Chuck Colson is correct that the church in America needs to return to orthodoxy and truth. We need more leaders rejecting the\u00a0postmodern trend that is rethinking and redefining\u00a0known Christian truths.<\/p>\n
Having said that, Chuck Colson\u00a0is part of the problem because he wants\u00a0the largely\u00a0dead church in America\u00a0to go back to\u00a0the\u00a0truth it never\u00a0embraced.<\/strong> The true Church in America is much smaller then Colson would have you believe. It does not include most of the apostate Liberals and the Catholics that Chuck Colson so readily embraces as Christians.\u00a0Most of these\u00a0have a culture or a religion, not Christ.<\/p>\n Muslims are better theologians because they base their beliefs on literal interpretations of\u00a0their scriptures and most of them\u00a0are well trained in\u00a0it. While most American Christians only know what their denomination or pastor\u00a0told them and haven’t a clue what the Bible really says or how to properly apply the biblical\u00a0passages.<\/p>\n How can the Church have a proper worldview when\u00a0“leaders” like\u00a0Chuck\u00a0Colson deny the prophetic implications of what is going on in the\u00a0Middle East?\u00a0There is\u00a0Bible\u00a0prophecy\u00a0unfolding\u00a0right in\u00a0front of us in the Middle East but Colson is blind\u00a0to that.\u00a0He says knowing the scripture will give Christians a proper biblical\u00a0worldview. It does\u00a0only if\u00a0you\u00a0take\u00a0what God meant to be literal, literally.<\/p>\n If you allegorize\u00a0and spiritualize what is literal, if you replace Israel with the Church, if\u00a0you sign on with those who\u00a0oppose Israel, if you\u00a0kowtow to terrorists organizations that seek the destruction of Israel, then\u00a0What\u00a0in the world can\u00a0you teach\u00a0any Christian\u00a0about\u00a0proper worldviews?<\/strong><\/p>\n Chuck Colson says he hopes his new\u00a0book will\u00a0provide a new\u00a0theological grounding for Christians. Why would it? The Bible is the book Christians need to\u00a0understand for theological grounding not Chuck Colson’s book.\u00a0Colson always\u00a0takes a might high view of what he says but\u00a0from some of the things I have heard him say, I\u00a0am not impressed.
