Joel’s Army the manifest sons of deception!

On July 27, 2008 · 20 Comments

Every hear of Joel’s Army? This article will tell you all about what is coming from the “New Wave” or “Third Wave” act that is sweeping the Charismatic crowd looking for titillating manifestations of God through demonic people. You know, the stuff coming from the Todd Bentley’s, the Rick Joiner’s and all the manifest sons of deception crowd. Notice that Joel’s army physically attacks the church in order to purify it. I guess they want us to believe that a demonically inspired group of men is going to purify the church and take the world for Christ. Sure! And the Easter Bunny is the risen Christ.

If you believe the Bible teaches any of this stuff that these people are saying you really need to read through your Bible for the first time in your life.

Joseph Chambers

Dominion Theology and Joel’s Army

Religious deception is always the most subtle and dangerous kind. When the church forsakes the old paths of righteousness and consecration, the next step is haughtiness and doctrinal confusion. It is impossible to rightly interpret Scripture; to rightly divide the great truths of the “meat of the Word” unless humility and a contrite spirit controls our life. There are no haughty and arrogant prophets in the kingdom of God. “The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.” (Psalm 51:17).

The entire Evangelical church world is being assaulted with the Kingdom Dominion Theology. It is like mortal combat between those who defend the Biblical doctrines of the End Times (The Rapture of Christ’s Bride, the Tribulation followed by the Millennium) and the “New Wave Theology.” A book entitled Joel’s Army describes this “New Wave Theology” as promoted by one New Wave organization. The author stated that this ministry was “holding conferences overseas and throughout the U.S.A. Churches and denominations are being proselytized and preyed on with a ‘gospel’ they claim is ordained to bring forth:

1. the greatest revival the Church has ever known;
2. the greatest baptism of the Spirit the Church has ever experienced;
3. the greatest Army (Joel’s Army) distinguished by invincibility, immortality and divinity;
4. the greatest purging (inquisition) in the history of the Church;
5. the greatest ministry – the Prize of all Ages; and
6. the greatest miracles, supernatural signs and wonders far exceeding that of the Apostles and Prophets of old.” (JOEL’S ARMY, pages 1&2).

Since Joel’s Army is supposed to be men and women taking possession of this earth for their King, a second class of warriors becomes necessary. These they call the “Phineas Priesthood.” Rick Joyner made mention of those with the “spirit of Phineas” in his book, The Harvest.

“The dismantling of organizations and disbanding of some works will be a positive and exhilarating experience for the Lord’s faithful servants…..a great company of prophets, teachers, pastors and apostles will be raised up with the spirit of Phineas…” (THE HARVEST, Rick Joyner).

A book written by Richard Kelly Hoskins entitled, “Vigilantes Of Christendom,” describes these warriors. He says of them, “As the Kamikaze is to the Japanese, As the Shiite is to Islam, As the Zionist is to the Jew, So the Phineas priest is to Christendom.” It is very clear that they are preparing to slaughter those who resist their authority. Jesus warned that, “They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service.” (St. John 16:2). That sounds exactly like the great inquisitors of the dark ages.

“The DAY OF THE LORD as seen through the eyes of the NEW WAVE ‘prophets’ will be a time when JOEL’S ARMY led by the ‘prophets’ will pour out God’s wrath on the church. Then for the first time in two thousand years the ‘pure church’ will come forth. In other words, the ‘blood of Christ’ did not avail, nor will it in the LAST DAYS because JOEL’S ARMY and the ‘prophets’ will do what the blood could not, i.e., cleanse the Church. If indeed it takes JOEL’S ARMY to purify the church, then all the preaching of the Cross from the early Church to the present was in vain. And rather than the ‘cross’ being God’s final answer to ‘walking in newness of life’ . . ., we do well to look for another. The JOEL’S ARMY doctrine as it applies to the Church and world is not only in total conflict with the ‘Gospel of Christ’, but is a radical new rendition of the doctrine of redemption and purification. By all analysis, it is ‘another gospel’ and poses a real threat to unstable churches in that it is yet another great deception beguiling the Church.” (JOEL’S ARMY, page 9.)

Warning
Every theological direction these religionists are taking is rooted in esoteric revelations rather than the “tried and true” doctrines of the Bible. They are quick to say that this is a day of new revelations. The New Agers call it a “paradigm shift.” Tommy Reid, a noted New Wave leader, calls it “a new world view.” The Bible calls it “apostasy.”

A sovereign move of God’s Holy Spirit is the only answer to these wild speculations. There are a multitude of “angels of light” sent by Satan to deceive. If you are looking for something titilating, you will probably find the same. If you are looking for “the Way, the Truth, and the Life,” He lives in the Holy Scripture and is waiting for you to open the door. He reveals Himself in your will and heart (spirit), not your emotions.

