Many of the problems for America today could have been avoided by better decisions in the past. If we could go back to late 1940’s and then over the next sixty years made the correct hard choices instead of the half- hearted politically correct ones, we could have been a nation that stood against tyranny in the world and a nation that stood for what is morally right. The world could be a much better place today.<\/p>\n

Back in the the late 40’s and early 50’s if we had made the hard choice after the second world war, communism would not have spread its poison and tyranny all over the world that put us in cold and hot wars form the 50’s until now. At the end of World War II we were the only nation with atomic weapons. A show of force would have stopped Russia in its tracks. There would have been no Soviet Union and the error of communism would long ago be in the ash heap of history.<\/p>\n

Not only did communism spread tyranny in nations it spread mental and moral poison that infected many minds. That brought us the cultural rebellion of the 60’s and 70’s, with the secular humanists and the post modern relativism of today.<\/p>\n

Instead of dealing with Stalin when we had the means to end his tyranny we just allowed for Russia to take over large areas of the world knowing that the leaders of Russia were every bit as evil and as grave a threat to a free world as the Nazis. The end result of our peace at all cost with Stalin was 50 million dead in East Europe and Russia, and a fifty year cold war where soon the survival of civilization became in doubt. The only card we had left to play to prevent a nuclear attack by the 70’s was called mutually assured destruction (MAD). In the late forties we could have prevented any nation from developing nuclear weapons if we just had the will and good sense to do what was required.<\/p>\n

The appeasement of communism in Russia and China led to the Korean war. The war was not to defeat communism but to contain it so that it would not spread any further and threaten our own interests. So we fought a war in North Korea against the communists but we did it with one hand held behind our back. When we had all but defeated North Korea we just let the Chinese hordes invade and would not take the war to China. We could have taken the Chinese out of the picture by striking China but our generals were not allowed to do that so the end result was a war that eventually split Korea into two nations. Then we offered the communists a cease fire that would allow a tyrannical government to rule in North Korean until this day.<\/p>\n

The cease fire did not end the war it just postponed it to the future. Then beyond all reason, we even allowed North Korea to develop nuclear weapons for the future war. By the way, after the cease fire we just abandoned many hundreds of our solders that were prisoners of war.\u00a0 Some are still in North Korea. Gee, thanks for supporting the troops America! Don’t tell me how great Truman and Eisenhower were as Commander-in-Chief.<\/p>\n

In the 60’s we allowed Russia to prop up a tin horn dictator in Cuba. We could have taken Castro out if President J.F.K. had not abandoned the Bay of Pigs invaders that were promised US air support but instead were abandoned and left to be rounded up by Castro. Gee, thanks for supporting the troops America! It was not long after that Castro and Russia almost brought the world to the brink of nuclear war when Russia starting bringing nukes and missiles to Cuba. Finally the US took a stand but had Castro been overthrown in the Bay of Pigs invasion we would not gone to the brink of a nuclear holocaust and Castro and the communists would not still be impoverishing Cuba today.<\/p>\n

In the early 60’s the communists were on the move in South East Asia which got us involved in the Vietnam war. The idea was to stop the spread of communism in that area of the world. We could have won that war by an invasion of the North Vietnam within a couple of weeks, but our leaders feared China without reason because China had no real power in the 60’s. So politicians that really should have been wearing skirts told our military men they would have to fight the communists with two hand tied behind their back. We could only fight against targets approved by the pencil necks in Washington so our bombing would not upset anyone. The results was a decade long war that accomplished nothing but filling body bags and spreading deadly Agent Orange contamination. By the way, out government denied treatment for Agent Orange related illnesses for decades. Gee, thanks for supporting the troops America.<\/p>\n

The Vietnam war fueled a Marxist driven antiwar movement that blamed our troops for doing what they were told. Instead of wining the war our great President Richard M. Nixon just claimed victory and abandoned the people that fought with us and they also abandoned our own US war prisoners. Gee, thanks for supporting the troops America!<\/p>\n

After we cut and ran from Vietnam the outcome was predictable the communists took over the country and then Cambodia where millions were slaughtered in the killing fields. Also ask the people in Burma about the Communism we allowed in S. E Asia. Gee, thanks America!<\/p>\n

In the 80’s the “great” American President Jimmy Carter, abandoned our ruling Iranian friends and allowed Islamic tyranny to take over Iran. We could not even rescue our own embassy staff and just abandoned them as hostages of Iran until the day that President Ronald Regan took office and Iran realized that it would not be healthy for them to keep our men as hostages. Under Regan the Soviet Union went broke trying to keep up with our military programs and their own war to take over Afghanistan. So we had one humble President in modern times that knew the difference between good and evil and America stood alone as a super power in the world until Bush and Clinton put ourselves under the UN.<\/p>\n

For a long time we were supporting Iraq against Iran but President George H. W. Bush who was really a international progressive dressed in conservative American clothing, sent the wrong signal to Saddam and Iraq invaded Kuwait. That led to the first gulf war but that war could have been avoided if Saddam did not get mixed messages from Bush. So we assembled this huge army and quickly defeated the Iraq army but we left that WMD criminal Saddam in power. By the way, the troops were exposed to many toxic chemicals in that war but our vets were denied any service connection for over a decade. Gee, thanks for supporting the troops America!<\/p>\n

Then our great President George Jr. gets into office and he is told that Iraq has WMD so we do it all over again and this time we try Saddam for war crimes. However, getting Saddam was not enough for the Bush’s team, they decided they wanted to build a nation and occupy until the Islamics put flowers in their hair and sing “Let the Sunshine in” or “We Are Going to Learn War No More”. The nation building is still ongoing in Iraq and if someone does not deal with Iran soon, Iraq will soon be under the control of a religious Shia theocracy. So all the lives lost in Iraq in the nation building will be for naught.<\/p>\n

In the same era terrorists support by our hateful friends in Saudi Arabia bring down the twin towers and that leads to the war now taking place in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Under Presidents Bush Jr and later President Obama they again get the strange idea that America can build a democratic government in a nation run by religious fanatic war lords. It is one thing to destroy terrorist bases and it is another thing to believe in delusions. So that war will probably last until we declare victory and cut bait because we have another war to deal with.<\/p>\n

Also going on during the whole duration of this period is the war and peace process between Israel and the Arabs. It is a great place to get Nobel Peace Prize awards even through nobody getting the award has ever achieved any peace. I suppose if anyone actually achieves peace in this area of the world the socialist Nobel committee in Norway will label them fascist.<\/p>\n

Our past errors continue to bring about a predictable future. Do they even teach our real history in schools so we do not keep making the same appeasement mistakes? Would anyone even believe it if they did?<\/strong><\/p>\n
