If you are aware of present political realities of today, the news headlines of tomorrow may not come as a complete surprise.<\/p>\n
Obama is going to withdraw from Afghanistan but it will take until 2014 to do it. Meanwhile, nothing has changed for the better in that area. In fact, things are growing worse because the war just created more radicals in Pakistan and Afghanistan that hate Americans. So there is no reason to think that these areas will not become terrorist training grounds in the future.<\/p>\n
Bashar al-Assad of Syria has killed well over a thousand people in Syria and he is creating quite a humanitarian crises by destroying the towns of people that do not support him and their very livelihoods. Many people trying to escape his military repression are crossing over into Turkey for protection. Turkey is now telling Assad that he needs to step down but Assad is not going to do that unless he knows his head is on the chopping block.<\/p>\n
So Turkey is now talking about invading Syria and taking a buffer zone in Syria to protect the people. Keep in mind that Turkey is a NATO member so NATO with the US might soon be dragged into another war if shooting starts between Syria and Turkey. I am sure that NATO’s demonstration of “power” and lack of resolve in Libya does not exactly have Assad shaking in his boots.<\/p>\n
Greece is just one of a series of time bombs in Europe. I think the rich EU nations will blink again and they will continue to bail out Greece even though they know quite well that the austerity measures in Greece will not take place because the people of Greece will not allow it. The alternative of not continuing to bail out Greece would bring civil upheavals and the end of the Euro. Nevertheless, with the EU throwing more money down this Greek black hole it just makes the other free-lunch-PIIGS nations think that mass demonstrations will also give them more German wiener schnitzel. The demands of these people that continue to spend beyond their means will cause a much worse crisis in Europe not very far down the road.<\/p>\n
We have that same problem right here and once the interest rates go up, and they will, all hell will break loose in this nation. Whoever occupies the Oval Office during the next term in the United States will have all that to deal with and it’s not going to be pretty picture.<\/p>\n
It now seems to me that many in Bible prophecy have been a bit hasty about the timing of the next major war with Israel. People that study these things were expecting the next major Arab war with Israel to start “any day now” for the last couple of years. I think this Arab Spring uprisings delayed what some of us Bible prophecy people expected to happen even though the Arab Spring will turn out to be the event that allows the scriptures to be fulfilled exactly as written. It seems that due to the Arab Spring uprisings the Psalm 83 war will not occur quite as soon as some of us thought.<\/p>\n
At this point it is difficult to figure out the timings because we do not know how long the Arab Spring uprisings will play out. Nor do we know the end result of the uprisings in the different nations and how that all plays out with Israel. We can speculate but your educated guess is probably about as good as mine at this point. Even if the Arab Spring brings democratic elections to some nations nobody really knows how long it will take for these Arab nations to get their act together and come together so that they can focus on Israel rather than on their own internal politics. It really could be a few more years than we expected.<\/p>\n
Just last year it looked like Iran would start a war with Israel through its proxies but Iran is now losing control of the Arab nations. The Sunni Muslim brotherhood in the Arab states will not have Shiite Iran as its leader. The leader of Syria that was Iran’s ally might not even survive the year and Saudi Arabia is taking action on her own to oppose Iran in the Middle East. We might soon see why Iran does not come against Israel in the war mentioned in Psalm 83.<\/p>\n
There is also the question of just how long the West can continue to allow Iran to develop nukes? Even through Iran will not have a large nuclear arsenal for years they could even now be an EMP (Electromagnetic Pulse) threat to Europe and the United States.<\/p>\n
The reports I read about the nuclear test program in North Korea makes me think that they are now a nuclear EMP threat to South Korea, Japan and very soon the United States. Their nuclear tests apparently were not failures as reported by the US. The two nuclear tests probably were testing to achieve maximum gamma rays for an EMP rather than a test to achieve maximum explosive yield.<\/p>\n
The North Koreans may have received this EMP knowledge from the Russians quite a while back. Now there are reports that N. Korea may have learned to miniaturized their Plutonium nuclear weapons so they can be fitted on their missiles. If their own development of these weapons is not dangerous enough to the world, they are selling their EMP and missile technology to Iran and building Platinum reactors in other rogue nations. The missile tests of both N. Korea and Iran emulate testing for an EMP attack, so unless US Intelligence is now full of complete idiots we know what they are shooting for.<\/p>\n
