On May 14th 2018 Israel will be celebrating its 70th anniversary as a reborn state. I believe something significant will happen during Israel’s 70th year that will be a game changer in the middle east and be a prophecy marker.
One thing fairly significant to Israel and her enemies was just announced by President Trump. He said he will move the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem on their May 14th 2018 anniversary. What may prove more significant is the response to that by Israel’s enemies. Will the 70th anniversary of the state of Israel bring another war or a peace deal? Perhaps it will be both.
Iran has forces in Iraq, Syria and Lebanon and is threatening Israel and the whole region. War with Hezbollah, Iran, Syria or all three seems to be on the immediate horizon. On the other hand, Sunni Arab nations like Saudi Arabia and Egypt say they want peace with Israel. Perhaps the prophecy about Elam will play out in Israel 70th year that will eliminate the Shiite Iranian threat?
34 The word of the LORD that came to Jeremiah the prophet against Elam in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, saying, 35 Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Behold, I will break the bow of Elam, the chief of their might. 36 And upon Elam will I bring the four winds from the four quarters of heaven, and will scatter them toward all those winds; and there shall be no nation whither the outcasts of Elam shall not come. 37 For I will cause Elam to be dismayed before their enemies, and before them that seek their life: and I will bring evil upon them, even my fierce anger, saith the LORD; and I will send the sword after them, till I have consumed them: 38 And I will set my throne in Elam, and will destroy from thence the king and the princes, saith the LORD. 39 But it shall come to pass in the latter days, that I will bring again the captivity of Elam, saith the LORD.
The people of Elam are those living near the Persian Gulf in southwestern Iran.
The map comes from Google maps it apparently was complied by “Prophecy In The News”. Notice that Iran’s Bushehr nuclear power plant is centered in the land of Elam. Also notice that Bill Salus wrote a book on Elam. He believes the prophecy will be fulfilled in our time.
The prophecy about Elam indicates that people in this part of Iran will be defeated militarily and the people of Elam will be dispersed to all nations. Some think the prophecy of Elam was fulfilled in ancient times but any complete fulfillment never happened. Others believe the prophecy will be fulfilled during the Day of the Lord. The Day of the Lord is the great tribulation. I do not see how every nation on earth could be taking in refugees during the great tribulation. Even current events suggest that the prophecy is likely to play out very soon.
Iran has military in Iraq and Syria and it controls Hezbollah in Lebanon that has 100,000 missiles pointing at Israel. Something has to happen to eliminate that grave threat to Israel. Israel cannot be living securely like Ezekiel 38 and 39 says while this Iranian threat remains. It also is a little too early for the Gog war to play out so I do not see that war playing out in Israel’s 70th anniversary period.
The Gog invasion is still years off because Russia is not ready to head a massive invasion of Israel. Turkey now has expansionist goals, but Israel could handle Turkey should it come to that. Turkey would first get in a war with Greece and would have to defeat the Kurds before becoming a major threat to Israel. Besides, the U.S. is standing in the way of any invasion of Israel. It seems that America must first be removed from the picture before Gog and his allies come against Israel.
The most logical reason that this migration of Elam happens is that the area becomes so radioactive that the millions of people living in this area have to be evacuated. They become refugees and all nations agree to take some of them in.
I think a logical fulfillment could come as the result of nuclear reactor meltdown at Buchehr Iran. The meltdown likely will come as the result of a military action or an earthquake. Chernobyl Ukraine and Fukushima Japan are examples of areas being depopulated because a nuclear reactor melted down. The evacuation of Elam would involve millions of Iranians. Each nation in the world will agree to take in a portion of the refugees. The radioactivity in this area also helps explain why those east of Euphrates come against Israel from the north.
The prophecy indicates that Elam will be defeated militarily so that means Iran would be in no shape to relocate all these people to other parts of Iran. The nation probably would be in revolution as well. After this happens, Iran would no longer be an immediate threat to Israel. Nevertheless, if the meltdown was caused by military action that included Israel it certainly would give the Persians reason to join with Gog in the later Ezekiel 38 and 39 war.
Temporary removing Shiite Iran and its proxies from the picture could allow for a regional treaty with Israel and the Sunni Arabs. That could be the reason that there is security in Israel before the Gog invasion.
Israel might even take over more territory during this period. The expansion of Israel could be the significant prophetic marker in Israel’s 70th year.
Any peace agreement in the next year or two would not be the confirming of the covenant for seven years by the Antichrist. However, it could be the start of the peace process that is later confirmed by the Antichrist.
If we expect the tribulation to play out in the 2020’s and 2030’s, preliminary events will happen. A key preliminary event will probably take place in Israel’s 70th year even if it has nothing to do with anything that I just said.
Another article that makes a lot of sense. With the current situation in Syria, I think it possible that the Isaiah 17 prophecies concerning Damascus will occur as a part of the same war. Thousands of Iranian built missiles coming out of southern Lebanon and Syria, some perhaps with poison gas, could well trigger a nuclear response by Israel. In the late 70’s I was an officer on a Polaris submarine. Our training was that the US would not respond to the use of WMD’s against us with gas. Our response would be nuclear, as the only WMD we owned up to. Another item most people won’t realize, is that a nuclear explosion, damaging a reactor (I also had a PE in nuclear engineering) will probably be much worse than either event alone. The explosion will be hot enough to carry the particulate to the stratosphere causing wider dispersal of contamination and the combined reactor core and the bomb combined will have much more and probably worse particulate than either event alone. Such an attack on Bushehr could result in widespread evacuations.
People should remember that in ancient days Persia and Elam were different countries. Destruction of Elam, could leave Persia (Iran) defeated but ready and able to support the alliance of the Ezekiel War. The stage certainly seems set to me. We are truly blessed to live in such times. Imagine the privilege of perhaps being a part of the Rapture. As I said truly blessed.

