Gail Riplinger: Where is thy discernment?

King James only and Gail Riplinger’s “New Age Bible Versions” has more than once been brought up on this Blog and elsewhere. I find it incredible that a woman with degrees in Interior design, with no formal training on the Bible, a woman that cannot even read Hebrew or Greek can set herself up as some authority over the best trained Bible translators in the world. I find it dumbfounding that Christians and even some “discernment ministries” would actually take what she says seriously without even reading what the experts say about her bazaar claims.

I can only surmise that her distortions of the truth appeal to those with a wooden head that somehow became a treasure chest full of conspiracy theories.… continue reading

I don’t write to try to offend everyone but it turns out that telling people my Christian worldview makes me an equal opportunity offender. I really love these people who tell me that they really believe the world is coming to an end in 2012, or they are certain that the Rapture has to happen within a year or two, or that they have the date of the second coming all figured out, or that Jesus has to come before 2019 because of their interpretation of the “Fig Tree Parable”, or based on some pagan prophecy, or the sayings of  Jack Van Impe, etc., etc., but they continue to retain all their wealth like they are going to live here forever or take it with them.… continue reading

The United States income tax system is controlled by a tyranny of the majority.

John Stossel brings up some interesting points about our income tax system that you may or may not know. We have now reached the point where half the households in the United States pay no income taxes. Many of these will actually get tax rebates on taxes that they never paid.

The top twenty percent of earners in the United States pay over ninety percent of the income taxes!

Obviously these facts raises some issues.

If half the households in the United States pay no income taxes or are receiving money from those paying incoming taxes why would they ever vote to change a tax system that would not continue to favor themselves?… continue reading

Fundamental foundational truths of Christianity are not optional.

Polls indicate that many that call themselves Christians today do not even believe the essential fundamental foundational truths of Christianity.

Can anyone be a Christian and not believe in the foundational truths of Christianity? That is not for me to judge but if you have doubts about believing these things you might judge yourself. Do you just not understand basic Christian truths because you were never taught them or do you deny them and thus deny the Christian faith?

Jesus is not coming to rule the earth between 2012-2019

I am certain that this post will upset some people but with all the hype and speculation about Jesus coming between 2012-2019 the truth has to be said by someone. I will say dogmatically that Jesus is not coming to rule the earth between 2012-2019 as some Bible prophecy teachers are now saying.

Think the 2012 date setters are not having a negative effect on many in the Church? Obviously this speculation based mostly on Mayan ages and a Mahdi coming out of well is attracting many followers. Some such as the “Gospel Tract Society” now take the position that we are already in the tribulation. H E L L O… what tribulation? I will say it as gently as I can, those who think we are already in the tribulation have lost their marbles.

I fear there is another virus worse than the H1N1 swine flu that is taking over America. It is a virus epidemic that infects the mind and it has now spread out of control.  There is something fundamentally wrong with the thinking in America and much of the West today. Rupert Murdoch’s charging for news scheme.

I know that is off topic for this blog but it affects my blog and all who blog about news indirectly.

Rupert Murdoch has made it clear that his media empire is about to start charging people to read Internet news that would include Fox News as well as many others. He also expects other Internet news sites to follow suit. I do not know what world Rupert Murdoch is now living on he certainly is not living on Internet earth. Slave ship planet earth.

This is a very good article that compares past slavery with the enslavement that people now choose when they submit to being slaves of Big Brother socialism.

Obama, Bernanke and the gang talk about green shoots as if the economy is about to stage a recovery. It will do no such thing. If you throw enough seeds on the ground your going to get some green shoots but when they grow you find out that they were weed seeds that will now choke out any real growth. I have to wonder about the Christian reasoning of Carrie Prejean. She thinks God was testing her faith by her being asked a question about gay marriage? Majority of Christians in America claim that the Holy Spirit and Satan are symbols and not living entities!

I cannot make this stuff up. Can you believe this survey of Christians? It points out to me that most American “Christians” are not Christians at all.

You cannot even be a Christian without the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit so these people who call themselves Christians but deny the living entity of the Holy Spirit cannot be Christians. Likewise, you cannot believe the Bible and believe that Satan is not real. Furthermore, you cannot be a Christian if you believe that Jesus sinned. Therefore the only conclusion can be:

At least sixty percent of “Christians” in America have no Holy Spirit and therefore could not be Christians
At least sixty percent of “Christians” do not believe what the Bible teaches about Satan and therefore are total idiots or more likely not Christians
Thirty-nine percent of “Christians” believe Jesus sinned or probably sinned that rules them out of the Christian faith

Debt has put Salem Communications in deep trouble

Why do Christian ministries and churches think that they are exempt from the biblical teaching on debt? I guess I want to know how and why Salem Communications got itself $320 million in debt in the first place? Now with all this debt Salem Communications is expanding into Spanish language radio and conservative talk radio? I have news, isn’t business expansion kind of risky in a depression especially when you are already in deep trouble? Is the Parable of the Fig Tree about the generation that saw the rebirth of Israel?

About every other week I get a email telling me in one way or another that the parable of the fig tree means that all will be fulfilled by 2019 AD. Thus they believe the start of the tribulation or rapture has to be by 2012. There are well known Bible prophecy teachers teaching this today.
