Just a few more weary days and then I’ll fly away

I have severe medial issues so I will stop posting articles and I will be closing comments for at least awhile.

I have had chronic medical issues since last fall. The blood tests indicate internal bleeding and bacteria infections. A recent CT scan revealed that I have a mass in my gut that is larger than a grapefruit and I also have two spots on my liver. The large mass is what is known as a GIST and is probably a soft tissue sarcoma.

The mass is probably too large to be taken out by surgery. I know the surgeon that ordered the biopsy said he cannot do it.… continue reading

The pastor at a baptist church where I attend said that with the tribulation drawing closer we had to increase our effort to get people saved, because those not believing will end up in Hell. By Hell, he actually meant the Lake of Fire. They are not the same place, but they often are used synonymously as if they were. By saved, he meant saved into the Church. Time is indeed growing short to get out gospel message before the tribulation, but many people will still be saved afterward.

So called Christians in the Western world today seldom have a Christian worldview. In fact, their worldview is pretty much the same worldview as the Harlot of Revelation 17. They only seem to be interested in the affairs of the Babylonian world system that Christians are told to occupy until the Lord comes. Black swans could poop on Trump’s 2020 election expectations

Black swans are unforeseen happenings that come out of nowhere and change the course of events in the world. I think one or more black swans could change the course of the 2020 national election. As things stand now, President Trump would be reelected and the Republicans would gain control of both houses of Congress, but one or more black swans could poop on Republican expectations.

Trusting Jesus gets us eternal life but faithfulness determines eternal rewards

In my last post I made it clear that the gospel of John indicates that salvation comes to those that believe (trust) in Jesus. The reason some Christians add things to salvation is not because they themselves are lost. Saved people often add requirements to salvation because they never learned understanding. They do not know the scriptures or they mishandle the scriptures, and then want everyone else to comply with their own misunderstanding.

Gospel of John refutes salvation through perseverance theology

The reason I fell away from the Roman Catholic Church when I was in my teens was not because I did not believe in Jesus. Believing the story about Jesus being the Savior of mankind seemed like the only possibility to me for as long as I can remember. I fell away from the Roman Catholic Church because I did not believe in their requirements for salvation.

In any honest analysis, the Catholics teach salvation through your own efforts and obedience to their church along with your own perseverance in their teachings until the end. How Catholics are to do that is fully laid out in their church catechism.… continue reading

2Th 2:3 Pretribulation Rapture departure or apostasy from the faith?

In 2Th 2:3 Paul clearly tells us that the Day of Christ will not come unless two things first take place. The apostasia happens followed by the son of perdition being revealed.

2Th 2:1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,
2Th 2:2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
2Th 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

Looking back on The Prophetic Years

Bible prophecy has been of great interest to me since 1973 but until 1999 I only discussed it with friends. Back in the seventies and eighties I was hoping that the Lord’s coming would not be later than what Hal Lindsey and Jack Van Impe were projecting (before 1988). After that date came and went, I started thinking that the tribulation should start around 1993 or 2000. That was mostly based on Grant Jeffery’s timelines. I drove my friends nuts parroting his speculations.

By the mid 1990’s, I no longer had all my apples in the 2000 cart. As much as I did not want to believe it could be so long, I said if these events did not take place around 2000 they probably would not occur until around 2030.… continue reading