Haven’t you said previously that a peace treaty could possibly be in effect already, when the Antichrist confirms it for an additional 7 years? Many treaties are condition based, with certain terms, or periods if time, to be reevaluated at a later date? A regional war could bring about, only the first iteration of a treaty.
Also, in recent news, Russian paramilitary forces were involved in a Syrian attack against rebel forces, who are aided by US forces, which repelled the attack so forcefully, that survivors complained about how woefully unmatched they were. And now, a rumored, advanced Russian Stealth Fighter has been spotted in the theater. I think it’s obvious the Russians are fighting a proxy war already, which could be a contributing factor to bring them in later, with much more force, but only after the destruction of Israel’s enemies.
I agree with you, that something is going to break relatively soon. There are just too many prophetic signs lining up for it not to happen. But, I have a larger question. What’s your view of the possible breakup of the European Union, in light of many nations rebelling against it. Italy’s only the most recent, as elections look like the conservatives will win fairly handily. But also Poland, Austria, Hungary, Bulgaria, and several other former Eastern block nations being in opposition to the mass migration issues. Perhaps this is a subject for a later article.

I don’t think anyone would nuke the reactor but they might attempt to disable it and the indirect result could be a meltdown. Heck, the Iranians might even nuke themselves when a missile shot at Israel falls on their own head.
I believe the destruction of Damascus occurs in the Day of the Lord. That Isaiah 17 prophecy also talks about a lot of death in Israel. It seems to me like that could only happened during the time of Jacob’s trouble.

There are couple of possibilities with Europe. The EU could break up and then someone might arise that puts some of the nations back under a confederation. Or there could be a war that requires a united Europe. Another possibility is that the present EU will stifle the protests by going authoritarian.
I think the Islam threat and the Russian threat will drive whatever happens. Keep in mind that 3 kings are removed by the Antichrist so the confederation might just happen then.

if the fig tree generation is going to witness all these things come to pass then surely we are very close to the end. Those who witnessed the re-birth of israel in 1948 are probably in their 80’s now or so. If this prophecy is legit that a generation is about 80 years old then we got another 10 years until israels 80th birthday which is about the right time frame of don’s rapture timeline.
There is also a reason why we see russia in the middle east at this appointed time with the most advanced jets spotted on Syria’s base recently, all this tells me that we could really be 10 years away from all this happening.

I do not think the Fig Tree generation is talking about any dating from the birth of Israel. It may turn out that all will be fulfilled within 80 years from the rebirth of the state of Israel but I do not think that was the intent of what Jesus said. Also, even 80 years seems a bit soon, the last seven years would have to start in three years. I just don’t see that happening.
The article by Pete Garcia was very good. His well thought out conjectures are as good as any out there. There are a lot of things nobody knows, so we cannot be dogmatic about some things, especially timings.

