their website. I assume Missler or his staff submitted it to establish a presence on their website or perhaps they just have given CWN permission to republish articles from their archives. CWN also publishes articles by Walter Martin who has been dead for quite some time. I guess CWN thinks these old articles are worthy of being republished, as do I. To find out for sure you could ask them if you want.

I am not related to Bill Koenig but I read his news links almost every day. Because of the news content on that site I also provide a link up to his website from my directory of great Christian websites.

    Thanks for the interest, John.

  3. My name should link to a novel about the second coming of Antiochus in modern day as both savior and Antichrist, called Something Coming (.com). Also found here: http://createspace.com/3376099 Antiochus’ burial site is unknown, and in Something Coming it is found by archaeologists working at Mt. Nemrut, Turkey. He is a spirit preserved beneath the mountain in an ancient ritual magic room, and has followers in modern day who remember themselves as his servants from the old kingdom. Antiochus returns to life in his own flesh as a God-child, promising to save the world, but descendants of Judas Maccabeus remember Antiochus and suspect that he’s the Antichrist. Something Coming takes the prophecies of Daniel and Revelation and makes them come true in our time: the head that was wounded yet lives (Antiochus’ statue at Mt. Nemrut is the source of a “miracle”); the peacemaker who begins in obscurity and eventually unites the world under one banner against Israel; Daniel’s vision of a figure like Antiochus during the time of the end. In Something Coming, Daniel wasn’t just foreseeing a figure like Antiochus — it IS him, come as a New Age messiah. See the reviews on Amazon (search using the title and author’s name, J.M. DeBord). I also looked for information about what has been going on lately at Mt. Nemrut and couldn’t find anything except that the researchers are suddenly having a hard time with the Turkish gov’t. Could his secret burial site be there? The Scroll of Philipp — Philipp buried Antiochus — is reputed to hint at a location in Turkey. Anyway, thought you might like to know.
