The war on those that actually believe that Jesus will return

More and more stories are coming out from mainstream Christians teaching that those who actually take Bible prophecy literally are dangerous people.Bishop Hanson is not unique these day. Jimmy Carter just implied the same thing at his Baptist conference. George Bush implied it years ago. Preterist’s imply it in their books. Methodists and most Presbyterians imply it in the positions they take in the Middle East. One can go on and on.

Those that teach the millennial return of Jesus Christ are receiving more and more persecution in the world. It is not even allowed in China. Now mainstream denominations will ostracize those who actually believe that Jesus will return in our time.

I have no doubts that they will outlaw this belief almost everywhere within a decade and the chief people they will use against us will be Religious people in the Liberal social gospel churches, the Catholics and the Postmodern movements.

This article will give you a good idea of where this it is all heading as do all of Roger Oakland’s excellent teachings.

Now, let’s evaluate Bishop Hanson’s statement. He said that if you are a believer in a biblical end-times scenario that is based on taking the Bible literally, you are dangerous and counterproductive to the cause of Christ. He would like to form a council made up of Roman Catholics, Orthodox, Anglicans and like-minded Lutherans to investigate and deal with this “crisis”.

In other words, Bishop Hanson views those who reject “Kingdom Now” and believe in “apocalypse next” as fundamentalist-millenialist-apocalypticist crackpots.

But there is more. Hanson seems to believe the Reformation was without cause and that the church must join with the Roman Catholic Church and embrace the Eucharistic Jesus in order to bring about an ecumenical unity and the Kingdom of God here on earth.
