Is Jesuit Pope Francis the Antichrist or the False Prophet?

This Blog deals with world and church trends and Bible prophecy so I would be remiss if I did not write something about the first Jesuit Pope ever to take the throne. Pope Francis now rules over half of what is called Christendom with its 1.2 billion Roman Catholics. This Pope will also have great influence with other world religious leaders and world governments.

I recently have already written on the supposed prophecy attributed to St. Malachy. The prophecy says that Peter the Roman will be the last Pope before Rome is destroyed and judgment comes on the world. This present Pope is the 112th Pope and last Pope on the Malachy list.… continue reading

Less quickening means more compressing of end time bible prophecy

Art Bell, on his radio program of the late 20th century, used to say that the earth had entered a period that he named “The Quickening”. Many in the late 20th century thought that we were at the end of the world or age as we knew it. Bell had one late night guest after another, telling his Dreamland listeners what would be coming upon on us in the next couple of years.

The guests ranged from secular prophets and remote viewers, to people that claimed to have various kinds of insider information about high level secrets. It made for great fiction, but the fantasy that was so often suggested, did not become reality just because some claimed it would.… continue reading

Reasons to believe why Jesus will return before 2050 AD

In various other articles, I have given my rationale why the coming of Jesus in glory will not occur during this decade but now I will explain why I think that it is almost certain that Jesus will return before 2050 AD.

Let me first say that Paul said the true Church would know the general season of the Lord’s return. He said, that we are not in darkness that this day should come upon us like a thief (1 Th 5:4). We are told to watch for the Lord’s return and we are also told to fellowship with other Christians even more as we see that day approaching (Heb 10:25).… continue reading

Isaiah 17, Psalm 83, or end of world prophecy won’t occur in 2012

It appears to be a near certainty that NATO will soon get involved in the action in Syria. They will probably get directly involved within a matter of days or a couple of weeks. The United States, France, and Great Britain have aircraft carriers in place and they have thousands of special forces ready to move into Syria to secure the Syrian WMD sites.

Syria was warned about not using WMD but reportedly they have loaded chemical nerve agents into bombs and is now walking on the red line that NATO placed in the sand. NATO is now responding to the deliberate provocation by Assad.… continue reading

Koenig’s perspectives on Bible prophecy and world issues Oct 2012

So far the big October surprise has been Obama’s first debate performance. Romney now has half of chance of winning this thing unless Obama has other October surprises coming that gets people’s mind off of his lackluster debate performance.

So why the poor performance by Obama? It can’t be because he was not thoroughly coached by his people for this debate, we know that he was. That allows about two possibilities.

He either does not have the intellectual capability to debate the real issues or he has a medical problem. I think it is not the first possibility because he was able to debate people before, so it probably is the second.… continue reading

Utopian humanist socialist globalism and issues in Bible prophecy

This article might kick some sacred cows of conservative Christian Americans and the Bible prophecy “experts” that many follow, so you have been warned. This article is also very long (over 5000 words), so if you have no attention span and cannot critically think like most in this sound bite generation, then this article was not written for you. On the positive side, that would also eliminates 99 percent of the people who would be critical of this article and all people hired to read  blogs by government spy agencies. 😎

This article has six sections that I call points and it also has a brief summery.… continue reading

Shortly before or after this article appears, comments should be opened again after having been closed for about six months. If you want any realistic hope of getting your comment posted you will need to read and abide by the new commenting policy (top bar). There may be some bugs since I can’t find out if all my plug-in software is working as advertised until comments are turned on.

Bill Salus teaching blazes an alternate path to Revelation Road

There are a few new names in the eschatology field that did not get there by first obtaining a formal theological education. Some such as Chuck Missler, Tom Horn and Bill Salus earned a respected name in Eschatology by doing independent research and then coming up with end time scenarios that do not exactly fit within the classic dispensational eschatology box.

Not all original thinkers like these base their views on scripture or sound hermeneutics, so you do have to check them out. I recently did reviews on two of Tom Horns books and I could not give them my endorsement, because it seems to me that Horn’s books are mostly based on trying to find the future in demonic writings.… continue reading

Koenig’s perspectives on Bible prophecy and world issues Aug 2012

This has been the hottest driest summer around here in modern history. In the Missouri Ozarks where I live, it has been in the 90’s or 100’s most days since early June. We have had a grand total of 5 inches of rain since April 1st. In a normal year we would get about four times that amount. We have not had enough rain at one time at my place for the rain to even get down to the roots of trees. Many trees are already losing their leaves and going dormant. Water tables are dropping drastically, wells and ponds are drying up and there is no pasture.… continue reading

True and pseudo Christians living in post constitutional America

Most within Christianity in America today continue to live in blissful ignorance. They have become like the Laodicean Church found in Revelation chapter 3 that was living high on a hill with a false sense of security. On the other hand, astute Christians and some true patriots are aware that we are now living in a post Christian influenced America and a post constitutional America.

If these astute Christian and patriots are correct – and I believe they are – how will the American Church have to change its focus to be effectual salt and light within a nation that will be reaping the consequences of its own evil ways?… continue reading

Petrus Romanus: an exercise in finding the future in the demonic

In 2009 Tom Horn gave us his theory in his book “Apollyon Rising 2012” that the Antichrist would make himself known between the year 2009 and 2012. Three years later Horn has followed up with a book that has the False Prophet coming to power in late 2012. This book seems designed to complete his theory based on many private mystical and pagan prophecies that the Great Tribulation starts near the end of 2012 and ends in 2016.

