I thought I would make a progress report on how America is changing under the Obama administration’s promise of change before I take a little break for my upcoming physical relocation to another state.<\/p>\n
First lets talk about the economy under the Obama administration of the last six months.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n We were told that if congress passed the nearly trillion dollar stimulus package it would keep unemployment below 8 percent. Right now we are at 9.5 percent and it is likely to go to 11 percent by early next year.\u00a0 If you also count the people the government no longer counts such as those who gave up looking for work and those forced to work part time the real unemployment will soon approach 20 percent. That is a figure much like we had in the great depression.<\/p>\n The great recession was supposed to be over this year. It will not be, even the stock market has lost its irrational exuberance and is on its way back down again. The oil market is also heading down again which means that the speculation about any recovery was premature. The green shoots that we were told about by the Obama administration was just an attempt to talk up the economy so people would start spending again.\u00a0 The problem is that people without jobs, people who lost much of the their investments, and people who can no longer borrow on their house and credit cards cannot be talked into spending what they do not have through positive thinking. I know some democrats believe “The Secret” promoted by Oprah. The book makes claims that we can think things into existence but lets get serious here.<\/p>\n The\u00a0 wizards in Washington were thinking that housing would turn the corner this year. It will not.\u00a0 Housing will not get better any time soon and property values will continue to fall at least until 2011.\u00a0 We have yet to see all the foreclosures from the people losing their jobs who simply cannot keep up the mortgage payments. Half of the people who have to move for one reason or another will have to sell the house for less then what they owe on it. Most will just pack up and move and let the bank have it.\u00a0 The government loan restructuring and write downs have been a complete failure. More than half of the mortgage write downs that were supposed to prevent foreclosure are already in default again.<\/p>\n This administration did a stress test on the banks for the worst case scenario of unemployment reaching 10.3 percent.\u00a0 The verdict was that some banks would be in trouble. Now we see that the worst case scenario was not the worst case at all. That means the banks are in big trouble and there will be more government bailouts and bank failures on the way.<\/p>\n If we do have any economic recovery in 2010 it will be weak and we will most likely be back in recession by 2011 due to socialist democratic economic policies and the debt burden.<\/p>\n The Democrats just passed cap-and-trade in the House by clearly bribing some congressmen. They are now trying to do it in the Senate. If the Senate passes this bill it will be signed by the President. Do you know this bill alone will insure that our economy will be in stagflation for decades? It will double everyone’s energy bills this decade. What do you think that will do to the long term economy? Did you know that in the House bill (that was passed before anyone even read the bill), that it will require you to retrofit your home to some EPA\u00a0 environmental standard? Are you ready for the door-to-door energy inspectors and the mandatory expensive compliance? You will not be able to sell your home if you do not first pass this inspection.<\/p>\n The Democrats this year will spend two trillions dollars more than they take in from all taxes. For every dollar they take in in taxes they are now spending three. I expect much the same thing next year. So if anyone tells you that middle-class income taxes will not be going up they are lying. If anyone tells you that we can reduce this budget deficit by expanding government into health care and everywhere else they are also lying. If Democrats tell you that they can balance the budget without significant increase in taxes they are lying but if they do significantly increase taxes there will be further economic downturn which will keep us in a long term depression. The only other thing they can do is to just print all the money they need. But, any nation that has done that to the extent that will be required has destroyed their nation through hyperinflation.\u00a0 America is technically bankrupt, sooner or later other nations are going to figure that out and quit lending to us. When that happens what is going on now will be the good ole days. Did you know that even under these unrealistically low interest rates we still spend nearly half a trillion dollars a year just on interest on our debt?\u00a0 What makes anyone think interest rates can remain this low?\u00a0 If people lose confidence in America to pay her bills interest rates will skyrocket.\u00a0 At just ten percent interest on a 20 billion national debt it comes to 2 trillions dollars a year (the national debt will be at 20 trillion in about five years).\u00a0 When that happens all the federal taxes raised in America could not even pay the interest on the national debt, yet pay for our government programs.<\/p>\n Changes in social policies over the last six months.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Abortion supported by government and taxpayers.<\/p>\n Homosexuality advanced.<\/p>\n Many appointments of the Obama administration were given to far left radicals who have views that do not reflect the views of the vast majority of Americans. We will see repercussion from this in the near future.<\/p>\n Government has taken over the large banks.<\/p>\n Government has taken over major corporations.<\/p>\n Government is attempting to take over health care<\/p>\n The Constitution is largely ignored. There are many examples such as “state rights” where\u00a0 federal government regulations control the polices of state and local governments. There are where separation of powers are circumvented by the executive branch through appointing Czars (Sounds like we joined Russia). There also are the federal judges that are legislating from the bench.<\/p>\n Foreign policy changes over the last six months.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n The democratic administration is apparently doing everything possible to weaken the CIA.\u00a0 If you don’t believe me ask someone in the CIA.<\/p>\n Obama has kissed up to many world tyrants. He obviously believes in international socialism and he will follow the dictates of globalists with their treaties at the expense of our own sovereignty.<\/p>\n Obama has taken budget and restructuring action that will weaken our military.<\/p>\n Obama has given aid and words of comfort to Islamic terrorist organizations while pressuring Israel to no good end.<\/p>\n North Korea is openly defying and mocking America because they see weakness. They know a military strike on them under Obama will not happen.<\/p>\n Iran is openly defying and mocking America because they see weakness. They know a military strike on them under Obama will not happen.<\/p>\n Obama says almost nothing in support of the Iranian people who want to get rid of their own tyrant.<\/p>\n Obama supports the reinstatement of the socialist former President of Honduras who was trying to illegally change the constitution of Honduras to try to keep himself\u00a0 in power. He defied the Supreme Court of Honduras that said what He was doing was unconstitutional and thus he was removed from power by the Honduran military for his abuse of power (with support by his own party I might add). Yet, Obama ignores the law of their land and supports the perpetrator.<\/p>\n That’s all I have time for. I am sure I left a whole lot out.\u00a0 You can fill that in with your own comments if you want.<\/p>\n I do not want anyone to think that Obama and the Democrates have done nothing good in the last six months at all.