I always thought 2028 would be a year with significant events.
-2520 years (of 360 day years) from Israels return from captivity.
-80 years from Israel becoming a nation again.(basing this off Moses’quote not the fig tree generation theory).
-It falls very close to a reasonable timeline of end time events.
Just seens too coincidental for all three of these to align. I could be wrong and im not dogmatic about it.

The quote about living to 70 years or 80 if you have strength. I guess you are right as 360 day years would technically be a year off from 2028. I believe i was counting 2520 years from either the end of the captivity or some time after when the temple and wall was ordered to be rebuilt. I mentioned this on one of your past blogs not sure which one.

I do not buy into the conjecture that Jesus was saying that all would be fulfilled in a lifespan of 70 or 80 years from the rebirth of Israel in 1948. If significant events were to happen in 2028 AD like you indicate, all would not be fulfilled in that generation like Jesus said. Therefore, you cannot both say there will be significant events in 2028 AD and also claim the generation that Jesus talked about would end prior to 2028 AD.
A Biblical generation is really the span of time from a father to his first offspring. Anyway, that is my two cents for what it’s worth.

The Church is an intercalation into the Jewish prophetic timeline. In considering that time line the church age is unseen. Based on this I hold the view that Pentecost will mark the birth and end of the Church age.
If Daniel’s seventieth week is the final period of his timeline for Israel, for this Elam prophecy to impact Israel only and not the church, must it fall in those last seven years?
As I can’t see that or the Gog invasion happening after the confirmation of the covenant, both these prophecies could impact the Church age, but will they…
How many years between the catching away of the Church to the confirmation of the covenant…? Will we see such prophecies as this or Gog’s invasion…? or are they reserved for Israel alone (and not the Church).
These are things I would like to know, but probably won’t until they occur… any of them would be fascinating, but I admit to looking/listening for that trump and that voice.
I’m still holding on to the 6th day theory which would put the second coming around 2033 and the last seven years beginning around 2026. That puts the Rapture at any moment now.
Does this timing fit with all the prophecies that have to be fulfilled or has the 6th day theory been dismissed?

I have suggested all along that there is likely to be a 3.5 year gap from the Rapture until the start of the last seven years. Seven years after the Rapture when people are expecting a universal Christ figure to appear they will receive the Antichrist. That is why they throw a great party after the two witnesses are killed. They will say they were the Antichrist and False prophet. They will think they have arrived to the thousand year reign. That kingdom they will get is know as Babylon the Great.
I also have written that the Rapture will most likely occur on the day that the Holy Spirit filled Church started. We have a Church type with Enoch. Tradition says Enoch was born on the day that we now call Pentecost and he was taken to heaven on his birthday.

Pentecost is the Feast of Weeks (Shavuot) it occurs 50 days after Passover. The date varies from year to year. Passover is on the 15th day of Nisan on the Jewish calendar and it typically begins on the night of a full moon after the northern vernal equinox. The Feast of weeks commemorates the time when the wheat is harvested and the first fruits are brought to the Temple (how appropriate for it being the day of the Rapture). Good luck trying to figure out the exact date. Even the Jews and scholars cannot agree. The Jews celebrate Shavuot on the sixth day of Sivan.
If Jesus did indeed die at the end of the fourth day, and if God has a 7000 year plan for mankind, then there is little room for interpretation. Jesus will return in less than two decades. Very exciting times.

Gog and Magog.So,my thinking is Gog and Magog is not the USSR-but
Turkey.Also,the Romans would hire a lot of soldiers from the countries

The names of the Turkish cities do not identify Gog and Magog. The Bible identifies the coalition of nations that come down in that war. Would you say that the Gog and Magog that come against the Holy City after the thousand year reign are also just Turkey? The cities in Turkey were named after Gog and Magog and not because they were what God identifies as Gog and Magog. They were named after the prophecy was given.
The prophecy about the Antichrist is talking about the empire that ruled Israel in the days that the Temple was destroyed. Mercenaries in the Roman army do not qualify as being that empire.
I have written plenty about why I do not believe the Antichrist is from Islam.

It seems clear on dreams I have received along with many others that Obama will become the person of the anti-Christ though through some kind of transformation into some kind of likeness and event of some kind, and at this time is in waiting knowingly or unknowingly for this to take place. It seems clear that the rapture will be in the month of harvest this year 2018 or within the next few years at that time, that is, the months of Aug-Sept. This also has been revealed to many in dreams and visions and warnings that may have been from the Lord.
It seems clear that Trump is on the way out through plans in evil high places, with a doubtful and uncertain future after that for what is left of the USA.
It appears now that all that is waiting on for all this to happen is the rapture. And until that happens things will drag on as per usual. But it appears that the Lord will blow the trumpet as soon as even this year! There are many reasons as to why I say that, but I will leave it at that….

