In a recent previous article I suggested that leftist permissiveness has gone too far and there could be a purge coming from the religious right. What I did not say is that I think much of this purge will take place because of the influence of the Roman Catholic Church.

There may be a war with Islam to bring about the rise of Rome, or it could come about through Marian deceptions, or through some other means, but I am convinced that the whore of Revelation 17 is the Roman Catholic Church. It is this woman that rides the Beast/Antichrist into power.

Both Israel and this Rome based institutional Christianity has committed fornication with the satanic pagan world. Both are harlots and both receive similar fates in the last days. The second whore is the one that confirms the covenant with the first whore.

For centuries after the reformers departed from Roman Catholic controlled Christendom, they identified the Roman Catholic Church as being the whore of Revelation 17. In recent days some have claimed that the whore is Islam. That is not likely. This woman is an adulterer. She claims to have a husband but she fornicates with the satanic world system. Islam never knew God or Christ. Islam cannot fulfill the role of adulterous Christian identity posing as Christianity.

Only the Vatican in Rome qualifies as the whore of Revelation 17. Rome sits on seven hills. Rome was the city that ruled the world in the time that John received the prophecy. It was Rome that killed the apostles and the saints. The scripture says the woman has blasphemous names, the “Holy” Roman Empire existed but it was evil. The Roman pontiff claims to be the vicar of Christ but he is not. The Roman church claims that a man-made wafer becomes Christ and can be consumed. Those are just three of the many blasphemous names claimed by Roman Catholicism.

The Vatican has diplomatic relationships with most nations on earth and has historically fornicated with the secular leaders of the world. The Vatican now has a seat at the UN. She is the whore fornicating with the kings seen in Revelation 17.

The Roman Empire destroyed the second Temple. And it will be Rome that rides in the Beast that confirms the seven year covenant with Israel, but then defiles the rebuilt Temple a few years later. The Beast will stand in the holy place in the Temple and claim to be above anything called God (2Th 2:4).

The Roman Catholic Church claims to be the only true Church on earth, but it mixed in Babylonian pagan practices and doctrines just as Israel did and received condemnation from God. The Roman Catholic Church way of salvation is in direct contradiction to the gospel delivered by the apostles.

In the Roman church, salvation comes by obedience to their religion. In reality, keeping religious decrees to earn your own salvation is an insult to God. Works based religion cannot save anyone.

I won’t get into the specific details of the many heresies of the Roman Catholic Church here. It would take a book to explain them all. I recommend that Christians read these articles by Mike Gendron.

I don’t know how anyone calling themselves Christian can accommodate  the damnable heresies of the Roman Catholic Church as if they teach the gospel of salvation of scripture. In the Roman Catholic religion, salvation comes through earning merits. God’s grace is something you must earn by keeping the church sacraments, traditions, rituals and by doing good works. Those that say that salvation comes just by faith in Jesus are condemned by the Roman Catholic Church.

The priests of the Roman church are said to be successors of the apostles and said to have all of Christ’s authority on earth. Roman Catholic priests act as God’s grace dispensers. The Roman church is said to be infallible. They teach that if you confess your sins to a priest and accumulate enough merits through obedience to the church you may eventually go to heaven. Those that have venial sin and not enough merits will pay for their sins in Purgatory. Those that have unconfessed mortal sin will go to Hell for eternity. They teach that Jesus only made it possible for you to be saved. You still must earn salvation.

Many of the church’s traditions and practices are contrary to scripture proving that this church is not infallible. It is full of abominations. Satan with his wolves in sheep’s clothing infiltrated this church and corrupted it. The Catholic Church has become as evil as the corrupted Judaism that Jesus condemned. It is a church led by religious Scribes and Pharisees who continue to stumble over stumbling stones laid by previous demonic men. It is a church of blind ritual — a church of idolatry, rote prayer and man-made traditions.

My point in this article is that something is going to happen that allows the Roman Catholic Church to fully take over Christendom again. It will be a form of Dominion Theology that will spread worldwide after great wars and plagues threaten the survival of humankind.

Already, liberal Protestants, Word of Faith and half of those calling themselves Evangelical Christians are calling for unity with Rome as if Jesus wants the institutional churches of Christendom to unite on lies. The actual takeover by the Roman church probably will not occur until after the Rapture of true Christians.

I think during a period of world war, a demonic deception posing as the Queen of Heaven (Mary) will come with a message declaring that world peace will only come if people convert to the Roman Catholic Church and do what she says. Because of the supernatural nature of the message It will be convincing to religious people. Then the Roman Church in true form of its wretched history will persecute anyone that opposes her.

This persecution of believers in the true Christ by the whore is what is spoken of under the fifth seal of Revelation. Keep in mind that I believe the seals will begin to play out before the final seven years for Israel.

The first four seals speak about a time of great war and troubling events on earth, but these are not yet the judgements of Christ and the Father. The four horsemen events brings the Roman whore to its full power. The last seven years is the time of Jacob’s trouble. That period starts with the confirming of the seven-year covenant with Israel by the Roman Prince. That is when God will deal with the Jews again for their final week of years before the restoration of all things. This seven-year period begins after the sixth seal is opened.

The rise of the whore into the limelight again and the persecution of those that reject the whore is likely to take place after the Rapture. At that time Christendom on earth will become controlled by the Roman whore.

It seems to me that a pseudo Christian Dominion Theology will be ruling on earth from shortly after the Rapture until the mid-point of the seven-year tribulation. Then comes the rise of the lawless one. In the first half of those seven years the Roman Catholic Church and the Jews will get the Christ/Messiah that they want, but in the second half of those seven years their anointed one will turn on them and persecute them. That is the end fate of the two whores.

As those that identified with the whores persecuted true believers, she will be persecuted by the Beast system when the lawless one rises out of the abyss. At that time each individual in the two whores can still be saved because they did not deny the Lord’s name, but it will cost most of them their lives.

Rev 2: 22 Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds.
23 And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.

Those who are obedient to the two witnesses in Israel can escape death if they flee to the mountains when the false Messiah enters the Temple. People outside Israel must reject the lawless Beast and endure until the end of the age.

In the last days, religious dominionism led by the Roman Catholic Church will be saying peace and safety can be found through the message that they promote. Before the lawless Antichrist even takes power a purge will come on earth through Roman based self-religious religion. When the false Christ that the Roman Church advances takes power, sudden destruction will come upon the whole world. If Jesus coming is soon, the rise of the whore will occur even sooner. It would be wise not to get caught up in the whore’s self-righteous purge.