  1. Part of the problem here is that there are so many competing voices claiming that THEY define Christianity, that the way people are now, the loudest and the flashiest will get the most credibility. They will own what “Christianity” means to the rest of the lost and dying world.

    On the other hand, I remember that as I started to seriously consider God’s Word and the claims of Christ, that a “still, small voice” warned my spirit about people and ideas that were contrary to what I was reading in the Bible.

    I say that to testify that He does communicate with us supernaturally, but I wonder if we have to already be headed in His direction to be able to “hear” it.

    Maybe this my experience is evidence that those who really want to find God will, because He will make himself known to those that want Him. Perhaps I give myself too much credit — I know that I would not be interested in God unless He drew me to Himself. Maybe that’s why I’ve been “unusually” sensitive to good and evil for as long as I can remember; maybe that’s why the truth is so important to me — God had His hand in my life all along. It’s scary in a way.

    That is why the only reliable way to define what is Christian is by what is written in the scriptures. When people claim new revelations from God that conflict or goes beyond what is written they get into all sorts of heresies.

    Even when they claim revelation that lines up with scriptures that does not mean it came from God either. An awful lot of people are claiming words from the Lord wrapped in scripture that came from their own mind and their own presumptions. That is why we are to test all things to see if the scriptures they use are correctly applied. Also, If what they say does not come true it was not from God. There are many so called prophets around that are never held accountable for their prophecies.

  3. That is indeed true — I cringe whenever Pat Robertson tells us what the ‘Lord’ have been telling him lately.

  4. Lynn Scott says:

    If Sarah Palin ever becomes President, her consultant Rick Joyner could be her very own Rasputin. Joyner says that several female Repub. Congresswomen, including Michelle Bachman have “begged him” to have regular consultations with them. Is there no discernment anywhere?

  5. Lynn Scott says:

    I wanted to add that there is a great new article from Jackie Alnor at Apostasy Now regarding Joel’s Army.

    http://www.apostasyalert.org/REFLECTIONS/crowder.htm

    By the way, do these false prophets have any actual power, as they predict doom for their critics?

  6. DonNo Gravatar says:

    Discernment takes understanding. There is little of that these days because few know the scriptures and many “Christians” today are just looking for mystical experiences.

    Rick Joyner is a false prophet and he is nuts. If Palin puts him on her team she she will be destroyed. Those looking to put Palin on the ticket better first find out just how far out on the Christian fringe she is before they select her to destroy the tea party.

    Joel’s Army is Word of Faith dominionism and the concept appeals to the positive confession prosperity gospel people who want to become little gods on the earth before the return of Christ. This is very much a Christian version of New Age theology. They love books like The Secret and think they can speak realities into existence through the God force.

    Take a little dominion theology, word faith theology, Joel’s army, The Third Wave, prosperity teachers and and then add the emergent church and The Secret and shake and roll on the floor. Pour this concoction over ample nuts and you got a drink named Joynerism .

    I might add… False prophets have no power except over the minds of the deceived.

  7. Lynn Scott says:

    On May 1st there is a a gathering at the Lincoln Memorial headed up by Janet Porter (WND) called the 7 Mountains Scheme of Dominion. Speakers include NAR “prophets” Dutch Sheets, Chuck Pierce, and Cindy Jacobs (Generals of Intercession). I read about it in an article at the Let Us Reason website exposing false teachings. The article is entitled “the Coalescing of the Christian Right with the Apostolic Dominionism”. I am not familiar with the particular author Orrel Steinkamp of Plumbline. I looked up his website and it seemed kind of weird, so I am certainly not endorsing all he says. Still his article is pretty interesting showing how Dominionism is joining with the Christian Right, which will doom the Tea Party, etc. if they get hooked up with these false prophets. The recent April 15 conference also mentioned included some Christian teachers, some Republican Presidential hopefuls, including Pawlenty and Gingrich. Rick Joyner was one of the “dignitaries” there.

    Just when I think (hope) this country will come to its senses, politically, and move away from the awful liberal policies, I see that the right could also veer way off track if it continues to join up with the NAR.

  8. Lynn Scott says:

    Sorry, the title of the event on May 1 is ‘the cry for a nation in distress”, but the prayer for the 7 mountains scheme of dominion will be prayed. What in the world is that?

  9. DonNo Gravatar says:

    This article explains it all very well. These apostles of presumption that evolved out of the Word of Faith clones are just full of themselves and they make new presumptions up as they go along. Their authority is not the Bible they rely more on presumed direct messages from God that come through their self appointed apostolic elite. It is a totally heretical Christian cult and Dominion Theology leads to the woman that rides the beast of Revelation chapter 17.

