Every time I get stupid enough to think that the Pope seems to be moving in a more orthodox Christian direction he regress to doctrines that leads me to think he knows nothing about true Christianity. What will bringing back Latin mumble jumbo in the Mass do other than satisfy feelings of nostalgia for those who grew up on this mindless ritual?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The Catholic Mass was put into the common language so that people could understand what the priest was doing and saying. Now this Pope wants to make it all mystical again. The correct position to take if he ever wants to start on a path to unite Christianity would be to do away with the Mass altogether since the Mass is not supported by scripture. The Mass is simply an ongoing ritualistic offering of Jesus on the altar. The practice has no support from New Testament teaching which says that Jesus did it once for all.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The mystical is rearing its head again in areas outside Catholicism as well in the emerging movements and new age paganism. Perhaps by making the Catholic Church more mystical again the Pope hopes to find common ground of agreement between all those who want mysticism rather than true Christianity. Mystical religion is not Christianity, it is Mystery Babylon the mother of all harlots spoken about in <\/strong>Revelation chapter 17. <\/span><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Pope puts his weight behind the revival of Mass in Latin-Comment-Faith-TimesOnline<\/a>: <\/strong>“The Pope has signed a document that re-opens the way to the optional use of the old Latin Mass, replaced by liturgy in the local language in the late 1960s, it was reported yesterday.
\nThe document is expected to be published within the next few weeks. Known as a motu proprio, signifying that it is the Pope\u2019s personal initiative, it reflects Benedict XVI\u2019s thinking on the subject since long before he was elected pontiff.
\nWhile, as Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, he was Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, he repeatedly expressed sympathy for those Catholics who felt nostalgia for the traditional Latin rite which dated back to the Middle Ages, although when it came to discipline he took stern action against the ultra-conservative Catholic splinter group led by the French archbishop Marcel Lefebvre, who rejected the reforms of the Second Vatican Council and for whom the use of the Latin Mass was a banner.