On topic, I believe – I have been following the “Eschatology Today” website, since earlier this year. For a while, I wasn’t sure what “SITREP” meant, but I’m thinking “situation report”. The blog takes a bit of scanning to find the current post/updates some times.
In any case, the last “final update August 30” post, effectively one sentence, suggest there is looming action (“Russian-Syrian-Iranian assault upon Idlib Governorate”). That being said, I don’t quite understand if there is significance to this in terms of “something prophetically significant”, but maybe Don can provide some insight.
As for “things/voices in my head” etc (OK, as far as I’m concerned, it’s just my own… if there is the “voice of Jesus or His Spirit”, it’s silent or on some other level outside the conscious flesh) — I am conditioned to dismiss them. I have His word and I so search trustworthy commentary, and discern as best I can.
As a technical leader / manager type, I have conditioned myself to make decisions / be decisive. But, frankly, I just throw all my decisions to the Lord and leave it at that. I am not kicking cans down the road. I typically don’t even consider that as an option. I can hang on one piece of scripture: “all things work for good.” I figure, I’m not necessarily in situations I created [most of the time, I believe]. I am on this earth with all the rest of us and I would like to do some true good. I do say things (verbal or writing) that is definitely taking chances, seeing how I’m a subject in the larger “deep state” — I figure, I’ll either walk away (e.g., if Hillary would have won or if Oprah takes the reigns) or they’ll tell me it’s time to go (and I don’t mean snatching the pebbles).
The way I look at it, America — as a continent — has probably no more than a handful of years left, if that, before it is removed/judged on some level (minimum – no longer a super-power).

There probably will be some looming action by Iran and Syria in that area and there could be negative consequences, but I doubt if this is now going to lead to the Isaiah 17 destruction of Damascus.
The way I read Isaiah 17, Damascus will cease from being a city and many in Israel will also die near the time of that event. That means the nearly two million people in Damascus will either be killed or they will be taken elsewhere. Otherwise those surviving would just rebuild from the rubble. The wording in Isaiah makes it sound like the destruction occurs in the time of Jacob’s trouble to me.
In my opinion, trying to find future Bible prophecy in current events is not close to being an exact science. What is the track record?
In other words, I do not think we are there yet, but the current Syrian war certainly could lead to a fulfillment of Bible prophecy further down the line.
I do not disagree that America’s future does not look bright, but we can always hope that the Rapture will occur before America is completely taken over or destroyed by the dark side.
Some food for thought on America’s demise. I work in the financial markets – America has two
extraordinary privileges in the world today. They are: the dollar as the world’s reserve currency which allows the US to issue as much debt as the government wants. Two, the US has the ability to kick/bully anyone out of the SWIFT payment system that is located in Europe.
Two notable countries that are effected by the US control of the SWIFT system are Iran and Russia. In addition to this, the US has recently threatened countries who will continue to do business with Iran by blocking them out of SWIFT.
Europe is not happy that the US backed out of the Iran deal in May of this year – yes it comes down to less trade revenue for EU countries.
The EU said just last week they will develop their own SWIFT system to do business with whomever they want so not as to be bullied by the US. Maybe a couple of years to get a new system running?? Not sure. The technology is there, just a matter of timing and world developments, my opinion only.
Once SWIFT is neutralized by the EU, China and Russia, another SWIFT like system will eliminate America’s financial influence over countries. That will be a huge blow to US hegemony.
Secondly, the US dollar as a reserve currency will eventually come to an end – hard to time this, but it could be within years – maybe five, that may be a stretch but it comes down to end time events.
Remember, without the ability to print debt… game over for huge budget deficits.
With these two privileges gone – the US will be in a powerless position financially with a boat load of debt it can never repay and a budget it will not be able to finance. It doesn’t pay for the Deep State to be bellicose, G-d has a way of putting nations in their place.

No. They have been breeding these cattle for decades. The red heifer that is possibly qualifying will probably have nothing to do with the cleansing of the temple. It will just help them breed more spotless red heifers for the future.