    I advise Christians to reject these false prophets who itch the ears of naive Christians with claims of their coming supernatural powers to take control of the world. In the final analysis, these false teachers have nothing on witchcraft, gnosticism, and pagan New Age teachers like those that write books like “The Secret”.

    I am told that Palin thinks Rick Joyner is a real prophet and that he is a adviser. If the Christian Right hitch their wagon to her they will lose. Palin will be made a laughingstock as this stuff about her continues to come out. She is unelectable in America. Most Christians will not even vote for her when they get educated about her Christian fringe beliefs.

    The tea party is doomed as a party because the people in it have little common beliefs other than discontent with government. The tea party people will merge into the Republican party and help shape it or it will split the opposition and insure that the democrats will win. What Republicans do not need is another phony conservative compromise to unify the party nor does it need someone so far on the fringe like Palin and Paul that they are unelectable. Gingrich is saying the right things and my money is on him in 2012, but he does have baggage and he is CFR.

    My Friends, this country is in serious jeapordy and has been since it’s inception, no one and I mean no one is on the up and up. Not since maybe John Quincy Adams has there been a President who has not be linked to freemasonry or someother subversive group. This all part of our enemy’s master plan to rule the world, yes he has a plan and he is working it. Oh I know that sounds so “conspiracy theory” but come on this is not our home, we are but pilgrims just passing through. Jesus told us all this must happen, so it cannot be stopped, and don’t be too shocked. We must fight the good fight of faith, pray for strength, and make sure we are able to use scripture to refute these dangerous heresies with anyone who has the intestianl fortitude to make an actual argument, scripture is the sword of truth. History bares this truth, there is nothing quite like persecution for purifying the body of Messiah. The Chiniese Christians would love to have what sits on our shelves collecting dust in triplicate – the Bible. It is the most purchased book in our nation but the least read.

    My comment is to Lynn Scott. I know Dr. Orrel Steincamp personally and have talked to him many times on the phone and via e-mail I was not aware that he has a website, matter fact I know he does not because he told me he needs a website but does not know how to get one. What you will find is an archive of his articles. I recieve his articles by mail from Plumbline ministries and his writing are right on. Discernment ministries, Herescope, Bob Dewaay all endorce his writings on their website and Let us reason. He is a man that I know to be true to the Word of God and I recommend his writing for all to read.
    God Bless Teresa

  12. Lynn Scott says:

    To Teresa,

    Thank you for that information. I mistakenly thought that the Plumbline website http://ft111.com/plumbline.htm was his website. I should have checked it out further. What I have read of Dr. Steincamp’s writings is very sound.

  13. TereaNo Gravatar says:

    Hey, Lynn
    U are right is does look weird. Those are only a few of his writings. He does a lot of good writing exposing the NAR. He is instrumental in opening my eyes when I came out of that movment. Praise God. God bless
    WE CAN NEVER BE TO CAREFUL

  14. I observed this on Bentley’s Wikipidia page.

    Bentley has sponsored an internship program called ‘Joel’s Army’ in addition to having the words “Joel’s Army” tattooed across his sternum with military dog tags….

    And, Palin is associated with this group?? It is fodder for the lefties!

  15. DonNo Gravatar says:

    Yep, the Left loves this stuff.

  16. LindaNo Gravatar says:

    Until recently I had been a real fan of David Barton but was told that he is not only a fraud regarding his presentations on American history but that he is a dominionist. Does anyone know if this is true? Is he a part of Joel’s Army?

  17. DonNo Gravatar says:

    Linda,

    David Barton identifies with the teaching of the New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) cult and Joel’s Army.is synonymous with that. However, that does not mean that Barton himself actually identifies with being part of Joel’s army, but it does not really matter if he uses that term because he has bought into just about everything these NAR heretics teach. That would make him a dominionist. Here is a article that will shed light on that.

    Thank you so much for your quick answer, Don. I have utmost respect for Brannon Howse and pray that he stays true to the Word. So, so many religious leaders have become false teachers or succumbed to false teaching and while it is so disappointing, the Bible certainly gave us plenty of warning. I just found your website and blog site today and will come here often for help with discernment.

  19. DonNo Gravatar says:

    Welcome Linda, there are over 1000 posts on the blog part of this website alone. Use the search box or sidebar information for topics of interest.

    Good Lord! I can’t believe how this group has taken everything Jesus taught us and completely swept it under the carpet for one verse in the OT. People are confused about God dealing with the Gentiles and Israelites and the difference between us. I assume this is more of that Dominion theology I’ve been reading about. How weird can you get?
