Secularist Europe Silences Pro-Lifers and Creationists

The secularist European governments are now obviously against anything called God.

Secularist Europe Silences Pro-Lifers and Creationists The Brussels Journal: “Last week, a German court sentenced a 55-year old Lutheran pastor to one year in jail for “Volksverhetzung” (incitement of the people) because he compared the killing of the unborn in contemporary Germany to the holocaust. Next week, the Council of Europe is going to vote on a resolution imposing Darwinism as Europe’s official ideology. The European governments are asked to fight the expression of creationist opinions, such as young earth and intelligent design theories. According to the Council of Europe these theories are “undemocratic” and “a threat to human rights.””

  1. Americans love Europe-bashing, but few have ever lived here. It’s true that the EU countries are infected with “PC” thinking, but the Christians who are here seem to be more genuine. I left the US in 2003 and moved to Germany, and I found a great church here- not huge, like an American church, but with “real” Christians.

Meanwhile, America’s laws are more anti-Christian than Europe’s. In America you can’t have a Nativity display at Christmas- in Germany, there is a big Nativity display in most cities. In the US, partial birth abortion is legal in most states, but in Ireland and Poland, abortions are severely restricted, and even in “Secular” France, a woman can’t get an abortion past the 12th week unless the mother’s life is in danger! Thirdly, there doesn’t seem to be an epidemic of churches promoting political parties or waving a flag here. In the US, there seems to be a big problem of nationalism- people thinking that their nationality gives them a “special” relationship with God!

A lot of people are frightened of the EU, thinking that it is somehow “evil”. I personally think that the EU is merely an economic organization at the moment, and if a “New Rome” comes up in the future, it won’t be the EU! If you want to know what is REALLY happening in Europe, ask someone who lives here, or, better yet, come and visit some of the Evangelical churches here. The news you get on American TV (and especially the “Christian” programs) is very biased!

  2. Tabitha,

I lived in Europe two years and you are generally correct in what you said. But, nobody was talking about the true Christians living there or talking about America. America obviously has its own problems.

I think the point of the article is that the evils of secular humanism that first came out of Europe is now embraced by most governments in Europe and in some areas of Europe Christians are actually now prosecuted for just telling people the truth.

I agree that the EU is not the Beast of Revelation. I expect the revived Roman Empire will cover all the area that the old one did. It will probably rise after a clash of civilizations.
