Jimmy Carter the great compromiser now attempts to unite Baptist denominations over his own beliefs. He can achieve this if everyone just decides that biblical issues that divide us like abortion, homosexual rights and Israel are no longer important. Well thanks to people like Jimmy Carter the church in America is now just about dumbed down enough to unite on anything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

so the issues are only<\/em> women in ministry, marriage, legalized abortion,
\ngay rights and the separation of church and state. Nothing that can\u2019t be
\novercome with a smiling compromiser like Jimmy Carter around to help everyone
\nlink hands. After all, he brokered the Camp David Peace Accords that achieved
\nMiddle East peace for at least<\/em> ten minutes. The reason that the Peace
\nAccords didn\u2019t end tension in the Middle East and the reason that uniting all
\nBaptists will ultimately fail is that the issues are based on principles of
\nright and wrong. For the Israelis, how much land can they give up before their
\nhomeland ceases to exist? For Baptists, how much doctrinally can they give up
\nand still be Christians? For Baptists, the issues are sin and rebellion against
\nGod versus obedience to His Word (Women in the pulpit). The issues are life and
\ndeath (abortion), Immorality versus morality (homosexuality), and those issues
\nare not going to go away<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n