Last month I gave a review on Apollyon rising 2012. In brief, I thought that Tom Horn assumes that unregenerate man has power over the spirits that humans do not have, and that Tom Horn gives demonic pagan prophets way to much credit to be able to foretell the future.… continue reading

Koenig’s perspectives on Bible prophecy and world issues Jun 2012

The next summer of recovery is upon us and the only thing certain is that there will be no economic recovery this summer just like there was no recovery in the previous summers under the Obama administration. The latest official unemployment figures have just gone up again and the number of first time seekers of unemployment benefits are also climbing again.

The average American family has lost 39 percent of their net worth in just the last three years. That 39 percent figure does not include inflation so the real loss of net worth since 2008 is nearing 50 percent. This loss of wealth hit the middle-class the hardest, the upper-class did not experience any fall in net worth at all.… continue reading

Apollyon is not Rising in 2012. You are being Hornswoggled.

Some in Christian media have been doing interviews with Thomas Horn so I decided to read a couple of his books. I recently read “Apollyon rising 2012” and I will soon read his latest book “Petrus Romanus”, which God willing, I will comment on sometime in the future. The title “Apollyon Rising 2012”, implies that Apollyon of Revelation 9:11 will be rising in 2012 but If you believe that you probably already have been hornswoggled.

First let me say that there are quite a few errors and shoehorning of scripture as well as some hornswoggling in Tom Horn’s book. Dr. Cathy Burns points out many of the problems in her critique of Tom’s Horn’s Apollyon Rising: 2012.… continue reading

New evangelicalism usually also means denying Bible inerrancy

I recently read the book “New Evangelicalism“, by Paul Richard Smith, founder of Calvary Chapel Victorville CA. Paul Smith is a leader in the Calvary Chapel movement founded by his brother Chuck Smith, who also wrote the foreword to Paul Smith’s book.

The book gives a brief history of modern Protestantism beginning with modernism where scripture became critically analyzed through the filters of the philosophies of 19th and early 20th century humanist intellectuals. This humanistic intellectual analysis of the scriptures became known as “higher criticism”. I took one of those silly “higher criticism” courses in college myself.

I will give you my own take on modernism; most of what I will say about modernism in Christianity does not come from Paul Smith’s book, but from what I read in his book, I think Paul Smith would agree with most of it.… continue reading

If Bible prophecy will be fulfilled, why expect worldly solutions?

American Christians who are aware of Bible prophecy should not be surprised or unduly concerned by the lawlessness and insanity that we are seeing in our nation and the world. If we believe Bible prophecy will be fulfilled in our generation why would we now expect America or the world to come up with solutions for a world that will prove to be doomed without Jesus?

Why should we expect the prophecies about what would happen in the last days, to not happen, if we are indeed in the last days? If these things were not already happening before our eyes, I would have to question my own presumption that the prophetic scriptures about the end of the age will be totally fulfilled within a couple of decades.… continue reading

Dr. James McGrath: Christians should not expect literal second coming

Dr. James F. McGrath of Butler University teaches courses on New Testament Language and Literature. However, anyone attending his courses really ought to investigate the heretical views that they will be taught at Butler University by professor McGrath.

Dr. James F. McGrath made this statement in bold on his own Exploring Our Matrex Blog:

It does not make sense for Christians to continue to expect a literal “second coming” of Jesus.

I also read online from his very own words that Dr. McGrath claims to be a reformed Christian in the same sense as a Reformed Jew. Reformed Jews are reformed for a reason.… continue reading

Ezekiel 37 describing literal resurrection and return of Israel?

I wrote a draft on Ezekiel 37 not too long ago but I deleted it thinking that what I wrote was just too far out of the box to be accepted. However, true to my loose cannon nature, I will try to sink some boats after all, even if that means I may sink my own. What I write is certainly not infallible doctrine so I just may have Ezekiel 37 wrong.

I do not think the usual interpretation of Ezekiel 37 given by most premillennial Bible prophecy teachers adds up. I have read some Bible prophecy teachers that make an effort to make Ezekiel 34 thru Ezekiel 39 sequential or say the prophecies of chapters 34-37 are being fulfilled or have been fulfilled with the return of the Jews to Israel today.… continue reading

Bible prophecy is not about paganism, false prophets or America

People who study Bible prophecy usually want to know about things to come. Even so, there is only so much that God revealed to us in the scriptures about the future. When people go outside of inspired texts to find more truth or information they are going to be misled. Also, those people claiming direct revelation from God about the future should know that speaking lies and their own presumptions in the name of God puts them in grave danger. Those with itching ears might believe these false prophets but what they learn from them will not lead them into doing anything productive for Christ.… continue reading

The revived Roman Empire Beast emerges with Fascist Socialism

With the events going on in Europe and the Middle East I have to wonder if we might be seeing the foundations of the revived Roman Empire being lain before our eyes.

The debt crises in Europe means that the EU countries will either have to withdraw from the EU and go back to being independent nations or that there will be a further consolidation of power in Europe. I think the latter will happen and a United States of Europe or new Roman Empire will emerge with a central government that will take away national sovereignty. I am betting that Europe will become more centralized and much more Fascist as Fabian Socialism causes many nations in Europe to go broke.… continue reading

Revivals without relevent messages for Americans are dead on arrival

I guess you should expect articles like this once in awhile because part of the title of this blog is “Church Trends”. In case you do not know, a Blog is a personal journal. It is where I get to publicly express my views on topics that come to my mind. People are free to read them or not read them, and to agree or disagree.  If this post upsets someone they need to realize that there are other views in the world besides their own.

A pastor claims that he wants a revival in his church but he says he cannot find any evangelist that will teach a clear message of salvation every night during the revival.… continue reading
